The Oscars is over.. didn't watch any of it.. not in sympathy of any group or cause, but because I disconnected with Hollywood a long time ago.. For the record.. reviewed the "winners" list this AM... There was one movie that my bride and I saw...with our granddaughter, at that, that "won" anything.. "Inside Out".  We did research all the "other winners" when they were showing, but either our research or the "trailers" we saw at the other movies we went didn't look/sound like anything that would entertain us.

From the "when are they gonna learn" department - Online story: "Protesters threw rocks at police in Salt Lake City after officers shot a black teenager who was attacking a man late on Saturday, authorities said. * The Salt Lake City Police Department said he was shot after officers in the downtown Rio Grande area saw two people attacking a male victim with metal objects and ordered the pair to drop their weapons 8 "One of the males complied and dropped the weapon, the other continued to advance on the victim and was shot by officers,"  * One man who said he was a witness, S**** Mohammad, 19, told reporters his friend, the teenager who was shot, was holding a broomstick and had been fighting with an older man before the officers arrived."He barely even turned around. ... My friend didn't do anything," Mohammad told the Deseret News newspaper" --  "my friend didn't do anything"? Good grief if he had done something.. like drop the weapon and obey the police officers, we wouldn't be talking about this.. BUT, if the dead attackers friend. the witness... had done something .. like stop his friend from attacking the old man, there wouldn't have been any cause for the police to even be there.. IT'S THE FRIEND's FAULT!

---
From the "this candidate is throwing in the towel" department - Online story: "Sen. Ted Cruz speculated Sunday that Republican presidential rival Donald Trump might be delaying the release of his tax returns because of possible ties with the mob. *  "Maybe it is the case that Donald, there have been multiple media reports about Donald's business dealings with the mob, with the mafia," Cruz said on "Meet the Press."
"Maybe his taxes show those business dealings are a lot more extensive than has been reported," he added."  --  "speculated"? Cruz has lost it.. Trump has a better argument about Cruz having "dealings" with mob figures.. because Cruz probably dealt with them in court..and if a "mob" figure got off, maybe Cruz threw the case.. hey,, just "speculating" here.

---
Both Cruz and Rubio keep claiming they represent conservatism..as members of the Senate majority, how conservative is it to allow the National Debt to soar?

---
Even Fox played "Wag the Dog" with Hillary's SC primary win. Let's be realistic, 369,000 who voted.in the Democratic Primary is half the number that showed up a week before for the Republican primary. Additionally, the turnout for this primary had less than 70% of the number that voted in the 2008 Democratic primary. To me, it doesn't even demonstrate that the Democratic base is very excited about either choice they have.

---
Wonder if black voters have ever considered why they don't like most Republicans... maybe it's linked to their experiences at trusting Kennedys and Clintons?

---
Remember when Starkist use to rebuke Charlie because it wanted tuna that tastes good versus a tuna with good taste?

---
Don't you think it's scary that ex Mexican President Vicente Fox and Hillary consider Obama's America is already great?

---
I am most curious as to how Al Sharlatan wants to increase black Oscar nominations.. set asides, something already stricken down by the US Supreme Court? Or maybe by reaching up in the air and snatching a name out of the sky like he does when trying to find facts to support his usual lies?

---
What does an advocate for P.E.T.A. do when he/she is outside playing with a puppy they've "saved" from a dog pound, and an eagle or owl sweeps down and grabs it?

---
Raven Simone ...remember her from the Cosby Show...and Disney movies?  I guess brilliance is not her forte.. She said she and her family (and that she already has the tickets) are moving to Canada if...if a Republican is NOMINATED for president. Well, get packed and gone. I can assure you a Republican will be nominated.

---
From the "God help us" department - Remember this? -  "I believe the PRIMARY role of the state is to teach, train and raise children. Parents have a secondary role." - Hillary Clinton, "It Takes A Village" -- Democrats have advocated this since LBJ in the 60s, and we have more children living below the poverty and literacy lines than ever!

---
Planned Parenthood just announced that it was going to spend $1,000,000.00 on advertising for Hillary..There's definitely a need to rewrite existing 501 (c) 3 and 4 statuses to completely forbid foundations from making political donations/statements of any kind.

---
Online headline: "Samuel L. Jackson: “If That Motherf*cker (Trump) Becomes President I Will Move my Black A** to South Africa”"  -- Well.. Jackson got one thing correct .. he is an ass...You know, with all the "stars" promising to move to other countries if Trump wins, I do believe Trump is picking up new voters every day. You know, if Trump wins, we will have a smoother running and more civil America!

