Online story: "A story of former Notre Dame linebackerabout Manti Te'o's
girlfriend dying of leukemia, which the Notre Dame All-American credited with
inspiring him as he led the Fighting Irish to the BCS title game, turned out to
be a hoax apparently perpetrated against the linebacker, the school said
Wednesday. * The university issued a news release after Deadspin.com reported it
could find no record that Lennay Kekua ever existed. Te'o issued his own
statement, which appears below. * "This is incredibly embarrassing to talk
about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional
relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an
authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and
I grew to care deeply about her. -- Hmmm, "a hoax apparently perpetrated against
the linebacker"? After watching Te'o play in the BCS, Te'o may have emotionally
'hoaxed' the Heisman committee.

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- In a bold and potentially historic attempt to
stem the increase in mass gun violence, President Barack Obama unveiled on
Wednesday the most sweeping effort at gun control policy reform in a
generation." -- Why don't liberals and mainstream media understand that no law
will control guns of criminals, and the only effective laws are those that give
courts the power to better control criminals? Severe sentences for possession of
guns not legally purchased, life sentences for using/possessing a gun in any
crime, and death sentences for firing a gun during a crime would be a good start
to controlling illegal use of guns.

Online story: "NEW YORK — America's best-known banker is getting a big pay
cut. * JPMorgan Chase said Wednesday that it will dock the pay of CEO Jamie
Dimon by more than half, to $11.5 million from $23 million." -- Whoa! pot-US
Obluster ain't going to like losing a tax hike on $11.5 Million! Guess he'll
have to sign an Executive Order to make JPMorgan Chase re-instate his
salary.

Online story: "A pitcher found during an Israeli archaeological dig may
shed light on a biblical mystery that has gone unsolved for thousands of years.
* The broken clay pitcher, discovered in a bed of ashes in the Tel Shiloh dig
site in Samaria, Israel, suggests that the ancient city -- once the de facto
capital city and spiritual center of ancient Israel -- was burned to the ground,
the Tazpit News Agency reports. * From the news outlet: The ashes found attest
to a devastating fire the occurred at the site. The dating of the clay pitcher,
1,050 BCE, correlates with the dating of the events depicted in Book of Samuel.
* As the Oxford Biblical Studies archive notes, the city of Shiloh was a
religious sanctuary around the 12th century B.C.E., until it was captured by the
Philistines. The Ark of the Covenant, containing the Ten Commandments, was also
kept in Shiloh during this time. * Israel has announced numerous archeological
finds in the past few years. In May, it was announced that evidence seemed to
support the existence of Bethlehem before the birth of Jesus." -- Hmmm, "The
ashes found attest to a devastating fire the occurred at the site. The dating of
the clay pitcher, 1,050 BCE, correlates with the dating of the events depicted
in Book of Samuel.".... It's the Bible, it's the truth. Hmmm, "evidence seemed
to support the existence of Bethlehem before the birth of Jesus."...... when
did the doubters think Bethlehem began existence...during the making of a Cecil
B. DeMille epic?

Germany kept its massive gold reserves in America and France out of fear
the Soviets might invade Germany again. Now Germany wants to take its gold home.
Guess Germany's current fear is pot-US Obama and
France's Francois Hollande might invade its 'piggy banks'.

From a Mike Huckabee newsletter: "At over 2,700 pages — with an additional
13,000 pages of regulations (so far)— the ObamaCare law is
longer than the Bible and far more demanding in its requirements and taxes!" --
Maybe pot-US Obluster feels he's more important than God....
---
What's it up to now? The "debt investment" that pot-US Obluster has piled
on... About $6 TRILLION? I'm ready for a little "return on our
investments".
---
You know, I would think the military has pretty good systems in place to
spot mentally shaky people in gun conditions, BUT it didn't stop the Army from
promoting Nidal Malik Hasan to Major nor stop him from killing fellow soldiers
for which there were laws/rules against.
---
It's not necessary for both parties to agree on how we get somewhere, but
it is necessary for both parties to have a common goal. The problems we have now
are that the Democrats do not have a goal past the next election cycle.
---
So background checks for buying ammo is part of the new New York gun
laws... There is already a "check" available on such. My guns are already
registered, and I wouldn't mind if my ownership of a type of gun was computer
checked before I could purchase more ammo. In fact, I wouldn't mind if I had to
produce combination "photo ID" just to buy ammo & vote.
---
You know, between NY Governor Cuomo and NYC Mayor Bloomberg
restricting/banning the use of so many everyday consumer products, I expect soon
that the NYPD will only allowed to use low-gram Nerf bullets.
---
Hey, I know how to stop gun abuse! All pot-US Obluster needs to do is write
an Executive Order to make stealing guns and ammo a crime!
---
From a fellow BCer:
-- Hmmm, looks like pot-US Obluster photo-shopped himself in.
---
pot-US Obluster has charged the CDC to make gun violence a disease. Guess
that's what you have to think since the CDC sole purpose is to identify and find
cures for diseases.
---
Another thanks to a fellow BCer:

