Online headline: "Four Gay NFL Players Could Come Out 'Sooner Than You
Think' -- Hmmm, well there go the bonding rituals of hand-holding in the huddle
and congratulatory butt slaps. Probably about time...
---
Online headline: "Obama Budget Proposal Cuts Are 'Unconscionable,' Says
AFL-CIO" -- Hmmm, the unions get to read it before the Senate or Pelosi read it.
Who are the DUMBERats gonna ask about what's in it?
---
Online headline: "Beyonce, Jay-Z Blasted For Cuba Vacation On Fifth
Anniversary " -- Oooops, my bad. Thought maybe Dennis Rodman was complaining
because he only got to go to North Korea.
---
Online story: "the number of Americans in the labor force — those who have
a job or are looking for one — fell by nearly half a million people from
February to March, the government said Friday. And the percentage of working-age
adults in the labor force — what's called the participation rate — fell to 63.3
percent last month. It's the lowest such figure since May 1979." -- There's
celebration in Americus, GA! Cuzzin Jimmy has rejoiced that he's officially no
longer the worst President ever!
---
Online headline/story: "Legendary Poet Pablo Neruda To Be Exhumed * ISLA
NEGRA, Chile — The body of Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda is being exhumed this
weekend in an effort to clear up four decades of suspicion about how he died in
the days after Chile's military coup." -- Ooops, my bad again. Thought maybe
Congress wanted his to testify that it was him who voted of 00-bama in
2012.
---
Online story: "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Friday that
he will consider enacting the so-called "nuclear option," or changing Senate
rules by a simple majority vote, if judicial nominations do not start moving
through the Senate" -- Considering decisions being handed down already, we
certainly do not need anymore judges that 00-bama and Reid agree with.
---
Online headline: "Ex-Dominican Drug Chief Extradited To U.S." -- Ooops, my
bad again... thought 00-bama had pulled in a new judge recruit to handle pending
recreational marijuana cases in Colorado and Washington.
---
Poor Judas 00-bama.... the NCAA has presented him with a political
nightmare. Does he pull for the last team standing from his 2013 Bracket picks,
or for the Union's favorite team, Michigan.
---
Online headline: "See Who Leads Sporting News' Top 25 MLB Players" -- How
depressing... I recognized only 8 of the names. I can still name the lineup of
my childhood favorite Red Sox, but most of these new "stars" will be on a
different team next year.
---
At the beach looking out from the upstairs bar at Harry T's as boats come
and go. Bet the boaters are glad our mayor isn't theirs. I could see her greedy
eyes trying to figure out how to charge hourly anchoring fees and what kind of
toll she could charge fpr entering or leaving the bay.
---
Those fast food strikers in NYC..... I really would like to see one of
their W2's. I have a hard time believing any one in NYC makes $7.25,especially
after 6 months of employment.
---
The White House is pushing mortgage companies to restart making high risk
loans again.... that's right, Judas 00-bama is trying to refill a burst balloon
with another shot of his hot air.
---
New classification for government jobs. 'healthcare navigators' @ $20.00 -
$48.00 an hour. This oughtta increase hospital Admittances for spontaneous heart
attacks. Shoot, doctors may retire and take on "healthcare navigator" jobs to
increase their income.
---
Now, even airlines are trying to blame 'the sequester' for revenue losses.
They are saying they aren't getting last minute sales (which go at outrageous
rates) from government employees. To me, airlines hurt themselves by charging
less for early bookings than by giving incentives like seat selection, no
luggage fees, free movie headphones and such for advanced customers. As flight
day nears, and more ticket sales are needed, then offer appropriate
discounts.

From a fellow BCer:
---
Online story: "MSNBC Host: Is Dr. Ben Carson 'Just a Black Sarah Palin?' *
there’s no adequate words to describe the lefty tools at MSNBC like Thomas
Roberts who want to smear every conservative woman or black
like they did to Sarah Palin." -- Like I've said before, even Judas 00-bama
couldn't have gotten elected or re-elected as a Republican.
---
With the 'royals' back in the headline with 'pay raises', 'pregnancy', and
other incidents in the England news focus, why not make a 21st Century move and
have the next "queen" elected at the ballot. What a reality show idea to have
the current 'royals' thrust into the real job market and maintain their
lifestyle.

