HuffPost headline/story: "Secret Service probe threat against Obama * The U.S. Secret Service called upon state police for help tracking down a suspected threat against President Obama. * A car sought in connection with a suspected threat against President Barack Obama has been located in Connecticut, authorities said on Saturday. * The car was found near an ice rink and a group of apartment complexes, police said." -- Huh? A car made a threat against Obamageddon? Glad my cars have alibis.
---
Comment on above: Obamageddon must have needed to divert mainstream media away from something scandalous to have had this story "leaked" . Surely this was not the first time some "threat" has had to be checked out/run down. Just the first time Obamageddon's spinmeisters have aired one in public.
---
Respect for our border begins in Washington...unfortunately, illegal aliens have no fear of being arrested or deported during a public protest on the streets of Washington for rights they aren't entitled.
---
There's a humanitarian story about a Chicago Funeral Home that is "picking up a year's worth of rent for the family of one of the Little League World Series team. One eye-opening fact emerged.. This one funeral home handles one-fifth... that's 20% of ALL the funerals in Chicago. One of then owners said, ""You have to be willing to give back to the community that supports this business," -- Praise the funeral home owners for stepping up to the plate, but this place must be even busier than the police department, and all South Chicago Emergency Rooms on the Monday after most weekends.
---
Online story: "Since Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS at age 21, no fundraising effort to benefit research for the disease has reached the grand scale of the recent ice bucket challenge. So it makes sense that the celebrated theoretical physicist, now 72, would take the challenge." -- You know, Columbus' Mayor Obamalinson and President Obamageddon should feel (but they won't) pretty sheepish for publicly refusing to participate in the "ice bucket challenge". Good grief, even Donald Trump's hair participated!
---
Online story: "Jesse Benton, campaign manager for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), is resigning his position, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported Friday. * As Paul's political director in 2012, Benton has been tied to a scandal that saw thousands of dollars exchanged for political endorsements prior to the Iowa caucuses." -- The root of this situation exists because politicians are allowed to donate to other politicians..... but they shouldn't be allowed to do such. This is not isolated.. have seen it happen right here in River City at all levels. In short, elected officials should not be allowed to contribute to other elected officials via cash/in-kind contributions, nor even public endorsements.
---
Why I "feel" as stated above: If a person contributes, say the maximum allowable contribution to two candidates. one in a highly contested race and the other running unchallenged, and the unchallenged candidate then donates the max to the highly contested candidate, then in effect, the sole contributor has doubled his maximum allowable donation to the candidate in the highly contested race.

From the "40 lashes with a wet noodle" department - HuffPost headline: "Europe poised to hit Russia with big penalty" -- Good grief...Europe would be more effective by issuing Russia an illegal parking ticket.
---
HuffPost headline: "Islamic militants behead another victim * A new video released by hardline Islamic State militants via social media Saturday shows the barbaric killing of a Lebanese soldier." -- Hmmm... now tell me again how barbaric the CIA is for "waterboarding" terrorists to gather pertinent information?
---
HuffPost story: "A federal judge Friday threw out new Texas abortion restrictions that would have effectively closed more than a dozen clinics statewide in a victory for opponents of tough new anti-abortion laws sweeping across the U.S." -- Hmmm.. you know.. one day someone will invent a time travel scheme that actually function like the concepts we see in movies/TV shows. I hope one of the first practical applications will be for a messenger, armed with news stories of judicial decisions that stop life protecting abortion restrictions, are sent back to the mothers of these judges at the time they are pregnant with them.
---
Ugly uniform dilemma .. FLA State's could have easily "won" most weeks (for looking like a Nordic Ski Sweater), but the opponent was Okie State, and those uniforms looked like you could buy them on sale at Halloween City.
---
From the "what was the owner thinking" department - Online story: " New York teen taking a test drive of a family friend's Lamborghini has died after crashing the high-powered sports car into a guardrail. * Police say 18-year-old S***** S***** was taking the car for a spin on a county road in Mount Sinai on Long Island early Friday when he lost control. The car's owner, M***** P*****, was a passenger in the car and was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. * CSI Det. Sgt. Michael Fitzharris said, "I think it was probably just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the kid, and this man chose to give him this opportunity." -- "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity"? Good grief.. it was last-of-his-lifetime moment!
---
Online headline/story: "Reid's name removed from center at Utah university from which he graduated" -- Hmmm.. sounds like a simple case of "when you're hot, you're hot... when you're not, you're SNOT".
---
Online story: "California Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown is appealing a recent state judge’s ruling that ends tenure and other union protections for public school teachers. * The appeal argues that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Rulf Treu’s final ruling lacks detail and fails to provide the legal basis for his decision.
* Treu issued the final ruling Thursday, after tentatively ruling in June that tenure protections for California teachers violate the state constitution, depriving some of the state's 6.2 million students of a quality education, specifically minorities and those from low-income families. * he lawsuit, Vergara v. California, was brought by Beatriz Vergara and eight other students who said they were saddled with teachers who let classrooms get out of control, came to school unprepared and in some cases told them they'd never make anything of themselves * Teachers and their lawyers argue the laws protect teachers from getting fired on a whim. They also argue the system preserved academic freedom and helps attract talented teachers to a profession that doesn't pay well." -- "the laws protect teachers from getting fired on a whim"? "the system preserved academic freedom and helps attract talented teachers to a profession that doesn't pay well"? Good grief... a system of appeals would protect "whim" firings without making unfit teachers be accountable, and, besides, no job should offer permanent security when there are no enforceable "product quality" goals an employee must achieve.
---
Online story: "A Louisiana Republican challenging Democrat Mary Landrieu for her Senate seat is expanding his efforts to prove the three-term lawmaker doesn’t live in her home state, instead using her parents’ address to qualify for the November ballot." -- You know.. when my out-of-town siblings came to Columbus for a visit and stayed with our parents (or my home ), none of them was able to declare our addresses for voter registration/state services residency. Additionally, we cannot use a relative's address in another state to register our children into state universities as "in-state" students.
---
Random thought: When you think about it, illegal aliens are the support system for low wages. With illegal aliens waiting in the shadows, most entry level jobs would be higher paying if there wasn't such a long list of available job applicants
---
There's at least one school in Tucson, AZ that is allowing Muslim students pray during school..even with prayer rugs. * Controversy arose in the Sunnyside Unified School District when word began circulating about Muslim students praying in the Desert View High School library. * Board member Buck Crouch responded immediately after learning that there were concerns. * According to Crouch, four students came to administrators asking that they be allowed to observe Salat, which is the Muslim time of prayer. In response, District officials created an accommodation for the expression of faith. “It is a private classroom off the LRC, no other students should be able to hear them or be disturbed by them. * An email was sent out to staff, in which they were notified of the District’s desire to let the children know that the administration “respected their beliefs” and found the students a spot for them to pray," -- "no other students should be able to hear them or be disturbed by them"? "respected their beliefs"? Hmmm, as opposed to a Christian student getting on his/her knees in a classroom and praying silently? Talk about hypocrisy in action!
---
Hmmm, whatta you doing for the Labor Day weekend? Obamageddon is has two fundraisers (one in New York and another in Rhode Island and a wedding to attend at taxpayer expense. On Labor Day itself, President Obama will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to speak at Laborfest 2014, an event sponsored by the AFL-CIO. Wonder if mainstream media will add these day to the amount of vacation time he uses?
---
Hmmm ever wondered why Rhode Island is named that... it's certainly not an island.
---
Also, did you know the full name of Rhode Island is officially the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations? Well, we do now...
---
L-E story: "At a shooting range on a gravel lot off Cusseta Road, veteran officers of the Columbus Police Department shot bullets at green and white silhouetted targets with a human form outlined. * They aimed for center mass as they practiced how to respond to threatening suspects. * When making arrests, the intent is to use the least amount of force necessary, (Lt. Tim) Wynn (the department’s training director) said, but that’s determined by the suspect. He said federal courts have ruled that officers should operate under the “plus one rule,” which means they can use a level of force one step above that being used by the subject.
* “If they come out punching, we go one step above,” he said. “We’re not in a situation where we’re trained boxers. That’s not our job to go out there and box with a suspect." -- Amen! I have no sympathy for a criminal or suspected criminal who challenges a police officer's order to "stand down", and I pray that every police officer gets home safely every day. Criminals are the only persons in a confrontation with police that have the ability to control their own destinies.
---
L-E headline: "Underemployment becoming a growing problem * More workers forced to take lower-paying, part-time jobs even as economy improves" -- Unemployment is a growing problem? It's been Obamageddon's legacy since his first day in office, but the part of this L-E headline that says "more workers are forced to take lower paying jobs" is a hoot.. it's something devised by government and mainstream media to enhance their claims that minimum wages should be higher and guaranteed. -- Hmmm...People don't "take" jobs ... jobs are offered to someone who appears qualified/capable to do such a needed job...it can be refused by the job seeker. Underemployment is all in the mind of the seeker who thinks he/she is better qualified than an employer thinks he/she is. Time will...and does... tell. It's up to the employee to make him/herself "valuable" to an employer. Then the employer will try to make sure the employee has incentives to stay.---
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "I see that you smoke. Well, I chew. If you won’t blow your smoke on me, I won’t spit on you." -- Hmmm, how about both of you keeping that to your own houses... one other thing.. I'm not sure what is more disgusting... smokers who toss their butts on the ground, or chewers who spit in public..
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Fox News and Republicans are comparing ISIS to Nazi Germany. Boy, you really have to be stupid to make that comparison." -- Now you see the damage caused by public education and socialist run mainstream media.. A knowledgeable person understands the ISIS/Nazi analogy.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Holier-than-thou Sound Offs remind me of something a famous evangelist said: “If entering a church will make you a Christian then entering a barn will make you a cow." -- This just illuminates the lack of knowledge this "soundoffer" has built his wall with. Christians don't enter the church to be Christians, they do so to honor God, to praise God, and to learn to be better messengers of His word while on Earth.
---
L-E editorial comment: "Last Saturday's Atlanta Journal-Constitution included a prominent article that was mostly about Columbus. Specifically, it was about the ways this city will benefit, and is already benefiting, from the regional Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax for transportation (the TSPLOST) that area voters approved two years ago. * "The city of Columbus," the AJC report begins, "will soon expand its popular RiverWalk along the Chattahoochee, tunnel under a rail line that has cut off part of the town for years, and add more hours for bus service." -- Good grief! The City of Columbus would have been better off if the citizens voted for its own T-SPLOST. As it is, we're only getting 85% of that revenue for our use. Of course, if Council wastes it by approving the most expensive options for projects, it will not get as much done.
---
L-E story: "A middle Georgia sheriff says two inmates visiting a Macon funeral home tried to return to jail with drugs and other contraband that had been hidden inside their grandmother’s casket. * WMAZ-TV reports Bibb County deputies found marijuana, tobacco, a lighter and a cellphone on inmates Henry Ison Rouse and Nekoase Antwan Vinson after they attended a visitation for their dead grandmother Thursday. They wore handcuffs and were escorted by guards. * Bibb County SheriffDavid Davis said deputies suspect the inmates retrieved the contraband from the casket after relatives stashed it for them." -- Hmmm appropriate response would be to bury the inmates on prison grounds after they die of natural causes, and arrest the rest of their family members and give them a drug-free family re-union.
---
I'm not going to post the picture because children are identifiable, but in the L-E today, there's a picture of students and adult leaders speaking the Pledge of Allegiance preceding the recent dedication of a new school here in Columbus. While I'm proud that the "Pledge" is still recognized as viable and important (necessary in my book) in our schools, three... I repeat THREE of the 5 students were saluting with their LEFT hands over their hearts.
---
L-E's " Thought for Today": “Good people are good because they’ve come to wisdom through failure. We get very little wisdom from success, you know.” — William Saroyan, U.S. author (born this date in 1908, died 1981)." -- Good grief... if their was concrete proof of this, then government programs would all be successful, and Lois Lerner would never had a job at the IRS, nor would Holder be out Attorney General,
---
Do you understand why Auto dealers run ads to sell new cars yet don't say what they cost? Most of these ads show some percentage rate for financing or some lease price, but finding out what the price of the vehicle is either not mentioned or put in legal-size unreadable print. Ho-hum... believe I will just move on..

