HuFFPOOPOO headline: "Bernie Sanders Shows How Reagan Helped Destroy The Middle Class" --
Bernie Sanders, Socialist Senator from Vermont, presented his opinion of the facts of the economy under Ronald Reagan. As expected, Socialist Sanders was negative of Reagan's opening up of capitalistic free enterprise. Some people benefited more than others says Sanders. Excuse me, Senator Sanders, but "some people" worked harder than others and created jobs for others than didn't work as hard or take the financial risks to be successful in their businesses.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Kim & Kanye Are Pretty Much Besties With President Obama" -- Good grief.. Obamageddon has time to meet with K(_*_)nye West, and thank him for his support, but won't meet with Benjamin Netanyahu unless he gets re-elected in March....
---
I heard that the fines the NFL imposes (and I "feel" it probably applies to other sports as well) are TAX DEDUCTIBLE as "business expenses".. Good grief.. then we all should get tax deductions for parking tickets we got double-parking for the few minutes it takes to deliver a package to a customer!
---
Random thought: Why is it that neither our Department of State nor White House will put "labels" on Islamist terrorists, but the personnel at IRS can put "labels" on patriots and patriotic groups?
---
Online story: " Welfare money or food stamps for marijuana? It's an urban legend that won't go away in Colorado, and state lawmakers this year are poised to pass a law clarifying that public benefit cards can't be used at dispensary ATMs. * A bill facing its first hearing next week in the state Senate would add marijuana businesses and strip clubs to the list of Colorado businesses where electronic benefits cards - called EBTs - can't be used to withdraw cash. Liquor stores, casinos and gun shops already have such limitations." -- Good grief.. passing another law with "more specifics" is not the answer to this problem.. The law Colorado, every state for that matter, needs to pass is one that requires ATMs in places that serve/sell alcoholic beverages, guns or marijuana, be confiscated at the point-of-use and the holder be denied future entitlements. The same consequence should be in effect at grocery stores when an EBT holder presents the card and alcoholic beverages have been rung up.

Online quote source: "“Success is not a destination, but the road that you're on. Being successful means that you're working hard and walking your walk every day. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. That's living your dream.” - Marlon Wayans " -- In short, just do the reverse of anything Obamageddon, Al Sharlatan, Jesse Jackson, or Charlie Rangel says.
---
Online headline: "3 Colorado tax cheats skip sentencing to play golf" -- Ooops, by bad.. thought Obamageddon was playing golf with Geithner, Sharpton, and Rangel.
---
Online story: "The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said Friday that 1,000 of the more than 36,000 "criminal aliens" released by federal immigration authorities in 2013 have been convicted of new crimes. * The list of crimes included assault with a deadly weapon, terrorist threats, failure to register as a sex offender, lewd acts with a child under 14 and spousal rape by force. * “The Obama administration claims that it is using ‘prosecutorial discretion’ to prioritize the removal of criminal aliens from this country" -- You know.. some liberals will point out that 1,000 out of 36,000 is a "small amount of recidivism.. BUT this is not about recidivism.. it's about previously convicted illegal aliens being convicted of another crime.. not just arrested or held, but CONVICTED again, and that is unacceptable.
---
Online story: "Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber on Friday deflected mounting ethics questions swirling around him and fiancee Cylvia Hayes over newly disclosed, six-figure consulting payments she received from a clean energy group -- while she was advising the governor on similar issues." -- Oh, is that what Democrats call "high maintenance" outlays.. consulting payments..
---
Online headline/story: "Owner of Arkansas Shooting Range Bans Muslims…And Five Months Later Her Business is Booming * In September, Arkansas gun range owner Jan Morgan declared her business to be a “Muslim-free zone.” At the time, there was controversy and a thought that she could be sued for violating anti-discrimination laws. * Another possible reason that would likely play a role in her legal defense, should she be sued, is, Morgan said: “I have a federal firearms license… The ATF informed us when we received the license that if we feel ANY reason for concern about selling someone a firearm, even sense that something is not right about an individual, or if we are concerned about that person’s mental state, even if they pass a background check, we do not have to sell that person a gun. * Two different ATF agents stressed that it is better to err on the side of caution." * In addition to Muslims, Morgan added that she does not allow Nazis and Ku Klux Klan members to use her business facilities." -- Heh heh heh.. Wow! A documented case of the DOJ being hoisted by its own "retard".
---
L-E story: " A group of public officials asked grassroots activists on Friday to get behind a plan that would help reduce overcrowding at the Muscogee County Jail." -- Hmmm.. you know, there's a simpler and cheaper way to reduce overcrowding in jails.. make any crime of violence punishable by death and carry out the sentence within 2 years.
---
L-E headline: " Man impersonating officer said badge found in trash" -- You know..don't badges have a number, and registered/dispensed to a specific officer?
---
Jonathan Gruber EXTRA-stupid L-E "soundoff": " A gun won’t tell me an intruder’s outside, but my dog will. A gun won’t dial 911, but my alarm will. A gun won’t guarantee it’ll never shoot me, but not having a gun will." -- Hey, why not post a "No Gun Zone" sign in your yard so robbers/burglars won't have to worry when they break in?
---
Random thought: How can the old L-E building can be renovated, but old school buildings have to be razed and replaced?
---
There was a "cute" picture in the L-E today with a kid skipping rocks from Rock Island in the Whitewater rafting course. Boy... isn't that a sight rafters would love not to be seen as they approach...
---
Is it my imagination or are we having a tsunami of "second time convictions" within 5 years of the first for DUI? There were 9 today.. wonder how many first timers there were who don't get their pictures posted in the L-E?
---
You know.. the MCSD Board/System is trying to ram $192,000,000.00 in taxes to fund what's basically a "slush fund" because not details of specific projects are being released. It's sort of like a campaign based on "you shouldn't worry yourself with details.. just trust us to figure it out as we go.. Just vote yes" . I don't know about everyone, but when politicians ask me to "just trust'em" a red flag goes up. Besides, who put this list/package together.. former Super Andrews, interim Super Phillips, or not-quite-up-to-speed Super Lewis?
---
Online quote source: " “Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” - Jim Rohn" -- Hmmm.. bet this not on the walls of the Department of Education or the Board room of the MCSD.
---
You know.. there was an ad for an "eminent domain" proceeding in which the GA DOT is confiscating private property from an individual who owns said property on Talbotton Road. I assume it's for "the public good" to improve conditions there. Now,, why wasn't this done when to property near the 13th and 14th Street bridges at the RiverWalk. Instead, Mayor TomLYINGson and Council approved a purchase with our local tax dollars plus giving up other "green" plots in downtown.
---
L-E headline: "N.Y. board suggests $7.50 wage for tipped workers" -- Hmmm.. in that case, I will have no problem in not leaving a tip for minimum service.
---
You know..if the SPLOST project list was above board, and the MCSD Board was open with the taxpayers, there would be no need to try to slip it by the taxpayers or enlist outside help in getting taxpayers to support it. The MCSD's actions to date have brought more suspicions rather than enlightenment or unity.
---
Rumor or fact? Scuttlebutt says that despite the new money asked for in the SPLOST us for a new Spencer High School, there will be a merger/consolidation of Spencer and Kendrick. Time will tell. What I do understand is that the MCSD says a new Spencer will be built on property already owned by the school system. That being so, why won't the school system tell us where it is going to build a new high school. There can be no legitimate reason for not doing so.
---
Earlier this week, I sent in an Open Records request to the MCSD for a breakdown of all the individual projects that make of the total SPLOST request. Yesterday, I received a basic slide-show file of "you're not smart enough to understand" pictures of what other schools have in sports facilities compared to what ours have become because there is no ongoing maintenance program.
Today I have request the specifics of one item... the request for $34,000,000.00 worth of system wide technology & infrastructure upgrades.
Ms. Fuller -
I would like the following information:
1 - Specific text-form breakdown of projects to be done on item 2 (District-wide technology and infrastructure upgrades: $34,000,000) as presented in the 2015 SPLOST proposal.
Hal A. Kirven
706-888-0304
31904
Will let you know what I get.
I will also be requesting an actual proposed projects list for the other generalized items.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obama tells Congress: Show me the moneyNews AOLPointing to a stronger economy as a sign it's time to spend more, not less, the White House called for big spending increases on Thursday." -- Good grief.. what a lack of leadership demonstration supported by a lack of intelligence mainstream media. Hmmm.. I'd almost bet that Obamageddon was the author of the MCSD SPLOST projects list... just throw as much crap against the wall as you can, and see what sticks.

---
After looking at the list of items presented by the MCSD for SPLOST projects, and the MCSD's lack of desire to publish specifics so all voters know what they include, I think a forensic audit should be made on the proposals before they are voted on.

---
It's abundantly clear that the MCSD Board chairman and Superintendent are using selective protocol to avoid discussion and debate of the SPLOST with Frank Myer, as there's no hesitation for the Superintendent to go rally voter support from the local teacher's organization.

---
Speculation is that Hillewinsky has agreed to reappear at a Congressional committee meeting on Benghazi to "clear her name"... excuse me, but there aren't enough committee meetings , even committee meeting subjects, that could clear her name...besides, paraphrasing her own words, " what difference will it make?"

