The GOP is about to be sucker-punched... again .... on the immigration issue. When faced with an opportunity to take charge, it appointed a 4-some consisting of a rising star, Marco Rubio, but then added a Flake, and 2 toothless grumpy-old-white-men the media already doesn't like.

Online headline/story: "Missile Launcher Found at Buyback * SEATTLE — Seattle police worked with Army officials Monday to track down the history of a nonfunctional missile launcher that showed up at a weapons buyback program and determine whether it was legal or possibly stolen from the military. * The single-use device is a launch tube assembly for a Stinger portable surface-to-air missile and already had been used. As a controlled military item, it is not available to civilians through any surplus or disposal program offered by the government, according to (Detective Mark) Jamieson." -- Hmmm, a missile launcher which is "not available to civilians through any surplus or disposal program offered by the government", and Seattle police had a problem whether it was legal.... brilliant... NOT!

Online story: "Early reports that came to us at American Live Wire were stating that (a psycho) had shot the victims at the Sandy Hook Elementary school at close range with multiple hand guns, and possibly a shotgun. It wasn’t reported until later that the police had discovered an AR-15 assault rifle in the trunk of the car. This AR-15 was not used in the shooting, and police did not initially even know about its presence until conducting that further search." -- This is what I thought I heard initially, but there wasn't confirmation until now. This is how anti-gun wackos 'work'. They have taken 'chaos' and tried to override the truth with their agenda. Now the impact of the death of all those children has been cheapened by these anti-gun wackos. Of course, who is the most renown for advocating to take advantage of any chaos...former Clinton and pot-US Obluster 'hit man', Chicago's Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

pot-US Obluster has opened a door he might regret. His skittishness about hard knock football mimics the elitist disdain for "manning-up".

From a fellow BCer - The clip is from31 years ago, but dead on to now as then. Pass iot along to your friends and DUMBERats:
A 31 year old video clip ABSOLUTELY worth your time - dauckster's posterous

Did you get hit with a credit card surcharge this weekend? If merchants choose to do this, it will mean merchants will not be as aggressive in negotiating their "swipe fees" with the credit card issuers.

---

Online quote source: " The measure of success is not whether you have a tough problem to deal with, but whether it is the same problem you had last year.― John Foster Dulles -- Should this not be carved into every politician's desk at all levels, but especially in the Oval Office?

From a fellow BCer, a sexting photo from Manti Te'o's cell phone:

From another BCer: Online headline/story: "Public univ plans event to help female students achieve orgasm * The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities (UMTC) is set to hold an event this spring designed to help its female undergraduate students achieve more and greater orgasms. * The university’s official online description of the event entitled, “The Female Orgasm,” describes it as open to both male and female students." -- If you're paying for your child's (or even a grandchild's) college tuition, check closely at how much in student fees you're paying for in addition to the tuition. You may be paying for something like this. Write your state representatives to re-examine the fee structure and items your college deems essential to your child's education.

Online story: "NBC cites a number of "scouting officials and outsiders familiar with internal discussions" who say a revised BSA policy would not only lift the ban on gay participants from the national youth organization's rules, but also allow local sponsoring organizations to decide for themselves whether or not to admit gay scouts." -- Say it ain't so.... the adage that 'the times, they are a-changing' does not mean that any or all change is good.

Online story: "The New Republic editor Chris Hughes spoke out on Mark Zuckerberg's recently-announced fundraiser for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. * Hughes, who co-founded Facebook alongside Zuckerberg, told ABC News he had "a lot of questions" about Christie, particularly since the New Jersey governor had opposed same-sex marriage. * Hughes, who tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Sean Eldridge last year, said, "There are tens of thousands of couples in New Jersey that can’t share their love and be recognized under the law because of that decision." * He went on to note, "I’m not a single issue voter, and I think most people aren’t either, but for me personally, it would raise serious concerns about supporting someone like him.” -- When I hear anyone claim not to be "a single issue voter", I generally know that they are.The DUMBERat voter base is mainly made up of single-issue voters! The divisive nature of the Democratic Party base is evidence of such. No one person can be for all the issues the Democratic Party 'embraces' at election and fund raising times.

I sincerely hope that the Chamber is successful in keeping drastic cuts in personnel being made at Ft Benning, but for a different reason. I hope that Ft Benning remains in full compliment for the defense readiness of this country. I also hope the Chamber is more successful in this endeavor than in getting the full anticipated impact of BRAC.

Work hard, Chamber!

L-e story: " — New York City's "Don't Honk" signs are coming down, but it's still against the law to blow a car horn unnecessarily." -- Sounds like Mayor Bloomberg must think the signs are 'too sugary'.

