Online headline: "Analysis: Obama 'Resigned' to Being Wartime President" -- Ooops, my bad! Whew, thought for a minute I'd woken up to POTUS Biden.
---
Online headline: "Obama: GOP Holding Small Business Bill 'Hostage" -- No...the hold up it lack of potUS Iman-a's leadership to win over just a few/ even a lot, of Republican Senators by giving credibility to their concerns. Besides, potUS Imam-a spent his vacation golfing and swimming at Martha's Vineyard rather than trying to win some Republicans over.
---
Speaking of such, how do DIM/DUMBorats know which buttons to push to get elected, then absolutely forget those issues the day after an election?
---
Are you more incensed at Roger Clemens lying to Congress or Congress lying to us? The Senate wouldn't even convict POTus Clinton for lying to the world about Monica.
---
Online headline: "Iran Calls French First Lady 'Prostitute' Over Stoning Issue" -- Sounds like somebody in Iran was already 'stoned'.
---
L-E headline/story: "Director of Columbus' Aaron Cohn Regional Youth Detention Center among 15 arrested in gambling raid * Jimmie Lee Hooks III, 31, director of the Aaron Cohn Regional Youth Detention Center, was charged with gambling * Also arrested was Joseph Keith Foster, 53, who was executive director of the Community Alliance, an organization associated with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department’s Innovative Sports Program and its Blazers sports teams." -- No wonder two of the highest crime sectors abutted the Comer Auditorium where the Blazers played!
---
Looks like the Executive Director of Crime Prevention should take over the hiring department for the city.
---
potUS Imam'a is proud of sending 30 National Guard soldiers to Arizona; why, so they can be moving targets for the huge drug gangs that move through there? Heck, I bet potUS Imam-a's wife had more that 30 Secret Service agents surrounding her when she went biking on Martha's Vineyard.
---
Welcome back, welcome home Northern LL. Wow, a youth program that made Columbus proud.
---
Don't get me wrong, everyone's life is important, but why does the L-E run a story on a 20 year old killed while riding his motorcycle, and happens to like snakes, but ignore the passing of community leaders like John Holder who had a tremendous record of community service?
---
L-E story: "SEATTLE — Parents pulled their children out of class and protested outside a Washington state school Monday, the day a teacher convicted of inappropriately touching female students was scheduled to return to work." -- Liberals!!! At least in GA, sex offenders cannot get within 1000 feet of schools and playgrounds.
---
L-E headline: "U.S. grapples with bedbugs, misuse of pesticides " -- But not for long! We get to vote'm out in 2 months!
---
From a fellow BCer: "This economy is SO BAD that when I went to Walmart to buy a toaster, my FREE GIFT WAS A BANK! "
---
Online headline: "U.S. Drivers Get a Big Break at the Gas Pump" -- Ooops, my bad! Figured some entrepreneur had figured a way to direct DIM/DUMBorat 'methane gas' into our cars,
---
L-E headline: "Big Brother 12 Episode 23: Who did Head of Household Lane Elenburg nominate for eviction? _- Ooops, my bad! Thought potUS Imam'a's Housing Tsar had chosen between Pelosi and Biden.
---
What does having one's birth certificate plastered on one's forehead have to do with whether you are a Christian, Muslim or other? Somebody should tell potUS Imam-a that one's actions of servitude determine the facts.
---
Looks like Iraq is going to learn what our big cities have learned when their NBA team has won a championship; you're going to get looted when the US Army is not guarding your streets.
---
The Taliban is now claiming it wants the Hamas-que at Ground Zero to fail so it becomes a recruiting tool. Last time I heard such a vacant plea was when Br'er Rabbit was trying to get Br'er Bear & Br'er Fox to do anything - cook him, skin him, eat him - anything, but please don't fling him into that Briar Patch.
---
L-E story: "NEW YORK — Levi Johnston chose one of his favorite television venues, CBS’ “The Early Show,” to declare on Friday that he lied when he previously said he had lied about Sarah Palin." -- Johnson's version of the truth is he lied about lying? Levi Johnston has just proven he's qualified to become a DIM/DUMBorat candidate for a potUS Imam-a cabinet post or Press Agent.
---
L-E's "QUOTABLE": “Facts and truth really don’t have much to do with each other.” William Faulkner American author (1897-1962)" -- What a reminder as potUS Imam-a asks that we digest the facts about his religious beliefs.
---
L-E story: "WARSAW, Poland — Solidarity founder Lech Walesa shunned several of the movement’s 30th anniversary sessions Monday, saying he is tired and disillusioned with the Polish trade union’s current state. * The 66-year-old Walesa, who was Poland’s president from 1990-95, said he is unhappy with Poland’s politics and economy today and with Solidarity itself, because the trade union is getting too involved in daily politics." -- Now here is a man, a hero, that potUS Imam-a should hire as an advisor.
---
L-E headline: " New athletic director says UGA must find way to stop player arrests " -- Well, it starts at recruiting, and after that a 10:30 curfew/lockdown helps.
---
L-E headline: "Louisiana-Lafayette will get $875,000 for playing at Athens " -- Why don't they just cancel a game no one cares about and save the $875K for student education, AND eliminate an opportunity for a career ending injury?
---
L-E story: WASHINGTON — Americans are spending a little more this summer, but hardly enough to rejuvenate the weakening economy. " -- It's the INFLATION, stupid!

A conservative's daily look at the news with an aspect of "Laugh-In Looks at the News" and "Johnny Carson's monologue" twisted in.

The Breakfast Club - August 30, 2010
Online story: "NEW ORLEANS (Aug. 29) -- President Barack Obama says he isn't worried about a recent poll showing that nearly one-fifth of Americans believe he is a Muslim. * Obama, who is a Christian, says "the facts are the facts." -- Yes, 'facts ARE facts", and the fact is that potUS Imam-a does give doubt to his claims by his actions and words. Besides, when was the last time he honored his faith by action? This year alone, he's snubbed the National Day of Prayer, the Boy Scouts of America's 100th Jubilee, and Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day (though he's probably not worthy of being there anytime).

The TV Guide channel has reached the point that if it sent out a broadcast rating, my v-chip would 'block' it. It's getting so we cannot look to see what's on and on what channel when our children are in the room with us.

From a fellow BCer: An idea that time has come to implement ....Let's replace full-body scanners at the airports with a booth that will detonate any explosive device you have on you.

Online headline: "New Pics Of Titanic Emerge" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN had covered the Glenn Beck :Restore Honor" rally, and they actually covered it.

Frank Thomas, baseball memory....at Peach LL, Columbus High, Auburn, Chicago, and the World! Would have been nice of the L-E covered the ceremony in person.

A man behind his apartment complex was shot 4 times when someone tried to rob him of his bag of "CD's". "Cocaine Dust"?
---
It ain't about religious freedom...the Hamas-que, that is.
---
L-E headline: " Millions wasted rebuilding Iraq " -- See? Government T.A.R.P's and bailouts don't work in other countries either!
---
L-E headline/story: " Mexico to up security in border city after blasts * NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico — Mexico’s government on Sunday promised to increase security after a series of explosive devices were detonated in the border city of Reynosa and said it would step up efforts to identify more of the 72 migrants massacred last week." -- Nuevo Laredo, Mexico? That's where the Mexican team in the Little League World Series was from, and most of the town was in Pennsylvania....legally. What's the Mexican government going to do, make sure they don't get back?
---
The only real test the education system needs to be focused on is whether or not students who graduate are ready for Real Life 101, whether it be college or work or life in general.

potUS Imam-a didn't want to attend the Little League World Series so he sent VPOTUS Biden to 'throw out the first glitch'.

Online story: "Federal authorities said Saturday they will take over the investigation into the massacre of 72 migrants at a ranch in northern Mexico because evidence suggests drug traffickers were responsible. * They also said an Ecuadorean migrant who was the lone survivor has refused Mexico's offer of a humanitarian visa and will return to his native country." -- DOH? Why would a young man who survived what was supposed to be a 73 person massacre think that there was ANY 'humanitarian' concept in Mexico?
---
There's a story going around that potUS Imam-a is trying to use the "Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976" to ban lead from ammunition. Huh...because getting shot with lead is more toxic than being shot with something else?
---
Online story: "The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing." -- It isn't because a--Nashiri is a reborn Christian..
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “It is one thing to show a man that he is in an error, and another to put him in possession of the truth.” — John Locke, English philosopher (born this day in 1632, died in 1704). " Rush Limbaugh has the same problem with today's DIM/DUMBorats 300 years later.
--
After all these years, Tim Chitwood finally gets it. City departmental audits should be conducted like the Health Department conducts inspections. A knock on the door is all the time needed to start an inspection.

