Online headline/story: "Obama, Putin meet face-to-face to discuss Syria *
The one thing they could agree on" -- I know... I know.. The only thing liberals
can agree on with non-liberals is.... to agree to disagree!
---
Marvin Kalb described the difference, aside from their personal politics,
between Putin and Obamageddon is that Putin is representing the best national
interests of his country. Nailed it!

Online headline: "Paul Walker's daughter sues Porsche * Walker's 16-year-old daughter, Meadow, has filed a lawsuit alleging that the Porsche which her dad died in was not fit to be on the road." -- "unfit to be on the road"? Good grief.. the only thing "unfit" is the lawyer who filed this case making such a claim!

Online story: "An investigation in Missouri found no evidence that Planned Parenthood's St. Louis clinic mishandled fetal tissue or engaged in unlawful activity, Democrat Attorney General Chris Koster's office said on Monday." -- Hmmmm.. a 30 day government investigation of a Democratic Party issue led by a Democratic Party Attorney General.. that sounds about as thorough and credible as the DOJ attempts to blame George Zimmerman and Officer Darren Wilson for being alive after being assaulted.

Smart L-E "soundoff": "They say Donald Trump gets mad when he doesn’t get
his way. If he becomes president, he’s going to be mad an awful lot." -- This
reminds me of a story attributed to Harry Truman comment said to the Chief
Justice at the swearing in of President Eisenhower in 1953. Truman leaned over
and said, "Poor Ike... tomorrow he's going to issue an order... and it won't get
carried out."

Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid with cherry on top LIV's L-E
"soundoff": "Wouldn’t the intention of the Second Amendment be much better
fulfilled if we all carried nukes instead of puny little assault rifles?" --
Typical liberal response when he/she cannot come up with a valid point on an
issue.. The 2nd Amendment was installed to provide all lawful citizens to arm
themselves for protection from others, including the government..not to give
everyone the power to assault the country.
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Justice served: CEO of south
Georgia peanut plant sentenced to 28 years for food poisoning." -- No, justice
was served, a man was given a sentence for the crimes he committed.. Justice
will be served when the likes of Porkchop HILLsbury DOUGHgirl are arrested,
convicted, and sentenced for crimes against our country.

From the letters to the editor of the L-E: "I am so glad the city has
decided to use weekly collection, but there are questions needing to be
answered. Such as: How come this was not done a long time back? Think of all the
money they could have saved. I mean by way of instead of twice weekly. They now
have the same load, but as weekly. Now they do the same work in one day instead
of two. Great math, Einstein." -- Money saved? Less than $8.00 a year per
household..Where can I send my check for me and my 23 other neighbors for
$192.00 to get twice a week service? Also, if once-a-week pick-ups were saving
money, why are employees not working only 3 days a week, and saving us some
really big bucks?

Online headline: "OBAMA: WE MUST REJECT ‘IGNORANCE THAT EQUATES ISLAM WITH
TERROR" -- Good grief.. we must reject ObamaLogic that equates 9-11-01 and mass,
filmed and distributed, decapitations as a sign of civility.

Can you believe that "sports climbing" is going to be an Olympic Sport in
the Japanese Summer Oylympic Games? I'm sure someone will get "the gold", but
isn't there a risk that there will be no silver or bronze winners as they fall
trying to win the gold?
---
Online story: "District Attorney on New York's Long Island bans prosecutors
from owning guns" -- Good grief.. don't even get me started on the
Constitutional aspects of this, but now a District Attorney doesn't want to
allow his prosecutors to be able to protect themselves and their families from
revenge based attacks of ex-criminals or their families?

Online story: "One group of climate scientists is trying a different
approach. Dismayed by what they see as a lack of progress on the implementation
of climate policies that they support, these 20 scientists sent a letter to the
White House calling for their political opponents to be investigated by the
government. * in particular, they are voicing their support of a proposal by
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) for a RICO investigation of fossil fuel
corporations and their supporters" -- As Perry White of the Daily Planet might
blurt out, "Great Caesar's Ghost"! Are we looking at the 21st Century version
of the 1950s McCarthyism? These nuts are truly dangerous, and I hope their
names are added to the "no fly" and "no guns" lists.

As we look at the still potential of a "roundabout" being built on River
Road at the Brookstone/Cascade/Green Island Drive intersection, I want to
throw one more unbelievable image into the mix.. a logging truck pulling a load
of logs on a separate trailer attached to the first log trailer. Talk about a
tip-over disaster as a tandem trailer negotiates an 180 degree maneuver around
an unbanked curve that serves a residential neighborhood and a school zone
crossing. Saw one yesterday running the yellow-turning-red-light
yesterday.

L-E story: " The Knight Foundation is kicking off its second Knight Cities
Challenge this week, offering $5 million in grants for ideas to help any of the
26 Knight cities around the U.S. * According to the challenge’s website,
knightcities.org , the ideas should be aimed at any or all of three
criteria:
Talent: Ideas that help cities attract and keep talented people.
Opportunity: Ideas that expand economic prospects by breaking down divides and connecting people.
Engagement: Ideas that spur connection and civic involvement." -- Wow! Go to the website... and you're met with this message: "There are presently no open calls for submissions."

L-E's " Thought for Today": “Nobody knows enough, but many know too much.”
— Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, Austrian author (1830-1916). -- Hmmm..
confirmation.. maybe even THE inspiration for President Reagan's oh so astute
observation that "know so many things that aren't so.”

The injury to the Southern University Jaguar player in the game with UGA
just conforms my objection to major colleges paying obviously "out-manned" lower
division schools a stipend to fill a wasted weekend for Roman Coliseum type
entertainment. Smaller schools do have talented players, just not the depth so
that adequate substitutions can be made during the game to keep starters from
getting needed rest.. a tired player is much more likely to get injured. Keep
praying for the young man,, and also for the NCAA to look into banning such
planned mismatches.
