The Breakfast Club - August 19, 2010

The number one issue I see with potUS Imam-a is that he has no respect, no reverence for the office.
---
L-E headline: "AP: Poll shows Obama earns lowest marks yet; economy cited" -- Pretty soon, even the McClatchy and CNN Polls will match the Fox News Polls.
---
L-E headline/story: "A year after bankruptcy, GM plans stock sale * The company said it had no plans to pay dividends on its common stock and future dividends would be determined by its board of directors. * Francis Gaskins, president of IPOdesktop.com, said GM's decision to sell preferred shares rather than common stock is a sign that it is having trouble attracting interest from investors and felt the need to sweeten the offering with the preferred dividends. "Only a company that's not strong would do that," he said. "It's a tip-off that the investment community needs something special." -- To put it in perspective, would you want the government to be your main partner? Would you prefer to buy stock in the US Postal Service or UPS/FED-EX?
---
Online headline: "22 Cities like Utica, N.Y., prime for a double-dip recession" -- Hmmm, wonder why the article didn't mention which party the mayors are?
---
Will the desecration of Ground Zero ever be known other than 'the Hamas-que'?
---
Where are new York Senators Schumer and Gillibrand on the issue of building 'the Hamas-que'?
---
Online headline: "Obama Says Economy Is Coming Back Slowly" -- Yeah, in spite of potUS Nero-Imam-a's attempts to sabotage it completely!
---
How can a judges say falsifying a military record or medal is not criminal? Not only is the liar a miserable creep, it demeans the valor of those who earned it; especially those who were honored posthumous.
---
Did you see where San Francisco has banned the use of pictures of guns in advertising? An ad for Will Ferrell's new movie in which he has a gun in both hands has been redrawn with him holding cans of pepper spray. Wonder what San Francisco will require of a Dirty Harry marathon, that Harry carry a .45 magnum slingshot?
---
An online story listed 25 companies accounting for 700,000 'lost jobs' since the recession started. Of note is that the only government entity making the list was the Postal Service, and let's be open...Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac & Congress have been the largest contributors to job losses in the private sector, and the growth of government is not only a millstone on the recovery, it's totally insensitive to be growing at all.
---
L-E headline/story: "Booker T. Washington Apartments may be redeveloped * The (Columbus Housing Authority) board delayed action on adding $230,000 to an existing contract with the Boulevard Group, a consulting firm that would write the grant if the Housing Authority pursued federal help to redevelop the area. * Planning for the next step will take at least six months. At a cost of some $250,000 to $300,000, the Housing Authority hopes to apply for a grant next year or in 2012." -- Don't you wonder why it would cost $300,000.00+/- to apply for a grant? Wouldn't a phone call to Congressman Bishop's office be cheaper?
---
Online headline: "Grand Prince of All Russia' Sues to Get Kremlin Back" -- You know, if he filed it in California, he'd at least win through the US 9th District, and have 4 votes on the US Supreme Court.
---
L-E headline: "Quality-of-life cancer care extends life expectancy, study shows * Patients lived 3 months longer than those with only standard cancer care" -- While life is indeed precious, do you think 3 months is justifiable for the additional costs? What do you think HELL-thScare evaluators will think if they were deciding about you or your parent?
---
L-E "soundoff": "Please tell me those baseball all-stars are doing school work while they are out-of-town. I’d hate for them to be missing out on anything they should be learning. " -- They are learning. They are learning what fun it is to be living the dream of every child who has stepped out on a baseball field, and they are learning how stupid it is for our schools to be opened before Labor Day.
---
A worthy "soundoff": "If we have freedom of religion anywhere, any place, any time, why do we not have prayer in school, prayer at ball games?" -- Amen.
---
I'm surprised at the reaction I've gotten about people not knowing Nathan Deals's daughter being married to a Columbus man (in fact, a cousin of my wife). Maybe y'all might have seen her perform at the Springer; most recently at "Patsy Cline". Yes, that was her.
---
Picture caption in the L-E: "U.S. Torture Program Probed" -- Some liberal bloggist will read this and accuse the CIA of torturing with probes.
---
L-E headline: "Medicare drug plans to see modest premium hike" -- Who'd a guessed... How can Social Security deny a 'cola' based on too little inflation to justify it, but Medicare can raise premiums because of inflation?
---
L-E headline/story: " Federal court says state’s road crosses are violation * SALT LAKE CITY — The 14 crosses erected along Utah roads to commemorate fallen state Highway Patrol troopers convey a state preference for Christianity and are a violation of the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court said Wednesday." -- Whoever initiated this case must have a miserable (if any at all) life! Hopefully, the US Supreme Court will rule correctly, but if not, Arlington is probably the (_@_)'s next cause.
---
With the exposure the Northern LL team will bring to Columbus via it's nationally televised baseball games from Williamsport, Council could more easily justify paying the parents for their trip expenses than paying for the Parks&Rec travel teams, but they won't because it's not Council's place to do so with taxpayer dollars. Support the team at www.northernll.org .
---
L-E headline: " AP Poll: BP image recovering from spill" -- Looks like 'big oil' has a better reputation than potUS Imam-a or Congress. Guess it's because people can actually see good results.
---
The UAR is wanting to ban the use of Blackberry 'smart phones'.... hey, doesn't potUS Imam-a use a Blackberry? In fact, didn't he make a pretty big scene about not giving it up? So much for his bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia.