L-E headline/story: "Auburn may not be able to operate pilot school * The Federal Aviation Administration says Auburn University’s flight program can no longer train pilots because of the resignation of its chief pilot, but school officials disagree with the agency’s interpretation of the rules. * The program’s last head pilot, Rae Williams, resigned after an unidentified student pilot flying with him in May landed the school’s Cessna trainer without lowering its landing gear, damaging the aircraft. * The school has yet to hire a new chief pilot, and FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said rules prohibit a flight school from operating without someone in the position." -- Like it would improve? It doesn't take a licensed operator to understand a plane lands better using wheels.
---
The saddest moment of Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington, DC was Al Sharptons 'lack of honor' demonstration down the street. I'd wager that Dr KIng would have participated in Glenn Beck's rally before he'd have joined Al Sharpton. King had a dream, not a nightmare.
---
L-E headline: "Obama: Baghdad to chart its own future" -- Well, with a lot of hard work, maybe "WE" can start to re-chart of future in November in spite if the direction potUS Imam-a wants.
---
Take a look at the pictures of Melanie Oudin and Brett Favre in the L-E Sports Section today. If you shaved Favre's beard, could you tell who was who?
---
Don't know who the writer of the "Keep an eye on this guy" section on Mississippi State's Chad Bumphis is (or should be "was"), but how do we know where Bumphis will be from week-to-week since the writer puts him in a Rebel's uniform as well.
---
Just a few days ago, a fellow BCers and immense UGA fan told me how proud he was of the few arrests of Bulldog players he was; I suggested it may be because of so many in the past, he'd become desensitized to the ones this past year. The L-E says the same thing.

Glenn Beck is in Washington speaking for all of us who care about the future of this country. Please pray for him.
---
What a story; what a memory. The season has ended for our Northern LL champions. District, State, and Regional championships, and they beat both teams playing today for a spot in the US Championships. Well done, young men, and we'll look forward to following you in the future levels of Columbus baseball.
---
Speaking of baseball...do you think there are 12 potential jurors in Washington, DC qualified to carry Roger Clemens's jock strap? Do I think he did wrong...yes; do I think it was of concern of the US Congress to investigate..."No!
---
I do have one question to ask concerning a play in the Little League game yesterday. A Hawaiian runner collide with Northern's catcher on a play at the plate. Why wasn't the Hawaiian player called 'out' instead of being credited with a run? Little League rules specifically say that a runner MUST slide when a play is being made at any base.
---
BTW, I'm pulling for Texas today. If Hawaii wins, everyone might expect potUS Imam-a to throw out the first ball, and he's already struck out with the Boy Scouts, Memorial Day, and the National Day of Prayer.
---
Online headline/story: "Kristi Noem, Rising GOP Star, Under Fire for 20 Speeding Tickets * Russ Levsen, a senior adviser to (incumbent) Herseth Sandlin, blasted Noem for her driving record and said it speaks to the kind of leader she will be. "Kristi Noem thinks the rules don't apply to her," Levsen told the Rapid City Journal. "She repeatedly breaks the law, fails to appear in court and has multiple warrants for her arrest issued. The last thing we need in Congress is a politician who ignores the court dates and racks up arrests warrants." -- Wrong! The last thing we "NEED in Congress" is anyone who will vote for a bill he hasn't read!!!
---
Cuba is about to let foreign investors to get 99 year leases on government land to encourage development, and start allowing Cubans to start their own businesses for profit. Even the communist are abandoning the business plan potUS Imam-a has been so intent of emulating.
---
Recent leaked disclosures of past government scandals has to make you wonder how open Government Motors and Fiasco/Chrysler will be about announcing recalls in a timely manner.
---
L-E headline/story: "CSU’s fall enrollment sets record * “We made a strong push this year to attract more academically qualified students,” (Dr Timothy) Mescon said. “Retention statistics prompted us, with faculty encouragement, to move up our application deadline to June 30 and to raise our minimum academic qualifications for entry" -- Hope this means there is a reduction of the 1000+ "CSU" students who were enrolled in remedial classes at Columbus Tech. That was a hard to believe statement from last year.
---
L-E headline: "Bernanke says Fed has powers to help economy, but delays action" -- Yeah...like what's he going to do...pay banks to take more money they are printing so they have more they aren't going to lend out?
---
It's not really a question about the Northern LL team missing school to play baseball; it's a question about why the MCSD makes children go to school in August versus being able to play and swim.
---
A L-E 'soundoff': " I think its hilarious that when faced with 70 percent opposition nationally against building a mosque at ground zero that the Democrats change the name from mosque to “cultural center." -- No, it's a sad statement of how DIM/DUMBs manipulate their voters.
---

Online headline/story: "Carter Helps Secure Release of American Jailed in North Korea * Gomes had been arrested in January, accused of crossing into North Korea illegally from China." -- What's the purpose? Do the DIM/DUMBs think it will spur Calderon to come up and negotiate release of illegal aliens who have been jailed here? Not going to happen.
---
If the latest housing and retail sales aren't definitive enough for liberals to understand the economic trend is tanking, the fact that gas prices are spiking down the week before Labor Day should convince even the liberalist of liberals.
---
What was Hannity thinking when he advertised he was going to go one-on-one with Jerry Springer on this show Thursday night. Hannity couldn't honestly think that I would watch, could he?
---
I heard a DIM/DUMBorat strategist on Fox News Channel quoting scripture about judging/being judged, and it was about a human rights report potUS Imam-a sent to the UN tattling on US. Will DIM/DUMBs ever cease to stop trying to win back the extreme leftist factions of their party?
---
Online headline: "Film Student Accused of Stabbing Man (cab driver)" -- The libs are having a major melt down that one of their own did this and they cannot connect the T.E.A. Parties with him.
---
Online headline: "Was Darwin Wrong? An Alternative Theory Emerges" -- This is not "The Year/Week of the Liberal". The 'Summer of Recovery' is a scam, one of their own assaulted a Muslim cab driver, and now Darwin has been exposed.
---
Thinking about the arguments liberals use "for" building the 'Hamas-que' in the shadows of Ground Zero, will those same liberals accept their own arguments as to prayer in schools and the 10 Commandments being displayed in government buildings/court houses? How about nativity scenes in town squares or schools?
---
From the L-E report of the political forum last night, two things seem apparent: none of the Mayoral candidates exhibited the kind of strong leadership we need, and Roy Barnes apparently had nothing to say, didn't think Columbus was important enough to show up, or figures he has Columbus wrapped up.
---
L-E headline/story: "Iraq combat mission comes to end, but U.S. may stay past ’11 * The American mission is far from over, however, and it may have to be extended, according to former senior U.S. officials, foreign diplomats and private analysts" -- Looks like potUS Imam-a has either flown the "Mission Accomplished" banner too soon, or he's just broken the last campaign promise left standing.
--
L-E headline/story: "Fish knocks paddler out of water during river race * The fish flew as Pennington was trying to return to shore to repair his kayak" -- Does anyone know exactly where Rahm Emanuel was at that time?

It's more than just ironic that the mayor's plan (for Parks & Recreation being the main recipient of the Public Safety slush fund) uncovered that the Parks & Recreation Department had already set up its own slush fund.

We didn’t know if he was trying to secretly tape me or to provoke me. We just knew he was not a happy camper. He wanted to make trouble for Jamey (Crozier).” -- What an attitude for a Congressman! Crozier had already made trouble for himself, and Bishop was not interested in correcting/soothing the situation. Fire Bishop and Crozier goes, too!

Looks like CB&T didn't pick a a name that fully compliments their new East Columbus branch. It should be called the CB&T Banking and Booking Center. Wonder if your fingerprint needed for check cashing will go directly to police files?

From above: Wonder if the bank that gets the City of Columbus' banking business next time will also get to use this banking facility?
---
L-E headline: "Will tough times trigger corporate art selloff?" -- Hmmm, aren't we glad we got the library's art purchase stopped, but what about the Viagra Falls sculpture at the Rivercenter? Since it ended up being funded by private dollars (versus Water Works dollars - ours), who actually owns it?

For the record: In 1985, I bought my first home PC, It was DOS based with a Tandy GUI (Graphic User Interface for you newbies) that was better than the first two version of Windows. Yesterday, I 'upgraded' (yeah, right) my notebook that came with Vista to Windows 7. Yesterday, I also vowed never to buy another Microsoft product. After 25 years of working through Microsoft glitches and reboots, my next computer will be an Apple, and if Apple ever offers an OS that will work on my existing computers, I will throw Microsoft out of my life.
---
From the 'it's not one world' department: " A 50-year-old Sri Lankan woman who worked as a maid for a large family in Saudi Arabia for five months was allegedly tortured by some of the family members hammering nails into her body, doctors said." -- How do we assimilate this culture into ours without ruining ours?
---
Online headline: "FBI Hunts for Suspected Wisconsin Campus Bomber 40 Years Later" -- He ought to be easy to find; sounds like he's someone potUS Imam-a would have him on his payroll.
---
With the "Summer of Recovery" being shot down with every economic report coming from sources other than Robert Gibbs and VPOTUS Biden, no wonder potUS Imam-a and Congress is taking extended vacations. Wish they'd all do us a bigger favor and stay on vacation until the next Congress takes its seat in January of 2011.
---
Wish Chuck Williams was back in town to write the articles concerning the Parks&Rec scandal. Even though his current assignment is writing about Little League, his work is in a much higher 'league' than any other writer at the L-E.
---
Isn't it ironic that the only house have a good month is the one potUS Imam-a is renting on his Martha's Vineyard vacation?
---
Maybe this is the year that liberals will realize that when their choice of candidates get elected, it only proves how bad their concept of how America should work is.
---
L-E headline: "Mexican drug cartel suspected in massacre of 72 " -- "Suspected"?
---
The L-E's "Dandy Dozen" must be outstanding. I cannot imagine it being better when a player from an area high school doesn't make the group even though it's announced that he's been signed by a SEC team on the same day as the "Dandy Dozen" is announced. Well, it is South Carolina and not UGA, Alabama, or Auburn.

