"Evolve" will be for Obamageddon as "is" was for Bill Clinton.... in my book, to "evolve" means to improve with time... not what Obamageddon claims...

Online headline: "Either way, NSA won't be collecting your call records" -- Yeah.. right.. the only change will be that the NSA and CIA and FBI will just no longer confirm what it will be doing...
---
Online headline/story: "Cars.com runs 11-second quarter with Dodge Charger Hellcat * We already knew that the Charger Hellcat was a wonderful vehicle for eating up huge gulps of asphalt at high speeds and could verify its 204-mile-per-hour top speed (quite a bit faster, incidentally, than the Ferrari California T's 196 mph top-speed)." -- Hmm.. you know, if I knew I was going to be driving driving at 196 MPH or higher, I believe I'd rather be driving the Ferrari than a Dodge....

The latest expose' of TSA shows 67 of 70 TSA efficiency "tests" for weapons/bomb detection were failures .. perhaps we got the purpose of TSA wrong..
---
More has surfaced on why Bobby Howard left CHS ...seems a little political correctness, a little racial pressure, and a lot of BS were involved. CHS's loss.

You know..after 8 or 9 years without them, and only 30-40% of employees getting somewhat of a raise, and looking back at last years nearly 10% raise given to the Taj Mahal/administrative staff.. why are the other 60-70% of MCSD employees not getting any sort of raise sticking around?

Items from L-E story on school board meeting:
1 - "Frank Myers and John Thomas have gained support in their crusade for more accountability and transparency on the Muscogee County School Board, but they still lack the votes to enact the change they seek. * The struggle was on display during the board’s called meeting Monday night, when Mark Cantrell joined the two newcomers as the opposition in four 5-3 votes" -- Let's hope Mark Cantrell continues to keep the community's future in focus.
2 - "Shannon Smallman of District 7 was absent." -- You know..knowing the importance of this and the next two meetings, unless a Board member was in a fatal accident on his/her way to the meeting. no absences should be tolerated. Other plans should be scheduled for other dates.
3 - "(Frank) Myers referred to the 13 school districts in Muscogee County’s comparison group. “We’re just really lucky that Bibb County and Richmond County exist, otherwise we would be the — I don’t know a nice way to put it — the armpit of education in second-tier Georgia cities. … We have the third-highest millage rate in the state of Georgia, yet nine of those 13 school systems have zero perpetually failing schools and we have 10. So money’s not the issue. "-- neither are "shiny new "things"... I've just gotten unconfirmed tibdits (from a usually reliable source) of info concerning the new Dorothy Height school that replaced to other elementary schools.. seems enrolment numbers is 40% higher than was planned for, but it also seems that there is "bad blood" between the outside student influences in the two neighborhoods.
4 - "(John) Thomas noted the state constitution limits school districts to a property tax rate of 20 mills, unless they are granted an exception. Muscogee County has one because it operates the Columbus Museum and the county’s public libraries. He added that all of those extra 3.37 mills don’t go to the museum and the libraries, “so we have an advantage over so many other school districts in this state.” -- Well I'll be.. this is the first time I've seen a MCSB member publicly remind the MCSD (and the L-E to actually cite this) that we are being taxed extra for systems that are capable of running on their own in spite of the numerous times I have brought this to the Boards attention. It also taints the $3,5 Million "support money" for the Museums illegal HVAC maintenance project in the SPLOST that was intended to keep Museum Board members inline.
5 - " Following more than one hour of discussion, Lewis said his administration will try to comply with board members’ requests for more detail about the budget." -- "try"? It looks like we have gotten a Superintendent straight out of the Nancy Pelosi "we have to pass it it before we read it" school of politics. May Lewis's rise to the top be short lived as Pelosi's.

L-E story: "Secretary of State John Kerry headed home Monday to Boston from Geneva, Switzerland , for surgery on his broken leg, as U.S. officials insisted that his injury would not hinder his participation in nuclear negotiations with Iran." -- Hmmm.. not only has Kerry "dissed the Swiss and French" and their medical systems, how cannot the pictures of Muppet Man in spandex and a 'groovy" bike helmet not hinder nuclear talks with Iran? I mean.. how can the Iranians look at Kerry again without laughing?
---
L-E headline: "MAYOR PLANS FORUMS ON TAX FREEZE PLAN" -- Good grief.. what Mayor TomLYINGson is proposing now is basically a light version of what she originally sought and an attempt to get something on the books that says she accomplished something on one of her goals. Regardless of what she wants, it will not benefit Columbus citizens long term. There is already a "tax thaw" in existence.. the value and tax basis starts anew when a home is sold/bought.. removing such an incentive to protect new buyers will lower the selling value for current homeowners, and encourage new buyers to move to Harris County where taxes are considerably.

L-E headline: "1896 lynchings remembered at 11th Street and Broadway" -- Is the L-E even interested in "moving on"? Reporting on a century old history of wrongs whether they are racial or otherwise does no good for the community... unless.. unless the L-E highlights the positives changes that have occurred since.. just another example of yellow journalism ....