---
Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Republican voters: You are decent people wanting the same things Democrats want — protection of our country, our jobs and our environment. You’ve been fed scare tactics so long you don’t trust anyone. Let’s talk." -- Hmmm.. has anyone heard a Republican candidate campaigning  on "free college" or income redistribution, or dismantling our military? No, Republicans campaign on "Freedom Issues", not "free stuff" like middle school Student Government candidates.

---
You know.. those libs who harp about climate change could guarantee perfect weather in their own futures if.. they only believed in Jesus.. and God's decisions to give us each day as He deems perfect on Earth.

---

Hank Aaron still doesn't get it.. I grew up in the times of Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.. I loved Willie Mays.. he elevated his team to play better.. to win.. Hank Aaron.. not so much.. like today, Aaron was just in it for himself, and the team results reflected that.

Sunday, February 28, 2016

Did you hear the demon inside Hillary in her rant following the SC primary? Trump is only Republican candidate who will challenge her socialistic rhetoric and her racial vitriol.

---
From the "Wag the Dog" department -HuffPOOPOO "headLIE": "Hillary Clinton wins South Carolina in massive victory * Huge numbers she brought in" -- "huge numbers"? Let's look closer.. The Democratic Primary had 369,000 participants, and Hillary got 271,000 of those!  But let's look closer.. The Republicans had their SC primary a week before, and 738,000 participated...that's twice as many.. but let's parse the numbers closer. In the 2008 Democrat primary in SC, 532,000 participated for the Democrats.. so this year's number isn't so huge...Now let's look at the Republicans' 2012 SC Primary.. 603,000 showed up looking for change.. but even more showed up last week fired up for change. Did anyone see a HuffPOOPOO headline talking about "huge numbers" for the Republicans?  In a word, "No"!

---
Online story: "Republican voters need only look to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to understand that GOP lawmakers will willingly sacrifice the White House in order to save their own hides. * As the Republican Party begins to accept the very real possibility that front-runner Donald Trump will be their presidential nominee, McConnell “laid out a plan that would have lawmakers break with Mr. Trump explicitly in a general election,” The New York Times reported." -- Now is the y=time for Priebus to step up and pin McConnel's ears back! McConnell sees what's going to happen with Trump leading the ticket.. more Republicans will win Senate seats, and, fortified by a Trump White House, the Senators will dump McConnell on his RINO ass.

---
Trump is going to win, and Republicans should embrace him as soon as possible. Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpiao is in the Trump wagon.

---
Ground was broken on a new "Fines Arts Academy" facility here in Columbus yesterday.. Initial costs perceived at $36+ Million.. for 500 kids from K-12. Politics the first year it opens will be bad enough as  500 will have to be chosen from, I'm sure, 1,000s of future Oscar and Grammy winners, artists, and dancers . And it looks like there will be only space for 38 prodigies per grade the first year, and then only the graduating class members (what's that ..38?) will be making space for a new K-class of 38 each and every year afterwards.. How cute.. Each year 38 or so kindergartners will be "labeled" and cordoned off from their peers getting well rounded  (minus art) at other schools. What hath hell wrought!

---
At a rally featuring Bill Clinton, a Marine with 8 years of service including 2 tours in Iraq stepped up to the mic. The Democrat audience "booed" him when he asked about Benghazi. Hey, Hillary...this is the DIFFERENCE that you want to sweep under the carpet. On the other hand, if this Marine just showed up at a Republican rally, the crowd would get a standing "O"....

---
Oh... there was another rally.. actually 2 rallies and a melee in California. Separate KKK and the Black Panthers rallies clashed over a purported difference of opinion about the Confederate Flag.. Gimmee a break,, California has no right to claim the Confederat flag as part of its culture or history.. one writer went so far as to add "The Klan, a white supremacist group known for their white robes and peaked hoods often worn by its members, has a long history of violence toward African-Americans, Jews and others, according the Southern Poverty Law Center" -- "a long history of violence toward African-Americans, Jews and others"? How about describing those "others" as Catholics and Republicans. The KKK was and is Democrats!

---
Online story: "At a campaign stop on Friday at Saffron in Charleston, S.C., Clinton happened upon a pre-wedding brunch for groom-to-be John Schreck. He and 10 of his groomsmen were downing bloody Marys, and were excited to meet the Democratic candidate and get a photo. Clinton's photographer arranged the men in pleasing photo op formation around her with several kneeling, spurring Clinton to joke, "I love having men at my feet." * Schreck invited her to the wedding, but Clinton declined. She's got bigger fish to fry " -- "I love having men at my feet"? "she's got bigger fish to fry"? Hmmm... maybe she was just "fishing" for White House interns...

