Online story: "The lawyer for a Kentucky county clerk who refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses said his team filed on Sunday a notice of appeal over a contempt ruling that landed her in jail." -- There seems to be quite a bit of confusion about why Kim Davis, the clerk in KY who has been jailed for not issuing same-sex marriage licenses because it is against her religious beliefs. She was not arrested for breaking a law.. she's in jail because a judge found her in contempt of a court ruling..that is why she sits in jail with no bond having been set. This is going to get more interesting as her lawyers are appealing the contempt charge. Ms Davis's situation is on a par with Rosa Parks not giving up her seat on the bus in the 1950's..her constitutional rights have been compromised.

In another comparison, Kim Davis is in a rarified atmosphere.. as she is in the same boat with Rosa Parks, she has the cougars of  her convictions similar to Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teen who was shot by the Taliban for standing up for girls getting an education, or the Amish student, Marian Fisher, 13, who stepped forward and asked the man who invaded her one-room school that he "shoot me first" rather than deny God.
