HuffPost headline/story: "Burger King Fans Call For Boycott Over Tax Dodge * Burger King is getting whopped over its plan to avoid U.S. taxes by fleeing to Canada. * Burger King is just the latest American company to attempt a so-called tax inversion -- where a bigger U.S. company buys a smaller foreign firm in a country with a lower tax rate, renounces its U.S. corporate citizenship and then reincorporates in the other nation. Politicians and pundits have said the moves amount to little more than unpatriotic ploys to avoid paying taxes. * The corporate tax rate in the U.S. is 35 percent, the highest in the world. Canada's is about 15 percent." -- "unpatriotic ploys to avoid paying taxes."? Good grief.. On the other hand, the HuffPost would have also called the "Boston Tea Party" and "the Revolutionary War" unpatriotic, too. Now would be a good time for Congress to revisit our tax laws, and cut down the top ranges that the Obamageddon regime raised.
---
Talk about job losses.. Burger King has responsibilities and loyalties to it's employees and shareholders that have priority to which country it pays taxes. Paying 58% less in corporate taxes means that more money is available to raise salaries, hire new people, and pay higher dividends.. all of which are taxable to the government of the workers or investors.

Emmy's Night really shows us the priority of the mainstream media..4 of the first 5 "news stories" on HuffPost were Emmy related, and Ferguson, MO missed the Top 10 items. Oh, and "the funeral" in Ferguson wasn't in the Top 40 items.
---
Now.. the Ferguson item mentioned - HuffPost Story: "The St. Louis suburb, where unarmed black teen Michael Brown was shot dead August 9 by white police officer Darren Wilson, has just over 21,000 residents and more than 40,000 arrest warrants, according to ArchCity Defenders, a local advocacy group. * "Most of these warrants are from unpaid fines for nonviolent offenses. * "For many young people, these warrants act as a barrier to employment and housing. Just as importantly, the psychological trauma of spending each day subject to arrest and incarceration is debilitating." -- 40,000 outstanding warrants... this just confirms my argument that the ills between races are not racism, but culturism. Failure to take responsibility for actions in minor issues creates an ongoing path for self-destruction. Warrants for unpaid fines and non-violent offenses are issued only after the charged fails to answer an issue. It demonstrates a complete disrespect for the law and the police.
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama makes big decision following crises * Following the beheading of journalist James Foley and Russian troop movements, the President interrupted his vacation to return to Washington." -- "interrupted his vacation to return to Washington"? The only reason Obamageddon returned to Washington is because his two week rental is up... either that or he ran out of golf balls.
---
HuffPost headline: "NY Times Writer Says He Was Wrong To Call Michael Brown 'No Angel" -- Wrong? Only in the sense that the NYT is not too keen on reporting the truth.
---
Apparently Michael Brown's father's plea for peace while the funeral was going on didn't apply to funeral speakers.
---
HuffPost headline: "Michael Brown Funeral Filled With Cries For Justice" -- "Cries for justice"? It was more like rants for more street violence. You know, Michael Brown's plea on Sunday was for "peace" as he, uh, "we", "laid Michael to rest". Well, "peace" didn't make it through the eulogies.. and who going to be blamed.. Bush43 or the police?
---
HuffPost headline: "Hundreds Of Methane Plumes Seeping Out Of Seafloor Along East Coast" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought the HuffPost and its contributors were blaming this on Sea Cows.
---
Instant repeat - HuffPost headline/story: "Hundreds Of Methane Plumes Seeping Out Of Seafloor Along East Coast * In an unexpected discovery, hundreds of gas plumes bubbling up from the seafloor were spotted during a sweeping survey of the U.S. Atlantic Coast. * Even though ocean explorers have yet to test the gas, the bubbles are almost certainly methane, researchers report today (Aug. 24) in the journal Nature Geoscience." -- Good grief.. no testing.. no confirmation.. and HuffPost runs the story as gospel. Sorta like it ran the Ferguson, MO media lynching of Officer Wilson.
---
L-E story: "Two women told police they were shot at by an unknown number of suspects Sunday morning near Whitesville Road and Veterans Parkway, according to a Columbus police report. * The 24 and 27-year-old victims told police suspects they knew shot at them from a moving vehicle around 1:40 a.m. No injuries were reported during the incident. * The suspects were not described." -- "The suspects were not described"? Hmmm, and did the L-E even ASK about this? If there was doubt about the incident.. then the L-E shouldn't report any of it, but surely the race of the shooters was known.. why wasn't that reported?
---
WRBL 3 headline: "Michigan shrugs off bad memories of Appalachian St" -- hey,, the real story and headline should have been, "Appalachian State revels in the memory the 2007 upset win over Michigan". WRBL 3 could even have gotten a statement/quote from the APP State safety.. one Mark LeGree who played his high school ball here in Columbus at Pacelli.