---
Let's analyze why Hillewinsky is going back to Congress to discuss Benghazi...my guess is that the far left money has dried up for her, and she's trying to tap into moderate/centrist sources who still have some patriotism left.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Huckabee Insults Entire Female Population of New York City" -- Good grief, Huckabee, sometimes the truth is best unsaid.. times like this is when you show whether you're a "gentleman" or not. At least no one has called it a racist statement................ yet.

---
Even with subsidies for the premiums,, those who are getting OObamaCRAP them still have to come up with the deductibles before their insurance kicks in.

---
Online story: "The Senate passed legislation Thursday approving the Keystone XL oil pipeline, setting up a looming veto showdown with the White House." -- Hmmmm...with his track record of lying, don't you imagine Josh Earnest is lying now about Obamageddon vetoing the Keystone XL Pipeline? On the other hand, if Obamageddon is lying to begin with, and Josh Earnest repeats the lie, then do two left lies make a right turn?

---
Online story: "An Islamic women’s ‘advocacy group’ is DEMANDING a county in Minnesota change its food stamp policies to require a low-price, halal food shelf." -- Good grief... the program is about emergency food for those in dire needs. If "halal foods" are in short supply.. tough,, it seems Muslim gratitude is even in more short supply.

---
Where's Bergdahl? Hmmm, wonder since Obamageddon is releasing his friends at Gitmo, and sending them back, do you wonder if Obamageddon will send Bergdahl back to be with his friends?

---
The White House's command not to support a Netanyahu visit until after mid March is so transparent. Obamageddon has sent one of his 2012 campaign field directors over to Israel to try and defeat Netanyahu in the March 17th elections there.

---
I heard a news anchor refer to Israel as our "closest" ally in the Mid-East. Huh? Israel is our ONLY ally in the Mid-East!

---
In this day of escalating..nah.. soaring healthcare costs..you'd think businesses would be more conscious of acting like they had their patients concerns in mind, but I saw a car with "Spring Harbor at Green Island' on its door riding down River Road. No ordinary service vehicle was this...it was a 4-door Cadillac CTS
I don't mind a healthcare executive spending their money on the car they can afford, but it seems, no. looks mighty insensitive to ride around in a luxury one with the business name on the side.

---
Yesterday. I called attention to www.blackpeoplemeet.com ... can you imagine the mainstream media and Al Sharlatan's frenzy if www.whitepeoplemeet.com was announced? I guess the old term.. "separate but equal" is fashionable on the other side of the coin.

---
Online story: "Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, who obtained his extreme wealth using the freedom gifted to him through America’s unique free enterprise system, is now calling for a command and control one world government, giving up United States’ sovereignty at the altar of the global warming religion." -- Hmmm.. you know.. there is one area that might benefit from "one worldness".. technology.. I can easily see Microsoft thriving better under Apple management..
---
L-E headline: "2012 FATAL CRASH * PROSECUTOR SEEKS PHONE RECORDS IN GILMER CASE" -- Good grief! It's been 21/2 years and now the DA's office is seeking the phone records? What are they actually doing there?
---
L-E headline: "Sam Wellborn, Bennie Newroth to co-chair SPLOST campaign committee" -- Excuse me.. I like Sam Wellborn.. always have, but is someone connected to both the banking community that will benefit $4,000,000.00 from the SPLOST, and the GA DOT which has a project going on at Whittlesey Road that's running 6+ months longer than planned and having a cost overrun of $1,000,000.00+ the right person to put out in front of a huge tax issue?
---
L-E headline: "Companies aim not to offend in Super Bowl ads" -- Good grief.. this could be the most boring Super Bowl ever! Humor is the key to memorable advertising, and political correctness is void of humor.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Myers, Thomas, and concerned citizens: To find out how school district money is spent, simply go online and view the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. It’s the audited financial statements presented and explained every way imaginable" -- Good grief.. that's basically a
checking account balance report" and has zero accountability as to whether it was spent properly.
---
L-E story: "HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Texas has executed a man who was convicted of strangling a woman and beating her with a hammer before setting her body on fire two decades ago. * Robert Ladd received a lethal injection Thursday after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected arguments that he was mentally impaired and ineligible for the death penalty. * The 57-year-old Ladd was on parole after pleading guilty years earlier to a triple slaying in Dallas when he was arrested for the 1996 killing of 38-year-old Vicki Ann Garner at her apartment in Tyler in East Texas." -- Good grief.. how does anyone, regardless of metal capacity, get paroled following the conviction of a triple slaying? The citizens of Texas need to sue the judge who gave the killer a sentence that even made parole a possibility!
---
Following the snow storm that hit Boston this week, a man went out and cleared the Boston Marathon "Finish" line. Kudos! Of course, it would have been a lot appropriate if he'd taken Bomber Brother 2 and used his body to mop up the snow.
---
L-E headline: "The Columbus metro area unemployment rate showed little movement in December, coming in at 7.2 percent, just a tenth of a percent improved from November’s 7.3 percent." -- You know.. unemployment rates based on the number of people actually looking for work is not a very accurate measure. The unemployment rate should be determined by the number of people capable of work who aren't and subsist on public entitlement programs.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obama Wants To End The Era Of Sequestration" -- Hmmm.. that would be a first.. to finish something he started...
---
www.blackpeoplemeet.com ..   hmmm..obviously...Martin Luther King's dream does not matter..
---
Online story: "President Obama has touted job growth under his administration during much of his presidency. In his recent State of the Union address, he talked about the 11 million jobs that have been created over the last six years. While it should be noted that Obama’s claim is inflated because it doesn’t consider the net job loss endured during his first year in office, let’s take a look at “the rest of the story.” * As researched and reported by the American Enterprise Institute, 100% of net job growth in America over the last eight years is attributable to Texas alone * It’s a pretty impressive story of how job creation in just one state – Texas – is solely responsible for the 1.169 million net increase in total US employment (+1,444,290 Texas jobs minus the 275,290 non-Texas job loss) in the seven year period between the start of the Great Recession in December 2007 and December 2014. * The other 49 states and the District of Columbia together employ about 275,000 fewer Americans than at the start of the recession seven years ago, while the Lone Star State has added more than 1.25 million payroll jobs and more than 190,000 non-payroll jobs (primarily self-employed and farm workers)." -- Hmmm, it appears that Obamageddon's spinmeisters are minor leaguers in lying compared to their master.
---
I hope the confirmation hearing on Lynch for the next Atty General are over by today. Getting Holder out as soon as possible is more urgent than any flaws the Republicans could unearth about Lynch. Getting Holder out is the priority..there's nothing worse for our country than a rogue AG as a lame duck.
---
Question...why haven't Islamic groups/countries stepped forward and supported the military effort to eradicate the radical Islamic groups?
---
Before our GA Governor/Legislature continues looking for ways to raise gasoline taxes to pay for transportation projects, there needs to be a forensic audit done on all GA DOT projects started and finished in the last 4 years? We have a great ongoing example of "need" right here in River City.. the Whittlesey Road widening between Whitesville Rd and Veterans Parkway.. Not long ago, "we" were informed "we would have to endure the inconvenience an extra 6 months and cough up an extra Million plus dollars before it will be finished. Why does the GA DOT even put out jobs for bids when the winner is not responsible for finishing a job on time or on budget?
---
WTVM9 story: "A convicted murderer who lawyers claimed was intellectually disabled has been put to death at a prison in Jackson Georgia. * On the streets of Columbus, demonstrators held a vigil to protest the death of Warren Lee Hill. Hill was executed by lethal injection Tuesday, January 27 at 7:55 PM. He was convicted of murdering a fellow prisoner in 1990. This is his 2nd murder conviction. * The vigil was organized by the Columbus NAACP and held at the organization's headquarters on 1st Avenue." -- The NAACP of Columbus should have its feet held to the fire.. did we hear of an alternative plan that the NAACP would be willing to take responsibility of housing and securing Hill? No! Hell, no! Just because a lawyer makes a claim of "intellectually disabled: doesn't mean that it's true. The man was convicted of killing a woman in 1985 and killing a fellow prisoner in 1990. It's been 30 years since Hill's first murder, and not executing him then caused the death of another person in 1990. For 25 years, "we" have footed the bill for his day-to=-day existence and funds for the lawyers that could have been spent on educating our children. Hey, NAACP, get a life you can be proud of!
---
L-E headline: "Superintendent, chairman respond to board member's SPLOST debate challenge" -- Frank Myer's challenge reveals the MCSD Board's desire to ram this SPLOST through without the voters knowing that most of what's in it are illegal maintenance projects under the GA laws governing SPLOST revenue usages. This has been demonstrated by the MCSD by its lack of information as to how much money will be spent where in its proposal. In my experiences, you can not get a bottom line figure unless you have a list of numbers to add up.. as it is, it seems that several items have figures pulled out of thin air..As an example, look at Item 2 on the list the MCSD published: "District-wide technology and infrastructure upgrades*: $34,000.000". You know not one indication is revealed as to what will be done where. To top it off.. how many lists of projects that you ever compiled come up to a convenient rounded-off, even figure. To top that, I have filed an information request via the MCSD website under the GA Freedom of Information Act as well as a direct e-mail and have gotten no response.. not even an acknowledgement that they received them and are working on getting this info.
"*infrastructure upgardes" -- hmmm a $5.00 phrase for "maintenance"
---
How can the school system come up with budgets for projects, yet not be willing to show us what the money will actually be spent on?
---
How come a judge in Texas say former Governor Perry cannot throw out veto threats, yet the same judge has said nothing about Obamageddon throwing out veto threats?
---
Random question.. Remember when the IRS went after Willie Nelson for back taxes? IRS tore Willie "a new one"... now, where is the IRS on Al Sharpton?
---
L-E headline: "SOA protesters face charges in court today" -- Good grief.. if the L-E stopped running stories.. stopped covering the SOA, the SOA would just go away...
---
L-E "fractured headline: "California: e-cigarettes a health threat" -- Hmm.. how about "E-cigarettes: California a health and wealth threat"
---
L-E editorial headline: "Pools contractor performance has been appalling" -- Good grief..Council nor P&R could make a break even budget that was acceptable do what did Council expect from a 3rd party..that they would run it at a loss and be happy?
---
L-E story: "During last week’s Muscogee County School Board meeting, superintendent David Lewis said, “One of the things that I feel like is important is for adults to model the behavior we want from our students. ”
“A lot of people talk the talk,” Lewis said, “but she walked the talk.” She sure did. (Julia) Brown donated $500 to reward the MCSD school with the largest percentage of its staff having voted in the general election. Lewis notified the schools of the MCSD Election Challenge in November. * Then at last week’s meeting, he presented the $500 check to Clara Davis, principal of Britt David Magnet Academy, which won the contest with 94 percent of its staff exercising its right to vote" -- You know.. it's more than clear why the MCSD schedules SPLOST elections as far away from any general election date it can.. It gfigures it will get a high turn out of teachers, past teachers and their friends and family to vote for it regardless. This is not good for the community, though. The MCSD should try to embrace the community by having open discussions about needs and present them so that if a TAX passes, it has a wide community support versus the vote of only a small smattering of Columbusites.
---
Just for the record, the Atlanta Hawks have won 17 straight NBA basketball games.. impressive at any level. Of course, I'll probably bet that the Hawks have a Braves/Falcon-type finish..
---
Hmm.. so Carnival Cruise is going to have a SuperBowl ad.. with its luck, some unknown virus will hit the stadium, and the players will have to be carted off at halftime.

