Short version today.. enjoyed spending day in other activities. Capped off a fun day watching bride run in "Country's Midnight Run". Home at 1:30AM EDST

Online story: ""I think the first thing that needs to happen, you need to arrest Officer Wilson. He shot and killed a man, shot him multiple times." Harvard Law School Professor Charles Ogletree told NBC. "No one knows anything about him, no one knows why he did it." * So why hasn't Darren Wilson been arrested? As The Christian Science Monitor points out, not everyone agrees that Wilson should be taken into custody. That divide can even been seen among law professors within the same university. * The Monitor quotes another Harvard law professor who says, "We should not arrest [Officer Darren Wilson] until there's a substantial level of proof of criminality, even if it appeared that the police acted improperly." -- Hmmm, guess which Harvard professor will not pass his next peer review?

Online story: "Microsoft (MSFT) is currently sitting on almost $29.6 billion it would owe in U.S. taxes if it repatriated the $92.9 billion of earnings it is keeping offshore, according to disclosures in the company's most recent annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The amount of money that Microsoft is keeping offshore represents a significant spike from prior years, and the levies the company would owe amount to almost the entire two-year operating budget of the company's home state of Washington" -- Two things.. it really demonstrates the hypocrisy of Bill Gates claim that he (and other super wealthies) just don't pay enough in taxes, and it demonstrates why the US tax code is degtrimental to business and job growth in America.

HuffPost headline: "Neanderthals probably died out earlier than we thought" -- Hmmm, that's sorta contrary to the political doctrine of the HuffPost, the DNC, and Ivy League Academia.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The three leading causes of death are legal: tobacco, obesity and alcohol. Drug abuse is number 10, yet we’ve squandered a trillion dollars in the failed drug war." -- The only money squandered is the amount used to keep this LIV alive. I guess he/she wishes Drug Abuse was #1 on the list.

Columbus Council - City Manager's Agenda:
Street Acceptance, Portion Of Wellington Trace Located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe: Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that portion of Wellington Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe. The Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends the acceptance. -- Hmmm I'd vote for it.. it will be nice to have a street free of potholes to drive on..