This is a repeat of an item from yesterday's BC.. comments were heavy across the country, so want to keep this active:
Good grief.. the MCSD is a sponsor of Jamie Vollmer, the author of "Schools Cannot Do It Alone". What hypocrisy! Our schools have successfully eliminated parents and God from the classroom, so who does the MCSD think is left to answer their plea of help!
---
There's a FaceBook "poster" commenting about how America spends $40K a year incarcerating prisoners, but only $8K a year ob students. Retiring MCSD board member Cathy Williams reposted it with this comment: "The irony in this statement is that our habitual underfunding of public education is doing nothing more than funding the pipeline to our prisons. And, it isn't just about funding, it is about changing the culture around public education and BELIEVING that a system that is funded and works is about our future" I responded: "underfunding? Even states that spend twice as much as GA don't produce any better results. Too much is spent on aspects that hurt the education process. MCSD has over 500 buses ( at what..$100K per? -- $50MILLION) ,and the cost of fuel, tires, maintenance, drivers. The saddest part is when elementary students are bussed out of their neighborhoods, parents are taken out as well." Additionally.. it shouldn't take as much money to teach kids who should be there because they want to be, than it costs to keep prisoners contained in a place they don't want to be. One other thing.. the $40K per prisoner reflects either 1 or 2 in a cell ($40K-to-$80K per cell), while 20-to-30 kids are in a classroom which, at $8K per, "costs" $160K-to-$240K per classroom.

Online story: "While national news media continue to focus on race in Ferguson, Missouri, where a white police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, they apparently don’t think a similar case in Utah with the races reversed is that newsworthy. * Police in Salt Lake City are continuing their probe into an Aug. 11 shooting outside a 7-Eleven convenience store, when a black police officer, whom local media are referring to as “not white,” shot and killed 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, who was unarmed at the time, according to his supporters. * Police Chief Chris Burbank said the entire incident was captured on the body camera of the officer who shot Taylor. * “You will see on camera … the actions of everyone involved, including up to the point where our officer utilizes deadly force and his response thereafter,” Burbank told reporters. * He said the video, along with the officer’s identity, will be released at the “appropriate” time, adding it could be days, weeks or months." -- Had this been the situation in Ferguson, mainstream media would have been guilty of inciting a lynch mob to action! Now, I'm willing to wait for the Salt Lake City police to fully investigate and present the facts when the investigation is complete. Apparently, so are most Salt Lake City residents. Respect for the law is necessary..patience with the procedures to insure compliance with the law is necessary.

Comment on above story: - Oh, and by the way, the kid, whether known or unknown at the time by the officer, had a $25,000 bench warrant for a probation violation in connection with felony robbery and obstructing justice convictions, and the officer was answering a 911 call. "Police said officers were responding to a report of a man “waving a gun around.” * When officers arrived, they found three men leaving the convenience store, with one, later identified as Taylor, reportedly matching the description of the person reported in a 9-1-1 call. * Witnesses say Taylor was wearing headphones at the time and may have been trying to pull his pants up when he was gunned down." -- and no looting, no protests broke out.

L-E headline: "Council to choose tunnel or bridge at Buena Vista 'spider web' -- Hmmm I thought the GA DOT determined that going over RRs (as on Veterans and 2nd Ave previously) was its policy of choice. Tunneling will always have a flood risk, and goodness knows the perils it would bring to pedestrians just walking through the neighborhood.

