For the first time, Penn State players have their name stitched on the
backs of their jerseys. After yesterday's loss to Ohio University (that's not
Ohio State University) of the Mid American Conference, the players may want to
take their identifying numbers off.

The UGA STAFF needs to have a discussion with the TV announcers.
When Malcome made his first run, the announcers started comparing the difference
of his style vs Crow-well. This will be the only mention of him this year by me,
and it should be the LAST time TV announcers do also.

On ESPN Game Day highlighting the Bama-Mich game, some sicko held up a
sign, "Bama - 1, Tree - 0". Bet he doesn't bring that to Toomer's Corner.
---
Remember when I reported that www.barackobama.com e-mailed me to tell me
this may be the last time I hear from him? Well, King Arpege has broken ANOTHER
promise.. I've received 6 more in the last two days.

One of the true purposes of college/university life is to expose students
to situations that will face them in real life once they leave their campus.
Obviously, this is not true on at least 40 plus college campuses Instead of
allowing students to grow, define themselves, to accept other people for who
they are, and tolerate, even celebrate their differences, these 40+ college
campuses have shut down Chick-fil-A operations. Instead of letting students
decide for themselves whether to be tolerant of all, the 40+ college campuses
have made the decision to throw the 'homosexual trump card' into the mix.
Instead of developing students' minds to think, these colleges have truly
snuffed the light of truth, the quest for learning, and the journey of
education. My children will not be on any such campuses.
---
In a nutshell, these, and probably more in the next few weeks, colleges
allow cigarettes to be sold in college student centers, wink an eye at alcohol,
recreational drug use, and promiscuity, yet decide students can't decide whether
to support Chick-fil-A or their Constitutionally guaranteed right of free
speech.

No one truly appreciates anything they are given for free. Whether it be
entitlements, education, healthcare, or freedom, unless you understand the
source of such, unless you understand the cost of such, you'll only want more
but will not know how to provide these things for either yourself or
others.

Rode by the new Carver High School this past week. It's truly a great
looking facility. Lets hope the MCSD will re-define its budget to include a
maintenance budget that will insure that the new Carver will last longer than
the old one.

L-E headline: "Dalton, nation's 'carpet capital', struggles to recover *
Dalton has lost more jobs per capita than any other U.S. city". -- Forget any
government generated facts or reports on how the housing industry is doing. The
only indicators worth following are the carpet industry, and when you become
concerned, again, about how many "semi's" blow by you on the interstate highways
hurrying to their destinations.
---
L-E story: "Tuscaloosa, Ala. -- State Agriculture Commissioner John
McMillan wants the Justice Department to investigate possible irregularities in
Uniontown. * More people are registered to vote than live in the town" -- Two
things will become evident: 1- the Superintendent of Elections is a Democrat,
and the DOJ will not suggest that photo IDs would stop this problem.
---
L-E headline: "Dems hope to reignite 2008's enthusiasm when selling vision"
-- It's gonna be a tough job trying to reignite the flame when they are trying
to light the fire with wind-generated power... their hot-air wind keeps blowing
out the flames.
---
Rodney Mahone says that without the L-E, "it's likely you'd never know that
a local judge was being investigated, or city leaders were diverting taxpayer
dollars into private accounts, or that a school official had failed to report
criminal behavior by a teacher." WRONG!.... We find out, and more often than
not, we find out before it makes the L-E. I just wish the L-E really was an
investigative news source, and that the L-E presented stories and facts when
smoke starts to appear, and not wait until the story is engulfed in full-fledged
flames. One great ongoing example is how little attention the L-E has paid to
the SPLOST revenue shortages of the MCSD.
---
It's rather disheartening to taxpayers to see full page medical ads
advertising their products are free to government workers and retirees. There
was nothing 'free' to taxpayers who have paid for such benefits. If you are a
non-government worker/retiree, boycott such businesses.

It's early, but the Mississippi State Bulldogs seemed to have more bite
than the UGA ones.

Am opening up this blog for reader comments. Post responsibly, and identify yourself so others know who is saying what.
Some people like to "snipe" while concealed in the shadows.. those people are not worthy of having their comments addressed nor published.
For info sake.. recently, viewer numbers have eclipsed 29,000 on six continents (all but Antarctica).
Am foregoing advertising to bring you clutter free news and opinion.