From another fellow BCer:

Annika Sorenstam is indeed a living legend in the world of women's golf,
but I have no idea (well, actually iI do, $$$$$$) why the current Haskins
Commission would want to muddy up the focus of its beginnings. The Fred Haskins
Award was established to highlight the role of teaching professionals, the club
pros, in developing the game of golf. While Annika Sorenstam is no doubt a
leading woman player, who are the students she's developed?
---
Online headline: "Obama: “I Am Constrained by the System Our Founders Put
in Place” -- You better well believe it, too! This is attributable to the
insight our Founding Fathers had when they put together our Constitution in the
1780's... their vision saw the rise of Judas 00-bama.
---
Online headline: "Obama
in California: ‘I could get a whole lot more done if Nancy Pelosi is speaker of
the House’ -- Yeah... like in 2009 & 2010? We got an unread HELL-thScare
bill, and a lifetime of future ills. In 2010, America spoke loud and clear about
how it feels about Queen Pelosi; we must pray that Californians come to their
senses in her next election process.
---
L-E headline: "$24.4 million *
Whitewater course funded
by blend of public, private funds, including $5M each from city, W.C. Bradley
Co. * River
restoration committee chairman says private money came from more than 50 donors,
reasons for giving varied" -- "River restoration committee chairman"? Well, at
one time it was a 'river restoration' project, but that's changed and so should
the committee name. "Committee to Pave the Chattahoochee" is a lot more
fitting.
---
Low-info lib's L-E
"soundoff": "GOP Governors Bentley and Deal
will now be closing rural public schools, busing our kids long distances, firing
teachers and giving our tax dollars to expensive charter schools. More
trickle-down economics." -- "Trickle-down economics"? Actually, it's caused by
the DUMBERats' "tumble-down necessity".
---
Another low-info lib's L-E "soundoff": "Marriage is a federal issue. You can’t be married in
one state, move to another state and be considered unmarried. " -- The only
federal issue is that it's the federal constitution that guarantees the rights
of the state as well as individuals. You cannot get married legally in any state
unless that state grants such authority to a pastor or
judge.

Karl Douglass
opines:"In real estate development, highest
and best use is defined as the use of land that is financially feasible, legally
possible, physically possible and yields maximum profit. When that definition is
applied, the land that fronts Victory Drive and is bordered by Veterans Parkway,
5th Street and 6th Avenue does not pass the maximum profitability test. Traffic
counts, proximity to South Commons and costs of site development suggest that
the highest and best use of those 8 acres is retail development. The only way to
make those blocks available for retail development is to relocate the
apartments." -- Love watching liberals eat their own, but Douglasses assessment
cannot be rigid. Take the traffic count on 17th St, Cherokee Ave and 18th Ave.
The traffic count is terrific for retail if you're looking only at the traffic
count versus what explains the traffic count. This area's traffic count is a
composite of commuters, school transportation, youth sports and health
enthusiasts going through or to Lakebottom Park. Does Douglass think Lakebottom
park is being misused as to its "maximum profitability
test"?

L-E Commentary:
"Leonard Pitts We’ve made progress, only to see it undone" --
Ooops, my bad. Thought Pitts was finally understanding what the old leadership
has been doing to Martin Luther King, Jr's vision and
legacy.

Council is accepting property from
Norfolk-Southern as an old cemetery memorial site.. isn't this the same site
that Council spent thousands of tax dollars for a group to conduct underground
x-rays to locate any activity of the property ever being used for burials, and
there was absolutely nothing there to indicate any such
use?
---
What is Council thinking when considering the
legalization of "growlers"? "Growlers" are basically 'beer to go' sold in gallon
(and maybe 1/2 gallon) milk jugs. Just the beer bottles leftover from weekend
"bar crawls" is bad enough , but the median and streets being littered by milk
jugs strewn about will be a real eyesore. And what about what choices growler
buyers will have to make before leaving if they don't finish drinking their
purchase before they are ready to leave? Do they finish it off, anyway, just
leave it for some else to drink it, or put the 'open container' in gtheir cars
and drive home?
---
Whoa! The following is up for vote by Council:
"TROPHIES & OTHER MISCELLANEOUS AWARDS
(ANNUAL CONTRACT) — It is requested that council approve the purchase of
Trophies and other Miscellaneous Awards from Columbus Fire & Safety doing business as
Columbus Trophy & Screen Print for the estimated annual contract value of
$110,994. " -- $110, 994 for something that a public pat-on-the-back would have
better meaning to the recipients? How about charging Government Center parking
garage users a $1.00 per hour to pay for
this!