Online headline/story: "Which Company Refuses Business with Israel, But Has 600 Stores in Muslim Countries? * company in particular was caught bragging about their vast partnerships with many Muslim countries in the Middle East, around 600 to be exact. * The coffee chain closed every store in Israel over 11 years ago and has recently issued a statement that they do not support Israel in any way and will not in the future" -- " coffee chain"? If you guessed any name but "Starbucks" please turn in your Breakfast Club membership.

Lest we forget.. pass on to your children.. and your children's teachers....https://www.youtube.com/embed/YaxGNQE5ZLA

Online story: "An increasing number of convicted felons in Georgia have been getting their gun ownership rights reinstated by the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. * The State Board of Pardons and Paroles restored firearms rights for more than 1,400 felons between 2008 and 2013, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday. The board restored gun rights for 666 (whatta ironic number...666) people last year, which is 10 times the number of pardons that restored firearms rights six years ago." -- What a contradictory move by our Board of Pardons and Paroles! Maybe some felons deserve the right to vote restored, but giving back their guns.. no way!
---
Online story: "Rather than take shots at each other, Democratic Rep. John Barrow and the Republican running for his east Georgia congressional seat have rolled out early campaign ads taking aim at the same target: President Barack Obama." -- Yeah.. Democrats will swear up and down they are for the people of GA, but just wait until they get under the Party thumb in Washington.
---
Another shooting on a military base.. Like the Texas situation , the shooter is being called a "disgruntled" individual rather than a terrorist. One other difference is in effect as well. This shooter wass a woman. Wonder what the second level of excuses will be if the public reacts to her being "disgruntled".. why not PMS as an excuse?
---
When is the GOP going to muzzle McCain and Graham? Of course the mainstream media is glad, actually enthusiastic to give them "air time".. if makes mainstream media's purpose to keep liberals on the hook to vote against other Republicans a lot easier
---
Where's Hillewinsky? Where's the Hillsbury DOUGHgirl? Race riots in Missouri, ISIS beheading reporters and Christian children in Iraq/Syria, General getting killed/buried, ongoing illegal alien surge, California earthquake, street crimes in Chicago and NYC escalating, ..chaos all around but no Hillary ... hmmm, wonder why?
---
Maybe there is a swing towards more responsible broadcasting. There was an explosion at a recycling plant, and Fox News actually said it had heard info concerning to cause but was going to wait until it could actually be confirmed.
---
L-E story on Mark Cuban speaking at local leadership forum: " “Everybody has their own style of leadership,” said Cuban, who explained true leaders must be able to communicate with those around them and jump in and get dirty, when necessary, leading by example when necessary. “Legends in their own minds are not great leaders.” -- The GOP should run this as its primary 2014 & 2016 ad with pictures of Obamageddon and Hillsbury DOUGHgirl fading in & out graphically.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Neither the left nor the right has the answers to the problems. The answers lie in the middle and it’s time that both sides move that way. Otherwise, we are destined for failure." -- Wrong... two ways.. First when you "compromise", no one gets what they really want so the matter is not resolved. Secondly, once you compromise what's best, the bar is lowered and is open to be lowered again and again, so nobody ever wins.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Whatever Michael Brown did in the store does not give the police officer the right to murder him. The kid was unarmed. Justice needs to be served." -- Let's backtrack.. what if Michael Brown had not robbed the store? What if.. Michael Brown had simply not struck Officer Wilson. What if.. Michael Brown had simply respected the officer's request to stop?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "As a black male, I am more concerned about getting shot by the police than I am about illegal immigration and terrorists." -- What a sad but telling statement.. it's not about racism at all.. there's just cultural decay.
---
L-E headline: "MISSOURI SHOOTING * SHARPTON CALLS FOR CHANGE AT MICHAEL BROWN’S FUNERAL" -- Well, as great philosophers throughout time have said.. change starts from within... only yiu can change you.. Al. when will we see you change?
---
There are two sides on the issue of Common Core.. one is compromised of those that Common Core puts bread on their table.. the other is concerned about what their children or other people's children are learning in school.