The Breakfast Club - August 25, 2010
Looking at the quietness of the mayoral race candidates, it looks like the main two choices will be Mother Teresa Obamalinson or Paul Oh-Nolson (and which one is not a DIM/DUMBorat)
---
Mother Teresa Obamalinson bothers me the most. After her lead in trying to get a referenDUMB passed where tax dollars would be used to build houses at inflated prices in bad neighborhoods in Midtown, how can we let her sink her teeth into the 2 slush funds created by the last LOST tax?
---
Online headline/story: "The 15 Most Bedbug-Infested Cities in the US" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought this was about the campaign itinerary of Bill Clinton's first election...ooops, it does follow pretty darn close.
---
Speaking of which, the election results of the 15 cities named in the story ALL suppoted potUS Imam-a in 2008.
---
Online headline: "Newly Discovered Oil-Eating Microbe Flourishing in Gulf" -- Just as with the sparrow, God provides; God works in mysterious ways
---
The revelation of the greed and deceit within the Parks and Recreation Department management is certainly nothing to be proud of for the City, but exposure by our own City auditors is certainly something we can be thankful for. Who can imagine how much more damage would have occurred in the future if this situation went on undetected/unaddressed, and had become exposed only by some tragic happening? Thanks, too, to Chuck Williams bringing it to the public forum.
---
I'm writing this last night, but will still be livid when I send it out this morning.
One of the Little League World Series announcers was talking about the Mexican team being from Nuevo Laredo, just across the border from Laredo, Texas. He then added that 4 of the Mexican players attend school in Texas. Excuse me.... How could Little League Inc let this go uninvestigated! Children from Phenix City cannot play ball in Columbus Little Leagues (and vice versa), and children from Phenix City would pay dearly to attend school in Columbus. I think the international reach of LL Baseball Inc is wonderful, but this stinks!!!
---
Online story: "BEIJING (Aug. 24) -- A massive traffic jam in north China that stretches for dozens of miles and hit its 10-day mark on Tuesday stems from road construction in Beijing that won't be finished until the middle of next month, an official said." -- Who'da guessed our traffic engineer was moonlighting in China?
---
Online headline: "Jimmy Carter Traveling to N. Korea to Try to Free American" -- Hmmm, wonder if anyone is thinkin 'prisoner swap/photo-op'?
---
An extremely worthy L-E "soundoff": : Jimmy Carter is going to North Korea to seek release of an American who crossed into North Korea illegally. The man was sentenced to 8 years at hard labor. In the U.S. we turn our head at illegals." -- This is hitting the nail on the head.

Looks like the city is in a real fund raising mode. First was the hugely successful set-up on the JR Allen Parkway, and now they are sitting radar it the bottom of River Road just passed River Road School an hour+ after the kids have started classes in order to take advantage of suburban drivers thinking the speed zone times have expired, but the signs/flashing lights just haven't been changed for the new times school starts.
---
Wow! Sean Connery is now oo80, and still the true James Bond.
---
The unreal 10 day traffic jam in China has been caused by the transition from a communist based economy to a capital based economy. potUS Imam-a should take a lesson from the Chinese.
---
L-E's " Q U O T A B L E": “As a rule we disbelieve all the facts and theories for which we have no use.” Gustave Flaubert French author (1821-1880) -- Ah! The inspiration of the DIM/DUMBorat campaign digest, "The Liberal Manifesto for DIM/DUMBies"; it is no coincidence Flaubert happened to be French.
---
While the pitcher and catcher are responsible for masking their signal system for calling for what pitch should be thrown, a runner on second base could cause more damage by signaling what he's seen to the batter. A batter thinking the pitcher is going to throw a curve ball may not be prepared enough to dodge a high and inside fast ball if the signs are misread by the runner on second base.
---
L-E headline: "U.S. investigates Jeep gas tank fires" -- Since the bailout/takeover, isn't this investigation more like Layers or Doctors or Congresspersons investigating themselves?

A Monday L-E headline: "Little League World Series: Trip to Williamsport 'a blessing' for one family " -- Hmmm, personally, I think it's a blessing for all the team families, and all of Columbus.
---
Welcome to HELL-thScare. Insurance companies won't be able to drop/deny you coverage but the government can cut Medicaid.
---
Nissan is back with it's obnoxious "Mr Opportunity" so why would Lexus want to make a campaign around "Golden Opportunity"? They aren't even related .....
---
Another neat thing about the Little League World Series is that the world sees how welcome the US makes immigrants/visitors feel when they enter our country legally.
---
I'm not mad that Muslims want to build a mosque in New York; I'm mad at the intolerance of the Imam who wants to build "Hamas-que".
---
A TV ad for Chantix, an anti-smoking prescription drug, warns that you may have suicidal thoughts after you stop taking them, but warns you to stop taking them if you entertain suicidal thoughts....doh?
---
Our MCSD board must feel like pikers compared to the Los Angeles California school system. LA just opened a school that cost $578,000,000.00 (over half a BILLION), and California has sent Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, and Waters to Washington to tell us how to run our state/business/lives.
---
Has anyone in the potUS Imam-a administration even thought about how many more jobs there'd be in America for Americans if the illegal aliens couldn't slip in to take those jobs?
---
Only in California.... online headline/story: "'Pain Beam' to Be Installed in LA Jail * Called the Assault Intervention Device, it uses millimeter waves to heat the top layer of skin, causing an intense burning sensation that forces the person being targeted to move away immediately. * The Pentagon this year did send a truck-mounted version of the weapon to Afghanistan for testing, but it was sent home without ever being used." -- How could the military use it after the California delgation to Congress chastised the use of 'waterboarding'? Of course, the CIA could use this since California has approved it.
---
Online headline: "Fed Loses Appeal and Must Disclose Information on Bailouts" -- Finally! After all, potUS Imam-a campaigned on being the most transparent administration ever, but it's taking an activist judge to make him...ironic, isn't it?
---
In the L-E's "Today in History" column: "In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the Communist Control Act, outlawing the Communist Party in the U.S." -- Of course, Congress was DIM/DUMBorat run, and nothing was done, and the Communist Party runs a candidate for the US presidency every 4 years. You know, I think they won in 2008.

Online headline: "Iran Unveils 'Ambassador of Death'" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought maybe Ahmandine-JIHAD had traded something for Joe Biden.
---
Online story: "In western Mexico, police found the body of a U.S. citizen inside a car along the highway between the Pacific resorts of Acapulco and Zihuatanejo. * A report from Guerrero state police said the man was shot to death and had identification indicating he was from Georgia." -- So much for the slick ad campaign Mexico is running to get tourist from America to come back.
---
L-E story: "The city of Columbus will use $1 million in stimulus funds to install an intelligent transportation system along Wynnton Road." -- Don't you know this will be waste of another $1,000,000.00 dollars...anything government initiated based on government's definition of 'intelligent' is an oxymoron.
---
Dr Harold Jarrell....what a powerful and gentle beacon of light. We'll miss him, but we'll not forget his impact on Columbus.
---
The White House spinmeisters were quick to say potUS Imam-a prays daily; what they didn't say was whether he prayed 6 times a day to the East.
---
Online headline: "Tropical Storm Frank Forms Off Mexico's Coast" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought maybe Massachusetts Representative Barney Frank had gone on a sputtering tirade out on Kerry's yacht.
---
L-E story: "HOWZ-E-MADAD, Afghanistan — As Lt. Col. Peter N. Benchoff prepares for an assault next month into the birthplace of the Taliban, he doesn’t sugarcoat the hurdles his troops face in this crucial swath of southern Afghanistan. " -- This makes 'WikiLeaks' obsolete! What military strategy calls for putting 'the plan' in the newspaper? Does Benchoff & the Associated Press believe the Taliban cannot read English? Can I buy a front row ticket to watch? Every one pray for our troops who have to carry out Benchoff's orders.

