The Breakfast Club - August 25, 2010

Looking at the quietness of the mayoral race candidates, it looks like the main two choices will be Mother Teresa Obamalinson or Paul Oh-Nolson (and which one is not a DIM/DUMBorat)
---
Mother Teresa Obamalinson bothers me the most. After her lead in trying to get a referenDUMB passed where tax dollars would be used to build houses at inflated prices in bad neighborhoods in Midtown, how can we let her sink her teeth into the 2 slush funds created by the last LOST tax?

Online headline/story: "The 15 Most Bedbug-Infested Cities in the US" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought this was about the campaign itinerary of Bill Clinton's first election...ooops, it does follow pretty darn close.
---
Speaking of which, the election results of the 15 cities named in the story ALL suppoted potUS Imam-a in 2008.
---
Online headline: "Newly Discovered Oil-Eating Microbe Flourishing in Gulf" -- Just as with the sparrow, God provides; God works in mysterious ways
---
The revelation of the greed and deceit within the Parks and Recreation Department management is certainly nothing to be proud of for the City, but exposure by our own City auditors is certainly something we can be thankful for. Who can imagine how much more damage would have occurred in the future if this situation went on undetected/unaddressed, and had become exposed only by some tragic happening? Thanks, too, to Chuck Williams bringing it to the public forum.
---
I'm writing this last night, but will still be livid when I send it out this morning.

One of the Little League World Series announcers was talking about the Mexican team being from Nuevo Laredo, just across the border from Laredo, Texas. He then added that 4 of the Mexican players attend school in Texas. Excuse me.... How could Little League Inc let this go uninvestigated! Children from Phenix City cannot play ball in Columbus Little Leagues (and vice versa), and children from Phenix City would pay dearly to attend school in Columbus. I think the international reach of LL Baseball Inc is wonderful, but this stinks!!!

Online story: "BEIJING (Aug. 24) -- A massive traffic jam in north China that stretches for dozens of miles and hit its 10-day mark on Tuesday stems from road construction in Beijing that won't be finished until the middle of next month, an official said." -- Who'da guessed our traffic engineer was moonlighting in China?
---
Online headline: "Jimmy Carter Traveling to N. Korea to Try to Free American" -- Hmmm, wonder if anyone is thinkin 'prisoner swap/photo-op'?
---
An extremely worthy L-E "soundoff": : Jimmy Carter is going to North Korea to seek release of an American who crossed into North Korea illegally. The man was sentenced to 8 years at hard labor. In the U.S. we turn our head at illegals." -- This is hitting the nail on the head.

Looks like the city is in a real fund raising mode. First was the hugely successful set-up on the JR Allen Parkway, and now they are sitting radar it the bottom of River Road just passed River Road School an hour+ after the kids have started classes in order to take advantage of suburban drivers thinking the speed zone times have expired, but the signs/flashing lights just haven't been changed for the new times school starts.
---
Wow! Sean Connery is now oo80, and still the true James Bond.
---
The unreal 10 day traffic jam in China has been caused by the transition from a communist based economy to a capital based economy. potUS Imam-a should take a lesson from the Chinese.
---
L-E's " Q U O T A B L E": “As a rule we disbelieve all the facts and theories for which we have no use.” Gustave Flaubert French author (1821-1880) -- Ah! The inspiration of the DIM/DUMBorat campaign digest, "The Liberal Manifesto for DIM/DUMBies"; it is no coincidence Flaubert happened to be French.
---
While the pitcher and catcher are responsible for masking their signal system for calling for what pitch should be thrown, a runner on second base could cause more damage by signaling what he's seen to the batter. A batter thinking the pitcher is going to throw a curve ball may not be prepared enough to dodge a high and inside fast ball if the signs are misread by the runner on second base.
---
L-E headline: "U.S. investigates Jeep gas tank fires" -- Since the bailout/takeover, isn't this investigation more like Layers or Doctors or Congresspersons investigating themselves?