HuffPOOPOO headline: " Forecasters Apologize After Blizzard Misses NYC" -- Good grief.. in a science that's about as predictable as politics, who are these people who think they know what God intends?
---
Online headline: "Obama will not meet Netanyahu in March visit " -- Obamageddon snubbed the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz this week, and is planning to snub Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.. why does the Jewish population of America still support the Democratic Party. I'd really like to know.
---
Online headline/story: "The Obama campaign strategist who could break the Israeli elections wide open *
The group V-2015 is working with U.S. political strategist Jeremy Bird to replace the government in March. * Their mission is to oppose the Likud party in the March 17th election." -- Jeremy Bird is basically a "paid assassin" to knock Netanyahu out. Obamageddon will not meet with Netanyahu before the March 17 election.. Netanyahu is a member of the Likud party.. Jeremy Bird was Obamageddon's 2012 campaign field director. I repeat.. why does the American Jewish population still support the Democratic Party/
---
Online headline/story: "Judge refuses to toss Perry case on constitutional grounds * Former Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted in August on charges of abuse of official power and coercion of a public servant. He is accused of publicly threatening - then making good on - a 2013 veto of $7.5 million in state funding last year for a public corruption division within the office of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg. That came after Lehmberg, a Democrat, refused to resign following a conviction and jail time for drunken driving." -- Hmmm sounds like another aspect of drunkenness.. like a case of a judge drunk with power.....
---
Online story: "In a piece published in the Atlanta Blackstar, the so-called “Black BuzzFeed,” the article states that there are six words that no white person should ever use because they are “synonymous” with the “N” word. * These are the six words/phrases: Thug, Urban/Inner City, State's Rights, Welfare and Food Stamps, Law and Order, Cut Taxes" -- Good grief!... is there anything that can be said to a liberal to get a conversation started about solving any problem? Oh! if this is a list that blacks/libs feel are substitutes for the "N" word, then what are the words "jobs" and "work" substitutes for?
---
Did you catch it? Last week, in an interview with a green-lipped YouTuber, Obamageddon described homosexuality as a " lifestyle choice "... "lifestyle choice"? Where is the backlash from the LGBTG world that has fought so hard to get Obamageddon to acknowledge they are "born" that way?
---
Public education is out to dumb down our children.. teachers in private Early Learning Centers are no longer allowed to use teach children in groups, nor use "flash cards" to expand their knowledge of words and numbers. Now, only 1-on-1 teaching methods are allowable.. that means a teacher in the ELC's must pay attention to one student at a time while the other 5 get no attention (Usual 1-to-6 ratio). What it amounts to is that teaching time is effectively cut to one hour versus 6 hours for our young children. Effectively, premier private Early Learning Centers are to become nothing more than day-care-centers.
---
L-E headline: "Volunteers hit the streets to count Columbus' homeless population" -- Guess this is an acid test on how Mayor TomLYINGson's Committee to End Homelessness in Columbus in 10 years" is doing. 4 or so years into it.
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Hopefully God will soon approve gender equality so either sex can conceive and carry a fetus to birth. Then all including rednecks will support marriage equality." -- Good grief.. now the LGBs wanna tell God how to run His world. If God wanted us to be asexual, He would have created us asexual, and the LGB's would be without a cause. BUT, since He hasn't made a mid-course evolutionary modification,...guess He's proud of His original plan.
---
FTR: There is a movement to organize a "No SPLOST" ad campaign at the present time.. as soon as I get a working address, I will publish it so any who agree can send a contribution to the cause. Chatter is that about $24,000.00 can mount a good effective campaign. I'm going to send them a check, and I hope all of you will also.. Even$20.00, hopefully higher, contributions will aid the cause. Make it happen!

L-E story:
"PROPOSED PHENIX CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 2015-16 CALENDAR
• Aug. 3: First day of work for teachers
• Aug. 10: First day of classes for students
• Sept. 7: Labor Day holiday
• Nov. 11: Veterans Day holiday
• Nov. 23-27: Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 21-Jan. 6: Winter break (teachers return to work Jan. 6; students return to classes Jan. 7)
• Jan. 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday
• Feb. 15: Presidents Day holiday
• March 21-25: Spring break
• May 25: Last day of classes for students
Good grief.. Do you notice that every holiday but one is called for what it is... Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Matin Luther King, Jr., President's , and even Spring Break.. but not the Christmas holiday break.. I wonder if educators and politicians really believe that if they don't call it Christmas, then the children won't know?

Online story: " Three Russian citizens were charged Monday in connection with a Cold War-style Russian spy ring that tried to recruit New York City residents as intelligence sources, authorities said." -- Talk about an oxymoron.. why was Russia looking for intelligent recruits in the city that voted for Cuomo, de Bl(_*_)io, Hillewinsky, and for Democrats in the last 7 presidential races?
---
Online headline: "Drone crashes at White House" -- Ooops my bad.. thought may Josh Earnest had collapsed in the Press Room.

Online headline: "Parents in France came up with an unusual moniker for their baby -- but a judge ruled against it, saying the kid would risk being mocked." -- Oooops, my bad.. thought it was going to be Obama.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Looks Like The NFL Will Try To Pin 'Deflategate' On A Locker Room Attendant" -- Good grief...the NFL has found its "Rusty Calley"..the guy at the bottom rung of the ladder, who doesn't speak unless spoken to.....
---
Online headline: "The Justice Department has acknowledged constructing a database to track the movements of millions of vehicles across the U.S. in real time. " -- Oh! that's that's why Pric Holder wants to give illegal aliens driver's licence's.. so he can find them after they sneak across the border and buy a car.. yeah.. right.
---
Online headline: "Marietta councilman wants to increase salaries of elected officials" -- Hmmm... bet he wants to increase taxes, too, to pay for them.
---
You know.. "we" voted in a T-SPLOST to take care of transportation needs in the area, but all we've seen are "frill" projects like the RoverWalk $244K bathroom.. well, what good is a $244K bathroom if you can't get there because of the potholes you encounter on the roads that lead there?
---
Random thought: "The 1% SPLOST taxes takes $192,000,000.00 out of our pockets over 5 years. That's collected by retailers which use computer register calculations to figure it out. For that, retailers submit a check/electronic transfer once a month, and keep .3% of that as a collection fee. If you haven't figured that out, retailers are getting paid $$5,700,000.00 to process sales taxes. Couple that with banks getting $4,000,000.00 for processing bonds on the SPLOST, and the school SPLOST is short nearly $10,000,000.00 for doing what they claim it's for. This is a bad deal all around.
---
Though I haven't gotten word back from our Atlanta delegates, I have learned that although the legislature set rules and regulations for SPLOST revenues, apparently there's no follow through about checking whether SPLOST project requests fulfill the requirements. We are going to have to ask for the school board to release the specifics of those requests.
---
Also, You can request the 2015 SPLOST specifics from the MCSD under the GA Open Records act by e-mail:
Include info you want, your name, your e-mail address, and your number.

Just got news from Hank Johnson, D-GA4, about his committee assignments. He's been named to the "House Judiciary Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law" and the "Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet". Remember Hank Johnson.. the guy that thought the island of Guam would tip over and sink if we moved more military equipment there? Thank God he's a Democrat and will be useless on any committee.. especially one monitoring "intellectual properties".