L-E's "Thought for Today, “I know the world is filled with troubles and many injustices. But reality is as beautiful as it is ugly. ---
A L-E "soundoff": "To the people concerned about the All Stars missing school, get over it. The best lessons in life are not learned in school." -- And after the last round of CRCT test scores, what are they learning in school anyway?
---
Bet the White House said a prayer yesterday when Saudi Arabia was knocked out of contention in the Little League World Series. Now Hawaii won't be playing Saudi Arabia so potUS Imam-a won't have to reveal his preference of praying for the West or praying to the East.

Online headline: "Bedbugs Found in NYC Landmark" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought this was another DIM/DUMBorat Convention scandal.
--
Online headline: "Study Says California Due for Big Quake" -- Pelosi, Schwarzenegger, Algore, Feinstein, Waters and Waxman already live there. Who else can they add?
---
Phenix City talks about it, but doesn't really try to either shake or capitalize on it's "lurid" past. With former WWII veterans finishing their life spans, pretty soon, no one will be left to 'remember' how it was 60-70 years ago, so the legend/truth will die, butt there are two things PC could do now to speed up such change. One would be to simply change its name to West Columbus, AL, but the best would be to seek annexation into Columbus, GA.
---
Went into Peachtree Mall last evening for the first time in quite a while. Can a tattoo parlor be an expected store front in the near future; maybe a wig shop or two?
---
A story is circulating indicating that a gay bar will be opened next to the Hamas-que at Ground Zero catering to gay Muslims. What a patron's dilemma, to stay too long and get 'stoned', or to leave and get STONED to death.
---
It's sorta ironic that the path to racial harmony is loaded with 'f'-words: Forgive, Forget, Find Friendship, and Future Focus.
---
From a fellow BCer: I have often wondered why it is that the conservatives are called
the "right" and the liberals are called the "left." By chance I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible: Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)
"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool inclines to the left." -- Any wonder the left wants to keep the Bible out of our schools and other government buildings?
---
BTW, I've had 3 people in the past week ask if I minded that they rebroadcast The Breakfast Club to their other friends. Feel free to do so, or have them e-mail me directly, and I can add them to the list.
---
A L-E "soundoff" that caught my eye: "Let’s all chip in and pay for a better qualified traffic engineer in Columbus, shall we? " -- Huh? You mean there has been a set of qualifications all along?
---
L-E headline: " Iran starts nuclear reactor, says intent peaceful " -- Hmmm if the liberal media can believe Ahmandine-JIHAD on this, why don't they believe it when he says his goal in life is to annihilate Israel?
---
From Dusty Nix's relective on the late James J. Kilpatrick's affinity for language correctness: "...I’m resigning myself to the likelihood that this is a lost cause — is the use of “they” or “their” as pronouns for singular antecedents: “Anybody who wants to see the show should make their (AAARGH!) reservations early.” -- Tis a dilemma for sure, but only because the politically correct elitist revoked the time honored rule of referring to ordinary "genderization" of words as 'male' (with the noted exception of men's toys such as boats and cars being referred to as "she'). Everyone understood, and the language rules were honored. You probably have noticed my use of "he/she" to bridge that situation

Does Froma Harrop just ignorant of facts of how an economy actually works, or does Robert Gibbs write her column for her?

With former WWII veterans finishing their life spans, pretty soon, no one will be left to 'remember' how it was 60-70 years ago, so the legend/truth will die, butt there are two things PC could do now to speed up such change. One would be to simply change its name to West Columbus, AL, but the best would be to seek annexation into Columbus, GA.

The Breakfast Club - August 21, 2010
Online headline: "Food Seized From Rodent-Infested Ga. Warehouse" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought there had been a raid on a Roy Barnes election fund raiser.
---
Online headline: "UN Links Pakistan Floods to Climate Change" -- Next the UN will probably indict Algore for creating Climate Change.
---
Online headline: "Local (Manhatten Island) Strippers Totally OK With Ground Zero Mosque" --Talk about ignorance....what will they say when Muslims throw stones rather than $1.00 bills at them?
---
Online story: " Simply stated, the moon is shrinking. * According to a recent scientific study, including images taken by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or the LRO, the lunar surface has revealed a series of geologic faults that weren't seen before." -- Well, I was wondering what Algore was going to take on since his Global Warming scam has been busted.
---
Interesting development: Government's Health Insurance for pre-existing conditions have caveats galore. One is you must have been uninsured for the prior 6 months; another is that you have to provide 'proof of citizenship'... even in Arizona!
---
Online headline: "Kenya Calls Obama Aunt Case an 'Embarrassment" -- and so do I! Well, then why is she still here after Candidate Imam-a stated indisputably that 'we are a nation of laws'.
---
Online headline: " 10 Big Retailers Closing Stores" -- This is real economic data versus the spin from the White House. Of special note is A & P closing 25 stores and Winn-Dixie closing 30 stores. These are grocery stores, and people aren't eating any less than they normally do.. go figure.

Do you wonder that the British Healthcare system had anything to do with providing a non-oncologist to evaluate the cancer situation of the Lockerbie bomber? Aren't you excited that HELL-thScare is coming? NOT!
---
With GICC sprigging it's greens with a form of Bermuda, can you imagine how fast putts will be putting downhill/downgrain from upper to lower levels on 2, 3, 8, 15, and 18?
---
Online headline/story: "Sen. Al Franken's Minneapolis Condo Hit by Bullet * Franken and his wife discovered damage to a double-paned window at the front of the residence when they returned home from a trip Tuesday. * Investigators have not named a suspect or said if they believe the senator was specifically being targeted." -- Obviously this was a random 'shot' as obviously there was no one in the shooter's sights. Maybe it was a DIM/DUMBorat staged happening; no conservative would have wasted a shot to waste a window. Besides, does anyone believe Franken can get re-elected the next time he runs?
---
L-E headline: "Barnes wins support from state’s largest teacher group" -- Barnes should get arrested on one of two charges: 1 - Blatant bribery for his campaign ads/promises for teachers' votes, or 2 - Failure to keep said promises if he gets elected.
---
L-E "headlie" : " Iran set to begin fueling first civilian nuclear power reactor" -- What on Earth would inspire a headline editor to include "civilian" in this? It's purely governmental!
---
From above story: " WASHINGTON —Iran is set to cross a new nuclear threshold, but it’s one the Obama administration isn’t worried about." -- I know, and that is what worries the hell out of me! The writer, JONATHAN S. LANDAY of McClatchy, has to be a candidate to replace White House Press Handler, Robert Gibbs; anyone who could pass of tripe in such a benign manner is the perfect potUS Imam-a spokesperson!
---
L-E headline/story: "2 arrested in horse theft case * Limestone County (Alabama) Sheriff’s officers arrested two suspects in connection with the incident — Sara Mitchell, 21, and an 18-year-old." -- Excuse me, but 18 year olds are considered adults, not minors. Why was the 18 year old not identified... touchy name?
---
L-E story: "BOSTON — Federal immigration officials say a three-month operation in four New England states has led to the arrest of 47 people suspected of being gang members or having ties to gangs. * The suspects were detained in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island. * The operation targeted foreigners and those born abroad. They will appear before immigration judges, but their criminal status renders them removable from the country within 10 business days." -- Two things: If this had happened in Arizona, it would be a worst-case scenario of 'racial profiling', and secondly, aren't all immigrants here illegally criminals?
---
Have you noticed that when it's mandatory for potUS Imam-a to address personal items in his life, he sends out his spinmeisters rather than speaking directly to the American citizens?
---
Story in the L-E: "New Central Missionary Baptist Church is having its Pastor’s Aide Ball at 6 p.m. today at the St. Luke United Methodist Church Ministry Center, 11th Street at Third Avenue. Dress is formal or semi-formal. Call 334-298-7797 to order tickets. " -- Doesn't this strike you as 'strange'? Baptist having a "Ball" at a Methodist facility? I thought Baptist - and I am one q;-) - weren't suppose to dance...
---
All those so concerned with social justice should be protesting in Mexico City about Mexico's social problems being the reason why so many of it's legal citizens are illegally coming into our country.
---
It's kind of ironic that those Americans who hate our country are defending foreigners who illegally enter ours because they would rather be in America than their own country. Why can't we have some sort of 'prisoner exchange'? We could swap our whiny DIM/DUMBorats for folks who would love to be Americans!