Obamageddon stated "We don't have a strategy on fighting Syria/ISIS". Wanna bet he has the November Democratic campaign strategy set in stone?

---
Thanks to a fellow BCer for a memory jog - The recent, probably still going-on-under-the-table money handling scandal of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed brought up memories of two Columbus scandals involving money handling.. or should we say, money disappearing in thin air events. Most recent was the Tony Adams/et al Parks&Rec-Nike basketball program, but the bigger was the landfill "tipping" one. With as much money and files that were missing (and still not accounted for), we should look and see if Lois Lerner may have been involved under her probably pre-witness protection plan name. As I recall.. the landfill man person involved wasn't even fired.. simply moved to a new department. There were probably a few "other names" that got covered up in the landfill as well.

---
L-E headline/story: "Judge rules Columbus Regional attorney-client material not protected in suit * “Sometimes, however, there are interests that outweigh the values supporting this important privilege, and exceptions to the attorney-client privilege have been made under those limited circumstances,” Land wrote.
* “The employer took the position that its conduct was lawful,” Land wrote in his order. “The district court found that by taking this position, the employer waived the attorney-client privilege.” -- Was pleased with this ruling.. the claims involve billing the taxpayers for Medicare/Medicaid payments, and the taxpayers have a right to know what's been going on.
---
Online story: "At a luncheon in his honor in Sacramento, California, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto lauded Monday the strong bonds between his country and the Golden State. * He praised California and its governor, Jerry Brown, for their support for immigrants, regardless of their status." -- There was a Pena Nieto/Moonbeam Brown Mutual Admiration luncheon, and the release of Sgt Tahmooressi was "not on the table"? Is Brown just pro-illegal alien or are we seeing his anti-military "loath" come into focus?
---
Online story: "The public will soon get to see an ancient human skeleton that was recently rediscovered in a Philadelphia museum storage room. * Visitors can look at the 6,500-year-old remains beginning Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania's Penn Museum. * Archaeologists first excavated the specimen from southern Iraq around 1930. But it sat for decades in the museum's basement without any type of documentation. " -- Aside from the "government inefficiency" jokes about waiting in lines and VA hospitals, one thing is obviously apparent. The head was still attached so it's probably an Islamist...
---
Online story: "The U.S.S. Constitution is setting its sails for the last time before the warship heads to dry dock for a three-year repair project." -- Hmmm.. sorta like the Hillsbury DOUGHgirl's story. On a more serious note.. had the opportunity to tour Old Ironsides in 1992 (the real one, not Hillewinsky). I was amazed at two things.. how short the sailors had to be, and the "smallness" of the ship. Most of us would decline to go to sea on it if it was called a cruise ship.
---
Online story: "Chelsea Clinton has decided to leave her role at NBC News as a special correspondent, where she reportedly makes $600,000 a year. * Clinton, 34, wrote in a Facebook post that she was parting ways with NBC "to continue focusing on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc and I look forward to welcoming our first child." -- Question: Did anyone of you actually see Chelsea Mezvinsky "on the air" ? One more question: Chelsea Mezvinsky... Michelle Nunn.. do any Democrat politicians' daughters use their married names anymore?
---
An opinion that's gaining credibility is somewhat sickly numerous as well. Someone had suggested that Obamageddon has his own grasp on the Islamic terrorist's beheading. Obamageddon grasped his clubs and announced he would "be heading" out to the golf course.
---
What BS! I think the FCC should make an insurance company pull its ads for claiming people can get a discount by adding a 16 year old driver to your policy.
---
Did get an answer for the location of the Exchange Club of Columbus' Pancake Breakfast fund raiser. It is being held up at Callaway Gardens this AM. If you can't make it, send them a donation.. they do good work.
---
Pass this along to your Congress people:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFxwJ8mIDtA
---
Trouble...Right here in River City...with a capital T. This video was made in 2010... sorta shows how out of touch Mayor Obamalinson was/is with gangs in Columbus..
---
Online story: "The FBI’s most recent national threat assessment for domestic terrorism makes no reference to Islamist terror threats, despite last year’s Boston Marathon bombing and the 2009 Fort Hood shooting—both carried out by radical Muslim Americans." -- Hmmm.. probably explains Obamageddon's new clothes.. that tan suit.. everyone else already knew he doesn't come across very "presidential".. guess wearing his new tan suit confirms he realizes it, too...
---
The UK has raised its terrorist threat level to "Severe", its second highest level. Of course it's to soon to tell whether it's for the crisis caused by ISIS or Obamageddon.
---
L-E story: "Eunice S. Thomas, a former Columbus resident who left the classroom as a teacher to help manage federal departments in Washington in the 1980s, died Sunday in Atlanta after a lengthy illness.
* Thomas was a sixth-grade teacher at then-Winterfield Elementary School when she was appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1982 to the National Advisory Council on Women's Educational Programs. She also worked for four cabinet-level secretaries in the U.S. Department of Transportation, Department of Labor and Department of Health and Human Services." -- Wow...a politician actually helping an African-American achieve her goals..instead of making/breaking a political promise. Obviously a Republican... Ironic in more than one way.
---
Congressman Hank Johnson, D-GA4, is now saying to stop militarizing our police. Hmmm... what's he afraid of... that his Atlanta district might tip over if too much police equipment is brought in?
---
The ALS "ice bucket challenge" has brought in over $94 MILLION in a month for research and a cure. Wonder if Mayor Obamalinson and President Obamageddon would be regretting their decisions to pass on the opportunity to participate if they were still up for re-election? Good grief.. even Donald Trump drowned his iconic hair for ALS!
---
Online story: "Julia Lease has flown an American flag outside her Ohio residence for the past 36 years, but now she's being told to take down Old Glory. Julia Lease said, "They want this flag taken down because they says it detracts from the looks of the apartment complex. Well, I can't see how an American flag can detract from anything." * Eighty-six-year-old Lease says she found a notice on her door but kept the flag up regardless. She was told her complex would send a second notice and take it down - something Lease called "stealing."" -- Can you imagine the same landlord asking a Muslim to take down an Islam flag?
---
Online headline: "Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's Shockingly Small Guest List" -- Guess it's shorter now that the Obamageddons are no longer the Hollywood darlings.
---
Online story: "During Thursday night's college football game between Vanderbilt and Temple, officials penalized Vanderbilt for wearing impermissible jerseys. They then had to overturn the penalty after Vanderbilt presented them with a series of emails showing their uniforms had been pre-approved by the Southeastern Conference. * The nontraditional jerseys had the team slogan, "Anchor Down," printed on the back in place of players' names, which officials didn't think met NCAA standards" -- Aren't referees suppose to be pretty much "invisible" if they are doing their jobs correctly? On the other hand.. Vandy probably will ditch those uniforms after being drubbed 35-7 by Temple.. Guess the "Anchor Down Jerseys "weighed" them down.
---
Hmmm new tax form 1095-A... the one for the OObamaCRAP tax.... it has to be sent out by the Department of Heath and Human Services...the same folks that brought us the OObamaCRAP website..too bad the upcoming November elections can't be delayed until April 16, 2015.
---
Online story: "Salt is an absolutely essential ingredient in most processed food. So it’s no surprise that the food industry is starting to make a little hay of new research concluding that too little salt in the diet might be as harmful as too much." -- Good grief.. fast food just became Michelle Obama endorsed!
---
There have been several "airline seat reclining" incidences recently following the latest cabin redesigns. Now average sized people.. even women are experiencing the cruelty imposed on the 6' 6" passengers. I have refused to fly since my last flight experience about 5 years ago.
---
S_it has hit the fan! Brad Paisley and Ll Cool J have recorded a song together on Paisley's upcoming album. "Accidental Racist" is the title.. "google" it.. there's lyrics and audio there. It's a song that needed to be recorded and released at this time in history. Hopefully, this will end "political correctness".. and open up real conversation.
---
Online headline: "Ray Albers, Cop Who Threatened Ferguson Protesters, Resigns" -- Good.. actual real time video of his verbal outbreak are enough conviction. Not so of Officer Wilson.. let the investigation and trial be conducted fairly.. now, the worse problem will be getting enraged-by-the-mainstream-media-public-lynching to accept the outcome of such an investigation.
---
HuffPost headline: "White House Reportedly Considering Pushing Deportation Changes To Post-Election" -- Good grief... this should be included in every Republican Congressional candidates ads!
---
HuffPost headline: "Americans Are Starting To Buy Guns At Slightly Less Ridiculous Rates" -- Typical liberalists' view... what would be nice would be a headline that read, "Guns are being stolen at lesser rates".
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Go outside and enjoy the unpolluted air, the clear and clean water and the rich and flowering Earth. Then remember to vote Democratic because they are the only politicians fighting to save these natural treasures." -- Hmmm, and what happens when the eco-teams can no longer go safely into the cities to clean up the rivers that run through or by the inner city areas?
---
If the difference between Columbus High School's academic record, versus other local schools, is committed parents, why does the MCSD system discourage parental involvement in the other schools? Taking over the parental roles of transporting and feeding their own children pretty much carries over into whether a parental team gets involved. Another thing.. why are most math books devoid of the working formulae that would enable parents to actually help their children?
---
L-E headline: "New challenge for Ga. death penalty * Death row inmate challenges state provision to prove intellectual disability ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ -- Good grief.. if a violent criminal was of higher IQ, he/she would know the odds on getting caught and probably wouldn't commit such crimes.