Online story: "Today, heads of state from around the world will gather for a 70th anniversary ceremony commemorating the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. More than 1.1 million individuals, the majority of whom were Jews, were killed at Auschwitz by Hitler’s Nazis. One world leader, however, will be missing – Barack Obama. * Rather than attending the ceremony himself or even sending his vice-president, Joe Biden, Obama is instead sending Treasury Secretary Jack Lew to represent the United States" -- Well, at least he didn't send Imam Mohamed Magid – Obama’s Sharia Czar, Islamic Society of North America.
---
Online headline: "Sheriff urges New Yorkers: 'Throw gun renewals in garbage' -- OK.. then how about legal owners of guns just ignoring the 2008 "SAFE Act", and just don't bother to upload the info.. that'll put them on equal footing with the criminals who own guns...

Yesterday morning was one of those dictionary perfect weather descriptions.."blustery".

From the "did you know" department: There's a provision in O.C.G.A 48-8-141 that provides that a "commissioner" to administer and collect the SPLOST tax and take a "1% administrative fee".. 1% is $1,920,000.00 ! As some unnamed prospector would say as the Lone Ranger rode off, "Who is that masked man?"
---
Online story: "Gainesville attorney and former Hall County Commissioner Ashley Bell has been elected General Counsel by the National League of Cities (NCL) Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials." -- Hey, Pric Holder,, when are you going to arrest these folks for racial profiling!
---
Online quote source: " “No matter how good you think you are as a leader, my goodness, the people around you will have all kinds of ideas for how you can get better. So for me, the most fundamental thing about leadership is to have the humility to continue to get feedback and to try to get better - because your job is to try to help everybody else get better.” - Jim Yong Kim " -- Bet this is not being taught by professors at Columbia or Harvard Law..is it, Obamageddon?

L-E headline: "City to ask council to cancel Aquatic Center's management contract: -- Good grief... Council could not find a way to operate the aquatic center on a break-even basis to begin with, and expected a third party to operate it profitably without bending/breaking a few rules/laws? Gimmee a break.. this just demonstrates how inept our City government can be.. next election, just vote for the candidates running for re-election only if they voted against farming out the aquatic center operations.

Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Gov. Bentley needs “a health care system that is accessible and affordable.” Answer: Duh … Obamacare." -- "Duh"? Has thos idiot even ;looked at the rates for OObamaCRAP? When you pay $6-$800.. a month and have a $5-$6,000.00 dollar deductible for for services (each person on the policy) it means you will pay$7,200-$9,600.00 in premiums plus the first $5-$6,000.00 before your insurance even kicks in.. in effect, you pay $12,200-$15,600.00 before the insance companies pay a dime...
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff: "Every 50 minutes an elephant is killed for its ivory tusks which finance warlords. 30,000 will be killed this year and none will be left in 10 years." -- Good grief.. even when libs try to pass on meaningful info, they still make up numbers and lie.. Sure, it is tragic that these beautiful beasts are slaughtered for their tusks, and it is a problem that needs to be addressed, BUT the actual truth, according to real info is "Researchers believe that since 2010 an average of nearly 35,000 elephants have been killed annually on the continent. * They warn that if the rate of poaching continues, the animals could be wiped out in 100 years." What we have is a typical "Chicken Little Liberal" running around with it's head chopped off.. wonder when Algore will take up the cause?
---
L-E story: "Muscogee Democrats will hold their first monthly Social Club of the New Year Monday, Feb. 2 at Caffee Amici on Airport Thruway, 6-8 p.m. There will be a cash bar, appetizers and/ or dinner. Welcome to new and old members. Call Judy Brouillette at 706-571-6234 for more details." -- Heh heh heh.. hope somebody is videoing for YouTube when the owner tries to find out who is picking up the bill?
---
Congressman Bishop's letter in the L-E defending his "FOR" vote on the House Keystone XL Pipeline bill just demonstrates how pathetic Democrat voters are. What are they afraid of.. that jobs will be created and they will have to get one?
---
L-E story: "The U.S. Supreme Court vacated a ruling by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that had upheld the Alabama prison system’s policy against long hair. The Supreme Court sent the case back to the 11th Circuit and told the appeals court to reconsider the case in light of a Supreme Court ruling last week. That ruling said Arkansas couldn’t deny a Muslim prisoner’s request to grow a half-inch beard in accordance with his religious belief." -- Good grief.. why does any prisoner get any rights.. civil or religious, as the prisoner is incarcerated, to begin with, for violating someone else's rights and his/her on religious laws?

Online story: "During a visit to view India's Republic Day parade, Obama spent an entire two hours on an outdoor viewing platform, " --Hey, it's Monday.. the golf courses were closed.
---
Online story: "Obama and Modi heralded progress on defense and climate change, as well as breakthroughs on an impasse over implementing a landmark civil nuclear deal their countries agreed to in 2008." -- Hmmm..2008? Hey.. Bush 43 was president! Can't the mainstream media say anything nice about Bush43?
---
Online headline: "Obama, Modi declare era of 'new trust' in US-India relations" -- Huh? Are there no TVs in India? Has Modi never seen an Obamageddon speech or Josh Earnest doing damage control trying to explain it later?
---
Online story: " Northeast residents are girding for a "crippling and potentially historic" storm that could bury communities from northern New Jersey to southern Maine in up to 2 feet of snow." -- Hmm and when the temperature gets back above freezing, the Global Warming folks will be chiming in..

Something seems amiss... where's Algore? I remember when no report by mainstream media on weather didn't have a comment by Algore.

HuffPOOPOO headline:"Kanye West reveals why he never smiles" -- Dang.. I guessed Kim..

L-E editorial comment about the tax freeze: " Hard-working homeowners should have some kind of protection from property taxes rising faster than their incomes can keep up with." -- Good grief.. that's exactly why the freeze was voted in, and revoted in, and revoted in again!
---
Additional comment about the L-E editorial above: "The L-E shouldn't be making judgments about tax fairness when it sold its building to an organization which is exempt from paying taxes.

Speaking of forensic audits. how much quicker would Tony Adams and his P&R cronies been "outed" from the Nike Bb scam if the City did one?
---
Tidbit: The current National Debt at the moment I am typing this is $18.1 TRILLION. What was it when Obamageddon took office...$10.8 TRILLION? Hey, middle class friends of mine.. how do you like the $7.3 TRILLION "gift of debt" the Democrats have given our children and grandchildren in the past 6 years?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today: “My experience of the world is that things left to themselves don’t get right.” — T.H. Huxley, English biologist and author (1825-1895)." -- Hmmm.. wonder what Huxley would say about how things go when left to liberals? Hmm, actually.. I don't wonder.. Huxley was a smart man, too.
---
L-E headline/story: "Obama proposes designating Alaska refuge a wilderness * In a White House video released Sunday, Obama said he is seeking the designation “so we can make sure that this amazing wonder is preserved for future generations.” -- "preserved for future generations"? You know.. the first oil well in America was drilled in Pennsylvania in 1859.. I'd say Pennsylvania's past generations have survived OK. What the White House is doing,, is saying... is that "hey libs, don't abandon me" .... This sorta reminds me of Clinton shutting down the best coal producing area of Utah to appease the same libs..
---
From the L-E's "Looking back | Fifty years ago today, January 26, 1965" feature (slightly redacted): "A Jordan High School junior..... and two young Americus friends died in the crash of a light private aircraft here early today * *****, who was piloting the two-place plane, had reportedly taken off in dense fog for a brief “joy ride’ over the city." -- You know.. 50 years ago, families would grieve,, second guesses would prevail, and hopefully a "life lesson" would help others.. If it happened to today, a whole slew of lawyers would be filing suit against the plane maker for building a cabin for two with enough room for a third person to scrunch into.
---
L-E's "Online comment of the day": “I read most of the article. Our district already does audits quite frequently. Lewis makes the findings available for the public. People just need to take the time to read them.” -- Good grief.. obvious a school system minion.. "audits" currently done are little more than balancing the check book, and the "commeter" summed up the perils when he/she said "I read most of the article". Reading most of an article is similar to reading most of a check balancing "audit".. you miss the point.

I'm curious..why aren't American citizens, here or abroad, who pick up arms, join terrorist cells, or carry out/physically support terrorist acts against any other American citizen stripped of their American citizenship as a result of an act of treason?
---
Do you think Michael Moore has said anything about the jihadist cowardice regarding the decapitations of children that perhaps has been muffled by mainstream media?
---
Online headline: "McDonald's U.S. sales drop for fifth consecutive quarter" -- Two things to parse here..1 - minimum wage jobs..fewer... company will move to more automated solutions. 2 - market focus.. McD's has lost it's focus on what it did to get to the top.. McD's has abandoned going after families.. being the place kids scream for their parents to stop and get food. Now McD's seems it wants to be "grown up" and an alternative to Starbucks. McD's will not shake the image it created, so it might as well try to get that image back.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: Supreme Court To Take Up Use Of Lethal Injection" -- Hmmm, can we vote on the first 3 or 4 to try it out on?

---
Online story: "Saying his team "followed every rule to the letter," New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick described in detail how his team prepares its footballs on game day and defended his players from chatter that they made it to the Super Bowl by cheating." -- Hmmm..."followed every rule to the letter" is not the same as following every rule to "it's intent". What Belichick really said is "we've gotten away with bending the rule as far as we can".
---
Hey, Pric Holder... when are you going to arrest UVA President Teresa Sullivan for profiling every fraternity on campus?

