Online headline: Frein charged with murder, could face death" -- "could"?
And we wonder why our crime rate climbs....at a minimum, even in the world of
political correctness, the (_*_) SHOULD face death!
---
Frein is a coward.. why didn't he die with his beliefs rather than drag his
miserable life out.
---
Was glad to see the San Francisco Giants win. It gives me hope that San
Francisco voters might take that euphoria to the polls and give us something in
return..a replacement for Pelosi.
---
You know.. I'm willing to bet that there were Democrats out registering
voters in the riotous aftermath in San Francisco after the Giants won the World
Series.

The retired co-founder of The Weather Channel went on Fox News and
literally announced that the "climate change/global warming" being caused by man
a "myth".. of course the current active management quickly countered with
rebuttal.. DOH! The Weather Channel has it's future based on alarmist
weathercasting bringing in more audience and ad revenues.. it's actually biased
to promote such.
---
HuffPost headline: "Woody Harrelson Wants You To Go Vote For Climate
Action" -- You know.. it is about time we take "climate action".. let's
"globally cool" any movies/entertainment of these self-appointed experts.
---
HuffPost headline: "Ginsburg Was Right: Texas' Extreme Voter ID Law Is
Stopping People From Voting" -- Good grief! That's the purpose of photo-IDs! To
stop people who aren't able to prove they have the privilege to vote! The fact
that it's stopping people, not voters, just shows how needed better voter ID
laws are needed.
---
From above HuffPost story: " A disabled woman in Travis County was turned
away from voting because she couldn’t afford to pay her parking tickets. An IHOP
dishwasher from Mercedes can’t afford the cost of getting a new birth
certificate, which he would need to obtain the special photo ID card required
for voting. A student at a historically black college in Marshall, who
registered some of her fellow students to vote, won't be able to cast a ballot
herself because her driver's license isn't from Texas and the state wouldn't
accept her student identification card." -- If these are the best examples of
Texas people being denied the privilege to vote.. then the law is protecting the
votes of those who are voting. What I want to know is how a person with an out
of state driver's license could even be expected to be able to register to, much
less actually vote in Texas elections.
---
This brings up another contention I've mentioned in the past.. How is it
states, and particularly cities in those states that have colleges/universities,
allow out-of-state students to register to vote, yet demand they pay
out-of-state tuition charges.

Yesterday, I posted that the fed stopping it's purchase program on long
term bonds would likely negatively affect the rate of selling the bonds the
Redevelopment Referendum would issue. Straight from the "Revitalizing Columbus"
answer person.. comes this response: "Revitalizing Columbus Communities Hal -
That is why investors will line up for the bonds - - they are "junk bonds" and
the investors know that. They have higher interest rates and are very
marketable." Good grief, you better check on whether any bond funds your account
manager is buying with your money include these. The basic purpose of buying
"junk bonds" is to "average up" what the bond manager claims as your ROI, but
that's only on paper.. the "junk bonds" will probably decrease in redemption
value wiping out any paper gains on interest.

Know Nothing Nunn's ads seem to have a pattern to them. All the whiners
about Perdue's management are women..The Dollar General ad was pathetic as was
the Pillowtex one. I really wonder if those women were not paid actresses, and
wonder why she didn't have any men in her ads...does she have something against
men?
---
Oh, as if there's the necessity of another reason to vote for Perdue,
remember, a vote for Perdue is a vote against Harry Reid.
---
It's only Friday and the winner of the ugly football uniforms is already
determined..Louisville ought to be embarrassed with what Adidas sent them. You
know.. ugly uniforms are one thing, but wearing ugly uniforms for a "home game"
is a completely different story. Combined with a loss, think about the shock of
alumni leaving with a picture of those ugly uniforms tacked onto the memory of a
loss.

Online story: "A trend seen by prolife activists that frequently engage
college students on campuses nationwide is the growing acceptance of post-birth
abortion, or killing the infant after he or she is born, campus prolife outreach
leaders tell The College Fix." -- Hmmm.. in a way, a very LIMITED way, I
actually agree with the college students who think killing an infant after birth
is OK for parents.. in fact, I think the parents of the college students who
think this owe it to the world to kill their college children. Today would be
good.

