Soapbox moment: There was a fire at the site of crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA. Though not confirmed as "safe", the memorabilia stored on site was kept in fireproof safes. What's enlightening, though negatively, is that the memorial tower, appropriately 93' tall, is still not complete after 13 years. All told, our government will spend some $70 Million at the site, but you know, its excruciatingly embarrassing to show the world how inefficiently our government can work on a project that should reflect our unity.

Online headline/story: "ISIS holds Indiana Army vet hostage * Peter Kassig, 26, appeared in a recent online video showing a masked militant who threatened to behead the Iraq War veteran next. * what the former Army Ranger saw there prompted him to return, the next time as a medical assistant and humanitarian worker hoping to offer blankets, food and medical care to victims of the region's conflicts." -- Good grief.. it's sad.. depressing, that indiscriminate mutilation of people hasn't "grown old" for those of Islamic beliefs. Beliefs? You know... "beliefs" is not the word... Radical Islam has become more of a plague.
---
Personal note: Peter Kassig trained at Ft Benning here in Columbus, GA. Please pray for sanity amidst the barbarians, and for Peter Kassig and his friends and family.

HuffPost headline: "In an effort to reassure the public, the Obama administration said it was 'well-equipped to stop Ebola in its tracks.' -- Good grief.. Obamageddon has not stopped illegal immigration "in it's tracks; Obamageddon has not stopped IRS attacks on citizens "in it's tracks"; Obamageddon's Secret Service can't even stop a White House interloper "in it's tracks", yet Obamageddon wants us to feel secure he can stop ebola "in it's tracks? I don't feel so good.
---
Online headline: "Former defense secretary Panetta rips Obama decision * Mistake he thinks president made" -- "Mistake"? Singular? If there was a "single" mistake made, it was in Denver in August of 2008.
---
Online story: " About a dozen protesters were jailed after being arrested during Thursday's protests in Ferguson, and it has some local officials and rights groups questioning if police overreached. * A small number of people gathered outside Ferguson police headquarters, the latest of several protests since the Aug. 9 shooting death of Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. * Protesters want Wilson to be charged in the killing of Brown, 18, who was black and unarmed. A grand jury investigation is expected to last into November." -- Have you noticed the one thing that's missing? None of the protesters wants "justice". If "justice" was a part of this mob gathering, Michael Brown's color would not be an issue, and if "justice" was a part of this mob gathering, the grand jury outcome will be accepted peacefully and life will go on.

HuffPost story: " A judge struck down part of Missouri's gay marriage ban for the first time on Friday by ordering the state to recognize same-sex marriages legally performed in other states, saying state laws banning the unions single out gay couples "for no logical reason." -- Good grief.. a judge says there's "no logical reason". First, what says a law has to be "logical"? If "logic" was the "key", logically thinking, then Congress would make a logical law that no attachments to a bill could be different from the original bill. (In other words, no author of a bill could add another legislator's earmark to his bill in order to gain the other legislator's vote on the main bill) On the other hand, what's "logical" about saying the voters of one state have the wisdom or power to force another state's voters to agree with their logic?

HuffPost story: "An unnamed man claiming to be a member of Congress made his way into a secure area backstage at an event President Barack Obama attended last week * The impostor claimed he was Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-N.J.) * The man was asked to leave the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation awards dinner after another member of the White House staff recognized that he was not actually the congressman. The man left without incident and was not detained." -- Good grief.. a man impersonates a Congressman, is finally "outed", and is allowed to leave, without detention, a secured event attended by a president? Obviously his choice of Secret Service director is questionable, but Obamageddon really did make one good decision in his life... naming Joe Biden as his VP.. no one, absolutely NO ONE (well except the Biden family) wants Joe to assume office.

Online headline: "Black Community Goes After Megyn Kelly For Ferguson ‘Racism’, Want Her Fired From Fox News" -- Hmmm the "Black community" wants someone fired for "racism". Funny, the "Black community" has never asked that Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, Charlie Rangel, or Pric Holder or Obamageddon be fired for "racism"...
---
On the above item.. this is what the "Black community" calls "racism"..
"Kelly brought on Fox contributor and Iraq combat vet Pete Hegseth to discuss the beheading video, and what it could potentially mean for the United States and ISIS. Halfway through their conversation, the Fox control room decided to go full-screen with live video of police clashing with protesters in Ferguson. * “Hold on,” Kelly told her staff. “I realize — just — I realize something’s happening in Ferguson, but we’re talking about something important here, so can you at least split-screen the video? Look, the protesters and the police are clashing again, alright? They’re clashing again. But we’re talking about the death of an American who was beheaded, and Pete deserves his say.” -- To be realistic, Megan Kelly would have been more guilty of "racism" if she hadn't protested being cut off from finishing her story about the plight of Pete Hegseth and the barbarian threat of an Islamic jihadist.

