Have you noticed that mainscream media is no longer interested in the status of the National Debt? Mainscream media harped daily as it rise to $10.5 TRILLION under Bush43, but seems unaware of it now approaching $18.5 TRILLION under Obamageddon.

Soapbox Moment: My bride and I watched "Black or White" last night via Netflix. It's a very good movie and addresses issues and fears we all experience.. Kevin Costner plays the role of a hurting, recently widowed grandfather of the girl his daughter died during childbirth, and his custody of the mixed race child is being threatened. The girls other grandmother orchestrates the court suit. In a poignant moment, Costner addresses a critical aspect of ethnic differences and political correctness.. He is challenged by the opposing lawyer that he has a problem with black people so his granddaughter should not be living with him.. Costner's response should send chills up each of our spines.. he hits the nail on the head when he expresses his perspective.. it's basically what we all feel. He said, sure, when he saw a black person for the first time, his first thought is that the person is black, but that's not what he should be judged on.. judgement should be made on his next thought,, then the next thought etc.. He also said, black people have the same first thought about white people. (more or less, our skin colors are part of our description). What Costner's script "says" is that we are all normal this way.. If we first think of the color of a person's skin when we first meet.. we're normal.. if that's the only thought, we are bigoted.. if we think of other attributes of the person we meet such as "attractive, impressive, their age, their smile, their demeanor, then we've moved on to humanize the other person, and that's what good relations are all about.. judging a person by his/her character, not his/her color. Wasn't this Dr. Martin Luther King's chief advocacy?

You know.. there's another smelly aspect about the Hospital Authority of Columbus "buying" the RiverMill Event Centre.. now it won't be taxed for city of school revenues..

Online headline/story: "Georgia’s ‘hub’ cities band together to promote themselves * The problems brought the cities together Wednesday, when the mayors of Columbus, Macon, Augusta, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody spoke together at a public forum. * (Columbus Mayor TomLYINGson said it’s possible people who live in Atlanta can be unaware of what’s going on in places like Columbus or Macon." -- Hmmm.. it's obvious that people , including those at the Columbus L-E are unaware of what's going on as well. Got this story from September 9th Macon Telegraph.

Online story: "The FOX 5 I-team has discovered State taxpayers paid more than $90,000 to pave a county road leading to Governor Nathan Deal's personal home. * State Patrol Commissioner Colonel Mark McDonough says the paving of the gravel road leading to the Governor's home was his idea." -- Excuse me, but since when has a State Patrol Official become an ad hoc member of the GA DOT?

Online headline/story: "US to focus more on executives, not just companies, in criminal casesUS to focus more on executives, not just companies, in criminal cases * The U.S. Justice Department has issued new guidelines that emphasize prosecuting individual executives in white-collar crime cases, and not just their corporations." --Hmmm.. this could actually be progress.. punish the wrong-doer, not the pension plans of IRA retirement holders.. You know, this really could be the start of something "BIG".. perhaps the DOJ will go after individual politicians rather than punish taxpayers.

Online headline: "Senate's move to block Obama's Iran deal fails * A GOP-backed measure to derail the Iran nuclear deal was blocked in the Senate on Thursday, marking a major victory for the president. * Republicans are plotting next move" -- Republicans are plotting next move"? Good grief.. the Republican leadership should have never voted on the Iran Deal under any other pretense than it is the treaty it is, and all treaties must have a 2/3rds support of the Senate as spelled out in the Constitution.

Online story: "A wave of criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike rose Thursday after GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump insulted the physical appearance of Carly Fiorina, his party's only female White House contender. * Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said the billionaire real-estate mogul "seems to delight in insulting women every chance he gets." -- Hmmm.. well, insults of Porkchop HILLary certainly aren't limited to her physical appearance, but any such insults Trump makes definitely cannot compete with the insults Bill made whenever he brought tramps into his marriage or in the people's Oval Office... Now, what is really important here is that Trump is showing he can unite Republicans and Democrats in working together, but.. isn't that exactly the sign of leadership the office of the President needs?

L-E headline: "Seth Harp challenges Mayor to tax freeze debate" -- Hope the first two questions are why Mayor TomLYINGson worries about raising residences taxes, but pushes for CSU and various Authorities to buy more large properties that take them off the tax digest. When those properties were inprivat hands, property taxes were collected for the City and MCSD.. putting them in the hands of tax-exempt hands eliminates the tax revenues but not the communities responsibility for police and fire protection.. or road maintenance.

L-E story: "Friends of Historic Claflin has made some progress toward its goal of renovating the old school building on Fifth Avenue at Linwood Boulevard. But the group is currently stuck in a holding pattern, waiting for the federal government to grant it nonprofit status. * The group has managed to get the building, which is on the site of the first public school for black children in Columbus, listed on the Georgia Register of Historic Places." -- Sorry.. Claflin was not the first school for black students..that honor is marked by a historic marker on the west side of 1st Ave between 12th St & 13th St.

L-E headline: "UN Security Council OKs Syria chemical probe" -- Hmmm.. bet
ASSwad has told the UN where he will stick that "probe".
---
L-E headline: "Alabama House approves 25-cent per pack cigarette tax
increase to close budget gap" -- Hmmm.. and maybe the Alabama House should order
them to be available on high school and Ccollege campuses to increase the number
of smokers...
---
L-E headline: "Court: Suspected gang member allegedly threatened officers"
-- How can the charges stick? Mayor TomLYINGson campaigned for re-election based
on there being no gang problems in Columbus.