WTVM9 story: " The death of a local father of five shows the power of
social media, with multiple comments on Facebook, including one from Columbus
Mayor Teresa Tomlinson. * The Mayor responded, saying: "an outrageous murder
that appears to be drug related. The first murder in 60 days. May it be the last
and may people realize that participating in or even being remotely connected
to a drug culture is a deadly business. I am sorry for your loss * We reached
out to the Mayor's office, she declined to comment any more on Monday's murder
because it is an ongoing investigation." -- Good grief.. Mayor Obamalinson
thinks it's "OK" to comment on Facebook, but not to news reporters because it's
"an ongoing investigation"? Next she'll be telling us her Facebook account was
"hacked" by some right-wing militia nut.

Soapbox moment: L-E story: "For the second straight year, the Muscogee
County School District improved its high school graduation rate * Carver is the
only Muscogee high school whose graduation rate dropped this year, from 61.3
percent in 2013 to 58.6 percent in 2014, now ranking last in the county." --
This is enough to make any new SPLOST request by the MCSD system/board an
outrage. Carver has had more money spent on it in the last 22 years than any
other school, and is the most educationally modern facility in the system, yet
we taxpayers get nothing in return for our money. You would think the MCSD would
have made whatever necessary efforts it took to make the results of rebuilding
Carver an example of what throwing "more money" into education can do.. well, if
this is an example of what we're getting, the MCSD should be cutoff from getting
more.
---
You know...why aren't politicians REQUIRED to put their party affiliation
in/on ads/signs? With the shenanigans and scandals we have come to expect, we
should be warned as to what candidates are likely to do in office if we give'em
our vote.
---
I hate when Democratic politicians campaign on "evil special interests"
when there is no more "evil" a "special interest" as a Democrat politician
trying to convince voters that he/she cares about anything but getting
elected/reelected.
---
Online story: "As many as 20 to 30 former Guantanamo Bay detainees released
within the last two to three years are suspected by intelligence and Defense
officials of having joined forces with the Islamic State and other militant
groups inside Syria" -- "20 to 30"? If that's all that can be accounted for,
does Obamageddon know where any of the other "parolees" are?
---
I really am opposed to allowing voting on Sundays... but it's not based on
any religious aspect.. I just think that during any campaign season, there ought
to be one day a week to "give it a rest".
---
L-E story: "When Calvin “Teddy” Grimes died in the hospital 10 months after
he was gunned down at Third Avenue and Sixth Street in Columbus, his body was
sent not to a crime lab, but to a funeral home. * By the time forensic
pathologist Steven Atkinson got Grimes’ corpse, it already had been embalmed,"
-- Forget the obvious ineptness, I want to know if the hospital also sent the
bill to the funeral home or did it send the bill to the taxpayers?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " To the person responsible for the ridiculous,
slanderous sign at the intersection of Miller and Warm Springs Road, please take
it down. That kind of bitterness will kill you." -- I guess Forrest Gump was
right.. "Stupid is as stupid does". Chances are I would not see this sign or
know what's on it. Chances are that most people would never see this sign or
know what's on it. Now, the sign will reach more people simply because they are
curious enough to drive by and see for themselves. Nice move, Forrest, Jr.
---
L-E story: " CHICAGO — A man whose confession had helped free a death row
inmate has been released from an Illinois prison after he recanted and a judge
vacated his conviction." -- Good grief.. is there anything the Democrats in
Chicago won't do to get out the vote?
---
L-E headline: "Columbus police: Serious crimes up to highest level since
2009" -- See.. if our local elections for Mayor/Council and School Board weren't
held until November, we'd have all this info to make choices with. Mayor
Obamalinson couldn't lie about crime and gangs, and the School Board incumbents
would have to explain the wasteful expenditures associated with Carver.
