When is City Council going to get politically correct and try to rename Columbus "Indigenous".. it makes sense, in a very liberal way, to compliment Muscogee County and the Chattahoochee River. Not sure what Mayor Obamalinson can do about Phenix City, though.
---
Soapbox moment: Why are liberals so intent on changing "Columbus Day" to "Indigenous Day"? Columbus was an Italian leading a contingency of Spanish people to the Americas, opening up trade channels for Europe and establishing the Hispanic footprint in the America's. Besides, there's nothing recorded that shows the date " Indigenous People" first walked a crossed the Bering Strait land bridge.
---
Earlier year, inside reports on the movement of terrorist jihadists in Iraq were shared with Breakfast Club members. With the current conditions worsening, I did want to assure all you BCers that our fellow BCer sharing those reports is now safely working stateside. God is good..
---
Online story: "Author and activist C***** W*** was arrested while demonstrating in Ferguson, Missouri, on Monday * W*** had joined peaceful demonstrations at St. Louis University on Sunday night. Hours earlier, during a large mass protest service, West said that he came to get arrested." -- You know.. if one's intent is to get arrested, then one's intent is not peaceful...a planned disregard of the laws is not peaceful. Now, what's the solution protesters seek.. vigilante rule in their neighborhood? Michael Brown was not an "unarmed black teen".. he was a hulking 6'4", 292 pound, 18 year old man who moments before had brutally.... flagrantly.... assaulted an officer of the law, and failed to follow the commends of such officer of the law.
---
Soapbox Moment: Look like Jameis Winston is being investigated for signing autographs for the same company linked with Todd Gurley. The claim is that no money was received.. Does that mean no money exchanged at all, or was some paid "under the table" via 3rd party involvement or by a delayed promise? There is some contract involved whether written or oral for some benefit which would be the same as openly receiving money for signing merchandise for sale. Surely, even their parents know their sons weren't ignorant of business practices in the sports' autograph market... nor ignorant of the rules of the NCAA.
---
You know.. I have a few autographed items that are special.. but none have been attained for a "price".. I have a 1957 Washington Senators scorebook autographed by Ted Williams. My Dad attended the game and waited outside the Boston locker room to get the autograph for me of my hero. That was meaningful, and it's not for sale. For my nephews, I stood in line at Golden Park to get autographs on baseballs from Frank Thomas. The "Big Hurt" was a competitor of both during their Little League day.. both my nephews had pitched to Frank; both had struck Frank out... Frank had hit towering home runs off both of them as well. That was meaningful for them, and they are not for sale. I also have another autographed sports item thogh I'm not sure it fully qualifies as a sports autograph. In 1957, my Dad was playing golf at Augusta National. President Eisenhower was playing there the same day. Dad brought home an autographed Augusta National score cards.. they not for sale either.

Sgt Andrew Tahmooressi has been incarcerated in a Mexican jail for more than 6 months.. There's no worse of a blight on Obamageddon's legacy list. This travesty outweighs any of Obamageddon's claims that he swapped out 5 jihadists for Tali-bergdahl because he wouldn't abandon a US soldier in the field.
---
Speaking of Tali-Bergdahl, an online story says: "According to a report in the San Antonio News Express the US Army has completed but is refusing to release its investigation into the suspected desertion of Army PFC Bowe Bergdahl who walked off his base in Afghanistan in 2009. He subsequently fell into the hands of Taliban forces who held him captive for five years. His release, which was orchestrated and executed by the Obama Administration without the consent of Congress, swapped Bergdahl for the five most senior Taliban commanders held in captivity has arguably become the most controversial prisoner exchange in the history of the country. " -- Reporters should be hammering Decrtary of Defense Hagel's office door for the answer.. before November's election date.
---
There's report out designating the most expensive cities to live in.. #1 was not New York. #1 was Washington, DC.. You would think our Representatives would do something about that... if they knew how or could. Apparently our Representatives aren't interested in doing so or learning how to do so. TERM LIMITS!
---
False alarm.. Kim Jong Un has been seen alive.
---
Online headline/story: "Leaning Forward, MSNBC Loses Ground to Rival CNN * Rachel Maddow, the biggest star on the MSNBC cable network, just posted her lowest quarterly ratings results ever. * “Morning Joe,” MSNBC’s signature morning program, scored its second-lowest quarterly ratings, reaching an average of just 87,000 viewers in the key news demographic group. * And “Ronan Farrow Daily,” the network’s heavily promoted new afternoon show, which stars a 26-year-old Rhodes Scholar with a high-profile Hollywood lineage, has been largely a dud." -- I was torn as to comment on this because "who really cares"...BUT.. how could I not when it demonstrates so completely how irrelevant BOTH CNN & MSNBC are.?
---
L-E headline: "Hugley to present new IT nominee to Council Tuesday" -- I think the City should confirm that none of the School System's hard drives have crashed or disappeared . We are going to need them if we get an audit of the school system. We don't want to find we have a Lois Lerner/IRS type scandal.