HuffPost headline: "Obama still weighing strikes on ISIS in Syria" -- Good grief... is Obamageddon so inept that he tests the mainstream media for their opinions before he pulls an strategy option out of his hat?
---
Online story: "The manager of an Arizona gun range where a 9-year-old accidentally shot and killed an instructor who was showing her how to use an automatic Uzi defended his operation on Wednesday, telling MSNBC's Chris Hayes that hundreds of children have handled weapons at the range without incident" -- Good grief.. whatta (_*_)... defending letting a 9 year old "play" with an Uzi submachine gun. While I have no problem with a 9 year old being taught the mechanics and respect for firearms, there are suitable weapons and unsuitable weapons to train with.. a 9 year old.. actually any child, and 99% of adults, and an Uzi are totally non-suitable.
---
HuffPost "headlie": "Hillary Clinton breaks silence on Ferguson" -- Wrong! At best, the Hillsbury DOUGHgirl "broke wind".
---
Texas has always proclaimed "bigger is better"... bigger buildins, bigger cars, bigger egos.. but now has a real big something of interest and value.. "the 99-Pack of beer" . An Austin brewery made a promotional 7' long, 82 pound 99 pack of beer as a promotional item, but demand has put it in production. My guess is it won't be a big "drive-thru window" purchase.
---
HuffPost "headlie"/story: "Bush or Obama: Who's the big vacation prez? * much is made of these presidential vacation days — and how to count them. Knoller doesn’t include visits to Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland often used to host foreign leaders. On Aug. 8, the day before Obama left for Martha’s Vineyard, Knoller tweeted that Obama had spent 125 full or partial days on vacation, and at the same point in Bush’s president, he had spent 381 days at his Texas ranch plus 26 days at his parents’ home in Kennebunkport, Maine, for a total of 407." -- Hmmmm... Bush43 working out of his and his family's homes is not the same as vacationing at taxpayer expense in exclusive and luxury rentals. Now, how many "vacation" days has Obamageddon spent at his home in Chicago?
---
Online story: " Hundreds of items that belonged to civil rights icon Rosa Parks and have been sitting unseen for years in a New York warehouse were sold to a foundation run by the son of billionaire investment guru Warren Buffett, the younger Buffett said Thursday. * Howard G. Buffett told The Associated Press that his foundation plans to give the items, which include Parks' Presidential Medal of Freedom, to an institute or museum he hasn't yet selected. Buffett said the items belong to the American people. * A yearslong legal fight between Parks' heirs and her friends led to the memorabilia being removed from her Detroit home and offered up to the highest bidder." -- You know, the "heirs" of two of out nation's most recognized civil rights icons, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr., have spurned the ideals of their ancestors and fallen prey to personal greed.. none of which this generation has earned by their own efforts. What kind of legacy are they passing along?
---
HuffPost headline: "Lawsuit Claims Police Brutality At Ferguson Protests" -- Good grief.. there hasn't been time to even fully investigate this, and the 99% of lawyers who give the other 1% a bad reputation are already plying their trade.
---
HuffPost "headlie"/story: "James Foley Was Tortured By ISIS Militants Using CIA Techniques * The Post reported that, during that time, he and at least three others were "waterboarded several times." -- Mainstream media is concerned about "waterboarding"? James Foley is DEAD... BEHEADED by an ISIS terrorist! Good grief.. is the Post claiming decapitation is a CIA practice, too?
---
Online story: "U.S. President Barack Obama took a tough stand on Russia and the Islamic State, but all anyone remembers from his press conference is a tan suit." -- Heh heh heh.. mainstream media is finally admitting that Obamageddon is merely a suit...

Hmmm, looking at the probable loss of 11,000 jobs affiliated with Ft Benning.. what's the course of action to stop the T-SPLOST project to build a military industrial park outside the entrance at I-185?
---
Online story: "Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed defended on Wednesday payments his administration gave to select employees under a little known “hardship” program. * Speaking to the council’s finance committee, Reed insisted the payouts — some as high as five-figures to at least three executives, including Police Chief George Turner — did not violate city code. * But he acknowledged that the decisions to allow some workers to trade unused vacation, sick or compensatory time for cash lacked documentation and could raise fairness concerns from other employees." -- "little known "hardship" program"? "lacked documentation"? Doh! How about "lacked any ethics"! Then again.. Reed is a Democrat, and Democrats define ethics by whatever is convenient at the time.
---
Online quote source: " “If people refuse to look at you in a new light and they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you've made, if they don't realize that you are not your mistakes, then they have to go.” - Steve Maraboli -- Hmmm, you definitely won't see this hanging on the wall in SG Pric Holder's office or any civil rights plaintiff attorney's office.
---
GA DOT is spending beau coup bucks on sound/sight baffles along I-85 to Atlanta. They are 10' tall precast concrete, and are being put up in areas that never had them before. It's not like I-85 is going into preexisting areas so it must be just another way for the GA DOT to waste money or for political payback. On top of that, they are just ugly..
---
L-E headline: "‘SHOOTER’ WON’T FACE MURDER CHARGE * Officials say Streeter shot at 3 teens in self-defense in dispute over stolen gun" -- Good grief! The kid who shot the other kid was using a stolen gun he then stole out of the lap of another teen who was in a stolen vehicle.. there should a death sentence automatic in a case like this for a violent crime committed with a stolen, and in case, stolen twice, weapon! And the other's still living should be charged with premeditated murder.
---
You know.. maybe police officers should be made to procure their own weapons by theft.. then they will be forgiven of any shooting death if they are using a stolen weapon..
---
L-E story: "The Daily Beast has rated Columbus High School as the No. 1 public high school in Georgia for the second straight year, and it significantly improved its ranking in the country. * The national news website’s listing, called America’s Top High Schools 2014, ranks Columbus 38th nationally, leaping from No. 105 in 2013. * No other schools in the Chattahoochee Valley are on the list this year or last year." -- "no other (local area) schools"? The question is "why not"? Now that's a forum the MCSD board should be calling for!
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Watched the Debate: Mr. Perdue was arrogant, condescending, unyielding, and a typical stuffed shirt with no new ideas. Another rich guy who wants a claim to fame. Just what we need in Washington these days." -- Wonder who sent his in Sam or Michelle?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Instead of taking the ice bucket challenge, it seems to me it would be much more feasible to take money from the military budget to fund ALS research." -- Good grief.. why isn't it a thought, well, a 'feeling', process for liberals to reach into their own pockets and help?
---
On a local note.. the Exchange Club of Columbus is hosting a pancake breakfast this weekend.. I'd tell you where, but the crack L-E folks either left the address out, or simply didn't ask where? Help please..

L-E story: "An Oklahoma death row inmate who died following a problematic execution succumbed to the lethal drugs he was administered, not a heart attack, after the state’s prisons chief halted efforts to kill him, an autopsy report released Thursday says. * Department of Corrections Director Robert Patton had said inmate Clayton Lockett died from a heart attack several minutes after he ordered the execution stopped. But the autopsy report performed for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety says all three execution drugs were found throughout Lockett’s system. A medical examiner declared that the cause of death was “judicial execution by lethal injection.” -- Good grief.. the execution was carried out as planned.. not botch here.. Personally all such deaths should involve as much discomfort as befits the crime the sentence was given.

Other than some Halloween Party, can you imagine having a dinner party/banquet at a funeral home? One such location is available here in Columbus.. good grief...
---
My brother brought me a book he found at a Goodwill Store. It was a still-in-plastic-jacket copy of "The Carters of Plains" written by local historian (of sorts) Richard Hyatt. It came from the library at Carver. The old card ticket was still in the back envelope.. It had never been checked out.. at least not officially.. doesn't look like it was ever read either. How'd it get to Goodwill?
---
L-E story: " Democrat Jason Carter picked up the endorsement of one of the largest teachers’ groups in Georgia on Wednesday, a move that helped him underscore a central message of his campaign against Republican Gov. Nathan Deal. * The Georgia Association of Educators has historically backed Democrats, so it was not a surprise when the group announced its support for Carter, a state senator from Atlanta. In its announcement, the group’s president, Sid Chapman, cited a “demoralizing and dismantling” of public education in recent years." -- When is a perpetual given really a news story? Now, what's rreally "demoarlizing" and needs "dismantling" is the current education protocol.