Looking at the totals of the Fiscal (End June 30,2014) MCSD Year, we see that the school system received $348,500,000.00 dollars in Governmental funds (Read: TAXES). That's from yours and my pockets. That's over $10,880.00 per student. Other than Brookstone, no Columbus area private school tuition is anywhere near that per student. What do they do with the money, and why can't the school administrators and MCSD keep the facilities in decent condition. How can anyone (not directly involved) be against a much needed forensic audit
---
In 1990, with 32,000 students in the system.. the MCSD had 5,000 total employees..2,000 of those were teachers/administrators and 3,000 support staff. 2 years ago (can't get more recent info).. again there were 32,000 students but employee growth went to 6,000+ .. with 3,800 teachers/administrators and about 2,200 support staff. Using a colloquial analogy, it's not hard to see that we have too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Our students' progress is hampered by the levels of red tape that have to be dealt with in getting help into the classrooms, while not enough staff is available to keep those classrooms up to code. How can anyone (not directly involved) be against a much needed forensic audit.
---
You know, if the MCSD Board/System wants my support..my vote on SPLOST issues, then every item should be shown in detail to the public..what we have been shown basically would create an $188 MILLION Dollar "slush fund".
---
Has anybody actually broken down the percent of non-Muscogee County "vistors" retail expenditures?.. Other new car purchases, most everything offered for sale here can be purchased in other locales that are surely reminding its citizens that shopping local keeps the tax revenue "home" and helping out their own communities. As for cars, if a Phenix City buyer buys one here, dealers collect the Alabama/Phenix City taxes and send them there by law.

Online story: "President Obama, during his State of the Union address on Tuesday, gave shouts outs to a number of American companies in an effort to highlight the strength of the U.S. economy. * Nearly all of those companies, it turns out, are big political spenders and have contributed heavily to Democrats. * President Obama cited eBay as an example of “millions of Americans in jobs that didn’t even exist 10 or 20 years ago.” One of those companies was eBay, which Obama cited as an example of how “millions of Americans [are working] in jobs that didn’t even exist 10 or 20 years ago.” * That now seems like an unfortunate choice, because less than 24 hours after Obama’s speech, eBay announced it was cutting 2,400 jobs, or about 7 percent of its workforce. Investors welcomed the layoffs, and the company’s stock jumped more than 4 percent on the news.." -- Well, we can all look forward to January 2016 when Obamageddon packs his bags.
---
Obamageddon is going to Saudi to personally convey his condolences to the new king.. I guess he figured Biden, Kerry, or James Taylor either didn't know how low to bow or wouldn't do so.
---
Have noticed how fast Obamageddon "spinmeisters" talk? I guess it's because they do not want to engage in ordinary debate, so they don't have to stop and answer challenges of the "facts" they can't defend. One yesterday was rattling off that "all" corporations were basically not paying taxes. A Fox Panel member devoured her by asking her to name 5 such companies which she no idea .
---
Online story: "Billionaire Jeff Greene, former Democrat Senate candidate from Florida in 2010, who amassed a multibillion dollar fortune betting against subprime mortgage securities (made a profit on Obamageddon failures), says the U.S. faces a jobs crisis that will cause social unrest and radical politics. * “America’s lifestyle expectations are far too high and need to be adjusted so we have less things and a smaller, better existence,” Greene said in an interview today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “We need to reinvent our whole system of life.” -- Greene flew in on his own private jet.. wanna be he's not for redistributing his wealth?
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obama Predicts Bright Future For Legal Weed" -- Yeah.. more stoners will insure the longevity of entitlement jobs.

NYC, obviously by a Mayor de Bl(_*_)io edict, may require a doctor to be in attendance on the sidelines at all youth football games and practices. Hmmm, wonder what page of OObamaCRAP this is covered ?
---
Online quote source: "“No thief, however skillful, can rob one of knowledge, and that is why knowledge is the best and safest treasure to acquire.” - L. Frank Baum" -- Now we see the game plan of public education as offered by Democrats.. just deny them of knowledge before they are old enough to vote.
---
L-E headline: "...women and children with “Stop the Violence” signs took part in the “Parade and Rally for Wisdom” Saturday on Cusseta Road." -- Courts must adopt a similar approach used (practiced to a fault at times) by schools.. "Zero Tolerance" of guns illegally acquired or used in crimes. Schools expel students for such.. Courts should "expel" such criminals from the streets of society.
---
L-E story: "The former president of the Meriwether Association of Educators faces a felony theft by conversion charge in the loss of $33,000 from a legal services fund, authorities said. * The sheriff’s investigation was launched after the Meriwether County Board of Education was notified that the account was overdrawn. The alleged conversion of the funds occurred sometime between November 2012 and December 2014 while Turner was president." -- This would have been discovered earlier by a forensic audit.. case closed!

Online story: "A 19-year-old suburban Denver woman who tried to go to Syria to help Islamic State militants was sentenced to four years in prison Friday, even as she tearfully told a judge that she never wanted to hurt anyone and has disavowed jihad." -- Hmmm... how about sending her to Syria, along a "wanted flyer" about her denial of jihadist commitment plastered on billboards.
---
Online headline/story: "A Scorsese Documentary on Bill Clinton Is Stalled * Mr. Scorsese’s partly finished documentary about Mr. Clinton — which once seemed likely to be released as Hillary Rodham Clinton was navigating a presidential run — has stalled over disagreements about control * Mr. Clinton insisted on more control over the interview questions and final version than Mr. Scorsese was willing to give," -- Good grief.. why should Clinton care about what questions he is asked.. he'll either lie or dodge them all together.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Michael Bloomberg Reportedly Still Interested In Purchasing The New York Times" -- Hmmm.. Carlos Slim is the largest shareholder, and now Bloomberg wants the rest. What will the 99-percenters say when the upper 1% of the 1-percent is in control of the 99-percenters' "bible"?
---
Online headline: "NFL power rankings: 30 most dominant teams all-time" -- Stop.. don't bother to think about it, much less actually hope for the Falcons to have a spot.. they don't

Online story: "A Muslim woman filed a lawsuit Thursday accusing Dearborn Heights police of violating her constitutional rights by making her remove her Islamic headscarf after they arrested her for driving on a suspended license. * The lawsuit asks for Dearborn Heights to "modify its current policy" so that Muslim women can wear Islamic headscarves during booking procedures. * Kazan objected, saying her Islamic faith required her to cover her hair and neck in the presence of men who are not part of her immediate family, the lawsuit said" -- Good grief.. it's American police protocol to remove headcoverings/scarves to take mugshots, and any long clothing items that a prisoner could use to endanger themselves while in a cell. Sentence her to a one way ticket to Syria.
---
A friend of mine passed on the astute words of a friend of his concerning multi-tasking vs focus.. he said, "You can't chase two rabbits".. The Congressional Republicans should remember this.. for that matter, the MCSD Board should also..
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Muscogee County citizens might more readily go along with Myers and Thomas if they would just once give a reason or two why they are so adamant about having a top-to-bottom audit." -- Good grief.. hasn't this Jponathan Gruberesque commenter been reading about the $30,000,000.00 "accounting error" at St Francis?
---
L-E story: " Bowing to privacy concerns, the Obama administration reversed itself Friday, scaling back the release of consumers’ personal information from the government’s health insurance website to private companies with a commercial interest in the data." -- Good grief.. and we were concerned about leaks in the NSA while Obamageddon was actually selling the info he swore to keep private!
---
L-E headline: "Army: Fort Hood lacked system to ID threat of ’14 rampage" -- Yeah.. military personnel carrying guns (other than a solo jihadist), and don't forget.. theis was caused by a Bill Clinton Executive Order.
---
L-E headline: "Obama heading to India, hoping to improve ties" -- Oooops, my bad.. I thought Michelle apparently has bad taste in her daily TIE selection for Obamageddon..
---
Side note.. why would India believe anything Obamageddon says/suggests? Honesty is of importance in India.
---
Does anybody other than the staff at the Ledger-Enquirer read the retro "Doonesbury" strip on the editorial page.. I guess it's a liberal thing.. to retry the same garbage in hopes "the right person" will make it work. Hmmm, this is probably the foundation of the definition of "insanity" .. doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
---
L-E story: " A loaded .45-caliber pistol was found near a fence at E.J. Knight Apartments on Thursday, Columbus police said.* A check of the weapon revealed that it wasn’t stolen. Police seized the gun and took it to the Public Safety Center." -- "wasn't stolen"? Maybe..more than likely, just hasn't been reported stolen... yet..

I guess it'll sorta be like the adage about things happening "when hell freezes over". I mean expecting non-radical Islamist Imams rising up to stop ISIS. In other words, the Islamist Imams will do so when the non-racist black clergy of America rise up and shuts down, Al Shalatan and Jesse Jackson.
---
My favorite Fox News contributor, black, political- correctness-be-damned Sheriff Davis Clarke of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. He pretty much summed up the worth of Al Sharpton..Clarke said, "The next smart thing that comes from the mouth of Al Sharpton will be the first smart thing said by Al Sharpton." Amen, Sheriff Clarke!
---
HuffPOO story: "Gov. Andrew Cuomo wasn't the one in custody on Thursday. But the arrest of powerful New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver could spell plenty of trouble for his fellow Democrat. * The state's chief executive will face tough questions over his handling of corruption in the legislature. * Just hours after Silver's arrest on bribery and kickback charges involving millions of dollars, Cuomo's opponent in last year's Democratic primary wrote an op-ed lambasting the governor for closing down the corruption commission he'd created in July 2013. * Cuomo been sent a sharp reminder that U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara may be looking into why Cuomo killed an investigation into just the sort of double-dealing that Silver stands accused of." -- Whoa.. looks like the Democratic Party hierarchy is devouring its own.. Waita minute.. didn't Bharara get taken down himself by a federal judge a couple of days ago? Yeah! Senior US District Judge Kevin Thomas Duffy, also in New York, just lambasted Assistant US Attorney Stanley J. Okula from Preet Bharara’s office for lying to the court and advised that he bring a supervisor with him to court from now on. Richard Nixon may go down in history considered a choir boy compared to Cuomo.