---
You know, Trump ought to show a chart of how his own wealth has been devalued since Rubio has stood by ineffectively as the National Debt has grown from $14 TRILLION to $19 TRILLION just since his being elected to the Senate.

---
Listening to Rubio from Kenesaw, GA try to paint Trump as a bad businessman just re-emphasized how little Rubio understands about business. Rubio suggested..no averred that had Trump simply put his inheritance money in an index fund that he would be worth more than Warren Buffet sounds like something Hillary would say. Trump has turned his investment in people into thousands of jobs for others as well as accumulating great wealth for himself. On the other hand, Rubio has been part of the Congress that has driven our National Debt up an additional $5 TRILLION dollars since he got elected.

---
Well, I'll be...Mike Huckabee was on Fox highlighting how contrived Romney's attack on Trump's taxes is. Huckabee pointed out how late Romney finally revealed his, and Huckabee commented how he regretted airing 20 years of his own. It gave his opponents, and.mainscream media, nitpicking stuff to distract his own campaigning. This is about as big an endorsement as Christie had made.

---
You know, Trump is right about not releasing his tax returns before IRS approves the end results. A couple of years ago, IRS did a 9 year probe saying I owed a 6-figure amount.. IRS even "froze" my accounts. After having my accountant re-compute them using deductions I had not claimed the first time, we found that we actually had OVERPAID about $20 000.00, but..IRS then refused to pay it back based on the claim not being filed within 3 years of deduction dates.

--
Joe Biden..said, I almost feel I need to apologize for Republican RHETORIC about Mexico. Good grief.. the next president is going to spend years apologizing to our allies and the world for the damages Obama & Biden have inflicted upon them.

---
Karl Rove showed a Monmouth College poll taken in Texas showing Cruz leading with 38%.. Excuse me, but getting less than 50% in Texas will be a loss for Cruz.

--
You know...I really feel sorry for the current college students who are responding to Bernie, and now Hillary's claims, they will give every one "free college". These students will be either graduated, or will dropout before any such plan can be implemented , and will be part of the working element that Bernie or Hillary will be going after the money they will now be working hard for.

---
Neal Cavuto interviewed a Hillary supporter, a Congresswoman no less, who referenced Hillary's influence in educating the poor in Arkansas during Bill's almost 12 year reign as governor if Arkansas. Good grief..that was back in the '80s, and Arkansas still is in the bottom section of the under-educated.

---
Online story: "The New York State Education Department’s Board of Regents is defending its hotly debated plan that allows illegal immigrants to be certified as public school teachers." -- Good grief! I hope American born/naturalized citizens who are teaching or wanting to teach, are contacting their unions/Congresspersons/school board members to stop this!

---
From the "this is one of the reasons why I don't watch MLB games anymore" department - L-E headline/story: "Edwin Jackson eyeing fifth slot in Marlins’ rotation *     Jackson, 32, bombed for the Cubs after signing a four-year, $52 million contract before the 2013 season. * He led the National League with 18 losses in 2013, was third with 15 more losses in 2014 and won only 14 games over those two seasons while allowing 487 baserunners in 316 innings and producing a bloated 5.60 ERA." -- I get excited seeing loals "make good".. I mean.. why not.. I enjoyed being around.. even coaching against Frank Thomas during his Little League Days at Peach LL, and enjoyed watching Edwin Jackson when my nephew's CHS team squared off against Shaw, but nothing is going to excite about a $12.5 Million dollar a year flop.. Hey Marlins, Braves.. MLB..Give me some minimum wage rookies wanting to make  themselves  stars and you'll get my attention back..

---

From above story: "  Among the Marlins’ pitching prospects, (Adam) Conley, 25, was the most impressive last season, finishing 4-1 with a 3.76 ERA, with 59 strikeouts in 67 innings. He allowed no more than three earned runs in any of his final eight starts. *   “I look at the radar gun all the time now,” he said. “Jose Fernandez told me to look at the radar gun between pitches.” * He said that helps him determine what he wants to throw next." -- Hey.. that's against the rules.. signals are suppose to come from the catcher.. and to think that the New England Patriots were vilified for lip-reading the other teams coaches' orders...professional sports.. bah humbug!

Online headline: "Melissa Harris-Perry walks off her show on MSNBC: ‘I will not be used as a tool’" -- "tool? Apparently she has a problem with spelling... she had no issue at being another f-word.... "Fool".