Online headline: "Sister of Boston bombing suspect arrested" -- Hmmm, guess the family that PREYS together, SLAYS together.... either that or they bought "Preyer", rather than prayer rugs with them.
---
Seems Souther Cal football star and captain Josh Shaw has been outed from a lie he told as an "I-witness" (as opposed to an actual eye-witness) to his ankle injuries he claimed he received when he was rescuing his nephew. Rumor has it his teammates have given him a new nickname..."Ferguson".
----
Online story: "Legal sales of recreational marijuana in Washington state kicked off in July. But edible pot products like cookies and oils didn’t hit the shelves until earlier this month because of more strict regulations. * Now, “drinkables,” or cannabis-infused beverages, are reaching stores." -- Brings a whole new side to DUI, and "Open container" laws.
---
From above story: "Mirth Provisions also has plans to sell a line of cold-brewed coffees infused with cannabis * if the infused coffee does hit the market, though, the company says it will allow customers to “swim off into a day of work or play filled to the brim with pure joy." -- Hmmm, Guess "Casual Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday" will make Friday the "Hey, Dude, Where's my Car Day"
---
Did you know about the EB-5 visa program? Seems there's a U.S. government residency plan that allows foreigners who "invest" $500,000.00 in American businesses to jump to the front of the immigration line. Well, 300 Chinese "investors" or so were doing just this but "invested" in a scam business with a man from Chicago. -- Ooops my bad.. though this was about Chinese purchasers of Obamageddon's National Debt bonds.
---
Seriously.. did you know about the EB-5 visa program? Bet those who took that deal are kicking themselves for not knowing they could just walk across the border from Mexico for free.
---
HuffPost headline: "ISIS Says It's Burning Marijuana Fields In Syria" -- Hmmm.. rumors have it that Colorado has offered to trade 5 domestic terrorists...Obamageddon, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, and Holder to them if they stop.
---
HuffPost story: "A new study released Wednesday finds that increasing San Francisco's minimum wage would give raises to 23 percent of the city's workforce, helping to reduce the city's growing income inequality.
* San Francisco voters this fall are set to consider a ballot measure that would raise the local minimum wage from $10.74 to $15 an hour by 2018." -- Hmmm...a "ballot measure" on what private businesses must pay workers... about 200 years ago, this concept was so noted : "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship." Though this quote has been attributed to both Alexander Tytler (1747-1813) and Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859), never has it become so well illustrated as it has since LBJ created the "Great Society", and Obamageddon dotted the "i"s and crossed the "t"s.
---
HuffPost "story": "A new poll from Marquette Law School finds Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) narrowly trailing his Democratic opponent, Mary Burke. * Forty-nine percent of individuals considered likely to vote in November said they would support Burke, compared to 47 percent who plan to vote for Walker * The Marquette Law School Poll surveyed 815 registered voters, 609 of whom were considered likely to vote, by phone from Aug. 21 to 24." -- Hmmm... "story" because the chart printed with the HuffPost take shows Walker with a 1.6% lead on August 27th!
---
HuffPost "headlie": "Democrats Warn GOP About Risking Another Government Shutdown" -- Despite House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) specifically... unequivocally stating House Republicans would not shut down the government, the HuffPost promotes the Democrat "wish" for an "October Surprise" campaign issue.
---
Quote passed along by a fellow BCer: "“A liberal paradise would be a place where everybody has guaranteed employment, free comprehensive healthcare, free education, free food, free housing, free clothing, free utilities, and only law enforcement has guns." "And believe it or not, such a place does, indeed, exist. It's called prison." - Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County Sheriff's" -- Hmmm, maybe if we scrapped "prison" from the marquis, and substituted "Utopia", the libs would get behind the program...
---
Online headline: "Saudi Foreign Minister: Time for Islamic World to Recognize Israel" -- "recognize Israel"? I think the Islamic world has recognized Israel for quite a while.. what the Islamic world needs to do is "accept" Israel.
---
Online story: "Last other night’s Emmys was pretty tame, but one liberal comedian tried to make it more entertaining. On the red carpet beforehand, Sarah Silverman pulled out a pen and showed it to E!’s Giuliana Rancic bragging, “This is my pot, liquid pot.” -- Hmmm... since the Awards were held in California.. as opposed.. say..Colorado or Washington...why didn't some of the scores of police/security forces make an arrest? Since it was shown on NBC, why hasn't the FCC shut NBC down?
---
It's known that US Corporations have $2.1 TRILLION socked away in foreign accounts. You know, corporate tax reform could bring that money back quickly, but where's the liberals' concern about the $7 TRILLION Obamageddon has swapped out in debt since he took office?
---
You know, as many rounds of golf Obamageddon plays, you'd think he'd walk as a good example for good health, and..and so he could create a new White House staff position as Caddymaster.
---
Online story: "Appearing with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and California Governor Jerry Brown in Los Angeles, Peña Nieto called for amnesty legislation and more open borders while blasting governors who have taken a tough stance on illegal immigration. * Mexico President Enrique Peña Nieto called on other states to "evolve" like California so the United States can be more like his home country. Moonbeam Brown has already given illegal immigrants driver's licenses, made California a sanctuary state, and signed the California DREAM Act. * Peña Nieto thanked Brown for his generosity toward illegal immigrants and called on other governors to follow suit, chastising those who are against open borders as unethical.* "This is the other Mexico," Peña Nieto reportedly "said of the United States, which is property to an estimated 11 million Mexican immigrants," according to the Los Angeles Times." -- One of two things need to happen.. Sgt Tahmooressi should be released since the Mexicam president says technically that there was no border so Tahmooressi didn't violate a border-crossing law, or, and my favorite.. the US should "gift" California to Mexico which would enable the US to get back to it's roots.
---
State rights ... they are under fire by OObamaCRAP and Common Core.. the same goes with federal hiway funding. How can the federal government make rules about funding/not funding federal projects that should be individual state's choices. Threats to withhold funding are a common tool/practice, but it's really not the federal government's money. The money was taken from the citizens of the individual states.
---
I've waited a day so I could "study" the report on the forum headed up by Jerry Vollmer before responding. Motivationist Jerry Vollmer, author of "Schools Cannot Do It Alone" was in town Tuesday. He was wowed by a "crowd" of 400 (I do wish there was a breakdown by profession included.. my guess is the bulk were from the MCSD school system). An L-E quote: "Vollmer used to insist the problems in schools could be fixed if they just ran like a business. But a teacher prompted him to rethink that idea. Vollmer’s ice cream company could return unsatisfactory blueberries to the supplier; the teacher must teach every child she receives.
* “Can we graft certain practices and procedures from the private sector onto the rarefied culture of preK-12? Yes. But it does not make it a business,” Vollmer said. “Your schools have no control over the quality of the raw material. They take what the parents send." -- ""your schools... take what the parents send"????Good grief.. does Vollmer and the MCSD system think 4, 4, 5 year olds are lost cause on the first day they enter a classroom? If so, this is probably the best explanation of why students are floundering. THe school system's JOB is to take, as Rush Limbaugh so accurately describes, "minds full of mush", and fill it with what the children need to know to successfully navigate through the world.
---
Either a LIV's or Mayor Obamalinson staffer's L-E "soundoff": "The trails, whitewater, zip line, etc., used minimal public finding. But if it will make you happy, we can eliminate it all and return to the days when our kids couldn’t wait to leave Columbus." -- Good grief.. Millions of tax dollars have gone it all these "ventures", and none of them will produce positive cash revenue through fees or sales taxes. It's not just what has already been spent out of public coffers, but the amounts that will come out of such in progressive years.
---
Another LIV or Mayor Obamalinson staffer's L-E "soundoff": " Kudos to Sam Wellborn. Money for good roads doesn’t just fall from the sky. Georgia politicians from both parties need to get some guts and make at least a small increase in the gas tax." -- Revenues are not the problem.. proper expense management and planning are the problem. How about finding a way to put fees on bicycles and electric chargers for hybid vehicles.
---
Questioning L-E "soundoff": " As I recall, the premise for creating rapids was to restore the river to its natural state. Did they have zip lines in the 1800s?" -- An even better question is why weren't the dams fully removed as part of the restoration, and why were manmade "wave-shapers" included in what was initiated as a restoration-back-to-the-1850s project?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “The man who views the world at fifty the same as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.” — Muhammad Ali, American boxing champion (1942- ).-- Hmmm,, same can be said for those who voted for Democratic Party candidates in their first few election opportunities.
---
From L-E editorial commentary: " Council voted unanimously for a plan to construct a tunnel under the troublesome intersection, using money earmarked in the regional sales tax for transportation. * The tunnel is the most expensive of the options presented to council." -- First I am shocked that tunneling is the most expensive option, but not surprised since Council, most of it, anyway, thinks $244,000,00 for a public outhouse is a bargain. Now as to the total costs.. these cannot be summed up on an engineer's table. With the tunnel system in one of our most crime ridden areas, a new crime opportunity has arisen. Lookouts can be stationed at either end and an awaiting accomplice(s) can be alerted by cellphone when a pedestrian or target car enters the tunnel, and whether the "coast is clear" of police at the time.

Online headline/story: "Girl, 9, accidentally shoots and kills gun instructor with Uzi * A girl who was at a shooting range in Arizona reportedly killed her instructor when the weapon recoiled over her shoulder and shot him in the head * the girl was there with her parents learning to fire a submachine gun" -- What were her parents thinking? You know.. this is an accident caused by greed that I blame the instructor more than the "whatever" parents. The instructor was getting paid, and could have, no, should have refused to teach a 9 year old to shoot a submachine gun. After all, this is not a Mid-East Islamic state.
---
Online story: "Matt Damon was conflicted when friends Jimmy Kimmel and Ben Affleck called on him to complete the ALS ice bucket challenge. The award-winning actor wanted to help a good cause, but didn't want to waste clean water in the process. * So, he did what any good humanitarian would do: He used toilet water instead." -- Good grief .. what an insignificant gesture.. Hollywood style over substance.. American toilet water comes through the same pipes as the kitchen sink and dishwasher. Now, if he recorded himself taking a dump, then pouring the toilet bowl water over his head....
---
HuffPost headline: "Hamas, Israel finally agree to permanent truce" -- "Permanent"? I guess we need to ask Bill Clinton to define "permanent". What this means is Israel has been whipping Hamas' and Hamas needs more rockets. Wonder if the Las Vegas odds' board just shorted out?
---
HuffPost headline/story: "Airstrikes hit Libya, without US consent * Egypt and the United Arab Emirates secretly carried out airstrikes against Islamist militias inside Libya, a State Department spokeswoman said Tuesday, decrying the intervention as an escalation of the North African country's already debilitating turmoil. U.S. officials said the United States had no prior notification of the attacks"- Good grief...why would Egypt.. any Islamic country for that matter, seek permission from Obamageddon? He'd still be drawing another line in the sand.
---
HuffPost headline: "Popular 'facts' that are actually lies" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought the HuffPost stopped drinking Kool-Aid when reading the Democratic campaign promise strategy.
---
From above story: "What we refer to as coffee beans are actually seeds." -- This was actually enlightening.
---
HuffPost headline: "Former Florida Governor Charlie won his democratic primary," -- Good grief.. Democrats couldn't stand him as a Republican.. or an Independent, for that matter, but have embraced him as a Democrat? Well, Democrats embrace Obamageddon, Pelosi, Biden, and Reid, too...
---
HuffPost story: "The New York Times editorial board announced it would not be endorsing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) in the upcoming September primary for governor." -- What the NYT didn't do was endorse his doesn't-have-a-chance primary opponent or say it would endorse the Republican in the November General election.
---
For prosperity: The S&P 500 crossed the "2000" point mark on August 26, 2014.
---
Online headline: "Billionaire Tom Steyer Launches Campaign to Rally Obama Supporters Against Keystone XL Pipeline" -- You know.. when a liberal billionaire such as Tom Steyer. or George Soros or Bill Gates or Warren Buffet for that matter, makes a political statement. look into their holdings to see where they have figured out where it will benefit them financially. In other words.. follow the money..
---
Online headline: "CELL PHONE SHOCK Was Lerner's Blackberry deliberately wiped?"-- DOH!
---
L-E story: " Court records show that all four suspects have been apprehended after large rocks were dropped onto cars from a freeway overpass in Gainesville. * Gainesville police on Aug. 20 announced the arrests of two men accused of dropping rocks on Interstate 985 earlier this month." -- Good grief.. glad mainstream media is in Ferguson, MO.. otherwise, MSM would be in Gainsville defending the actions of the four as simply a "boys-will-be-boys" prank.
---
With an alert from a fellow BCer - Seems Pric Holder has asked Bill Clinton to re-define "looters". Now the Democrats refer to them as "undocumented shoppers".
---
Good grief..Obamageddon was addressing Veterans at a convention in NC. The silence at his pauses were "deafening". Once, the names of the two NC Senators were mentioned, but not one applause was heard.
---
The 36% who disapprove of Obamageddon's foreign policy is interpreted by mainstream media in a positive manner. MSM interprets this to mean 64% must approve. Well, the truth is the 64% who aren't expressing disapproval are those who simply have no clue.
---
Online quote source: " “Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.” - Barbara De Angelis" -- In other words.. get informed and stick to your beliefs rather than compromise them. Also.. never vote for a Democrat's politiocal promise.
---
Online headline: "State Department: ISIS Not At War With U.S. “And They Don’t Represent Any Religion”" -- "don't represent any religion"? Hmmm, wonder if Stae Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf can name me the commanders of the Jewish and Christian Divisions of ISIS or ISIL?
--
Now we learn that a teenager group that killed another teen for stealing a stolen gun from them also had access to an AK-47. Let's pray the L-E reporter doesn't know whether it was truly an AK-47 of a semi-automatic look-alike.
---
Nutshell repeat: Last year, the Parole/Pardons board restored gun ownership rights to 666 convicted felons. The number is quite ironic as we associate tri-6s with the Devil. It's one thing to restore voting rights to someone who has served their time; it's a whole new ball game to give them back their guns.
---
L-E headline: "COLUMBUS COUNCIL APPROVES GOING BENEATH TRAIN RAILS AT ‘SPIDERWEB’ -- The fear factor just doubled for driving or walking through the intersection at night. Maybe the CPD had better build a Field Station at the halfway point.

