HuffPost "headlie": "Witness On Michael Brown Shooting: Police 'Showed No
Kind Of Remorse' -- Alleged witness....there's been no verification, no swearing
in, no cross examination. What's basically going on is a mainstream media mob
mentality lynching.
---
Online headline/story: "Obama calls on DOJ, FBI to investigate Ferguson
shooting * President Obama was briefed Wednesday night on the intensifying
situation in Ferguson, Mo., as protests continue to clash with police in
reaction to the fatal shooting an unarmed black teenager." -- Did Obamageddon
say he'd been updated on Tahmooressi's imprisonment, or the cold-blooded
killing of our Border Patrol agent, or the whereabouts of the 5 jihadists he
let out if Gitmo?
---
Online headline: "Leadership vacuum in Washington, DC?" -- Oooops, my bad..
thought this was about Obamageddon calling a Cabinet meeting.
---
Vision... it's a pretty vague word when you think about it. Take Mayor
Obamalinson's infatuation with her "Ending Homelessness in 10 Years" plan and
infatuation with High Speed Trains. Ending homelessness is basically not
possible (though a magnificent goal)... it's sorta like Obamageddon's concept of
setting a deadline to stop shooting and pulling the troops out of countries
we have been militarily committed too. And the "high speed train system"..
especially claiming one that will be first-year-profitable...in reality she will
not balance our budget on known projected revenues so she hasn't the track
record to talk about being profitable; and secondly, if it was remotely
potentially profitable, Warren Buffett would have already be building it (and
could afford to do so). Vision.... NO.... pure FOLLY on both causes..
---
Speaking of Mayor Obamalinson's 'folly' of an immaculate, flawless high
speed ride to Atlanta that most of us won't be around to see, she might gather
public support ...maybe... if she demonstrated her ability to make our everyday
streets pothole free.

Has Obamageddon even considered a "beer summit" with Hamas?
Obamageddon might suggest that if Hamas stopped randomly firing missiles at
Israel, the Israeli's probably would stop firing missiles to destroy their
missiles and from sending retaliatory missiles into the Gaza Strip. Just
wondering...

Local item - Those "Gateways" intersections on our limited access hiways.
They are well maintained and nice ....except when the tractors are left out in
the middle until the next time they are mowed.
---
You know.. Obamageddon and Pric Holder claim that photo voter IDs are
"wrong" because they discriminate against minorities. The truth is that the LACK
of photo voter IDs discriminates against all American citizens.

The fees that are "mandatory" at CSU add up to $18+ MILLION to the local
college costs, yet few, if any, student truly utilizes all the "fee supported"
activities that all pay (well, parents and loans) for. I'm going to group 3
different fees in today's expose.. the "Activity Fee", the "Student Rec Fee",
and the "Technology Fee" as they all seem to overlap. The annual rate for the
three fees is $948.00. All three are basically fees that entwine on-campus
social activities, yet no student has either an "opt in" or "opt out" say-so
concerning any of these fees. In other words, the school is not providing any
activity for free as an inducement to desiring to attend CSU. The most egregious
of the fees is the "Technology Fee". It provides:"support for the student body's
technological needs including software and licenses, hardware and maintenance,
computer labs with printers, upgrades to existing equipment, the help desk and
the computer repair shop. Also provides, to enrolled students, a per semester
500-sheet paper allotment for on-campus printing." -- Hmmm....Lets be honest
about this.. for $237.00 per year ($948.00 for 4-years), the school collects
this fee while in reality, students provide their own notebook computers,
generally have their own dorm/apt printers and supplies, and use their own
software /licensing (and buy classroom books at awful prices). The only real
"technology" provided by CSU is the campus W-Fi, but even most students have
their own smartphones with data plans acccesible via cell or WiFi hot spots, so
the student access to Campus WiFi is basically being charged about $20.00 a
month per student.. With 7,000 students, CSU is basically getting about
$138,000.00 a year for providing WiFi access.
---
Talking about the "mandatory fees", one of my daughters goes to CSU via the
I-net. She takes two courses. She pays, well, I am told I have to pay $900.00
worth of fees per term. No discount for fewer classes , no discount for
attending night school online, no discount for not even using the campus at all.
She's married, works, and is a mother, so what possibilities, what access does
she have to using campus social activities... even if she wanted to do so?

