Masters comments:
Best finish since Phil in 2003.

ExxonMobile Masters' ads highlighted that 60% of new jobs need math &
science degrees. Only 20% of applicants have them. ExxonMobile is using its
foundation to help, but isn't this really a condemnation of the education system
high school and college) not providing guidance and focus for our
students?
---
AT&T just shot down any argument for more AMTRAK/other high-speed rail
systems with the saturation of Masters' ads. The train cars were less than half
full.
---
After this weekend, CBS must be going to make a change in its logo. The
"CBS Eye" will become the "CBS Eye of the Tiger"
---
When did the pin placement on #10 on Sundays get moved back so far? I
remember the collapse of Greg Norman in 96. His approach shot was about 5 feet
short of the green but only about 20' from the pin. He pulled out a wedge (shot
called for a putt) and skulled it well past the pin and made 5. The rest we
remember well.
---
Things have a way of working out. Look at the way things worked out for
Tiger. His weekend was a fizzle for himself and CBS. Tiger just ran out
of..uh... CLASS!
---
Been thinking about that other penalty at the Masters last Friday. Not
Tiger's, but the one where the 14 year old got it for "slow play". What 14 year
old plays golf "slow"? When I was 14, we got to our ball and hit it. Most of the
time, others in the group kept walking on to their next shot.
---
The only thing missing yesterday was that the winning score was more than 2
shots better than Tiger's. If it was that close, CBS would have bemoaned the
fact that some stupid old penalty (and preferential treatment) kept the
announcers from being able to fawn all over Tiger and curse the USGA/R&A
during the playoff.
---
Hmmm, other than great golf by the Aussies, the handling of the Masters
will make this past Masters be remembered as "Masters' Weak".
---
---
Obviously, the Masters and CBS bailed out Tiger using Judas 00-bama's
guidelines that he is "too big to fail".
Moving on:
Online headline: "Chicago Weekend Shootings: Four Dead Among The 26 Shot
Around The City In Weekend Gun Violence" -- Guess every town has its own style
of "Masters Weekend".
---
Online story: "LONDON -- A fire has claimed the lives of reptiles, insects
and a male otter at the Five Sisters Zoo in Scotland. * Visitor services worker
Lesley Coupar said the fire was "the worst nightmare" because the zoo is owned
and staffed by animal lovers." -- Oh, it wouldn't have been a "nighgtmare" had
the owners been different?
---
Online headline: "US, Japan Offer North Korea Nuclear Talks" -- Talks?
Isn't it time to "walk"... as in all over them?
---
From a fellow BCer:
The same applies today and to everyone.
---
Congrats to Sgts Biggs and Santiago for winning the "Best Ranger"
competition. Just glad Judas 00-bama wasn't there to present the trophies...
he'd have taken away their military assault weapons,
---
L-E's "Quotable": “Never
underestimate the power of human stupidity.” Robert A. Heinlein American author
(1907-1988) -- Hmmm... seems like Heinlein foresaw our MCSD
board.
---
One parting Masters'
shot:
-- Hmmm Steve Williams.... wasn't he Tiger's caddy?
How appropriate that Steve Williams is working for the winner at the
Masters.
---
From the "piling on" department - L-E headline: "AUBURN MEN’S BASKETBALL * Tigers oversigned for
next season * Exceeding NCAA limit of 13 scholarship players " --
This...after a disastrous football season and scandal and a worse basketball
one.... now we are waitingh for the other baseball and track shoes to
fall.
---
L-E story: "FORT WORTH, Texas — A man died of a “self-inflicted
injury” following a verbal altercation in the infield during a NASCAR race at
Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night, police said. " What, and the race wasn't
stopped and the fans weren't 'locked-down' and the TV cameras weren't shut
off?... Man, will the mainstream media have a field day with NASCAR and NRA this
week!

Online headline/story: "Susan Collins: Newtown Victims Made Me Late For
Obama Dinner * “I was 45 minutes late for dinner with the president of the
United States," she said. "Everybody was seated when I got there, because I
spent time talking to the parents and the family members of those who were
killed at Newtown. I told them I had a dinner with the president but that I was
deliberately being late." * The Newtown families were VERY late for their
meeting with me. I felt a moral obligation to talk with them. I kept the
president of the United States waiting. I mean, how rude is that of me? But I
explained to him later that the reason I was 45 minutes late for his dinner was
the Newtown families were late -- very late -- getting to my office, and I just
could not leave without talking to them. And he was very gracious about it. *
Still, Collins told Politico that the meeting was a moving experience for her
and more important than the dinner. * Collins has a mixed record on gun control
and only a C+ rating from the NRA. On Saturday, she told NBC that she would vote in support of the current
Senate bill to expand background checks, but has recently spoken out against any
new bans on assault weapons." -- Ah! The root of the problem is that even
though she is basically a RINO, Collins gives the mainstream media an
opportunity to twist an ordinary incident and paint the Republicans as
insensitive and pro-gun-death-for-children.