---
L-E headline: "Homeless camp on city property is a big problem" -- How can we have a homeless problem..our Public Safety LOST tax revenues are funding a 10 year homeless eradication project of Mayor Obamalinson. Guess it's like our non-existent crime/gang problems.
---
Our Council is going to vote about putting in a $50,000.00+ "charging station" ( I assume for electric cars) at the Broadway/11th Street area. Where? Thriving businesses command each corner so where will a "charging station" be? In the middle of the intersection or on the median there. Guess it could be cash cow for the City..not only will fees be collected, Metra can camp out there and write $17.00 overtime parking tickets every two hours.
---
Good grief, Secretary of Defense Hagel has decided "climate change" is the military's most vital current issue..What's he going to do, put sails on aircraft carriers, and add battery operated tanks ?
---
Sec of Defense Hagel isn't alone in his opinion of climate change bring the greatest danger we face as a nation. Obamageddon and his minions are all "tweeting" about it. Guess they think the Democratic Base needs something they can believe Obamageddon is interested in they can rally behind.
---
Online story: "BURLINGTON, Ky. – Students celebrating a birthday at a northern Kentucky elementary school will have to do without birthday cake -- or any kind of food for that matter. * Burlington Elementary School recently revised its wellness policy to address the growing childhood obesity rate nationwide." -- Hmmm.. it was bad enough that schools shut off birthday celebrations of Jesus, but now wants to shut off birthday celebrations of God's gifts.
---
Well, with school board issues heating up with 3 more months before the May elected newcomers take a seat, then one of two things need to happen. Either the election be moved back to the November General Election date, or...or..school board decisions, other than day-to-day, be suspended until the new members are seated. 7+ months is too long a period for unseated board members to still control future issues.
---
You know , when Obamageddon first entered office, both the Senate and House had "super majority" status for Democrats. In those first two years, we got OObamaCRAP and job losses, huge increases in food stamp recipients, Hillary for the State Department, Holder for Attorney General, marijuana decriminalization, and an influx of illegal aliens. After 2 years, the American people took those super majorities away to save this country. Now we have gridlock that has put the brakes White House malfeasance. This election, the Republicans have a chance to get control of both the Senate & House, and get healing legislation on Obamageddon's desk where he can sign it or take responsibility for the gridlock he's responsible for.
---
Online story: "First Lady Rosalynn Carter was in Macon Friday at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, campaigning for her grandson, State Senator Jason Carter. * The meeting was not open to the press" -- "not open to the press"? Well, what's new? It's a Democratic Party practice to keep its agenda hidden as best it can.
---
Online headline/story: "Jason Carter Criticizes Obamacare — Are Independents Listening? * “Anybody who looks at the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare or whatever you want to call it, has to recognize that it’s a mess,” - Jason Carter said" -- Hmmm... bet his grandfather gagged on a mouthful of peanuts. It;s the same strategy Cuzzin Jimmy used.. pretend you're an outsider.. not a Democrat. Once you're elected, you can shed the mask.
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee school board debates how to spend rest of SPLOST money" -- While the final revenue numbers are way short of what the previous Board erroneously based their projects on, the total is higher than I anticipated (which should also mean the City's two LOST taxes generated more revenue than anticipated, so why wasn't Mayor Obamalinson's budget balanced?) and there "appears" to be unspent money available from that SPLOST.. $4,000,000.00 in fact. Now the School System can't spend it fast enough. Why not place this money in an escrow account to be used for follow up maintenance on the projects authorized in the SPLOST? We know from past experiences "things" are going to break/fall apart, so why not be prepared to fix them as they happen rather than letting the whole project disintegrate and need full replacement in 20 years? After all, it's OUR money!
---
L-E story: " Health officials on Monday were scrambling to identify and monitor a large number of health care workers at a Dallas hospital who could be at risk of contracting Ebola after they cared for Thomas Eric Duncan in the hospital’s isolation ward. * It’s unclear how many caregivers could be at risk. But Dr. Tom Frieden, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said he wouldn’t be surprised if more workers develop the disease in the coming weeks." -- "scrambling to identify and monitor a large number of health care workers"? Hey, why not just ask the crew reponsible for keeping tabs on the Gitmo 5 Obamageddon released by into their habitat?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If you’re never going to vote for a candidate again who offers hope and change, then you have officially voted for your last time because they all offer hope and change." -- Hmmm, as for me, I look for, and support/vote for candidates who seem capable of having solutions. Looking for "hope & change" is like throwing anvils into the air to see which way the wind is blowing.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Mr. Myers and Mr. Thomas: You have not been installed yet. The session you attended was a courtesy session and probably should not have been extended to you since you don’t know what courtesy is." -- As said earlier, either the election should be moved back to the November General Election date, or...or..school board decisions, other than day-to-day, be suspended until the new members are seated. 7+ months is too long a period for unseated board members to still control future issues.
---
Once again the Columbus L-E confirms economic problems in Columbus. The Foreclosure Section is longer again, but the L-E has lost another section again this week.