Why is it that we put our (and our employers' ) money into the Social Security "lock box" Algore created, and Congress is always telling us it's going to run out before we retire, yet,Congress never seems to run out of money for entitlement programs and earmarked projects?
---
Online quote source: "“Why do we close our eyes when we pray? When we cry? When we dream? Or when we kiss? Because we know that the most beautiful things in life are not seen, but felt by the heart.” - Unknown" -- Hmmm.. I know, we all know, why we close our eyes when we pray, cry, dream, and kiss.. What I want to know is why so many voters and mainstream media close their eyes when voting/campaigning for liberals?
---
Online headline: "Sam Nunn condemns ‘shameful’ attack on daughter, says Harry Reid wanted her out of Senate race" -- Hmmm... sounds a litlle more credible.. forceful.. when Sam says the same things than when Michelle repeats them. There's little doubt who will be pulling the apron/puppet strings on Michelle if she's elected. Maybe Sam should run for himself.

Online story: "The Macon Telegraph believes government should be transparent and held accountable to the public. In order to fulfill this mission, we are placing a greater emphasis on watchdog journalism through the presentation of online databases." -- Hey.. Like the Columbus L-E, the Macon Telegraph is a McClatchy newspaper. too. Too bad, the staff at the L-E do not share the Telegraph's idealism of being a community watchdog for the local government.. Of course, in dog language, the L-E is a government "lap dog".
---
Online story: "Former Dalton Mayor David Pennington, and loser in the Republican Primary, is backing Libertarian Andrew Hunt’s campaign for governor." -- Good grief.. how does Pennington think he's helping attain a more conservative platform for the Republican Party when he basically is diverting voters FROM the Republican Party that will allow Democrats to win elections?
---
Online headline: "Avondale Estates mayor apologizes for lack of transparency" -- BS! He's apologizing for getting caught... nothing more; nothing less.
---
Online headline: "Teachers grade Common Core: C+ and room for improvement" -- Hmmm.. of course what the teachers don't say is that a "C" today is one point higher than a failing grade when we were in school.
---
L-E headline story: "TEEN GETS 35 YEARS FOR KILLING CSU COED AFTER SOLICITED SEX * Smith, 17, pleads guilty to choking woman to death, then stealing her car * The teen who at age 15 strangled a (21-year-old) Columbus State University student after soliciting sex from her on the Internet pleaded guilty Friday to voluntary manslaughter * Smith picked up the contents of Poupart’s spilled purse, put them back in the handbag and threw it in the trunk, * For the next eight hours or so, he gave friends rides in the car and went shopping at Peachtree Mall, using Poupart’s money" -- How dramatically confirming is this of the complete cultural collapse of an element of society? Prostituting and killing without remorse... and the 15 year old will see the light of day again. Heaven help us.

LIV's L-E "soundoff": " If the 90 percent weren’t stuck paying taxes for the one percent who won’t pay their fair share, we could afford to be more generous." -- Good grief..this "soundoffer" more than likely received a "refund" for tax creidts he/she didn't even pay. Here is the truth: "The tax rate paid by individuals with incomes in the top 1 percent averaged 23.39 percent, while all filers in the bottom 50 percent paid an average tax rate of 2.37 percent, according to a new Tax Foundation analysis" "The Tax Foundation is a nonpartisan research organization that has monitored fiscal policy at the federal, state and local levels since 1937".

L-E commentary column headline/story: " Another problem altogether * “Kids need to understand that guns kill,” Phenix City Police Chief Ray Smith told reporter Chuck Williams. “And that is what they are designed to do.” -- "guns kill"? "designed to do"? What an awful capsulization of the use/need for guns! None of my guns have killed anything. They are for the protection of my family should a criminal decide he/she is entitled to disrespect laws concerning our civil rights. I pray I will never have to pull the trigger on one of my guns because of a criminal's aggression. Otherwise, my guns are perfectly safe as none of them is capable of pulling their own triggers.

I saw something I've never seen before last night.. After tying the football game at 12-12, the team went for a 2-point play.. A pass. The ball was thrown, and the referee standing within 3-to-5 yards, looking directly into the play signaled the pass was incomplete. A referee across the field challenged the call, and after a 3-way discussion with, I assume, the head referee, the judgement call was overturned and the home team was given the two points. A game was basically decided by overruling a judgement call when no video replay was available or part of such a formula. Pathetic.