The Breakfast Club - August 20, 2010
Online headline: "Feds Indict Roger Clemens for Perjury" -- What a mixed message the government sends. The Feds can indict, even convict a sports hero such as Roger Clemens for something he could have pled the "5th" for, yet will not even look at politicians who lie to get elected, and lie when they swear to uphold the Constitution.
---
I hope the Feds try Clemens in Boston. After seeing Blagojevich basically escape unscathed by the hands of a Chicago jury, I'll bet the Feds can't find one Boston juror to who'd find Clemens guilty of anything.
---
Today, the $1.00 coin of President Buchanan is relesed. In Buchanan's offficial White House biography, it say, "Buchanan grasped inadequately the political realities of the time.". Hmmmm, Will it be plagiarism or purely coincidental that the official White House biography will repeat the exact statement for potUS Imam-a?
---
From a L-E story: "There is good news with unemployment claims, however. * While 68,000 laid-off staffers filed for benefits for the first time in July — a 5 percent jump from June — there were 27.6 percent fewer claims from July of 2009, when nearly 94,000 initial claims were filed." -- Only in the mind of a liberal could this be 'good news'. Did the writer poll the 68,000 to see whether they thought it was 'good news'?
---
Can you believe Barney Frank? Now he says Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac 'have to go'. Guess he wants to bury his past. Now, who's more deserving of a Federal indictment of lying to Congress, Roger Clemens or Barney Frank?
---
Speaking of Barney Frank, Frank could be the defense tactic Congressman Rangel uses to avoid expulsion. After Frank's scandals concerning Congressional page boys, and his involvement with Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, Rangel has a legitimate argument that he is more ethical than Frank, so why isn't Frank being brought up on ethics charges?
---
From a fellow BCer:
After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:
'Let me see if I've got this right.
'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning.
'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.
'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job.
'You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams.
'You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.
'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.
'You want me to do all this and then you tell me. . . I CAN'T PRAY? -- Regardless of whether this is 'true' or not, it is the truth.

L-E headline: "New pools might not get any use until next summer" -- Yeah, and then they are only going to be open for the two weeks between the start of summer and the start of school... at least it seems that way.
---
Who are the Islamist going to name their Ground Zero Hamas-que after.... potUS Imam-a?
---
L-E headline: "Smoking scenes on the decline in top movies " -- Ooops, my bad. Thought the movie industry was cleaning up the movie ratings do parents would not be shocked when taking their children to PG movies.

The Breakfast Club - August 19, 2010
The number one issue I see with potUS Imam-a is that he has no respect, no reverence for the office.
---
L-E headline: "AP: Poll shows Obama earns lowest marks yet; economy cited" -- Pretty soon, even the McClatchy and CNN Polls will match the Fox News Polls.

L-E headline/story: "A year after bankruptcy, GM plans stock sale * The company said it had no plans to pay dividends on its common stock and future dividends would be determined by its board of directors. * Francis Gaskins, president of IPOdesktop.com, said GM's decision to sell preferred shares rather than common stock is a sign that it is having trouble attracting interest from investors and felt the need to sweeten the offering with the preferred dividends. "Only a company that's not strong would do that," he said. "It's a tip-off that the investment community needs something special." -- To put it in perspective, would you want the government to be your main partner? Would you prefer to buy stock in the US Postal Service or UPS/FED-EX?
---
Online headline: "22 Cities like Utica, N.Y., prime for a double-dip recession" -- Hmmm, wonder why the article didn't mention which party the mayors are?
---
Will the desecration of Ground Zero ever be known other than 'the Hamas-que'?
---
Where are new York Senators Schumer and Gillibrand on the issue of building 'the Hamas-que'?
---
Online headline: "Obama Says Economy Is Coming Back Slowly" -- Yeah, in spite of potUS Nero-Imam-a's attempts to sabotage it completely!
---
How can a judges say falsifying a military record or medal is not criminal? Not only is the liar a miserable creep, it demeans the valor of those who earned it; especially those who were honored posthumous.
---
Did you see where San Francisco has banned the use of pictures of guns in advertising? An ad for Will Ferrell's new movie in which he has a gun in both hands has been redrawn with him holding cans of pepper spray. Wonder what San Francisco will require of a Dirty Harry marathon, that Harry carry a .45 magnum slingshot?
---
An online story listed 25 companies accounting for 700,000 'lost jobs' since the recession started. Of note is that the only government entity making the list was the Postal Service, and let's be open...Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac & Congress have been the largest contributors to job losses in the private sector, and the growth of government is not only a millstone on the recovery, it's totally insensitive to be growing at all.
---
L-E headline/story: "Booker T. Washington Apartments may be redeveloped * The (Columbus Housing Authority) board delayed action on adding $230,000 to an existing contract with the Boulevard Group, a consulting firm that would write the grant if the Housing Authority pursued federal help to redevelop the area. * Planning for the next step will take at least six months. At a cost of some $250,000 to $300,000, the Housing Authority hopes to apply for a grant next year or in 2012." -- Don't you wonder why it would cost $300,000.00+/- to apply for a grant? Wouldn't a phone call to Congressman Bishop's office be cheaper?
---
Online headline: "Grand Prince of All Russia' Sues to Get Kremlin Back" -- You know, if he filed it in California, he'd at least win through the US 9th District, and have 4 votes on the US Supreme Court.
---
L-E headline: "Quality-of-life cancer care extends life expectancy, study shows * Patients lived 3 months longer than those with only standard cancer care" -- While life is indeed precious, do you think 3 months is justifiable for the additional costs? What do you think HELL-thScare evaluators will think if they were deciding about you or your parent?
---
L-E "soundoff": "Please tell me those baseball all-stars are doing school work while they are out-of-town. I’d hate for them to be missing out on anything they should be learning. " -- They are learning. They are learning what fun it is to be living the dream of every child who has stepped out on a baseball field, and they are learning how stupid it is for our schools to be opened before Labor Day.
---
A worthy "soundoff": "If we have freedom of religion anywhere, any place, any time, why do we not have prayer in school, prayer at ball games?" -- Amen.

I'm surprised at the reaction I've gotten about people not knowing Nathan Deals's daughter being married to a Columbus man (in fact, a cousin of my wife). Maybe y'all might have seen her perform at the Springer; most recently at "Patsy Cline". Yes, that was her.
---
Picture caption in the L-E: "U.S. Torture Program Probed" -- Some liberal bloggist will read this and accuse the CIA of torturing with probes.
---
L-E headline: "Medicare drug plans to see modest premium hike" -- Who'd a guessed... How can Social Security deny a 'cola' based on too little inflation to justify it, but Medicare can raise premiums because of inflation?
---
L-E headline/story: " Federal court says state’s road crosses are violation * SALT LAKE CITY — The 14 crosses erected along Utah roads to commemorate fallen state Highway Patrol troopers convey a state preference for Christianity and are a violation of the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court said Wednesday." -- Whoever initiated this case must have a miserable (if any at all) life! Hopefully, the US Supreme Court will rule correctly, but if not, Arlington is probably the (_@_)'s next cause.
---
With the exposure the Northern LL team will bring to Columbus via it's nationally televised baseball games from Williamsport, Council could more easily justify paying the parents for their trip expenses than paying for the Parks&Rec travel teams, but they won't because it's not Council's place to do so with taxpayer dollars. Support the team at www.northernll.org .
---
L-E headline: " AP Poll: BP image recovering from spill" -- Looks like 'big oil' has a better reputation than potUS Imam-a or Congress. Guess it's because people can actually see good results.
---
The UAR is wanting to ban the use of Blackberry 'smart phones'.... hey, doesn't potUS Imam-a use a Blackberry? In fact, didn't he make a pretty big scene about not giving it up? So much for his bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia.