HuffPost headline/story: "Burger King Fans Call For Boycott Over Tax Dodge * Burger King is getting whopped over its plan to avoid U.S. taxes by fleeing to Canada. * Burger King is just the latest American company to attempt a so-called tax inversion -- where a bigger U.S. company buys a smaller foreign firm in a country with a lower tax rate, renounces its U.S. corporate citizenship and then reincorporates in the other nation. Politicians and pundits have said the moves amount to little more than unpatriotic ploys to avoid paying taxes. * The corporate tax rate in the U.S. is 35 percent, the highest in the world. Canada's is about 15 percent." -- "unpatriotic ploys to avoid paying taxes."? Good grief.. On the other hand, the HuffPost would have also called the "Boston Tea Party" and "the Revolutionary War" unpatriotic, too. Now would be a good time for Congress to revisit our tax laws, and cut down the top ranges that the Obamageddon regime raised.
---
Talk about job losses.. Burger King has responsibilities and loyalties to it's employees and shareholders that have priority to which country it pays taxes. Paying 58% less in corporate taxes means that more money is available to raise salaries, hire new people, and pay higher dividends.. all of which are taxable to the government of the workers or investors.
---
Emmy's Night really shows us the priority of the mainstream media..4 of the first 5 "news stories" on HuffPost were Emmy related, and Ferguson, MO missed the Top 10 items. Oh, and "the funeral" in Ferguson wasn't in the Top 40 items.
---
Now.. the Ferguson item mentioned - HuffPost Story: "The St. Louis suburb, where unarmed black teen Michael Brown was shot dead August 9 by white police officer Darren Wilson, has just over 21,000 residents and more than 40,000 arrest warrants, according to ArchCity Defenders, a local advocacy group. * "Most of these warrants are from unpaid fines for nonviolent offenses. * "For many young people, these warrants act as a barrier to employment and housing. Just as importantly, the psychological trauma of spending each day subject to arrest and incarceration is debilitating." -- 40,000 outstanding warrants... this just confirms my argument that the ills between races are not racism, but culturism. Failure to take responsibility for actions in minor issues creates an ongoing path for self-destruction. Warrants for unpaid fines and non-violent offenses are issued only after the charged fails to answer an issue. It demonstrates a complete disrespect for the law and the police.
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama makes big decision following crises * Following the beheading of journalist James Foley and Russian troop movements, the President interrupted his vacation to return to Washington." -- "interrupted his vacation to return to Washington"? The only reason Obamageddon returned to Washington is because his two week rental is up... either that or he ran out of golf balls.
---
HuffPost headline: "NY Times Writer Says He Was Wrong To Call Michael Brown 'No Angel" -- Wrong? Only in the sense that the NYT is not too keen on reporting the truth.
---
Apparently Michael Brown's father's plea for peace while the funeral was going on didn't apply to funeral speakers.
---
HuffPost headline: "Michael Brown Funeral Filled With Cries For Justice" -- "Cries for justice"? It was more like rants for more street violence. You know, Michael Brown's plea on Sunday was for "peace" as he, uh, "we", "laid Michael to rest". Well, "peace" didn't make it through the eulogies.. and who going to be blamed.. Bush43 or the police?
---
HuffPost headline: "Hundreds Of Methane Plumes Seeping Out Of Seafloor Along East Coast" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought the HuffPost and its contributors were blaming this on Sea Cows.
---
Instant repeat - HuffPost headline/story: "Hundreds Of Methane Plumes Seeping Out Of Seafloor Along East Coast * In an unexpected discovery, hundreds of gas plumes bubbling up from the seafloor were spotted during a sweeping survey of the U.S. Atlantic Coast. * Even though ocean explorers have yet to test the gas, the bubbles are almost certainly methane, researchers report today (Aug. 24) in the journal Nature Geoscience." -- Good grief.. no testing.. no confirmation.. and HuffPost runs the story as gospel. Sorta like it ran the Ferguson, MO media lynching of Officer Wilson.
---
L-E story: "Two women told police they were shot at by an unknown number of suspects Sunday morning near Whitesville Road and Veterans Parkway, according to a Columbus police report. * The 24 and 27-year-old victims told police suspects they knew shot at them from a moving vehicle around 1:40 a.m. No injuries were reported during the incident. * The suspects were not described." -- "The suspects were not described"? Hmmm, and did the L-E even ASK about this? If there was doubt about the incident.. then the L-E shouldn't report any of it, but surely the race of the shooters was known.. why wasn't that reported?
---
WRBL 3 headline: "Michigan shrugs off bad memories of Appalachian St" -- hey,, the real story and headline should have been, "Appalachian State revels in the memory the 2007 upset win over Michigan". WRBL 3 could even have gotten a statement/quote from the APP State safety.. one Mark LeGree who played his high school ball here in Columbus at Pacelli.
---
This is a repeat of an item from yesterday's BC.. comments were heavy across the country, so want to keep this active:
Good grief.. the MCSD is a sponsor of Jamie Vollmer, the author of "Schools Cannot Do It Alone". What hypocrisy! Our schools have successfully eliminated parents and God from the classroom, so who does the MCSD think is left to answer their plea of help!
---
There's a FaceBook "poster" commenting about how America spends $40K a year incarcerating prisoners, but only $8K a year ob students. Retiring MCSD board member Cathy Williams reposted it with this comment: "The irony in this statement is that our habitual underfunding of public education is doing nothing more than funding the pipeline to our prisons. And, it isn't just about funding, it is about changing the culture around public education and BELIEVING that a system that is funded and works is about our future" I responded: "underfunding? Even states that spend twice as much as GA don't produce any better results. Too much is spent on aspects that hurt the education process. MCSD has over 500 buses ( at what..$100K per? -- $50MILLION) ,and the cost of fuel, tires, maintenance, drivers. The saddest part is when elementary students are bussed out of their neighborhoods, parents are taken out as well." Additionally.. it shouldn't take as much money to teach kids who should be there because they want to be, than it costs to keep prisoners contained in a place they don't want to be. One other thing.. the $40K per prisoner reflects either 1 or 2 in a cell ($40K-to-$80K per cell), while 20-to-30 kids are in a classroom which, at $8K per, "costs" $160K-to-$240K per classroom.
---
Online story: "While national news media continue to focus on race in Ferguson, Missouri, where a white police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, they apparently don’t think a similar case in Utah with the races reversed is that newsworthy. * Police in Salt Lake City are continuing their probe into an Aug. 11 shooting outside a 7-Eleven convenience store, when a black police officer, whom local media are referring to as “not white,” shot and killed 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, who was unarmed at the time, according to his supporters. * Police Chief Chris Burbank said the entire incident was captured on the body camera of the officer who shot Taylor. * “You will see on camera … the actions of everyone involved, including up to the point where our officer utilizes deadly force and his response thereafter,” Burbank told reporters. * He said the video, along with the officer’s identity, will be released at the “appropriate” time, adding it could be days, weeks or months." -- Had this been the situation in Ferguson, mainstream media would have been guilty of inciting a lynch mob to action! Now, I'm willing to wait for the Salt Lake City police to fully investigate and present the facts when the investigation is complete. Apparently, so are most Salt Lake City residents. Respect for the law is necessary..patience with the procedures to insure compliance with the law is necessary.
---
Comment on above story: - Oh, and by the way, the kid, whether known or unknown at the time by the officer, had a $25,000 bench warrant for a probation violation in connection with felony robbery and obstructing justice convictions, and the officer was answering a 911 call. "Police said officers were responding to a report of a man “waving a gun around.” * When officers arrived, they found three men leaving the convenience store, with one, later identified as Taylor, reportedly matching the description of the person reported in a 9-1-1 call. * Witnesses say Taylor was wearing headphones at the time and may have been trying to pull his pants up when he was gunned down." -- and no looting, no protests broke out.
---
L-E headline: "Council to choose tunnel or bridge at Buena Vista 'spider web' -- Hmmm I thought the GA DOT determined that going over RRs (as on Veterans and 2nd Ave previously) was its policy of choice. Tunneling will always have a flood risk, and goodness knows the perils it would bring to pedestrians just walking through the neighborhood.
---
Online headline/story: "Which Company Refuses Business with Israel, But Has 600 Stores in Muslim Countries? * company in particular was caught bragging about their vast partnerships with many Muslim countries in the Middle East, around 600 to be exact. * The coffee chain closed every store in Israel over 11 years ago and has recently issued a statement that they do not support Israel in any way and will not in the future" -- " coffee chain"? If you guessed any name but "Starbucks" please turn in your Breakfast Club membership.
---
Lest we forget.. pass on to your children.. and your children's teachers....https://www.youtube.com/embed/YaxGNQE5ZLA
---
Online story: "An increasing number of convicted felons in Georgia have been getting their gun ownership rights reinstated by the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. * The State Board of Pardons and Paroles restored firearms rights for more than 1,400 felons between 2008 and 2013, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday. The board restored gun rights for 666 (whatta ironic number...666) people last year, which is 10 times the number of pardons that restored firearms rights six years ago." -- What a contradictory move by our Board of Pardons and Paroles! Maybe some felons deserve the right to vote restored, but giving back their guns.. no way!
---
Online story: "Rather than take shots at each other, Democratic Rep. John Barrow and the Republican running for his east Georgia congressional seat have rolled out early campaign ads taking aim at the same target: President Barack Obama." -- Yeah.. Democrats will swear up and down they are for the people of GA, but just wait until they get under the Party thumb in Washington.
---
Another shooting on a military base.. Like the Texas situation , the shooter is being called a "disgruntled" individual rather than a terrorist. One other difference is in effect as well. This shooter wass a woman. Wonder what the second level of excuses will be if the public reacts to her being "disgruntled".. why not PMS as an excuse?
---
When is the GOP going to muzzle McCain and Graham? Of course the mainstream media is glad, actually enthusiastic to give them "air time".. if makes mainstream media's purpose to keep liberals on the hook to vote against other Republicans a lot easier
---
Where's Hillewinsky? Where's the Hillsbury DOUGHgirl? Race riots in Missouri, ISIS beheading reporters and Christian children in Iraq/Syria, General getting killed/buried, ongoing illegal alien surge, California earthquake, street crimes in Chicago and NYC escalating, ..chaos all around but no Hillary ... hmmm, wonder why?
---
Maybe there is a swing towards more responsible broadcasting. There was an explosion at a recycling plant, and Fox News actually said it had heard info concerning to cause but was going to wait until it could actually be confirmed.
---
L-E story on Mark Cuban speaking at local leadership forum: " “Everybody has their own style of leadership,” said Cuban, who explained true leaders must be able to communicate with those around them and jump in and get dirty, when necessary, leading by example when necessary. “Legends in their own minds are not great leaders.” -- The GOP should run this as its primary 2014 & 2016 ad with pictures of Obamageddon and Hillsbury DOUGHgirl fading in & out graphically.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Neither the left nor the right has the answers to the problems. The answers lie in the middle and it’s time that both sides move that way. Otherwise, we are destined for failure." -- Wrong... two ways.. First when you "compromise", no one gets what they really want so the matter is not resolved. Secondly, once you compromise what's best, the bar is lowered and is open to be lowered again and again, so nobody ever wins.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Whatever Michael Brown did in the store does not give the police officer the right to murder him. The kid was unarmed. Justice needs to be served." -- Let's backtrack.. what if Michael Brown had not robbed the store? What if.. Michael Brown had simply not struck Officer Wilson. What if.. Michael Brown had simply respected the officer's request to stop?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "As a black male, I am more concerned about getting shot by the police than I am about illegal immigration and terrorists." -- What a sad but telling statement.. it's not about racism at all.. there's just cultural decay.
---
L-E headline: "MISSOURI SHOOTING * SHARPTON CALLS FOR CHANGE AT MICHAEL BROWN’S FUNERAL" -- Well, as great philosophers throughout time have said.. change starts from within... only yiu can change you.. Al. when will we see you change?
---
There are two sides on the issue of Common Core.. one is compromised of those that Common Core puts bread on their table.. the other is concerned about what their children or other people's children are learning in school.