Football-gate:
1- There are one question that I haven't seen addressed: Did anyone check out the Colts' footballs to see if they had similar deflation that matched the Patriots' footballs.
2- Of course a slightly deflated football can make a difference..That's the concept behind a "Nerf" football..It's easier to grip, to throw, and easier to catch, especially in cool/cold weather.
3- The best bet is on the New England Patriots..Media, and probably Seattle's personnel will be so concerned about checking the ball pressure that they won't be focused on where Brady has moved/thrown it.
4- You know, the "football" controversy in the NFL game just reminds me of why I like golf, and still enjoy watching it live or on TV. If a player in a tournament altered an approved ball, or used an unapproved ball, the punishment would be swift and certain.
5- Hmmm, sounds like Belichick and Brady are taking the Dick "I am not a crook" Nixon defense..
6 - That's all I have to say on deflated egos... uh,, footballs.
---
Online story: "Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid displayed a large bandage over his right eye, a determination to seek 2016 re-election and an unimpaired partisan political instinct Thursday at his first news conference since suffering an injury while exercising." -- C'mon, Nevada voters, you can do better than Reid. Your country needs you!
---
Republican Ohio Governor Kasich believes there needs to be a standard for education children reach..an average education. Good grief... I was taught that "average" was either the worst of the best or the best of the worst..I don't wish that on any child as an educational goal. Shoot for the moon!
---
I know why I am a conservative independent voter. Republicans that consider morals legislation as the standard of conservatism have pretty much concluded only Jesus could go to the polls and cast a guilt-free ballot.

Bryant Gumbel's general attack on the NRA is inexcusable. Hey, Pric Holder, are you going to arrest Gumbel for profiling?
---
According to the Columbus L-E, there are 12 men on the latest "Most Wanted" in Columbus list..10 blacks, 1 white, 1 Latino. Any questions why more minorities are sitting in jail?
---
WTVM 9 story: "Columbus residents tell News Leader 9 the high crime rate across the city is a problem, but Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said there is a plan in place. * "We have a plan to fight crime and we've had one for years. We're making great strides but it's never low enough. If you have one crime and one victim then that's too much and so it's a constant battle to fight crime," Tomlinson said.
1- "Providing money for our law enforcement" : "We spend more than $60,000,000 a year on law enforcement in this jurisdiction. We have the highest per capita investment rate for law enforcement anywhere in the state right here in Columbus, GA.”
2 - . Crime prevention: "Many times with middle school and high school children who may not have the oversight at home or have threats in their life may be pulled toward crime like drugs and risky behavior. We want to cut that path off and steer those children into better paths.
3- Reducing poverty: "Fighting poverty is something that brings stability to the schools, families, and community. It also reconnects people through a vibrancy of economics to dramatically reduce crime."
Good grief..Item 2 of the Mayor's response ignores how this has evolved to where it is now. School programs have taken parental responsibilities off of parents. The schools pick them up, feed'em breakfast , lunch, (and in some cases, an after school snack, provide baby sitting services, then drop'em off at home later. Then there are other school created problems ..books, well, not enough books so children take them home where parents so inclined could help, or math books that do not have the basic formulas in them that a parent could refresh themselves in order to help. As Pogo said, "We have met the enemy, and he is us."
---
Hey, remember the woman sitting next to Michelle during the SOTU speech.. the one Obamageddon referred to as "the reason I ran for this office" ? Well...somebody put the spotlight on and it appears, while she and her husband may have had a humble beginning, BUT she is a former Democratic campaign operative, working as a field organizer for Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.). Also, this also wasn’t the first time the White House used the former Democratic campaign staffer as a political prop. Obama spent a “day in the life” of Erler in June so that he could have “an opportunity to communicate directly with the people he’s working for every day. It's bad enough when Obamageddon just lies, but bringing along A/V props that are lies as well...
---
Online story: "AT&T Georgia is suing Atlanta and MARTA for millions of dollars it says it’s owed for relocating utilities to make way for the city’s new Streetcar. * In a lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court last month, the telecommunications company said it spent $5.8 million when it was ordered to relocate its equipment, * The city and MARTA have so far refused to pay, according to the filing, because they believe that Atlanta has “the inherent authority” to force AT&T to move its equipment." -- Hmmm.. government run amok? Psssst.. AT&T.. why don't you just shut down the power to Atlanta City government buildings and MARTA stations until they pay up?
---
L-E headline: "Sheriff Darr and city sign pact with Justice Department to improve mental health at jail" -- I haven't pinpointed it yet, but somewhere in this headline is the Oxymoron of all Oxymorons..
---
L-E headline: "Elections board calls for school tax vote, will open 3 early voting polls" -- Good grief.. less than two months to an election date is not nearly enough time for the SPLOST projects to even be discussed in public, much less open early voting sessions!
---
You know.. except for required special elections that are mandated by law.. all open elections should be held on the established general election date of the first Tuesday in November.
---
L-E headline: "Comedy Central to roast Justin Bieber" -- Too easy... Well, this is the best way to cook a weenie...

Online headline: "Justice Department reportedly ready to clear Ferguson officer" -- Good grief.. mainstream media and the DOJ just cannot admit it was wrong in painting Officer Wilson as a racist for carrying out his sworn duties to protect society. Shame on Holder.. mainstream media.. and, yes, Obamageddon for trying to throw Officer Wilson under the bus.
---
When you look at the 9th and 10th Commandments, you get more of an idea why Democrats want to keep Christian values out of public schools and public buildings. The 9th condemns lying so how can a Democrat keep a straight face during a campaign speech, and the 10th condemns redistribution of one person's property to another.
---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton Dodges On Keystone Pipeline Again " -- Hmmm, obviously, Hillewinsky doesn't want to get off the fence, so she defers all questions about laying pipe to her residential expert, Bill.
---
You know.. it hasn't even occurred to Obamageddon nor the mainstream media that the middleclass sent all the Republicans to Congress this past election. There simply aren't enough 1-Percenters to even tip the voting scale, and we know that the entitlement class voted Democrat as a bloc.
---
Online headline: "Killer plants are actually much smarter than we think" -- It's happened.. liberals who talk to plants have started to hear plants talk back...

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Barack Obama: 'The Citizens United SCOTUS Decision Was Wrong''" -- No.. the Constitution was right and SCOTUS upheld it!

Interesting tidbit found: "Apple "apps" produced more revenue.. considerably more revenue, that all of Hollywood's box office receipts in 2014. Apple "app" developers also susteained over 250,000 more jobs than Hollywood.

Online story: "Pluto was recently reclassified as a planet, albeit a Dwarf planet, after losing the distinction in 2006" -- Yes! Now our generation's planet mobiles and science fair projects grades will be restored to the original grades!

HuffPOOPOO headline: "France To Get Better Guns To Fight Terror" -- Well,. guess Obamageddon will have to find another socialist country to take the place of the government he's trying to change ours into/.

Online headline: "New York could soon have the highest minimum wage in the U.S." -- Good grief.. as if inner city unemployment wasn't already bad.. guess that means the NYPD will have even less inclinations to to patrol the streets and make arrests.

Online story: "According to Nielsen data, 31.7 million viewers watched Tuesday night's prime-time address on broadcast and cable networks. That's the lowest television viewership for a State of the Union address since President Bill Clinton's final speech to a joint session of Congress in 2000." -- Hmmm... double confirmation that after 6 years of liberalism at its worse, even liberals di=on't want to hear about how bad it has failed... again...
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Kanye West claims he was the victim of racial profiling" -- "victim"? Kanye West is a "victim"? Well, maybe of his own ego, but Kanye West is a racist in the most obvious ways.
---
Online quote source: " “Treat those who are good with goodness, and also treat those who are not good with goodness. Thus goodness is attained. Be honest to those who are honest, and be also honest to those who are not honest. Thus honesty is attained.” - Lao Tzu" -- Hmmm, obviously not a scripture from the Quran.
---
SOTU speech rewind: Obamageddon recites: "Surely we can agree it’s a good thing that for the first time in 40 years, the crime rate and the incarceration rate have come down together, " -- Hmmm this can be explained easily by the NYPD not walking the streets, nor answering calls in NYC, thus no arrests are being made nor new criminals being jailed..
---
Online story: "Add another Article III federal judge to the lengthening list of those fed up with the lying and abuses by our “now ironically named Department of Justice.” Senior US District Judge Kevin Thomas Duffy in New York just lambasted Assistant US Attorney Stanley J. Okula from Preet Bharara’s office for lying to the court and advised that he bring a supervisor with him to court from now on." -- Hmmm... wanna bet Okula or Bharara will be the replacenment appointee for Pric Holder as U.S. Attorney General.
---
This new SPLOST project "wish LUST" needs our legislative representatives to sound off on it. From what I read, SPLOST revenues cannot be raised for or spent on maintenance projects, and most of the "wish LUST" is for maintenance. Contact your reps for confirmation.