The Breakfast Club - Aug 18, 2010
"potUS Nero-Imam-a" shall be the new definitive name for the president
---
Online story: "(Aug. 17) -- A federal jury in Chicago today convicted ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich on just one count but deadlocked on 23 others, including the allegation that he tried to sell President Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat." -- Even the juries in Chicago are corrupt....
---
Online headline: "Obama Considers Easing Cuba Travel Restrictions" -- Let's just "HOPE" the "CHANGE" is limited to one-way tickets...
---
From online story: "(Aug. 17) -- Here's something President Barack Obama's political advisers missed when planning a fundraiser in west Los Angeles: Beware the power of unintended consequences.' -- That's nothing new...every DIM/DUMBorat bill or executive order has unintended consequences; that's why most are passed 2 or more years before the bills take effect so everyone who voted for it has time to point the finger of blame at BUSH!
---
Addendum to above: In GA, particularly in education bills, local taxpayers get saddled with the unfunded mandates the House/Senate passes. They then campaign on the new laws that they have passed 'for the children" but they forget to add that 'the children" will still be paying for these unfunded mandates long after the parents die.
---
Read the story in the L-E about 2 seventeen year old boys and 2 seventeen year old girls being robbed after they spent the night together 'overnight camping". Wonder which house the parents were told the girls were spending the night at?
---
Online story: "Recent revelations of exorbitant salaries paid to top officials in the Southern California city of Bell are only the latest developments in a long-running saga of corruption embroiling a string of cities along the Los Angeles River. " -- I'm willing to bet there's not one Republican mayor in these towns...any takers?
---
Online headline/story: "Suicide Bomber Kills 61 at Iraqi Army Post * A bomber struck as people lined up outside a recruiting center. It was the first major attack during Ramadan." -- So much for the sanctity of Ramadan for radical Islamist! Wonder if the bomber was wearing an identifiable Taliban uniform? Yeah, right! Now, explain to me again why we should be tolerant over Islamic culture; particularly the Ground Zero Mosque..
---
L-E headline: "DOT to present compromise road plan at public forum * During the April 13 briefing to the 10-member council, McMurry presented a plan that keeps the 2.5-mile road between Hilton and Seventh avenues near The Medical Center at four lanes but reduces the lane width from 12 feet to 11 feet. It also removes a raised concrete median along the roadway" -- Hmmm, if the DOT had been this co-operative in 1990, we'd have had a nicer 13th Street route from Macon Rd-through-Lakebottom/UPtown and connecting to the 13th Street Bridge to Phenix City, but the DOT had a 'my highway or good-bye way' policy to public input.
---
L-E headline/story: "Carver High School demolition delayed after error discovered in bid * If a new contract is approved, National Salvage will be released from their contract, but the district reserves the right to sue." -- Can we taxpayers sue the MCSD board/system for not requiring/acquiring a "performance bond" from National Salvage for circumstances such as this? It's the taxpayers $223,000.00 the MCSD board flippantly wants to unnecessarily disburse.
---
If any of you have the ear of anyone running for the school board seats, pass along that if they want to get elected (or even re-elected) campaign on 2 issues: changing the school schedule back to the old 'after-Labor-Day' Tuesday start date, and scrapping the new start times for the different school levels; and do it loudly!
---
L-E "soundoff": "School must come first. If sports activities conflict with school, then you do don’t (sic) sign your child up for sports. Those Little League children should be in school." -- Having a hard time figuring out who would actually think... no, 'feel' this way, and have come up with a handful of possibilities. The culprit is either a MCSD board member or MCSD school system executive (or Judy Brouillette). The real embarrassment belongs to the MCSD board who moved the school start dates from the Tuesday after Labor Day to mid-August.
---
Wow! Rosalynn Carter, Roman Polanski, Robert Redford, Timothy Geithner all have birthdays today. What is today, National Liberals Day?
---
L-E headline/story: "Judge drops piracy charges against Somalis * Defense attorneys had argued that their clients were not guilty of piracy because they made no attempt to rob or board the ship. The judge agreed, ruling from Norfolk, Va., that “the government has failed to establish that any unauthorized acts of violence or aggression committed on the high seas constitutes piracy as defined by the law of nations.” -- Talk about judicial activism! Under the judges concept of logic, he'd probably say I couldn't make a case of 'self-defense' if an armed robber confronted me, but I pulled my gun and shot him before the robber got a chance to shoot first!
---
L-E headline: " Sen. John Kerry presses Karzai on corruption" -- Huh? Isn't Kerry the same guy who tried to avoid Massachusetts taxes by docking his new yacht in Rhode Island, and the same guy who filmed himself purported throwing his war medals over the White House fence, but still has them?
---
I hope that Chuck Williams's travel to Williamsport doesn't distract him from the Parks&Rec issue.
---
L-E headline: "Poll: Majority now disapprove of Obama’s performance in job " -- And I bet this is probably a poll of potUS Nero-Imam-a's office staff!
---
If Brett Favre's season doesn't go well, he can get Christmas work as a Department Store Santa if he doesn't shave his beard between now and then.
---
Did I miss it or wasn't there a report of GA retail sales of the comparable weekend of last year's "tax free' holiday weekend?

The Breakfast Club - August 17, 2010
Online headline: "Teen Charged With Vehicular Homicide Sues Victims' Family" -- The girl killed a pregnant woman and herchild, and her father is suing the dead woman's family. Another textbook example, no, the definitive example of why 99% of lawyers give the other 1% a bad name.
---
Thought is was interesting that Warren Buffet's Berkshire-Hathaway stock holdings list didn't include AFLAC or Synovus.

Go, Northern.. In fact, you can help Northern "go" by donating online at www.northernll.org .
---
From a fellow BCer: Did you know that 11 states will issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens? When the DIM/DUMBorats were in charge of the GA House/Senate, they tried to do the same thing, but voters vetoed it at the ballot boxes. That's another reason not to vote "for" a candidate with "D" following his/her name (or a know "D" running in a non-partisan election). That includes Obama-linson for Mayor.
---
From the 'it's not one world' department - Online headline: "Taliban Stone Couple for Adultery in Afghanistan" -- And we have to be tolerant of these quasi-humans?
---
Let's face it, the city's beef with Spring Harbor has brought to light glaring deficiencies in tax assessment and collections. Me, I believe all 'property taxes' placed on corporations are negative. Corporations are not people, and, therefore, corporations receive no benefit from property taxes assessed to run schools and most city programs. Corporations do benefit from police and fire services and protection, therefore all corporations, including our schools and churches and other non-profits entities currently exempt should be assessed a fee for fire and police services. Uptown is a great example of this growing problem. Historic buildings & houses get special assessments, and churches, schools, and non-profit facilities get exemptions, and the growing number is cutting into city revenues, and future revenue growth is severely hampered by this. Just look at the growth of CSU UPtown Campus; every time they take over/build a building, that building is removed from the tax digest, but CSU needs the CFD and the CPD big time.
---
L-E headline: "Hamas leader: Muslims must build mosque near Ground Zero" -- Yeah, Mayor Bloomberg, yeah potUS ZERO-bama, there's nothing but religious freedom involved here...NOT! This is blatant mental terrorism!
---
L-E "soundoff" of note: "Using progressive logic, Democrats who are running for office who do not want Obama to campaign with them must be racist." -- Well said!
---
L-E headline: "Atlanta drug raid victim’s relative to get $4.9 million " -- Two wrongs do not make a right..
---
L-E's "QUOTABLE": “Character is much easier kept than recovered" Thomas Paine British author (1737-1809) " -- Of course, you must have it before any of the options above can be valid; will someone remind political candidates of this BEFORE they make a campaign promise, especially DIM/DUMBorats!

Online story: "Michelle Obama's Poll Numbers Drop After Trip" -- Hmmm, and I actually liked the fact that she didn't bow or apologize to anyone about America now that she is finally proud of US ... Of course, there are other issues...
---
Online headline: "What a $100,000 Bill Looks Like" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought this was an article about what it will cost to buy a week's worth of groceries next year.
---
From a fellow BCer: Bumper sticker - "Everything I ever needed to know about Islam I learned on 9/11"
---
Sylvester Stallone is starring in a movie called "The Expendables". Ooops, my bad; thought it was a documentary on the plight of seniors under HELL-thSCare. Wonder if the sequel will be "The DEPEND-ables"?
---
Walmart's is raising prices, and China is raising wages, and insurance/medicine costs are skyrocketing, but our government insists there're not enough inflation facts or indicators to give a cost-of-living increase to Social Security recipients....yeah, right!
---
Online headline: "Why Marijuana Prices May Head Lower" -- OOOOOH! I've been waiting for this chance to cite Bill Clinton, "It's the economy, stupid!"
---
Last Spring, Carlton Gary was given a temporary reprieve from his death sentence being carried out in order that additional DNA tests be done. It didn't matter that matching pubic hair had been at one of the scenes. The judge should order the execution cycle to begin immediately if the recently ordered retests aren't produced in the next 24 hours.

Don't you know Nike cringes every time Tiger Woods steps up on a tee with his Nike driver in hand?

The Breakfast Club - August 15, 2010
It's hard to understand why Oprah Winfrey would hire Rosie O'Donnell until you think about how Oprah fawned all over potUS ZERO-bama, but she now needs a voice to let potUS know she's no longer happy. Wonder if the show will be called "Rosie the Plumber" (in tribute to "Joe the Plumber")?
---
L-E's Saturday "Thought for Today": “Freedom of speech and freedom of action are meaningless without freedom to think. And there is no freedom of thought without doubt.” — Bergen Baldwin Evans, American author (1904-1978). " -- Liberals! Please note it's talking about freedom to "THINK", not freedom to 'feel'.
---
Online headline: "8 dead, 12 hurt at off-road race in Calif. desert" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought illegal aliens were having a "Pamplona running of the bulls' nightmare re-enactment.

Some guy is planning to reduce each chapter of the Bible down to 140 characters so he can post each on 'Twitter". I think he's full of 'twat'.

Online headline: "Growth May Still Leave 95% of Americans Behind" -- Yeah, because that's the group not making $250K a year, and under potUS ZERO-bama's plan, that will be the new poverty level.
---
Online headline: "Wal-Mart Ranks as Most Generous Company" -- This'll send the White House spinmeisters tailspinning to apologize to the unions!
---
Online article: "Beer prices have gone up regardless of inflation or deflation in the broader economy — and it looks like they’re about to go up even more.If you’re looking for someone to blame, start with Europe." -- Looks like potUS ZERO-bama's next "Joe the Plumber" will be "Joe Six-pack".

What's with Columbus and its standing with the Republican Party? When Perdue won without local support. there were consequences for local projects that took time to straighten out. Now, Columbus supported Handel over Deal. Did you know Deal's daughter is married to a Columbus man? Guess most of Columbus, including crack L-E political analyst (NOT!), Tim Chitwood (whew, you gotta be careful not to make a typo with his name) didn't.

