Seems like 'action figures' for Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" are
causing quite an uproar among the usual suspects. Seems like Spike Lee and Al
Sharpton are upset at losing the "hate spotlight" to Tarantino. After all, what
preteen street thug wouldn't want to play with a character known for a line like
"getting paid to kill white folks...what's not to like", and of course Spike Lee
thinks no one should get more 'n-words' in a movie than he does.

Online headline: "Biden: White House Can Take 'Executive Action' On Guns"
-- Constitution be damned, full speed ahead! Veep Beep Biden says pot-US
Obluster is 'going to act" on some sort of gun control action; maybe even by
'executive order". (ACLU, are you listening?) Tell you what, let the White House
try its 'executive order' on Chicago first, since it already has the toughest
gun laws in America, and when Chicago gun deaths get lower than Andy Griffith's
"Mayberry", then, and only then will I possibly listen.

The Baseball Writers' Association of America took the 37 players nominated
for the Baseball Hall of Fame, and didn't pick even one for inclusion. Not bad
in a way since it emphasizes that getting elected is not a given for anyone.
Trouble is that of the 37 on the ballot, there were 13 names I had no
recollection/ no knowledge about them, and there was several I just raised my
eyebrow on about what standards it took to get on the ballot. Free agency has
taken a toll on the legacy of baseball.

A third skyscraper crane in New York City has collapsed/failed. 5 people
have died. Of note is that all 3 cranes were owned by the same person and
maintenance problems were similar. Now, the operators were all trained union
members. Why wouldn't on site union reps make sure ALL maintenance services were
proper, complete, and up-to-date?

Media only talks about the effect of Congress not extending the social
security tax is doing to personal paychecks. Media estimates the average check
reduction will amount to $1000.00 annually. WRONG! Don't forget that the
employers are MATCHING that $1000 as well, so twice that amount is leaving the
local economic cycles and sucked up into the government vacuum cleaner.

One online source said the annual budget for the US government was
$3,834,000,000,000.00. First, I wouldn't call it a "budget" because the Senate
hasn't voted on a budget in over 3 years because it doesn't want to cut back
growth on what was in the last official budget, so I think the correct
terminology is "spent/disbursed" $3,834,000,000,000.00. According to the source,
that's $29,401 per 130,400,000 households (and that's only the federal
expenditures. How many of you think you got your share of the $29K everyone
supposedly got?

No wonder we can't solve problems. No sooner than the attention of the
media on one DUMBERat crisis takes root, DUMBERats and potUS Oblunder throws
them another bone/crisis in the opposite direction.

L-E headline: "Troop plan in Afghanistan follows Iraq playbook" -- Well, I
sure the troops are just excited to know this as Auburn fans would be thrilled
to hear Malzahn plans to follow the Chizik playbook.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": Latest tea party news lie: Hillary Clinton hits
self in head with bat to create clot to keep from testifying before Congress."
-- Hmmm, my bet is that if Hillary knew how to swing a bat, she'd been a widow
while serving as First Lady in Arkansas, and we wouldn't know she existed
otherwise.
---
From the 'bad timing' department - According to the L-E story, the Columbus
Museum is going to host a "Dolley Madison squeeze party" later this month. This
should fill the "soundoff" column with 'Zingers' about "Twinkies" and "Ding
Dongs".
---
L-E headline: "Syrian rebels free 48 Iranians" -- Can't wait to hear pot-US
Obluster's spinmeisters 'spin' this tidbit. Doesn't matter which side anyone
supports, America's citizens lose big time on this deal.
---
Look like pot-US Obluster is going to take the economic crisis out of
Geithner's hands and 'toss into the Lew".
---
From a L-E story: The Washington National Cathedral has announced it would
begin hosting same-sex marriages. So-called the "Very Reverend Gary Hall paved
the way "for the ceremonies at the church that so often serves as a symbolic
house of prayer for national celebrations and tragedies." -- Well, somebody
certainly got something right... this is definitely not a "national celebration"
so it must be a national "tragedy". Is in my book.
---
L-E story: "An armed robbery charge against Daniel Peter Lopes was reduced
to criminal attempted armed robbery after police testified Wednesday in Columbus
Recorder's Court that nothing was taken from a 25-year-old man at the Carousel
Lounge. * Lopes, 34, of Lincoln Street also was charged with aggravated assault,
pointing a pistol at another and discharging a firearm in the city limits in
connection with the 1:30 a.m. robbery attempt at 3003 Victory Drive." -- This is
BS! Just because the attempt failed is no reason to lessen the charges,
especially since it involved the use and discharge of a gun! If a gunman swung
a fist at me and missed, and I wrestled him to the ground and held him til the
police arrived, does that lessen his attempt aimed at assaulting me?
---
L-E story: "Two men accused of firing shots inside a 1020 38th St. home and
taking nearly $6,000 in jewelry, guns and other items pleaded not guilty to
robbery charges during a hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court." -- They've
probably got a good argument.. that address is not listed in the Columbus
database, but the value of what was taken comes close to matching the total
value of some of the properties close by.
