pot-US Obluster has announced the theme of
his inauguration is "Our people, our future"... Had George W. Bush said that,
Algore, Kerry, Sharpton, Jackson and mainstream media sources would have ripped
Bush apart as a racist!
---
Online headline: "'Less Festive' Inauguration Planned * High unemployment
and partisan fights have reportedly sapped the president's second ceremony of
the momentum it had in Jan. 2009." -- What spinmeister BS... The two things
effecting pot-US Obluster's party are that less money has been donated,
and fewer DUMBERats want to be near him.
---
Online headline: "Republicans Lying Low for Inauguration" -- Hmmm as
opposed to DUMBERats and media just lying outright?
---
Online story: "WICHITA, Kan. -- The American Civil Liberties Union ended
its legal challenge Friday to a Kansas law restricting private health insurance
coverage for abortions. * The agreement follows a federal judge's Jan. 7 ruling
that, as a matter of law, the ACLU failed to provide any evidence that the
Legislature's predominant motivation in passing the 2011 law was to make it more
difficult to get abortions. * The Kansas law prohibits private insurance
companies from offering coverage for abortions in their general plans except for
when a woman's life is in danger. Kansas residents or employers who want
abortion coverage must buy supplemental policies, known as riders. * A court
filing shows the parties have agreed to dismiss all remaining claims, with each
side bearing its own costs and attorneys' fees." -- Wait a minute! Who's bearing
the costs against Kansas and American taxpayers? Courts should come down hard on
the ACLU whenever a case they file is dropped or not fully won.
---
Online story: "Walmart's announcement that it will hire 100,000 veterans
over the next five years has prompted a wide range of reactions" -- Hmmm, by the
end of pot-US Obluster's second term, Walmart may have a bigger army than
Obluster.
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON -- A new group made up mostly of Democrats and
independents has formed to pressure defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel on
LGBT and other social issues, questioning whether he is truly committed to
providing equal rights. * Dubbed "Use Your Mandate," the group already has
raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to a source close to the
group who declined to be named in order to speak openly. Use Your Mandate has
already sent out a mailer to 350,000 people that says Hagel's "extremist" views
on Israel, guns, women's reproductive rights and LGBT issues make him the "wrong
choice" for secretary of defense. There is also an anti-Hagel banner ad from the
group running on Politico's website, asking whether he's really "the best person
for the job." -- Maybe there is a chance Congress will be effective this term...
this is the first thing both parties have disagreed with pot-US Obluster
on...
---
In the spirit of the apology tour, It's rumored Bill Clinton is trying to
get on Oprah to apologize for once telling the truth.
---
Online headline/story: "Obama: Algeria Crisis 'Another Reminder' Of Al
Qaeda Threat * "The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the
families of all those who were killed and injured in the terrorist attack in
Algeria," Obama said in a written statement, his first comment on the hostage
crisis." -- "The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the
families of all those who were killed and injured in the terrorist attack in
Algeria,"? Of course, what pot-US Obluster didn't say was that he had provided
most of the weapons to the killers.
---
Online headline: "The Four (Controversial) Words Added To The Official
Presidential Oath" -- "So help me God" are controversial words? God, help this
person. Amen.
---
Now there seems to be a controversy over which brand of shoes pot-US
Obluster will wear for his second inauguration. Seems Allen Edmonds supplied
the inauguration shoes for Reagan, Bush41&43, and even Clinton, but pot-US
Obluster went for some Nike/Cole-Haan shoes in his first inauguration. Now, Nike
has sold off Cole-Haan, and Allen Edmonds is appealing to pot-US Obluster to
"Buy American" and use AE shoes. Hmmm, I didn't know Allen Edmonds made pairs of
shoes with 2 left ones...
---
Online story: "Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o tells ESPN that the person
who created the fake online girlfriend that has become the talk of the college
football season in recent days has apologized to him for the hoax." -- Hmmm,
don't you know Notre Dame is hoping to get an apology from Te'o for wearing the
Irish's uniform?
---
Hmmm, if Te'o gets drafted and plays in an NFL game, when the defense
huddles to set the its play, and holds hands, do you think the other 10 players
will leave an open spot for Te'o's girlfriend?
---
We're watching a comedy movie on HBO ... It's rated PG-13 for Violence,
Language, and Adult Content. The opening scene has a half dozen gun deaths, and
a man falling off a tall hotel. Later, the pixie leading lady gets sexual with
two different men. It's called "This is War". In reality, Hollywood has declared
'war' on our morality; don't you love what Hollywood deems acceptable for our
children and grandchildren to watch?
---
Romney did not get enough votes to win. Think about this. I haven't seen
numbers of the voters who actually cast their ballots on Election Day, but I'll
bet Romney won handsomely from those who did so. pot-US Obluster won because his
minions used the pre-election early voting days to get buses full of
entitlement-dependent voters to an early voting precinct.
---
I'll bet there were a bunch of liberals crying "it's Bush's fault" when
Tiger Woods got cut at Abu Ghraib, uh, Dhabi.
---
You know, after listening to medicine ads on TV, I am not sure the side
effects don't outweigh any possible good those medicines are prescribed
for.