L-E's Sunday "Thought for Today": “Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom.” — Hannah Arendt, American author and philosopher (1906-1975)." -- This is obviously a solution that hasn't crossed the mind of Civil Rights activists..there's no money in it.

L-E headline: "Barnes: Ga. election key to future prosperity" -- Yeah, and in November it's tantamount we rid ourselves of any and all DIM/DUMBorats as we can!

Saw a list (Though haven't verified all personally) being circulated showing Teresa Obama-linson's political donations over the past 10 years. Looks like she supports liberal candidates by a 10X amount over what she gave to conservative candidates. Then, again, she's a lawyer, so what would you expect.
---
May have coined a new word (by typo accident): "Conswervative" - A definition could be a politician who runs on one set of values but lives by another; or a politician who campaigns on conservative fiscal policy, but votes for earmarks and Congressional COLA raises.

The Breakfast Club - August 14, 2010
Telling it like it is:
Today's Breakfast Club has been complied Friday evening due to our early departure to take our Taylor off to college. We'll spend a glorious day in Dahlonega! The ride home will be a little reflective, I'm sure..
---
Hope I'm the first to bring you the news that Northern LL is going back to Williamsport for another shot at another LL World Series title!
---
Online headline: "President Obama Supports 'Ground Zero Mosque' -- Any surprise? Guess it's time for another name adaptation for him... potUS ZERO-bama.
---
In a similar vein: What's wrong with this picture? potUS ZERO-bama couldn't find time to visit Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day, nor attend the 100th Anniversary Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of America, but he can host a Ramadan event at the White House.
---
Online headline: "UPDATE: Low Oxygen Levels Killed 10,000 Fish Off Jersey Shore" -- Guess Snooki was trying to explain to potUS Nero-bama who she "is/was' and sucked all the oxygen out of the air.
---
Instant repeat: "UPDATE: Low Oxygen Levels Killed 10,000 Fish Off Jersey Shore" -- Maybe locating the 'center' will finally reveal the grave of Jimmy Hoffa!
---
An article on Wednesday said student loan debt has eclipsed credit card debt. Do you understand what this means to small business folk? Since potUS Bero-bama has promised to absorb the student loan debt for those who come work for him, then pretty soon all those students will get specifically created jobs in the government. That means 'we' not only have paid for their education, 'we' will be paying for their salaries/benefits, and 'they' will be telling us how 'we' can/must run our businesses.
---
Since the school zone speed 'flashers' are controlled electronically, why haven't they been coordinated with the new start/finish times? i rode through an elementary school zone about 8:50 AM yesterday, and the crossing guards had left and students had been in their classes over an hour.
---
I understand the DIM/DUMBprats are dusting off the 2008 campaign slogan for this fall. You know, the "Hope and Change" one. Only this time they be 'hoping' their leftist friends aren't completely 'changing' their minds.
---
Online headline: "Russia to Fuel Iran's Nuclear Reactor * Move Defies US Calls to Delay Project" -- Well, how's that 'apology tour' working for you now?
---
WTVM9 headline: "Obama signs $600M border security bill into law" -- Ooops, my bad! Thought maybe potUS ZERO-bama was trying to keep those making over $250K from escaping.
---
The Breakfast Club - August 13, 2010
potUS Nero-bama is claiming Iraq, BP, and the auto industry as "missions accomplished" by him. Hmmm, he would get a little more approval if he aimed his 'pointing finger of blame' at the right targets. He should 'blame' Bush for the successes in Iraq, and God for cleaning up the oil spill, and admit he had no involvement with Ford's recovery (though Biden tried to claim that).
---
potUS Nero-bama's spinmeisters are out hot and heavy dispelling any talk about inflation, but they cannot keep Warren Buffet from moving his bond investment to shorter termed ones in protection against rising interest rates.
---
Online headline: "'Eat Pray Love' Author to Lobby for Gay Immigrants" -- Gimme a break! Has he run out of compatibles on e-harmony?
---
Online headline/story: " Ben & Jerry's Making Bogus Claims, Food Watchdog Says * Ben & Jerry's should stop misleading consumers that its ice cream is "all natural" when it is made using synthetic vanilla, corn syrup and alkalized cocoa -- among other ingredients "not found in nature," the Center for Science in the Public Interest said." -- Ooops, my bad! Thought Ben & Jerry were out praising potUS Nero-bama again...
---
Online headline: "Mike Tyson's Bentley Is Up for Sale" -- Wonder if he's taken a bite or two out of the side mirrors?
---
Government Motors' CEO is stepping down after a posted $1.3 Billion profit. Guess he want's out before the smoke starts rising from the cooked books?
---
GM's interim replacement will be the former CEO of XO Communications which he led for 4 years, then 'left' right before it filed for bankruptcy. Other than the fact he "left', what kinda qualifications does he have?
---
L-E headline/story: "Stimulus funds to help needy with energy costs * Will pay for weather stripping, other energy-saving improvements in homes * The program has a maximum budget of $6,500 for weather-stripping windows and doors on each home." -- Wouldn't it be cheaper if the program just paid the utility bills for a year?

The Breakfast Club - August 12, 2010
Jihadist and radical Muslim/Islamic people who have no tolerance for Christians, Catholics, or Jews are no different from the KKK or Nazi's or any other genocidal cultures, so why are we Christians, Catholics, and Jews expected to be tolerant of radical Muslim/Islamist and jihadists? There is no valid argument why the media or our government does not confront and condemn this movement, or the Mosque they are trying to build at Ground Zero!

Have you wondered why the media, especially CNN, CNBC, ABC, NBC, & CBS, have not gone to Colin Powell to get reconfirmation as to how he 'feels' potUS Nero-bama is doing as President and Commander-in-Chief?

"I think this proceeding was a farce." -- Hmmm, another DIM/DUMB faction disappointed in potUS Nero-bama's campaign promises. Maybe he feels that the former al-Qaida cook was discriminated against as a child because he didn't have access to a good cooking school.

Can you imagine this...Harry Reid was elated over the election results Tuesday night; seems a DIM/BUMB won every DIM/DUMB primary race. How do these people ever get elected?

Didn't it strike you as 'funny' to see Sea Island Resort offering a "Georgia citizens only" special daily rate of $395.00 a day? Then you really have to wonder what they charge per day for out-of-state customers. Hmm, and they wonder why they went bankrupt...

Their loyalty is to Party leaders, not the people of their district.

She suggested the grace period last until the middle of the first nine weeks, but the exact time is still to be determined. * The grace period should be long, board member Rob Varner said, because cell phones are so prevalent. * “It feels like to me that we’re trying to hold back the tide,” Varner said. “It’s such a norm. It’s like putting your watch on every day. It’s like telling the wind not to blow.” -- What defeatist attitudes for anyone serving on a board or in charge of shaping students' lives and development. Life and society have rules, and it's a joint venture for parents and schools to prepare their children/students for assimilating into adulthood.

One thing that voters need to keep focused on in November is that no state has done well under the potUS Nero-bama regime, but if a state has a Republican governor, that state has received even less support than other states. On the positive side, Republican led states will recover faster when the DIM/DUMBorat Congress is dismantled.

L-E headline: "Chaos erupts among housing authority applicants; 20 hurt * Authorities say 30,000 — 3 times more than expected — came out to apply for voucher to get assistance with rent " -- Hmmmm.. looks like confirmation of the old DIM/DUMBorat adage that if you promise Paul you're going to rob Peter and give Paul the money, you'll get Paul's vote. Unfortunately, the DIM/DUMBs have recruited too many Pauls, and there aren't enough Peters left to have enough money to pay all the Pauls that have come out of the woodwork.

The Breakfast Club - August 11. 2010
A Fox News anchor teased his next story announcing that a group of 'rowdy' teens broke a rule by singing our "National Anthem'. Our 8th grade daughter looked up from her homework, and said, "In our country?". Then we find out the teens were at the Lincoln Memorial on 'The Mall' in our nation's capital, and Park Rangers had stopped them because our "National Anthem" was not "content neutral". OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! (The Park Rangers, not the teens).

18 months ago, I paid $63.00 for a month's supply of my BP medicine; yesterday, I paid $102.00. Social Security gave no COLA raise this year because SS doesn't find enough inflation to trigger a COLA. Sorry, but a 50% inflationary increase is not hard to miss or ignore.

L-E story: "The DOE’s Weatherization Assistance Program got $5 billion in the stimulus (a.k.a. 'Stim-YOU-LIE') package, which Congress passed in February 2009. A letter writer brought out that the School Zone speed limits expire at 4:00 PM each day, but that is when her student gets out of school. Back to the drawing board; back to basics, back to the traditional year and day schedules.

Illegal entry IS a crime, and deporting such for that BEFORE they commit worse offenses is smart enforcement.