Online story: "Earlier this month, Jimmy Carter, in an article co-written
with former Ireland President Mary Robinson for Foreign Policy, called for Hamas
to be officially recognized. * Jimmy Carter has held a grudge against the Jewish
people since their vote helped Ronald Reagan defeat him for a second term in
office in 1980, according to an editorial in The Washington Times, and that
grudge is showing itself in his support of Hamas terrorists in the Gaza
conflict." -- Good grief.. Carter is just showing typical Democratic Party
strategy.. as long as you cater a voter group's loyalty on one voting issue, the
other issues don't matter if you need to violate those to appease another voter
group's one-issue voting pattern.

Online story: "Georgia’s unemployment rate rose to 7.8 percent in July from
7.4 percent in June, primarily because of seasonal layoffs in education and
manufacturing, the state labor department said Thursday." -- "because of
seasonal layoffs in education and manufacturing"? -- Hey, I agree that seasonal
layoffs are a part of the unemployment number, BUT it's more like the layoff of
primary election voters having completed their job, and are waiting on the
General Elections when they will be "re-hired" to vote.

From a L-E contributor commentary: "Alva James-Johnson: Frighteningly,
Ferguson turmoil could happen here". " -- This is simply mainstream media
"stirring the pot". None of the conditions in Missouri are duplicated here.. for
that matter have no resemblance to our law enforcement structure. Ms
James-Johnson should be chastised for her insinuations. She is contributing to a
mainstream media mob mentality lynching without a trial.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " The system is rigged. The rich are getting richer
and stashing their taxable dollars in offshore tax havens and subsidiaries,
while the middle class pick up their tab." -- Hmmm.. you'd think such a
mastermind as this would realize the problem is liberal government greed.
Confiscatory tax programs have challenged successful people to find ways
to justify their labors. Of course, the solution is just a simple.. fair
taxes...but that doesn't seem "fair" to those that want to be supported by the
fruits of other people's work ethics.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Groups of people, some with cell phones, witnessed
the events leading to the shooting death of a Missouri teen. If someone has
video, they should let the PD see it." -- The problem with "video evidence" is
that it doesn't start until after the cause of the action has happened. It's
sorta like giving an elbow to an opponent in a basketball game. The essence of
an event catches the referee's eye but all the ref sees is the retaliatory
response.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Don’t question a voter’s IQ if you plan to vote for
the same mentality that put our nation in a deep recession and started two wars
that cost over $3 trillion." -- Good grief.. this coming from a voter with an IQ
that believed the current president twice despite his adding $7 TRILLION in
National Debt, and has both those wars more inflamed than they were when he took
office, plus has alienated all our allies.
---
From the "it's hardly fair" department - L-E story story: " The IRS failed
to do background checks on some private contractors who handled confidential
taxpayer information, exposing more than a million taxpayers to an increased
risk of fraud and identity theft, a government investigator said Thursday. * IRS
policy requires contractors with access to confidential taxpayer information to
undergo background checks, though the policy wasn’t always followed, the report
said. About 10,000 private contractors have access to such information. -- Good
grief... is this the same IRS that brings proctologists' gloves to an
audit?

Local issue: A letter published in the Columbus L-E by one Thomas D. Orr
deserves your taking the time to read,, and mull.
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — U.S. auto loans jumped to the highest level in
eight years this spring, fueled by a big increase in lending to risky borrowers,
according to a report Thursday by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. * Yet
the New York Fed also said that loans to borrowers with shoddy credit, also
known as subprime lending, still make up a smaller proportion of total auto
loans than before the Great Recession." -- Good grief.. can we say "bubble"?
This is the definition of insanity personified,, doing the same thing expecting
different results. I guess GM figures it can get another bailout down the road.