Something made me stop and listen as I ran across the beginning of a MCSD meeting on the TV yesterday. . I know Dr Lewis had been applauded for altering the area breakdown into 3 districts versus the straight North/South division of the past, but it sure sounds like he's going to be beating the old drum hard to get a decisive/devisive vote result on the SPLOST vote.
---
After watching the latest MCSD board meeting replay, Frank Myer hit the nail on the head that raising the SPLOST issue now is not popular with the man on the street. Unfortunately, the school system knows this, and is counting on a low turnout, heavily weighted with school system employees voting for their own , interests to carry the vote. There are 6,000 employees..add another 6,000 spouses, throw in employee parents/parents-in-laws, so, in effect, there's a self-serving voter base of close to 25,000 people.
---
Can I call'em..before the 2009 SPLOST was voted on, I challenged the absurdity of there being $223 MILLION being submitted since 5 years of the previous record 1 year collection ($36M) would only bring in about $180 Million, and that was not going to happen under the current economic conditions. I predicted that the total collected would probably be $45-$50 million short. At the last board meeting it was revealed that the SPLOST brought in a total of $174 MILLION, $49,000,000.00 SHORT of the goal of $223,000,000.00
---
You know...seeing as Bleep Veep Biden was the only Democrat smiling during Obamageddon's speech.. I guess it's because he's back in the running for 2016 after Obamageddon threw Hillewinsky under the bus.
---
Following a head's up to watch the last MCSD meeting, I did. I know Dr Lewis had been applauded for altering the area breakdown into 3 North/South districts versus the straight North/South division of the past, but it sure sounds like he's going to be beating the old drum hard to get a decisive vote result on the SPLOST vote. Samo-samo.

Random thought: Hmmm..let only sororities have parties with alcohol involved...boy, that'll show those frat boys..yeah, right..all that would mean is frat boys would have more money to spend buying personal consumption booze. It also just puts more pressure on college women. What happens when a party gets out of line, and they wanna go to the safety of their dorm but that's where the party is?
---
You know..media outlets and news shows that prefer electronic messaging via "twitter' is a lot what's wrong with the news right now. There can be no discussion, no exchange of ideas when there's a set limit of 140 characters per message.
---
Why was Sgt Tahmooressi the guest of Californian Congressman Duncan Hunter instead of Michelle Obama? Did you notice Obamageddon ignored his presence?
---
It's more than just coincidental that the Patriots only deflated 11 of their 12 game footballs. They needed one that wouldn't stick to the kickers' feet on punts, pats, and field goal attempts.
---
L-E headline/story: "Prosecutor drops charge against ex-Northside high school teacher * In dropping the charge of criminal attempt to commit a felony, Assistant District Attorney Wesley Lambertus wrote: “The defendant (Tucker Rollins Hearn, age 39) has surrendered his teaching license after making inappropriate and lewd comments to one of his female students. Therefore, said warrants are dismissed without prejudice.” -- Good grief.. and does the DA's office know where he is, or what he's been up to since? Like... when has a wrist slap ever stopped predatory recidivism?
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid L-E "soundoff": "I disagree with Eli Lake's column. We are not at war against radical Islam. We are at war against terrorists, many of whom call themselves Muslim, but who are themselves actually at war against Islam." -- Good grief...Well. where's the Islam army putting down these terrorists!
---
You know, our Councilman, and long time friend, Glenn Davis must be seething that All-Star wannabe Colby Rasmus will get paid more in one year than Glenn probably made in 7 years as an Astro..(I could be wrong, but not by much)

About 10 minutes into Obamageddon's speech, I began wondering whether he got his engagement calendar notations mixed up..I'm guessing he gave the speech he was planning on giving to the Liars Club.
---
After listening to Obamageddon's speech last night, the "Fact Check" website probably went down faster than the OObamaCRAP one last year.
---
On business ideas, Obamageddon is a train wreck, and a high speed one at that. How can he expect business executives to look past next quarters' earnings when analyzing front line employee costs when doing so jeopardizes the jobs of middle and upper level employees, and their companies continued existence .
---
Did you see Obamageddon's orange indoor tan? Looks like he was trying to match up with Boehner..wonder if they paid the 10% excise tax?
---
You know, it's tough listening to Obamageddon tell us how good things are going because we know he's lying.

---
Tell you what, my wife nailed Joni Ernst last night.. Saturday Night Live will have a field day with her hair style. Wonder if she went to John Kerry's stylist?
---
Obamageddon said we are are nation of laws.. Sure wish he would lead by example.
---
I don't know who was manning the "shared camera", but it was rather obvious that the camera director would not show the Democrats' weak responses to Obamageddon's talking points.
---
Good grief..Obamageddon literally said we need a new Cuban policy because it hasn't worked for 50 years.. Well...then let Cuba change!
---
Online headline: "Obama Made History By Using This Word in the State of the Union" -- Only the NY Times would mention that Obamageddon said "transgender".. but at the same time, the NY Times failed to mention that Obamageddon DID NOT MENTION al Qaeda even once.
---
Random thought: Why does Lysol et al, kill only 99.9% of germs? It doesn't seem like too big a stretch to kill the other 0.1%..
---
You know..the ISIS demand for $200,000,000.00 to release two Japanese hostages has exposed ISIS for what it really is..just street gangs. If ISIS was really about ideals, even its warped ones, , there would not be ransom demands, just more jihadist terrorism.
---
Good grief...a California newspaper us under fire for referring to illegal aliens as "Illegals" in a headline. You'd have thought that newspaper was in Iran, and Charlie Hebdo was the publisher. I tell you what, political correctness has gotten so stifling, "I CAN'T BREATHE"!
---
My bride and I went to see "American Sniper" Monday. I had asked her to "humor" me, and she did. She said that while it wasn't "her cup of tea", it also helped her in her relationship with couples, dear friends, in our lives that have lived the experience. I thanked her for going with me. She thanked me as well. Oh, one thing..if, (no, WHEN you go because you do not need to miss this) do not sit on the front row of the movie..especially if you are in the Car mike 15 " Big D" (auditorium 1 )..Thank goodness it wasn't in 3-D. You could not see the full screen from there unless you scanned the area with your eyes.
---
You know..what image do Columbus visitors get...take with them..when they drive along a major thoroughfare such as Veterans Parkway, and see two buildings with razor-wire fences protecting them. One is actually a Booker T Washington public housing building, and one is a thrift store across the street from another public housing project.
---
Online headline: "Earnest: "The World Is Not At War With Islam;" We're At War With Those Who Carry Out Attacks In The Name Of Islam" -- Good grief.. wonder how he would separate Hitler and Nazism.
---
National story that missed the Columbus L-E editor's attention: "Protesters invoking Michael Brown and Ferguson burst into an auditorium at Harris-Stowe State University early Monday afternoon and briefly shut down a Martin Luther King Day celebration. * "They came in here (being) so very disrespectful," said Harris-Stowe freshman Shaquell Humphries, 18. "There are old folks and little kids in that auditorium and they (the protesters) started cussing."
---
Mich(_*_)el Moore and Seth Rogen are displaying their own individual cowardice by back pedaling on their comments about snipers. It's true cowardice when you do that simply because you realize the personal backlash that's coming because patriots throughout America are going to boycott your future ventures.
---
Good grief...Obamageddon's spinmeisters are claiming raising capital gains taxes will help middle class America's ability to send ..afford to send.. their children to college. Huh? How does raising taxes on middle class families savings accounts help families with the cash to pay for college? If an investment has doubled, how can stealing 23-28% of that gain by taxing it more help families afford college for their children?
---
It's absolutely mind-boggling that Obamageddon can...no, actually does, send his spinmeisters out to lie about how healthy our economy and job markets are. There are less people working now than 6 years ago, and too many of these aren't working full time and benefit qualifying ones.
---
Online headline: "Couple fined for parking Ford F-150 in their own driveway" -- Oooops my bad.. though this might have happened in my neighborhood... but it was in NY.
---
9,000 people have been alerted for possible jury selection in the Colorado trial for the (_*_) who shot up the movie theater there. Good grief.. I guess since recreational pot is legal there (not federally, of course), finding 12 people not likely to smoke/consume any during the trial period is quite a challenge.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "This Was The Best Moment Of Obama's State Of The Union Address" -- OK.. I give up.. what was it?
---
L-E headline: "Obama to Congress: Time to help middle class" -- Will someone ask Obamageddon to define "middle class" .... the middle class , in my opinion, is not looking for redistributed income from already successful people.. The middle class just wants to have a shot at achieving the American dream on its own efforts. Middle class does not look for government agencies controlling their income nor their lives.
---
L-E headline: "Boko Haram leader claims massacre in Baga, threatens more" -- Hmmm Where's WaldoBama, Pric Holder, and Al-Sharlatan when their protest signs, "Black Lives Matter" would actually be pertinent?
---
I tell you what.. the school board wants to rush a so-far-less-than-openly-discussed SPLOST issue for a vote in less than two months, and Mayor TomLYINGson wants to go after the tax-freeze in the 2016 General Election. It doesn't look like neither of our authorized taxing bodies gives a damn about Columbus. Neither can stay in their budgets with the revenue stream, and neither has control of maintaining what we already have.
---
It is not up to the taxpayers to fund financial mismanagement of politicians. Arise, Columbus, and send the MCSD Board and Mayor TomLYINGson a message..
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid L-E "soundoff": "Mr. Myers and Mr. Thomas seem to be determined to lead Muscogee schools into the same path that a whole board of their type led the Gwinnett County School System causing them to lose their accreditation." -- Hey.. there needs to be a moratorium on School Board members who are not Myers or Thomas from sending in "soundoff".
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-extra-stupid L-E "soundoff": " Hopefully Georgia will hurry up and approve marriage equality for gay people so that we can stopped being looked at as a redneck, Bible-thumping, backwoods state." -- Hmmm a real diplomat.. what happened to "killing your opponents with kindness"? Besides. the writer just labeled him/herself as more bigoted than those he/she's throwing stones at.
---
Hey... why is Carlton Gary still alive? The last appeal issue was proven impertinent, so why hasn't the death clock resumed?
---
Online story: A Russian intelligence warship docked in Havana on Tuesday, a day before the start of historic US-Cuba talks aimed at normalizing diplomatic relations. * There was nothing stealthy about the arrival of the Viktor Leonov CCB-175, which was moored to a pier in Old Havana where cruise ships often dock. But the visit was not officially announced by Cuban authorities. * The vessel previously docked in Havana in February and March last year, staying there for a few days. Those visits were also unannounced" -- Hmmm.. instant repeat: Good grief..Obamageddon literally said we need a new Cuban policy because it hasn't worked for 50 years.. Well...then let Cuba change!
---
L-E story: " Myers was the board’s campaign consultant in 2009, when voters approved the five-year SPLOST that expired Dec. 31. Now, he said, “I’m not anti-tax or anti-SPLOST. I am anti-tax and anti-SPLOST right now. … We need a new Spencer, I get that, but I want to have it after we have accountability.” -- Whoa, Frank Myers, you're beginning to back pedal like Judy Thomas has about keeping the 1st Floor of the Macon Rd Government Service Center available for only public parking! We do not need a NEW Spencer.. If the current one is so unsafe, spread the current students around to the other high schools.. there's plenty of room, and there are excessive school buses galore to transport them.. and at a great less cost that $56,000,000.00. In fact, if that $56,000,000.00 was aimed at improving the school facilities, it would be better spent!
---
I want to know why Kia Chambers voted "yes"... didn't she campaign on bringing responsibility back to the school board, and yet her first real vote was a "rubber stamp".