Glad to see the head of the Columbus Housing Authority backing down over
building 3-story low-income apartments towering over single family homes in a
nice neighborhood. If the Housing Authority wants its clients to move into
better neighborhoods, the Housing Authority should encourage them to work
harder.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Don’t pretend
that reasonable restriction on gun owners is the same as taking away our guns
and repealing the Second Amendment." -- Having 1000s of existing laws
prohibiting the misuse of guns should be more than enough to restrict such use,
but liberals don't want criminals subjected to sentences that fit the
crime.
---
Another lib's L-E "soundoff": "Man:
Intelligent human who destroys his environment; wants to kill his fellow man,
but not help him; and is kind to dogs (his own). Isn’t it time to reexamine the
true meaning of our existence? " -- What a pathetic existence this lib
lives. His glass is neither half-full nor half-empty; hope his mental state is
on file if he tries to buy a gun.
---
L-E story: "ATLANTA — Georgia labor officials say the state's
seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has risen slightly to 8.6 percent." --
Hmm, as Gomer Pyle was apt to say, "Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!". I'll add the
"Not!". All those part time Christmas jobs are put back on the shelves until
next November when the pot-US Obluster spinmeisters will claim they have created
all these new jobs so the economy is swinging.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “A politician is a person with
whose politics you don’t agree; if you agree with him he’s a statesman.” — David
Lloyd George (1863-1945). -- Hmmm, Things have changed... now there's another
truism in the mix, if a politician can't get along with his own base, he's a
re-elected DUMBERat.
---
L-E story: "CHARLESTON, S.C. — Former South Carolina Gov.
Mark
Sanford, whose political career was derailed four years ago because of his
affair with an Argentine woman, is attempting an improbable comeback. *
Once mentioned as a potential 2012 GOP
presidential contender, the 52-yearold Republican announced Wednesday he will
run for his old congressional seat in his home district along the South Carolina
coast. Sanford, a penny-pinching conservative long before the tea party
movement, said he is done apologizing for the affair and wants to restore
“fiscal sanity” to Washington. He believes voters are ready to give him another
shot in office." -- Who's going to fund him... the DNC? Sanford's about as
Republican as Florida's Charlie Crist.
---
L-E headline/story: "Alaska gun
bill threatens federal agents with arrest *
House Speaker Mike Chenault says federal law enforcement officers should be
arrested in Alaska if they attempt to enforce any future federal law banning
personal possession of assault rifles or large ammunition clips or if they
attempt to register any Alaska firearm" -- Now that's a gun bill worth passing
in Georgia as well!
---
L-E headline: "ALGERIA * Militants seize dozens of
hostages * Seven Americans among 41 hostages" -- Hmmm... Egypt,
Libya, Syria, and now Algeria... yep, pot-US Obluster's "Apology Tour" really
paved the way to new Arab-American relationship improvements. Now, none of the
Arab states fear the US out of respect.
---
It's a sad state when the
DA's office asks a jury of of people the DA''s office has had a hand in picking
to define what an individual parent can-or-can't decide when evaluating her
child's discipline needs.
---
L-E headline: "ASSOCIATED PRESS-GFK POLL * Poll: Rage over
Connecticut tragedy tops Sept. 11" -- How sick to compare emotional response to
two very different events!
The only fair poll
question in this comparison is whether Americans want to ban airplanes as
well.
---
L-E headline: "ER visits tied to energy drinks double since ’07 "
-- Hmmm, could it be as simple as that "high energy drink" sales have
quintupled-or-more in the last 6 years? In that case, ER visits are down in
relativity.
---
As attractive and exciting as the rooftop "Living
Room' bar is, will pedestrians walking below feel the same after a few "heaves"
over the wall in the wee
hours?
---
Maybe there should be a law about how long one can
pick at a sleeping dog or kick at a dead horse. I was a Synovus investor and
took a heavy loss, but that doesn't mean I have to 'hate' a man who has helped
mankind in many other ways, Wonder if Hyatt checked to see how much financial
loss Blanchard and his family sustained?
---
From the 'does anyone actually care' department -
L-E headline: "Oprah is ‘satisfied’ with
Armstrong’s answers" -- About either Armstrong's answers or Oprah's opinion of
such.
---
L-E 'item": "Justin Probst aced the par-3 17th hole on Bull
Creek’s West Course on Jan. 12. * He
used a 6-iron for the 175-yard shot while playing with Jeffery May, AustenFulmer
and Mike and Wallace Fortenberry. " -- Hmmm, since when does Bull Creek allow
five-somes?
---
L-E headline: "FAA
GROUNDS BOEING 787S " -- Hmmm, maybe Boeing didn't donate enough to the DNC or
pot-US Obluster last
year....
