Boren wants quality equipment, and he’s right to insist on that despite the expense." -- You know.. good quality cameras are not determined by price alone, and there should be open comparison tests to determine what level of "quality" is necessary/adequate to capture interaction; and just because we have 500 police officers does not mean the City needs to buy 500+ cameras. Enough for the largest shift of uniformed street officers should be enough, and each shift "check them out/return them". It also looks like a "project" for the Crime Prevention Committee".. the Committee could use the we already know it dispenses $700.000.00+ on less than (and definitely not provable) effective "programs" .. cameras is a definite qualifier for the Committee largess.