---
Hmmm... so a "blackout: has been called for the Oscars.. good grief.. My family has had a "blackout" of the Oscars for decades, but it still gets covered..

---
Looking at polls of the Democratic Primary in South Caroline coming up, it looks like "1%
have no preference whether it's Hillary or Bernie. That must be the 1% that truly keeps up with Hillary and has determined "there is no difference".

---
Online story: "Telling supporters in Dallas that he wanted to have a "little fun," Rubio took out his phone at the rally and proceeded to read Trump's Friday-morning tweets in which he attacked Rubio. * Rubio read the first Trump tweet, which accused Rubio of being a "choker" but misspelled the term. * "And once a chocker, always a choker," Rubio said, feigning confusion. "I guess that's what he meant to say. He spelled 'choker,' 'c-h-o-c-k-e-r.' Chocker." -- Good grief.. is Rubio a masochist? It seems he was upset at Trump for misspelling what he's proud of.. being a choker...

---
Trump nailed former Mexican President Fox, and at the same time ripped NERO-bamageddon "a new one", and demonstrated why Trump is the one we need in the White House.  Trump said that Fox was speaking like he and other countries' leaders talk because none of them respect the USA any more.

---
Rubio doesn't know when to take his foot out of his mouth..He blasts Trump for turning $200,000,000.00 into $10,000,000,000, but when Rubio went into office, the National Debt was $14 TRILLION and has helped turn it into  $19 TRILLION while on his watch.

---
Listening to Hillary describe the issues she will accomplish if she is elected really should make you wonder about what she has..well, in actuality, what she HASN'T done/accomplished in her 25 years as a public pundit.

---
L-E "headLIE"/story: "Eight local high schools are 2016 AP Honor Schools  * The 2016 AP Honor Schools in Muscogee County are Columbus, Northside and Spencer. The other local schools on the prestigious list are Callaway, Harris County, LaGrange, Marion County and Troup County." - " Eight local high schools"?  I understand Columbus, Northside, and Spencer.. they are in Muscogee County, but the majority of "the 8" are not...

---
Observation on above L-E story: "Wait a minute.. what was all the excitement about Carver High's AP award in yesterday's L-E, but Carver isn't one of the "local" schools who got actual awards, , and how about the exclusion of Spencer as a high school that has at least 30 percent of their AP exams taken by students who identified themselves as black or Hispanic and 30 percent of all their AP exams earned scores of 3 points or higher out of 5 points,? Not only does the MCSD have major communications problems, I'm beginning to believe that the Columbus L-E is owned by Hillary.

---
A "gets it" L-E "soundoff": " Thanks to Bruce Huff for his courage in sticking to his convictions. Several other council members could learn some lessons from Mr. Huff." -- Anybody running against any other Council person other than Huff, contact me..

---
From the "don't fall for this crap" department - FB ad: "The ONLY Family Friendly Movie Streaming Service. Hallmark Hall of Fame and More!" -- Good grief.. whatta a LIE.. I think showing men kiss over a Valentine is pretty much R+ rated for my family.

---

L-E headline: "CAMPAIGN 2016 * Trump wins Christie endorsement as Super Tuesday approaches" -- Good grief.. what should have been a front page, above the crease headline, is published in the bottom left corner of A-4, which is one of the least read/viewed/scanned section of any newspaper.

Friday, February 26, 2016

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval may be more astute than I first imagined..he took himself out of game of being the political "dodgeball" for NERO-bamageddon to try to knock Republican Senators out of "the game".
---
Is there anyone who actually believes that Apple cannot (or already hasn't) already accessed their phones at anytime it wishes?  This past Tuesday afternoon, bride's Apple iPhone just injected how long it would take to drive to the address of our granddaughter's gymnastic facility... and my bride neither asked nor was even in her car. Guess Apple just "remembered" her past pattern..

---
I tell you what.. I tried to buy an Apple Airbook last year, but it wouldn't load a program that's integral in my life, so I took it back and bought another PC instead. Now I'm in the market for my first iPhone, but seeing as Apple isn't on the same page as I am on keeping America safe from terrorism, I'm going to stick with Android system phones.

---
A year ago, if I'd seen a headline announcing Trump running for president, I'd figured it was either a publicity stunt or an April Fool's Day headline. Either way, I'd just shrugged it off. I'm glad he's running.. issues and conversations are more open than in any time since Reagan. Now the March 1st Super Tuesday Primary date is upon us, and I know I will be casting my vote for him.