---

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — As another debt-deal deadline looms this winter in Congress, an unusual alliance of lawmakers has joined forces to put the Pentagon budget under greater scrutiny and to end the almost carte blanche status it enjoyed in the years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. * In a letter last month to President Barack Obama and congressional leaders, 11 Democratic and 11 Republican lawmakers asked that Defense Department spending be put squarely on the table in the coming clashes over debt reduction." -- Why do the Republicans keep putting themselves in the line of Democratic Party sucker-punches? The DUMBERats are not going to compromise on anything the Republicans want, but when the smoke clears, Republicans will be blamed for what the DUMBERats wanted all along.

---

Best L-E printed "soundoff" in a long time: "How is it that you need a background check to own a gun but not to run the country? " -- The simple answer is that mainstream media would rather own a politician than a gun.

---

Typical liberal's L-E "soundoff": "The Senate has not produced a budget because Mitch McConnell and the GOP have filibustered every attempt since 2008" -- The low-info disease is far greater than we know or want to admit. Reid has not submitted a budget in 3 years simply because he doesn't want to put new caps on what they are already spending.

---

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — The Secret Service says one of its canines fell to its death at a New Orleans fundraiser where Vice President Joe Biden was speaking. " -- Rumor has it Biden immediately blamed Mitt Romney and called for the Romney's station wagon to be confiscated.

L-E story: "Two Europe-an science projects — one to map the intricacies of the human brain, the other to explore the extraordinary carbon-based material graphene — won an EU technology contest Monday, getting up to (euro) 1 billion ($1.34 billion) each over the next decade. * The Human Brain Project will use supercomputers 1,000 times more powerful than those today to create the most detailed model ever of the human brain." -- Hmmm, if a computer 1,000 times more powerful than those of today can be imagined and come to fruition, wouldn't the detailed model of the brain be moot?

---

Instant repeat - L-E story: "Two Europe-an science projects — one to map the intricacies of the human brain, the other to explore the extraordinary carbon-based material graphene — won an EU technology contest Monday, getting up to (euro) 1 billion ($1.34 billion) each over the next decade. * The other project will investigate the possible uses of graphene, the thinnest known material, which conducts electricity far better than copper, is perhaps 300 times stronger than steel and has unique optical properties. A sheet of it is one atom thick; scientists call it the first known two-dimensional material. " -- Excuse me, but if anything has measurable thickness aspects, wouldn't it be 3 dimensional? Let's hope that super computer is finished before the brain child who wants to give money for this project actually distributes the award.

Judy F. Brouillette, non-identified-as-such-by-the Ledger-Enquirer official of the Muscogee County Democratic Party, so aptly demonstrates the depth of the low-info voter every time she submits any comment for public viewing. It's disheartening to see what she and her followers believe.

---

L-E story: "ATLANTA — The University of Georgia has named one of its longtime administrators as the sole finalist to be the school’s president, state officials said Monday. " -- Hmmm, it the University of Georgia can (and did) look into it's own talent, why can't the MCSD board do the same?

L-E story: "

ATLANTA — Atlanta’s police chief is proposing city leaders draft legislation to banish convicted prostitutes from returning to areas in the city where they’ve already been arrested. * WAGA-TV reports Police Chief George Turner has asked the city council to approve a law aimed at ordering convicted prostitutes not to return to areas where they have been arrested. The proposed law calls for an offender to be rearrested if they are found in the same area where police initially took them into custody. * The legislation calls for a prostitute convicted for a second time to be banished from city limits forever." -- "The legislation calls for a prostitute convicted for a second time to be banished from city limits forever"? What happened to the Atlanta police chief's proposal to banish them the first time they are arrested. To think, with all the other problems that need to be dealt with, Atlanta and the legislature is trying to eliminate the oldest profession by sending them to other GA cities. Good luck with that.

L-E stories: 1 - BIRMINGHAM — This could be an important week in Jefferson County’s attempt to emerge from the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history.Al.com   reports that the county commission president and another commissioner will be in New York for meetings with hedge fund managers as they try to negotiate a deal." 2- BIRMINGHAM — The city of Birmingham expects to spend about $100,000 on a monument honoring “foot soldiers” of the civil rights movement." -- Is this a re-write of "A Tale of Two Cities"? No wonder Birmingham is fiscally bankrupt; it's morally bankrupt to spend money you don't have for something you don't need. Hey, pot-US Obluster, if Detroit is not enough of an omen of fiscal irresponsibility, you have Birmingham as another example of the destination you are taking the whole country in!

I enjoyed interacting with Willie Bowman; have plenty of pleasant memories of those exchanges through the years, but Willie is not what a Sports Hall of Fame should be about (unless separate abstract divisions are created for all aspects, and include one for obnoxious fans, and opportunistic politicians posing for photo-ops).

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Jobless Americans are paying millions in unnecessary fees to collect unemployment benefits because of state policies encouraging them to get the money through bank-issued payment cards, according to a new report from a consumer group. " -- Wait a minute! Jobless Americans are not paying those fees, taxpayers are supplying their tax dollars and politicians have come up with another way to divert a lot of those dollars to banks who donate back to politicians.