Online story: "- Italian authorities discovered 18 bodies in a boat of migrants Sunday as rescue operations went into overdrive this weekend, picking up some 3,500 would-be refugees at sea. * Interior Minister Angelino Alfano renewed his demand for the European Union to relieve pressure on Italy, which has seen some 100,000 migrants arrive so far this year alone. * The country says it spends 9.5 million euros ($13 million) a month to operate the beefed-up air and sea patrols that were launched after more than 360 migrants drowned off the Italian island of Lampedusa last October. * "Italy will make its own decisions" if EU partners don't offer assistance, he warned in a tweet. * The EU's home affairs commissioner, Cecilia Malmstrom, thanked Italy for its "huge efforts" to save lives and said in a statement she would meet Wednesday with Alfano "to better define priorities and provide assistance." -- Hmmm .. "Italy will make its own decisions"...."to better define priorities and provide assistance"? This sounds like the script for a new series of Clint Eastwood "spaghetti" movies satirizing the Texas/Arizona showdown with Pric Holder and Obamageddon.. A working title could be "The Goods, the Baaaaaad, and the Show Is Ugly".
----
That was some earthquake that struck California this weekend. My sister lives about 90 minutes from there and felt it about 3:20AM. And those pictures of devastation.. homes and stores were destroyed/shattered. Friends and neighbors helped each other.. did b=n't see of hear of a single incidence of looting and pillage. Hope the mainstream media reports that to Ferguson, MO.

Online story: "On April 10, 1912 the mighty ship set off on its maiden voyage. Five days later it would sink into the cold waters of the North Atlantic Ocean after colliding with an iceberg -- a monumental disaster that resulted in the deaths of more than 1,500 people. * Let's fast forward 100 years to the research published in the magazine "Significance", which proposes that the sinking was the result of a lot more than human, design and construction errors. In fact, they're saying It could also have been a case of bad meteorological luck. * Researchers in the paper point to the possibility of a greater number of icebergs that appeared unusually early that year, as a result of southern weather conditions. This meant the crew was likely unprepared for such an unimaginably large iceberg appearing in their path." -- " bad meteorological luck"? "unimaginably large iceberg "? Dare I say what this article is implying? "Global Warming" sunk the Titanic! You know what that means don't you.. Like the Internet that Algore didn't discover.. Algore didn't discover "Global Warming", either.
---
Online story: "Little League Baseball would consider compensating future players, CEO Steve Keener told Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan. * The organization will make $76 million the next eight years on its TV deal, and Keener said the organization would think about sharing some of that money with the kids." -- Good grief! It's bad enough that LL has allowed adults on the field in the coaches' boxes, but paying kids for being kids-with-a-dream is going bonkers. What next.. Little League player agents?
---
Online story: "This year's Emmy nominations saw a historic first: Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox was nominated for the outstanding guest actress in a comedy series award, making her the first openly transgender person nominated in an acting category." -- Good grief.. the real travesty here is that is a category for a "guest actor/actress" on a serial show. Besides, if there was a legitimate "guest actor/actress" category for anything, it should be given to the Obamageddons for their occasional appearances at the White House.
---
Online story: "The Drug Enforcement Administration has announced tighter restrictions on prescription painkillers in an effort to curb drug abuse in the U.S. * According to a notice published in the Federal Register, the regulation will classify hydrocodone-combination products, such as Vicodin, as a Schedule II drug instead of a less-restrictive Schedule III drug. Pure hydrocodone has already been listed as a Schedule II drug since the 1970s." -- Well,, another nail in the OObamaCRAP coffin as this will surely spike the costs upward, and at the same time, this will drive the street price for "the good painkillers" off the chart which will also make pharmacy store robberies/burglaries more common .. and violence prone.
---
The Reverend Al is staging an "anti-police" march in NYC in a Staten Island business district. It would be more than fitting for the NYPD to announce it will not arrest vigilante security squads that the Staten Island businesses want hire to protect their investments if looting or rioting occur.
---
Online story: ""Tomorrow (Monday) all I want is peace while my son is being laid to rest," Michael Brown Sr. told hundreds of people in St. Louis' largest city park during brief remarks at a festival that promotes peace over violence. "That's all I ask. And thank you." -- I sincerely hope he gets it, and that he wants peace before and after the burial ritual. We'll see.
---
L-E headline: "Fatal shooting at The Supper Club leaves one dead in fourth homicide in three days" -- Number 19.....hey Mayor Obamalinson..how about an upgrade on your views of the crime picture in Columbus, and how about submitting your record to a recall vote?
---
There's no political correctness in golf..It's probably the only aspect of our lives that isn't. A golf announcer was describing Jim Furyk's play from a very dense rough. The announcer casually opined that it was tougher for Furyk because he's " elderly"... then, even more casually, the announcer confirmed his boss by saying Furyk is 44. Reality can be cruel.
---
Online story: "Three White House officials will attend Michael Brown’s funeral Monday on behalf of the Obama administration, a White House official told NBC News. * Assistant to the President and White House Cabinet Secretary Broderick Johnson, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement Marlon Marshall and Heather Foster, an advisor to the public engagement office will be at the ceremony" -- You know.. it would seem more sincere, more unifying, more realistic if one or more of those White House staffers were white. On the other hand, I'm glad Obamageddon didn't send Robert Gibbs, Jay Carney or Josh Earnest.. no one would be them if they passed on sympathy and condolences from the White House.

Must see:

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If 71% of Americans want a minimum wage increase, 88% want background checks, 80% want a path to citizenship and 90% want equal pay, why are Republicans still getting elected?" -- "why are Republican's getting elected"? Good grief.. even libs know that none of these "wants" can happen with a super-majority Democrat government. If so, there would be 71% of American just wanting any job, 88% would be victims of the criminals who care less about background checks, most of the 80% of citizens would be seeking asylum in their previous countries, and the 90% who want equal pay will actrually have to work to earn it.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Anti-peace, anti-environment, anti-gay, anti-female, anti-minority, anti-living wage, anti-public education, anti-regulations that keep us all safe, etc. In a word, conservatives." -- Oh,, and liberals are pro-individual rights, pro-individual right-to-life, pro-individual success, and pro-individual security in the home and on the streets? Gimmee a break!
---
L-E's " Thought for Today, “Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.” — Truman Capote (1924-1984)" -- Unfortunately.. today's libs/Democrats still feel success in government programs just need a lot more failure to succeed.
---
Good grief.. the MCSD is a sponsor of Jamie Vollmer, the author of "Schools Cannot Do It Alone". What hypocrisy! Our schools have successfully eliminated parents and God from the classroom, so who does the MCSD think is left to answer their plea of help!
---
Went to the Country's Midnight Run Saturday night.. Attendance was obviously down from previous ones. I hope it was because of the heat index, not because people stayed away after the rumors circuated that there was going to be racial troubles this past weekend.
---
Dan Magill.. the legend will live on forever.

Sunday, August 24, 2014

Short version today.. enjoyed spending day in other activities. Capped off a fun day watching bride run in "Country's Midnight Run". Home at 1:30AM EDST

Online story: ""I think the first thing that needs to happen, you need to arrest Officer Wilson. He shot and killed a man, shot him multiple times." Harvard Law School Professor Charles Ogletree told NBC. "No one knows anything about him, no one knows why he did it." * So why hasn't Darren Wilson been arrested? As The Christian Science Monitor points out, not everyone agrees that Wilson should be taken into custody. That divide can even been seen among law professors within the same university. * The Monitor quotes another Harvard law professor who says, "We should not arrest [Officer Darren Wilson] until there's a substantial level of proof of criminality, even if it appeared that the police acted improperly." -- Hmmm, guess which Harvard professor will not pass his next peer review?

