You know.. some people look at new iPhones as they would an icon made of gold. Is there more to the Apple symbol, an apple with a bite taken from it, than meets the eye?

Online story: "Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius violated federal law when she campaigned this winter for President Obama, federal investigators announced Wednesday. * One of the imperatives is to make sure that we not only come together here in Charlotte to present the nomination to the president, but we make sure that in November, he continues to be president for another four years," Sebelius said, according to the agency and reported first by The Hill newspaper. * The agency said Sebelius’ comments violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits public officials from campaigning in an official capacity." -- Once again, there should be a law prohibiting any government employee from voting in races of the level that determines their job status or salary.

---

L-E story: "Protesters in Libya and Egypt stormed US diplomatic missions Tuesday. One American was killed when militants stormed the US consulate in Libya's second largest city, Benghazi." -- Well, when militants see the US president bow and kowtow to their sleazy leaders, what motive is there for them to restrain themselves?

Dueling online headlines:

"How Many Times Has President Obama Cuts Taxes On Small Business?

-- Hmmm, trick question.

"President Obama: I've Cut Taxes On Small Business 18 Times In Last 4 Years" -- Hmmm, trick answer.

---

Online headline: "White House Says There Is No Rift With Israel Over Iran" -- The White House also says GM is profitable, and the VOLT carries the future of automobiles.

---

Online headline: "US Census Finds 46.2 Million Living In Poverty As Median Income Drops" -- Only because the data is two years old and King Arpege wants at least one of the popularity polls within the DIM&DUMBERat Party to show him gaining.

---

L-E headline: "U.S. CENSUS * Report shows middle class shrinks to all-time low * 46.2 million living in poverty in 2011" -- Leave to the L-E to misdirect the facts! The headline above this has been manipulated.

---

The latest form barackobama.com: "Please take a moment to commit to vote this fall, and get at least one other person to do the same." -- For once I could honestly promise him I would work my butt off to get everyone I know to the polls....

---

From the 'remember when' department: "Why hasn't the name of the CB&T executive who authorized/opened up the checking account for past Parks&Rec head Tony Adams been released? The account was opened using a city exempt number, so there has to be some covert action involving the bank executive & Adams.

Online story: "The toppling of Nicolas Sarkozy by François Hollande, the first socialist president to lead the country in 17 years, has sent ripples of fear through the wealthier arrondissements of Paris * Mr Hollande plans to implement a 75pc tax rate on earnings over €1m (£800,000), on top of a 45pc rate for people making €150,000 or more. He is also expected to raise "wealth taxes" on property assets and end his predecessor's tax incentives to lure bankers back home. * The annual mass exodus from the French capital sees the city's inhabitants while away the August heat in the countryside. * But this week many of the biggest earners across the Channel have been mulling a départ which could be rather more permanent. " -- You know, King Arpege has an affinity for the French government as his ruling style.

---

Online headline: "President Obama Makes Bid For Beer-Drinker-In-Chief" -- Guess the new question is not what has he been drinking, but how much has he been drinking!

---

Guess we're lucky in a sense. Thank goodness King Arpege drinks beer and not the Kool-Aid he provides for his supporters. If he drank his own Kool-Aid, even he would start believing what he says.

---

L-E "Quoatable": "It takes less time to do a thing right than it does to explain why you did it wrong." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, American poet (1807-1882)" -- No wonder King Arpege wants a second (and probably a 3rd & 4th) term.

So McDonald's is going to start posting calories on its menus... bet the highest calory items flourish.