---
Why is it that whenever a DUMBERat tries to introduce a new spending bill,
he/she talks about how much the spending today will save 10 years from
now?
---
Coke may have blundered into another free advertising bonanza. In the 80s,
when Coke brought out "New Coke", the media flogged Coke for months until Coke
rescinded. Now media is blasting Coke for running its"obesity" ad campaign, and
parsing Coke's reasons. Like in the 80s, Coke "jest sits there an' don' say
nothin" ..... and laughs all the way to the bank.
---
Seems "swatting" is the latest fad in Hollywood. An anonymous cell call to
911 saying an intruder with a gun has been seen entering a celebrity home gets
the S.W.A.T.team dispensed fully armed with their assault weapons. Guess
Hollywood directors are checking to see if their movie scenes out swat S.W.A.T.
---
So Homeland Security wants to stop the full body scanners at airports. All
those previously 100s of million wasted tax dollars will now be wasted again as
junk.
---
Pot-US Obluster's spinmeisters were out in force on the TV talk circuit to
spin the real inflation rates. Paychecks are down an average of $40.00 bucks a
week, but corporate checking accounts are hit with an additional " matching"
$40.00 a week as well.
---
I just saw a medical person demonstrating the human cough and how far germs
carry from a cough. He actually had a full sized male mannequin "coughing" a
powder substance to emulate cough particles. The mannequin was even fully
dressed including a cap! Surely an aerosol can of water vapor could do the same
job at less initial and ongoing maintenance costs...and surely cheaper than
buying it clothes.

Talk about another union nightmare, now it' s being revealed that non-union
crews wanting to help clean up after Hurricane Sandy are not being allowed to do
so. I feel pretty sure that's neither the action nor attitude of the
generalembership, so why are workers coerced to join one.
---
Oh, NJ DUMBERats passed a law prohibiting non-union crews from helping
clean up after Hurricane Sandy. Oh, it seems the leader of the NJ Senate
DUMBERats is a union boss as well.
---
Lance Armstrong says he wants to compete in bike races again. He even says
he deserves the opportunity. WRONG! He had an opportunity, and didn't respect
it.
---
A fellow BCer has sent along a nice recap of the situation we have
today:
According to Senator Feinstein, so-called
assault weapons have been used in 385 murders since the AWB expired in 2004, or
about 48 murders per year. But there were 8,583 total
murders with guns in the
United States in 2011, meaning so-called assault weapons were used 0.6% of the
time.
Further illustrating the small role so-called
assault weapons play in crime, FBI data
shows that 323 murders were
committed with rifles of any kind in 2011. In comparison, 496 murders were
committed with hammers and clubs, and 1,694 murders were perpetrated with
knives.

Online story: "House Budget Committee
Chairman Paul Ryan just got a letter from the White House that comes as
regularly as a Christmas card. Obama’s Acting Budget Director sent a letter
informing Congress that the White House will miss the required legal deadline of
February 4th for submitting a budget. It says they’re “working diligently,” but
they were delayed by all those fiscal cliff meetings" -- At least Bill Clinton
waited until after he'd taken office for two weeks before he apologized for not
being able to figure out a tax cut he promised while campaigning... he even shed
a tear as he told his followers that he was even going to have to raise their
taxes. pot-US Obluster is no Bill Clinton... come to think of it, Obluster is
not very American either.
---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus High students head to inauguration * (One
freshman said) “Not only do I get to miss a
whole week of school,” " -- Hmmm excuse me... at best, it's a two day drive by
bus. so if the bus left Saturday, the bus arrives today. The inauguration
ceremonies are Monday. The bus should leave Tuesday, and arrive back to Columbus
on Wednesday. Hmmm, does that mean missing school on Thursday and Friday are
unexcused absences?
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "I’m guessing Lance Armstrong is a Republican. " --
Probably not... if he was a Republican, and had gotten caught, he'd have come
clean, apologized, and stepped out of the
limelight.
---
L-E story: "With support from local business leaders, Columbus
Scholars Inc. held a scholarship signing ceremony for 10 new scholars Saturday
at the Columbus Museum. " -- Just curious, but how does the scholarship money
get distributed? If the scholar program is successful, all these kids will be
eligible for a HOPE Scholarship to a system college/university, so what are the
details?
---
Karl Douglass has finally declared his Democrat
persona; so isn't it about time the L-E reminds its readers that Karl Douglass's
commentary carries a Democratic Party bias?
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Four years ago, President Barack Obama
used his inaugural address to declare “an end to the petty grievances, and false
promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have
strangled our politics.” -- No wonder he campaigned on what he was going to do
rather than what he had
done.
---
Rumor has it that
the Alabama fight song will be updated by "Meatloaf" and the name changed to
"Three out of Four ain't
bad".
---
Stan "the Man"
Musial is no longer with us, but will never leave those who grew up when he
played. Wouldn't it be a tribute if one current MLB player (doesn't even have to
be a franchise star) would stick with one team for his entire
career?
---
Ironically, Earl
Weaver also passed yesterday. Hope this is not a trend of the best MLB role
models to leave us with the current
breed.