---
Online story: "Microsoft (MSFT) is currently sitting on almost $29.6 billion it would owe in U.S. taxes if it repatriated the $92.9 billion of earnings it is keeping offshore, according to disclosures in the company's most recent annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The amount of money that Microsoft is keeping offshore represents a significant spike from prior years, and the levies the company would owe amount to almost the entire two-year operating budget of the company's home state of Washington" -- Two things.. it really demonstrates the hypocrisy of Bill Gates claim that he (and other super wealthies) just don't pay enough in taxes, and it demonstrates why the US tax code is degtrimental to business and job growth in America.

---
HuffPost headline: "Neanderthals probably died out earlier than we thought" -- Hmmm, that's sorta contrary to the political doctrine of the HuffPost, the DNC, and Ivy League Academia.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The three leading causes of death are legal: tobacco, obesity and alcohol. Drug abuse is number 10, yet we’ve squandered a trillion dollars in the failed drug war." -- The only money squandered is the amount used to keep this LIV alive. I guess he/she wishes Drug Abuse was #1 on the list.

Columbus Council - City Manager's Agenda:
Street Acceptance, Portion Of Wellington Trace Located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe: Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that portion of Wellington Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe. The Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends the acceptance. -- Hmmm I'd vote for it.. it will be nice to have a street free of potholes to drive on..

Online story: "A nine-year-old Chicago boy was executed in a back yard in broad daylight after he ran outside upset because he could not have a cupcake. * He ran outside without shoes on. His mother could not find him. Twenty minutes later the police were knocking on her door. * Antonio Smith was shot multiple times in the chest Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. outside his South Side apartment building, according to police. * His killer still has not been found." -- Why aren't there throngs of neighbors protesting what's going on in their neighborhood, and working with, bonding with, the police department to rid South Chicago of the incessant killings? Where's Jesse? Where's Al? Where are WaldObama and Holder?

---
New Georgia Project.... Columbus, and other Georgia cities, were recently blanketed with door-to-door teams canvassing neighborhoods in a voter registration drive. Such drives are authorized by the Secretary of State on condition that such drives are strictly non-partisan. There's a problem concerning y=that condition when the canvassers leave door-hanger information stating that "There is an ongoing effort to make it more difficult for US to vote. Registering today will help FORCE politicians to FOCUS on issues WE care about" . You know, soliciting voter registration based partisanship issues is hardly the condition such drives are authorized/legal. Additionally, a GA State Representative, one Stacey Abrams, is also the House Minority Leader for Georgia's General Assembly. The ethics of a State Representative heading up an organization that violates the state ordinances for such needs to be examined and acted on by the full body of the State Legislature..

---
You know ..the main difference between Bush43 addressing the nation , and Obamageddon is that Bush43 tried to assure..reassure us, while Obamageddon just tries to blame someone else.
---
Online story: " A person familiar with the penalty says Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel has been fined $12,000 by the NFL for flipping his middle finger at Washington's sideline." -- Hmmm, wonder how much he'd gotten fined if the NFL had seen his extended middle finger as he was writing the check?
---
Online headline/story: "Venezuela Will Begin Fingerprinting Grocery Shoppers To Control How Much Food They Buy * resident Nicolas Maduro says a mandatory fingerprinting system is being implemented at grocery stores to combat food shortages. He calls it an "anti-fraud system" like the fingerprint scan the country uses for voting." -- Hmmm... wonder where WaldObama, Pric Holder, and Sean Penn are? Perhaps they will allow finger prints as an option for Photo-ID for voting? Hmm, not a bad idea.. with finger print readers linked to the FBI database, illegal voters because of felonies, or for that matter, outstanding warrants, would cut back terrifically on voter fraud.
---
Online story: "More than 2,000 more Coloradans had their health insurance plans cancelled as a result of the Affordable Care Act, according to a letter from the state regulatory agency to state Senate Republicans. * Following a dust-up earlier this year between Colorado Democratic Sen. Mark Udall and the Division of Insurance, Republicans have requested regular updates on policies that are cancelled because they don’t conform to ObamaCare or because companies are getting out of the individual insurance market." -- Hmmm, wonder how many of those who got their insurance canceled really even care since they no longer need medical prescriptions to buy marijuana?
---
Online story: "School children in Elyria, Ohio are mourning the demise of a 40-year tradition – the loss of their beloved pink cookie. The fabled cookie was done in by a pound of butter, six cups of powdered sugar and the Obama administration’s food police * “It no longer meets the national school lunch program guidelines for snacks,” said Amy Higgins, the spokesperson for Elyria City Schools. “It has too many calories.” * The USDA “Smart Snacks in School” standards mandate that all snacks must contain less than 200 calories. It’s not exactly clear how many calories are in the pink cookie but the recipe for the frosting calls for a pound of butter. * “The guidelines for snacks are very strict, and there is no wiggle room.”" -- Hmmm.. maybe we should slip "pink cookies" into the pockets of illegal aliens and the DOJ would "sniff'em out" faster for deportation...
---
Online story: "Hamas carried out a deadly purge of suspected informants in Gaza, killing as many as 18 people suspected of providing information to the Israel Defense Forces as fighting flared anew following the collapse of Egyptian-brokered cease-fire talks. * Masked gunmen killed seven suspected informants for Israel near a Gaza City mosque as worshippers were ending midday prayers on Friday, according to a witness and Hamas media. Earlier in the day, Hamas killed 11 men by firing squad in Gaza City's police headquarters, according to the Hamas-run Al Rai website." -- Good grief.. Obamageddon is willing to sit at a negotiation table, Nancy Pelosi thinks Hamas is a "humanitarian organization", and the UN thinks Israel is causing the problem.. All three of these entities need to be deported from America... now.. and take Holder with them.
---
Hmmm, have you noticed that since cooler heads have begun assimilating the truth in Ferguson.. the stories are less volatile and fewer are on the front page? Of course it doesn't mean mainstream media will apologize for stirring up a lynch-mob mentality campaign to persecute Officer Darren Wilson as a racist.
---
Hmmm... I know all you WOW customers know what I'm talking about here, but have you noticed fewer cable companies are browbeating satellite TV since the "land line" companies have made it mandatory to have digital signal receivers on all your TVs? I can't imagine satellite TV having more pixilated "stalls" in transmission that what we WOW customers have been experiencing.
---
L-E story: " Gunmen attacked a Sunni mosque during Friday prayers and killed at least 64 people, prompting Sunni lawmakers to withdraw from talks on forming a new, more inclusive government capable of confronting the Islamic extremists who have overrun large swaths of Iraq." -- You know..sadly, there are liberals in America who would defend this action because they feel there should be a mandatory separation of church and state.
---
L-E headline/story: "Hamas kills 18 suspected informers to deter leaks * 11 alleged informants were shot by a firing squad at Gaza City police headquarters. * Two of the 11 were women * In one incident, masked gunmen lined up seven men, their heads covered by bags, along a wall outside a Gaza City mosque and shot them to death in front of hundreds of people" -- To mainstream media, those killed were alleged informers and killing them was simply a way to "deter leaks", yet with no more info, perhaps even less, mainstream media has publicly persecuted and digitally "lynched" Officer Wilson in Ferguson, MO while edifying his 6'4", 292 pound adversary as an innocent victim of racism.
---
Is there something in "the whitewater"? Seems neither Phenix City nor Columbus education systems can meet, much less surpass, their state's averages of progress tests.
---
L-E story: " A senior White House official raised the possibility Friday of a broader American military campaign that targets an Islamic extremist group’s bases in Syria, saying the U.S would take whatever action is necessary to protect national security. * “We’re not going to be restricted by borders,” said Ben Rhodes, President Barack Obama’s deputy national security adviser." -- "we're not going to be restricted by borders"? Hmmm. meanwhile, back at the Mexican border, a one-way door exists, and American soldiers are 1: restricted from going after drug cartel armies that threaten our national security, and 2: from rescuing Sgt Tahmooressi from a Mexican jail.
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee coroner: Mother and son were victims of homicide" -- In spite of the L-E's contentions.. these are murder victims 17 and 18. Bet Mayor Obamalinson is sure glad that her re-election is not pending in November.
---
L-E headline: "New Obama birth control fixes for religious groups" -- Hmmm, we know Obamageddon is trying to appease religious groups because they will fight it to the US Supreme Court.. and win, so now he is trying to appease them. What he doesn't realize is that he's brilliantly come up with a near perfect (and free) birth control method. He should require everyone in a sexual state to go online and get the location of the nearest birth control dispenser.. by the time anyone finds one, he/she will be out of the mood to want to do it anymore.
---
L-E headline/story: "GEORGIA BOARD OF EDUCATION * INPUT SOUGHT ON PUBLIC EDUCATION * Common Core among likely topics * The board welcomes comments, but questions won’t be answered, said Dawn Caputo, the board’s administrative assistant." -- Good grief.. comments are welcomed, but "questions won't be answered"? Hmmm - that about answers all my questions about whether to attend or not.
---
Additional comment about the GA DOE "listening session": What will be accomplished at a short notice meeting ? I raised objection with the local board over the use of rather perverse book, "The Bluest Eye" which brought a sympathetic view of pedophilia, and other child abuse situations that more or less tried to make perpetrators appear as victims. Our MCSD did not want to deal with it.
---
L-E story: " Largely due to a failure to keep records of phone calls and the rogue actions of a former football assistant coach, Georgia Tech has been censured by the NCAA for an failure to monitor. The school also self-imposed two years of additional probation following the four-year probation it received after the NCAA’s investigation into the improper benefits received by a former football player." You know, I first wondered why GA Tech didn't take the IRS defense.. that their hard drives all crashed and all the info was lost...then I realized even the White House wouldn't believe that lie.
---
L-E headline: "COLLEGE FOOTBALL * More schools are mixing beer, football at stadiums" -- Hmmm, I see where Colorado State is included.. is there any doubt that stadium sales of marijuana will follow suit since proponents are sure marijuana is less of a problem than alcohol?
---
L-E headline: "Executives at Kraft Foods, which owns Jell-O, say they’re confident they can revitalize the brand * Jell-O can’t stop slippery sales slide in last 4 years" -- Hmmm, I guess Jell-O just needs to copy the flavors of Obamageddon's Kool-Aid.
---
You know.. 20 years ago.. no, 6 years ago.. could you imagine newspaper car ads for 13 year old used cars being highlighted in pictorial color ads?