L-E story: " “I thought he was going to kill us,” said Tshaska Nelson, who said he picked up a beer bottle and smacked the robber on the head, spurring him to flee. “I was (angry) because I just did eight hours. I wasn’t scared because I’ve had guns pointed at me before. I used to be a cab driver.” -- Thank goodness he wasn't working for Taco Bell; he'd have been fired for striking a potential customer.

From the "suspicions confirmed" department: "BERLIN — A small Hamburg mosque once frequented by Sept. 11 attackers was shut down and searched Monday because German authorities believed the prayer house was again being used as a meeting point for Islamic radicals. * The Taiba mosque was closed and the cultural association that runs it was banned, officials in the northern German city of Hamburg said. * “We have closed the mosque because it was a recruiting and meeting point for Islamic radicals who wanted to participate in socalled jihad or holy war,” said Frank Reschreiter, a spokesman for the Hamburg state interior ministry." -- What timing! Now 'they' can meet at the Mosque they are trying to build in the shadows of Ground Zero.

L-E "soundoff": " I get tired of driving to Phenix City to buy beer on Sunday. It’s a shame and embarrassment that Georgia is one of three states with such an antiquated law. " -- It's a shame that writer cannot predict his consumption rate, and stock up on enough on Saturday to last him for Sunday. It's also a shame he can't give 'it' a day of rest.
---
L-E story: " “I thought he was going to kill us,” said Tshaska Nelson, who said he picked up a beer bottle and smacked the robber on the head, spurring him to flee. “I was (angry) because I just did eight hours. I wasn’t scared because I’ve had guns pointed at me before. I used to be a cab driver.” -- Thank goodness he wasn't working for Taco Bell; he'd have been fired for striking a potential customer.
---
L-E headline: "Study: Little connection between funds, jobless rate * Formulas used for dispersal don’t reflect current reality for unemployed" -- These are the results of "Stim-YOU-LIE", and Pelosi has recalled the House to pas "Stim-YOU-LIE, TOO"
---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department: "BERLIN — A small Hamburg mosque once frequented by Sept.

The only comment I will make about FLOTUS Nero-bama's Spain trip is that she didn't bow to the King and Queen.

The Breakfast Club - August 9, 2010
L-E story: "On Tuesday, Columbus Council will consider a $397,502 contract for Southeastern Site Development of Newnan, Ga., to build a roundabout at the intersection (of Blackmon & Warm Springs RDS), the first in the city since one guided traffic on Benning Road more than 30 years ago. " -- I remember the euphoria when that chaos was transformed, and get reminded of why every time I go to Hilton Head and have to put up with the traffic circles there. Is Red's memory slipping?
---
From a fellow BCer: " .: A boycott of the ABC television network is encouraged because the executives at ABC news are said to have told reporters they could not wear American flag lapel pins or any other patriotic insignia. The network said that ABC should remain as neutral as possible." -- I would say I was going to join this boycott, but I can't remember the last time I watched an ABC News, or for that matter, anything, on ABC. It would probably have been a football game.
---
Did you notice? Notice that when FLOTUS Michelle and Sasha Obama met the King & Queen of Spain, neither bowed, not even a courtsey. Guess the Spanish Royals aren't Muslim...
---
I guess the only blessing we had during this hot summer is that the mayoral race hasn't heated up. Imagine how hot the politics would be if Paul Olson was debating Teresa Obam-linson?
---
So Taco Bell claims salmonella cause by its vegetables...is that some sort of public relations attempt to lure Moms into thinking they are buying well-balanced meals, or is it simple a case of "Mushro-zuma's Revenge"?
---
Why should GA Power Co be able to spend money (which is an expenses) advertising ways we can save $10.00 a month on our power bills, and at the same time, petition the PSC to raise our power bills $10.00 a month?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Hope is a waking dream.” — Aristotle, Greek philosopher (384 B.C.-322 B.C.). " -- In a 21st Century update, Aristotle would have added, 'but "HOPE & CHANGE' are an ongoing nightmare'.
---
Hmmm, where's Algore?
---
L-E's "Q U O T A B L E": “Force may make hypocrites, but it can never make converts.” William Penn British colonial leader (1644-1718) " -- Obviously Penn was a visionary who foresaw the coming of HELL-thSCare.
---
potUS Nero-bama promised that every penny of the 'stim-YOU-LIE' bill would be kept track of. In fact, he put "Don't Mess With Joe" Biden in charge. Wonder if potUS even knows where Biden is at the moment.

The Breakfast Club - August 8, 2010
Online headline/story: "In Detroit, a Weed Academy Blooms * "Our goal is to make Michigan better and increase the economy," said Perry Belcher, a spokesman for MMA. "And having well-educated people grow the best cannabis possible will help." -- Hmmm..it's no longer a question of WHAT have they been smoking, but one of how much and how many times they've been smoking.
---
Political ad of blogger: Deal, someone with a 'grip' on reality vs someone who has only a 'Handel' on it
---
L-E headline/story: " Schools (sic) chief to report 108 employees to state for test violations" -- Is it any clearer that public schools are failing to send out society adjusted young men & women out into the real world? While this was in Atlanta, we've had moments like this here in Columbus.
---
L-E headline: "Man may never walk again after leap from Chimney Rock" -- Bless his heart, and pray for him and his family, BUT this is how the Darwin Awards perpetuate.
---
L-E story: "ANNISTON (Alabama) — Calhoun County deputies say they won’t pursue child abuse charges against a woman who locked her 12-year-old son out of the house all day. * (Sgt John) Garlick says the Department of Human Resources interviewed the woman, who admitted she locked her son out of their home as punishment but had left him water and a tent. * Garlick says DHR doesn’t consider the punishment a form of child abuse." -- On the other hand, if she had done this to her dog, she'd have been in BIG trouble!
---
How come the scientist who claim a non-secular creation of life, and the effect of man destrying Earth, have become so quiet about how Earth has cleaned up the oil spill in the Gulf? Note to such scientists et al: There's plenty of room in my church for you.
---
L-E story: "HAVANA — A lively and healthy-looking Fidel Castro appealed to President Barack Obama to prevent a global nuclear war in an emphatic speech Saturday that marked his first official government appearance since emergency surgery four years ago." Hmmm, I didn't know Communists like Castro believed in a Messiah...
---
From L-E - "MY OPINION * Ethics trials may help, not hurt, Democrats * by Froma Harrup " -- Liberals! I can't help but laugh and cry at the same time! What a well named 'journolist' as she so often sounds like the "harrumph" of a camel.
---
Why is Dusty Nix applauding the Parks&Rec group for opening on weekends? It's AUGUST! What Dusty should be blasting is the MCSD board for starting school in AUGUST when kids should be swimming in water pools rather than swimming in sweat on school buses!
---
It is time for Orly Taitz to 'go away', but Judge Land set the table for her quest for redemption by raising her fine from $10K to $20K. Her argument would have had less sympathy at the lower figure...that was a cost of doing business; adding to that was simply "piling on'.
---
L-E headline: "A fresh look at Chicago from all sides " -- "A fresh look"? With the likes of potUS Nero-bama and his 40 Tsars, isn't that an oxymoron?
---
---
Online headline/story:.Japan's Economic Stagnation is Creating a Nation of Lost Youth * What happens to a generation of young people when: 1- They are told to work hard and go to college, 2- Many of the jobs that are available are part-time, temporary, or contract labor. 3- These insecure jobs pay one-third of what their fathers earned, 4- Low pay makes living at home the only viable option. -- Substitute America/Obamanation for Japan and the story could be about US!
---
L-E headline/story: "Shoppers rack up savings during Alabama sales tax holiday * “They didn’t have any (tax-free shopping) in Columbus, so we came over here to save a couple of dollars,” the 52-year-old said outside of Walmart.' -- 'Nough said about our crack GA economic advisers figuring they could generate extra tax dollar revenue by eliminating the 'tax free shopping' weekend here.
---
Online headline/story: French President Gets New Wheels * The $235M plane is Sarkozy's answer to Air Force One and includes a cigar room and missile decoy system." -- Hmmm, guess for the missile decoy system, the whole plane turns itself into a "white flag"?
---
From the 'it's not one world' department - Online headline/story: "6 Americans on Medical Mission Killed in Afghanistan * (Aug. 7) -- Six Americans, a Briton and a German all working for a Christian medical charity in Afghanistan have been ambushed and killed by militants, their group said today. * Two Afghan translators were also killed with the eight foreign aid workers – three women and five men – whom they'd been helping. Their bodies were found riddled with bullets next to their abandoned vehicles in a mountainous area of Badakhshan province" -- So much for the compassion of Islam.

L-E headline: "Northern (LL) Produces 'Ugly' Win over S.C." -- There were times a team I was on pulled one out of the hat at the last moment, but there are no 'ugly' wins. There are 'ugly' losses, but every win is a win.
---
L-E's "Today in History" : In 1942, six convicted Nazi saboteurs who’d landed in the U.S. were executed in Washington ; two others were spared . " -- Now that's an illegal immigrant policy that will work! Bet the 'two spared' did not receive welfare, SSI, or Medicaid, either!