Online headline: "Step toward a coup' in Yemen capital city * Yemen's U.S.-backed leadership came under serious threat Monday as government troops clashed with Shiite rebels." -- Hmmm "U.S.-backed leadership"? You have one "guess" as to which side the Yemen/Oman Gitmo releasees are on...
---
You know.. Al-Sharlatan never seems to pray for the events he attends, but he certainly knows how to prey on them.
---
Can you not see Al-Sharlatan at the mic during the Ferguson, MO riots saying, "Let us prey"?
---
Oscar spoiler alert: You can cancel your plans and get on with your life..Best Picture, Actor, and Director.."American Sniper"..Hollywood is on trial.

Sunday, our sermon was built around the parable of the employer giving three employees various amounts of "talents' to manage while he was away from his home/business . Two of the employees were industrious and doubled the money his employer entrusted them, and the employer rewarded them with promotions. The third employee literally buried the money his employer entrusted him with, and gave it back upon his return. The employer fired him for lack of effort. Sorta reminds me of an employer hiring 3 persons at starter ( minimum ) wage, then promoting the ones that work hard and firing the one who didn't.
---
Online headline: "Obama to Propose Capital Gains Tax Hikes to Benefit Middle Class" -- "benefit middle class"? How does Obamageddon, and mainstream media for that matter, figure that raising the taxes on the retirement savings of 85% of Americans will benefit them? We're talking about pension plans and traditional 401Ks as well as small businesses being passed along to the next generation.
---
Online headline: "America’s First Islamic Government: A Muslim Only City-State on American Soil" -- Excuse me, but how does this pass muster under our Constitution which prohibits discrimination based on race, sex, or religious beliefs? On the other hand, how does the Congressional Black Caucus pass muster as well? FTR...Islamberg, NY
---
Online story: "A U.S. Army recruiting office in Phoenix has taken down a recruiting sign that read, “On a mission for both God and country” after images of the sign, posted online, sparked controversy. * The Army Times reports Army Recruiting Command spokesman Brian Lepley said the sign was ordered to be taken down on Jan. 16 after a public outcry." -- Obamageddon may can order GOD out of posters, but he will never be able to order GOD out of the hearts of American soldiers.
---
Hmmmm, milk prices are down..of course we haven't seen any indication at any grocery store I shop. The mainstream perception is based on declines in China and Russia halting their import of American milk. Of course farmers and distributors are benefiting from a steep decline in gas costs which helps them with lower costs-to-market, but why aren't consumers benefiting from the natural reactions of supply&demand?
---
You know, if it didn't matter, as defenders of the New England Patriots contend, why did the Pats partially deflate the balls they used on offense? Maybe the Patriot's should hire Hillewinsky to represent them.. she could use the defense of "What difference does it make?".
---
Ted Cruz et al, keep blasting away that if the next Republican nominee for president is not a conservative in their eyes then the Democrats will win again. I disagree.. What cost the Republican Party in 2012 was the RNC demanding that the party focus on moral issues rather than Constitutional issues. Romney...and too a lesser degree, McCain, lost because of one-issue voters, especially women, who voted against the RNC stand on those issues. Obamageddon didn't win those votes, the Republican Party capitulated on those voters.
---
Online story: "After the state legislature's approval of a new Arizona law Thursday morning, students who want a high school diploma will need to pass a citizenship test or the hats won't fly at graduation. The law was speedily approved by both houses later in the afternoon and signed by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey in the evening of the same day." -- This should be required in every state! No student should be sent into the real world without knowing what the founding fathers passed along to them. Hmmm...watch SAT scores increase as well.
---
Online quote source: "“The tragedy of life is often not in our failure, but rather in our complacency; not in our doing too much, but rather in our doing too little; not in our living above our ability, but rather in our living below our capacities.” - Benjamin E. Mays" -- Hmm another bit of wisdom that shall never grace the walls of a Democratic Party politician, or government entitlement office.
---
I think I've finally figured out what Obamageddon meant when he said his would be the most transparent administration in America's history... he meant that we would clearly see he wanted to eliminate Congress, the Courts, and the Constitution.
---
Online headline: "Japan PM vows to save two hostages threatened with beheading by ISIS" -- Now we're talking.. maybe Japan will revive the samurai warrior brigades and send them and ninjas and behead all the bastards in al Qaeda/ISIS!
---
As Obamageddon steps onto the Speaker's dais in the House tonight.. Boehner should have a sign drop down behind him saying, "Mission Botched".
---
Instead of "Hail to the Chief" being played as Obamageddon walks into the House chamber tonight, instead of playing "Hail to the Chief", perhaps a rendition of Nat King Cole's classic song cam be song by Republicans, "The Party's Over".
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Isn’t the purpose of school board members to support the school system and its students, not tear it down? -- Good grief.. this must have been sent by one of the school board members who isn't Frank Myers or John Thomas! The School Board is suppose to represent The Taxpayers and citizens of Columbus to make sure the School System does not lose focus.. Too bad the elected MCSD board has not done such a good job over the last 23 years.
---
A "get's it" L-E "soundoff": "Police officers don’t need special training in dealing with minorities. The minorities need training in respect for the law and the avoidance of potentially dangerous confrontations with police officers." -- Amen!!!!
Another "get's it" L-E "soundoff": " I was a member of the Selma march. I was a captain in the Alabama National Guard and liaison to Sheriff Jim Clark. The movie was nothing like the real Selma march." -- Hmmm.. another failing grade on Hollywood's report card..Didn't MLK say.. "the truth will set you free"? Well, half-truths are the work of the Devil...
---
Another Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Do our new board members even know why Spencer needs replacing? It is literally sinking. If a wall or ceiling should ever collapse on students, $56 million will seem like small change." -- Good grief.. I've been on the Spencer Campus sevearl times in the past two years attending sporting events of my daughter. I saw nothing that endanger her, or I would not have let her go there. Besides, if there was danger, the 6 returning MCSD Board members, ESPECIALLY the one for Spencer's district soul be sued for reckless endangerment for not previously shutting down the school and moving the less than 8 hundred students to the other high schools..there is no shortage of city-wide high school classroom or buses.
---
A "get's it" L-E "soundoff": "While thousands in Nigeria are being killed in a holocaust, the world news media can only focus on 12 death in Paris. Why is this?" -- In a few words.. because Al Sharlatan doesn't go there..
---
L-E headline "Europe’s police reconsider arms after Charlie Hebdo terror attack" -- "arms"? Cannot mainstream media/L-E even print the word "guns" when guns are the obvious way to protect citizens and law enforcement officers alike?
---
The Columbus L-E editorial always leaves pertinent info out when it boosts the presence of CSU in the downtown area..the L-E seems to ignore the fact that when CSU buys property for school use, the property becomes tax-exempt. Just the change of hands from the R.W. Page Corporation (McClatchy now) to CSU means that over $60,000.00 will be stripped annually from the tax revenues, yet that building will require even more costs to oversee police and fire protection services from the pockets of Columbus taxpayers. Oh, and don't forget the reduction of parking spaces for Columbusites trying to patronize downtown businesses..
