I guess it'll sorta be like the adage about things happening "when hell freezes over". I mean expecting non-radical Islamist Imams rising up to stop ISIS. In other words, the Islamist Imams will do so when the non-racist black clergy of America rise up and shuts down, Al Shalatan and Jesse Jackson.

My favorite Fox News contributor, black, political- correctness-be-damned Sheriff Davis Clarke of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. He pretty much summed up the worth of Al Sharpton..Clarke said, "The next smart thing that comes from the mouth of Al Sharpton will be the first smart thing said by Al Sharpton." Amen, Sheriff Clarke!

HuffPOO story: "Gov. Andrew Cuomo wasn't the one in custody on Thursday. But the arrest of powerful New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver could spell plenty of trouble for his fellow Democrat. * The state's chief executive will face tough questions over his handling of corruption in the legislature. * Just hours after Silver's arrest on bribery and kickback charges involving millions of dollars, Cuomo's opponent in last year's Democratic primary wrote an op-ed lambasting the governor for closing down the corruption commission he'd created in July 2013. * Cuomo been sent a sharp reminder that U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara may be looking into why Cuomo killed an investigation into just the sort of double-dealing that Silver stands accused of." -- Whoa.. looks like the Democratic Party hierarchy is devouring its own.. Waita minute.. didn't Bharara get taken down himself by a federal judge a couple of days ago? Yeah! Senior US District Judge Kevin Thomas Duffy, also in New York, just lambasted Assistant US Attorney Stanley J. Okula from Preet Bharara’s office for lying to the court and advised that he bring a supervisor with him to court from now on. Richard Nixon may go down in history considered a choir boy compared to Cuomo.

Football-gate:
1- There are one question that I haven't seen addressed: Did anyone check out the Colts' footballs to see if they had similar deflation that matched the Patriots' footballs.
2- Of course a slightly deflated football can make a difference..That's the concept behind a "Nerf" football..It's easier to grip, to throw, and easier to catch, especially in cool/cold weather.
3- The best bet is on the New England Patriots..Media, and probably Seattle's personnel will be so concerned about checking the ball pressure that they won't be focused on where Brady has moved/thrown it.
4- You know, the "football" controversy in the NFL game just reminds me of why I like golf, and still enjoy watching it live or on TV. If a player in a tournament altered an approved ball, or used an unapproved ball, the punishment would be swift and certain.
5- Hmmm, sounds like Belichick and Brady are taking the Dick "I am not a crook" Nixon defense..
6 - That's all I have to say on deflated egos... uh,, footballs.

Online story: "Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid displayed a large bandage over his right eye, a determination to seek 2016 re-election and an unimpaired partisan political instinct Thursday at his first news conference since suffering an injury while exercising." -- C'mon, Nevada voters, you can do better than Reid. Your country needs you!

Republican Ohio Governor Kasich believes there needs to be a standard for education children reach..an average education. Good grief... I was taught that "average" was either the worst of the best or the best of the worst..I don't wish that on any child as an educational goal. Shoot for the moon!

I know why I am a conservative independent voter. Republicans that consider morals legislation as the standard of conservatism have pretty much concluded only Jesus could go to the polls and cast a guilt-free ballot.

Bryant Gumbel's general attack on the NRA is inexcusable. Hey, Pric Holder, are you going to arrest Gumbel for profiling?
---
According to the Columbus L-E, there are 12 men on the latest "Most Wanted" in Columbus list..10 blacks, 1 white, 1 Latino. Any questions why more minorities are sitting in jail?
---
WTVM 9 story: "Columbus residents tell News Leader 9 the high crime rate across the city is a problem, but Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said there is a plan in place. * "We have a plan to fight crime and we've had one for years. We're making great strides but it's never low enough. If you have one crime and one victim then that's too much and so it's a constant battle to fight crime," Tomlinson said.
1- "Providing money for our law enforcement" : "We spend more than $60,000,000 a year on law enforcement in this jurisdiction. We have the highest per capita investment rate for law enforcement anywhere in the state right here in Columbus, GA.”
2 - . Crime prevention: "Many times with middle school and high school children who may not have the oversight at home or have threats in their life may be pulled toward crime like drugs and risky behavior. We want to cut that path off and steer those children into better paths.
3- Reducing poverty: "Fighting poverty is something that brings stability to the schools, families, and community. It also reconnects people through a vibrancy of economics to dramatically reduce crime."
Good grief..Item 2 of the Mayor's response ignores how this has evolved to where it is now. School programs have taken parental responsibilities off of parents. The schools pick them up, feed'em breakfast , lunch, (and in some cases, an after school snack, provide baby sitting services, then drop'em off at home later. Then there are other school created problems ..books, well, not enough books so children take them home where parents so inclined could help, or math books that do not have the basic formulas in them that a parent could refresh themselves in order to help. As Pogo said, "We have met the enemy, and he is us."

Hey, remember the woman sitting next to Michelle during the SOTU speech.. the one Obamageddon referred to as "the reason I ran for this office" ? Well...somebody put the spotlight on and it appears, while she and her husband may have had a humble beginning, BUT she is a former Democratic campaign operative, working as a field organizer for Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.). Also, this also wasn’t the first time the White House used the former Democratic campaign staffer as a political prop. Obama spent a “day in the life” of Erler in June so that he could have “an opportunity to communicate directly with the people he’s working for every day. It's bad enough when Obamageddon just lies, but bringing along A/V props that are lies as well...

Online story: "AT&T Georgia is suing Atlanta and MARTA for millions of dollars it says it’s owed for relocating utilities to make way for the city’s new Streetcar. * In a lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court last month, the telecommunications company said it spent $5.8 million when it was ordered to relocate its equipment, * The city and MARTA have so far refused to pay, according to the filing, because they believe that Atlanta has “the inherent authority” to force AT&T to move its equipment." -- Hmmm.. government run amok? Psssst.. AT&T.. why don't you just shut down the power to Atlanta City government buildings and MARTA stations until they pay up?
---
L-E headline: "Sheriff Darr and city sign pact with Justice Department to improve mental health at jail" -- I haven't pinpointed it yet, but somewhere in this headline is the Oxymoron of all Oxymorons..
---
L-E headline: "Elections board calls for school tax vote, will open 3 early voting polls" -- Good grief.. less than two months to an election date is not nearly enough time for the SPLOST projects to even be discussed in public, much less open early voting sessions!
---
You know.. except for required special elections that are mandated by law.. all open elections should be held on the established general election date of the first Tuesday in November.
---
L-E headline: "Comedy Central to roast Justin Bieber" -- Too easy... Well, this is the best way to cook a weenie...