L-E headline: "Obama vows justice in journalist’s killing; failed rescue mission revealed" --
Good grief...Obamageddon has released info that may be detrimental to informants who gave the out-of-date info. It also endangers additional American hostages now and in the future. Guess his main reason was to keep this info from coming public 2 weeks before the November elections.
---
Instant repeat: "L-E headline: "Obama vows justice in journalist’s killing; failed rescue mission revealed" --
The ISIS/ISIL recording of the decapitation of James Foley has been confirmed as real.. Maybe the White House is finally "appalled" for a CHANGE..... HOPEfully, the White House will be as concerned about it as Ferguson, MO.
---
The White House released info on a botched rescue mission. Political speculators are somewhat stunned at the release of such as it endangers the lives of the hostages and informants. I'm not surprised in the least. If Obamageddon tried to keep this under wraps, it would become a "story" about two weeks before the November elections.
---
Instant repeat: "L-E headline: "Obama vows justice in journalist’s killing; failed rescue mission revealed" -- You know.. Israel seems to have a better record of seeking out and destroying pockets of Hamas leaders. Perhaps, Obamageddon should call Netanyahu before sending in the next rescue team to find Ameican hostages.
---
HuffPost headline: "Mitt Romney Says Obama Is Doing A 'Good Deal Worse Than Even I Expected' -- Hmmm, I haven't been surprised in the least... Maybe Romney isn't as qualified as we need? Well, at least he's a "learner".

---
After all the horror stories of 85 year old grandmas and 2 year old babies being strip searched of their diapers, and all the invasive body scans, we are finding out that it was and still is easy to "fool" the body scanners and TSA agents and slip a gun or knife through the security stations. It seems that if the weapon is taped to the inside or outside of your leg, the object blends in with the background "drop". The "drop", you know, the dark background photographers have when you pose for a portrait, camouflages the presence of a dark object taped to the outside/inside of your leg.
---
In a way..Sam Nunn's daughter does have one skill set desirable of the Democratic Party .... she was running someone else's foundation, so she already knows how to spend other people's money:

---
Well, well, well.. Mo'ne' is no mo...it seems the LL World Series for the American division will come down to a single game between Las Vegas, NV and Chicago, IL. Wonder what the bet between Harry Reid, D-NV and Obamageddon will be... whether Reid releases all the House bills he's sitting on or not if Nevada doesn't win.
---
Dr Brantley...the doctor afflicted by Ebola while doing missionary work in Liberia was so rightfully in praise of God's presence in his life and work, I wonder if the non-Fox News networks didn't bleep him out.

---
Online story: "MLB's all-time hit king Pete Rose said he wants incoming commissioner Rob Manfred to give him a second chance and consider reversing his lifetime ban." -- Sorry Charlie, MLB wants "tuna" that tastes good, AND has good tastes. Besides, you had second and third appeals with Bud Selig and Fay Vincent.
---
Online story: "The nonpartisan Government Accountability Office says the Defense Department's failure to notify the relevant congressional committees of the five Taliban leaders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl swap at least 30 days in advance of the exchange broke the law." -- Hmmm, not that Obamageddon cares about a law he doesn't like, but maybe Congress should demand Obamageddon use his proclaimed vast knowledge of exactly where the 5 have gone, and go and bring them back.
---
In a recent development, incumbent Senator Mark Pryor, D-Ark, finding himself is a tight race for re-election , has decided to promote his cause for voters to return him to Washington based on his "yes" vote on OObamaCRAP... Hmmm would have guessed it.. St Jude isn't working for them so now Democrats in real trouble in the polls are declaring Obamageddon their patron of lost causes.
---
Online story: "Adding to the major changes "The View" is already undergoing, the show revealed Thursday that it is also getting an entirely new set and logo." -- Hmmm, it could have saved a lot of money if ABC asked me to design the new set and logo.. It's a reality show. ....I'd have suggested the set be a "big ZERO" and the logo be that "big ZERO" fading to a blank and soundless screen.
---
Online story: "Unintended consequences abound when it comes to emerging technology, and self-driving cars are no exception. Numerous ethical and legal dilemmas associated with autonomous vehicles are currently being explored and have been well documented, but it seems there is one drawback that has been missing from the conversation: where are we going to get our extra organs?" -- What a sick analogy.. but untrue... Microsoft will be involved so we know there won't ever be a shortage of car "crashes".
---
On the bright side of item above.. if the writer is correct, there won't be as big a need for organs for transplants in the future.
---
Online headline/story: "Of 163 arrests since shooting, 7 from Ferguson, Mo. * St. Louis County spokeswoman Candace Jarrett provided the arrest list, the crimes they are charged with, and their addresses and years of birth. Many are from communities near Ferguson, but just seven are from Ferguson, where a white police officer shot the black 18-year-old on Aug. 9." -- Hmmm, and the reason is that the outsiders came to Ferguson to get arrested... even some of the media. There's no reason that a protest assembly cannot be arrest free. One the bright side... media appears to be recognizing that Michael Brown was not some frail "teen". Now media is referring to him the " an 18-year-old" or "18-year-old man". Now, if we can get the media to include this 18-year-old was 6'4" and almost 300 pounds worth of rage, the facts will start to fall in place.
---
"Patience is in abundance".... pretty hollow words, ....assessment...by our top Federal Attorney General since his presence in Ferguson demonstrates anything but patience.
---
The "coalition" protesting whatever in Ferguson have threatened more violence if Officer Wilson is not immediately fired and convicted of killing Michael Brown. Trial be damned....justice be damned, I guess. Now, what NEEDS to be done is that entire mob be incarcerated immediately , and a class action civil rights suit be filed by the DOJ for conspiring to deny Officer Wilson's guarantee by our Constitution, and another for conspiring to commit domestic terrorism.
---
With all the potential riot atmosphere percolating in Ferguson, MO, the police and citizens of Ferguson could use help . How about the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and Gun Owners of America each call an emergency convention in Ferguson and help balance the odds.
---
In round figures, the radius of Earth is about 4,000 miles..the surface area of the Earth is about 200 BILLION square miles.. in square feet, that's 557,568,000,000,000,000,000,000 square feet of area surface. Using the European Space Agency's CryoSat 2 satellite, the Alfred Wegener Institute from Germany has found that western Antarctica and Greenland are losing massive amounts of ice * ,""Combined, the two ice sheets are thinning at a rate of 500 cubic kilometres per year, said glaciologist Dr. Angelika Humber" -- Let's see.. 500 cubic kilometers = 17,968,500,000,000 square feet. Completely melted, that's a 1/32,032,056,098th addition to the overall water level of the Earth. Where do these guys get their alarmist degrees.. the Algore Online School of Wishful Mediocrity?
---
HuffPost story: "A federal judge on Thursday declared Florida's ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional, joining state judges in four counties who have sided with gay couples wishing to tie the knot." -- Excuse me.. just Wednesday, it was announced that the US Supreme Court is weighing the Virginia law.. Why is there not a moratorium on new lower court actions/decisions until after the Supreme Court rules on what it has in house?
---
HuffPost headline: "Nixon Orders National Guard To 'Begin Systematically Withdrawing' From Ferguson" -- Good grief.. the Obamageddon Iraq game plan, and we've all seen how well that has worked. What's next.. is Governor Nixon going to follow Obamageddon's ALS "ice bucket challenge" refusal, too?
---
Online quote source: "“When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things.” - Joe Namath " -- Hmmm, obviously, Obamageddon is no Joe Namath.

From the "Unbelievable.. but unfortunately true, facts one can stumble upon looking for other news on the I-Net" department - Online story: "Over 16% of the $1.2 trillion in outstanding student loan debt belongs to individuals over 50 years old, according to a recent statistic from the New York Federal Reserve Bank. * Look at the story of Barbara Foster, a 60 year old woman who is looking to retire soon with her husband. The trouble is, she still has $75,000 in student loan debt that she owes, from student loans she took out in the 1970s. She works, but her husband was recently laid off and is only getting by with temporary work. They don’t own a home and have minimal savings – in fact, their net worth is negative when you include their student loan debt.* now, many parents in their 40s and early 50s are considering taking out Parent PLUS Loans to finance their children’s college education." -- Good grief... you know, no student loan should be granted for a career that will not produce the revenue that will justify the loan which would eventually reduce the cost of education for all students. The student loan program just spurs scam offers to the young that have no clue about compound interests, or penalties for missing payments. It just sounds like "it's too good to be true" to a student who probably took it out to take remedial course to get into a college.
---
L-E story: " The ongoing drought in the western United States has caused so much loss of groundwater that the Earth, on average, has lifted up about 0.16 inches over the last 18 months, according to a new study. * The situation was even worse in the snow-starved mountains of California, where the Earth rose up to 0.6 inches." -- "the Earth rose"? Surely this story was picked up out of the file of April Fool's Day stories available...
---
L-E story: "CINCINNATI — A Roman Catholic diocese in Ohio is discouraging its 113 schools from participating in the ice bucket challenge to benefit the ALS Association, saying the group's funding of embryonic stem cell research is "in direct conflict with Catholic teaching." -- Good grief.. then why doesn't the Pope state that no Catholic can vote for any politician who is in favor of abortions-on-demand?
---
L-E story: "Lawyers at the State Department have banned American ambassadors and other high-profile foreign service officers from participating in the ice-bucket challenge to raise money and awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease, also called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. In a cable sent this week to all U.S. diplomatic missions, the lawyers say it runs afoul of federal ethics rules barring officials from using public office for private gain "no matter how worthy the cause." -- "no matter how worthy the cause"? We would be a lot happier, and a lot better off if the White House barred the use of public office for unethical political fund raising and personal gain.. starting WITH the White House.
---
L-E story: "Some natural gas customers of Liberty Utilities in Muscogee County will see a 5 percent increase in their bill, according to a letter sent to customers. * The increase applies only to about 1,500 of Liberty’s approximately 60,000 Columbus customers. The increase is to pass along a city/county franchise fee that the company had mistakenly not been charging to some customers who live near county lines * The vast majority of Liberty’s local customers already pay the franchise fee * The franchise fee compensates the city/county for the use of public rights of way and roads where gas lines are run" -- Whoa... wait a minute.. maybe utility companies have this backwards.. if the utilities are paying the City/county for use of public rights of way, why aren't the utilities PAYING us customers for rental rights for their pipes and lines that run under our property? Yeah... and why aren't the utility companies reimbursing us for wear and tear on our lawns and shrubbery damages when their readers trample over them to read the meters!