---
It was nice last night to see, hear our National Anthem being sung at the CNN Republican debate..the only ones you wondered about not saluting our flag were the CNN moderators.as a president with Republican Congressional support,

---
Trump rules.. time after time.. during the debate, Trump could cause or calm chaos at will.. and with the support of a beefed-up Republican Congress, Trump will reverse the decline NERO-bamageddon-Reid-Pelosi tried to inflict on us.

---
Don't believe any head-to-head polls matching Trump vs Hillary during the primary season..Even supporters of Cruz & Rubio will say they would vote for Hillary in order to sideline Trump's appeal.

---
It just doesn't slow down in Chicago... Last year, 20 were shot and killed in the month of February.. This year, there has been 32 such murders (plus twice as many non-fatal shootings) and there's still a long weekend with an extra day to go.

---
Online headline: "Al Sharpton leading Oscar protest over lack of Black nominees" -- Good grief... as he'd if know what a good acting job is.. on the other hand, I'd love to see him leading a rally supporting the decline of blacks being shot on the streets of Chicago.

---
Too funny to not pass along this pic from a fellow BCer:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Online story: "Senator Lindsey Graham literally started off a CNN interview this morning by saying, “I think Donald Trump will be the gold standard for stupid Republican candidates, I just want to be on the record with that.” -- "gold standard for stupid Republican candidates"? -- Good grief.. Graham just set himself up as the nominee for "most stupid Republican ever"! You know.. With Graham's swishful mannerisms and womanless lifestyle, he surely doesn't want to get into a duel with Trump...

---
Soapbox Moment: "It's time..no, way passed time for Council and the Columbus L-E and our legislative delegation to demand a forensic audit on the Whittlesey Rd widening project. It's almost a year behind schedule, at least $1,000,000.00 over budget, and no end in sight. We deserve better than this.

---
Bumper sticker I want to see:
Elect Trump - Jail Hillary!

---
Online headline: "ALL HELL IS BREAKING LOOSE IN GERMANY: Citizens Want “Refugees” Gunned Down At Borders " -- Hmmm... somehow a properly constructed fence on our border sounds pretty humane..

---
Online story: "Three black female college students who claimed to be victims of an assault by a group of white men and women have been charged themselves.  * Officials at the University of Albany (NY)  announced Thursday that two of the women, Ariel Agudio and Asha Burwell, have been charged with misdemeanor assault and falsely reporting an incident. The third woman, Alexis Briggs, has been charged with misdemeanor assault. * The women, all 20 years old, claimed they were attacked early on the morning of Jan. 30 while riding a bus. They claimed that they were called racial slurs and were physically attacked while bystanders looked on. *  Police said surveillance and cellphone video, as well as eyewitness testimony, contradicted the women's account. *  The false report charge against Aguido and Burwell stem from 911 calls the women made reporting the incident. In one of the calls, Agudio tells the dispatcher, "It was a racial crime. They were calling us [N-word] and all this stuff ... And if someone doesn't come and take this down or something, I'm going to call the news." -- Well, well, well... gotta love those surveillance cameras.. Of note is that Hillary was proving what a "Big Twit" she is, because she was "tweeting" - "There's no excuse for racism and violence on a college campus." - before most iPhone videos hit YouTube.

---
L-E story: "Synovus Toast of the Town will host “An Evening at 11th and Bay Southern Table” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1. Guest bartenders will be Cameron Bean, Reynolds Bickerstaff and Theresa Robertson." -- Tuesday at 6:00 PM? You know, I don't when this changed but it use to be that no alcohol could be bought or served until AFTER polls had closed on an election day..Isn't Tuesday the primary election date for GA? Too bad it is scheduled when so many hard working poll workers will not be able to attend.

---
A "really gets it" L-E "soundoff": " If you’re only 22-23 years old and now being charged with, among other charges, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, then we’re obviously letting people out of prison way, way too soon." -- All you judges listening?

---
Boy.. Council is just full of "garbage" discussions.. First Council approved ending twice a week garbage pickups to save $500K annually yet are concerned about worn out garbage trucks..now, Council is distressed about keeping the Aquatic Center open full time at a loss of $500K annually... I have a compromise.. just close the Aquatic Center and rent it out for events users will pay all the expenses for, and go back to the twice-a-week garbage pickups. We'll save $1.3 MILLION by not having the AquaticCenter open full time, plus Council will have both twic-a-week pickups and $800,000.00 left over to replace garbage trucks.. How come Council or Public Services didn't think of this?

---
L-E story: " Groups of frustrated migrants, including families with small children, walked along north-bound Greek highways Thursday hoping to reach Macedonia after authorities stopped their buses to ease a bottleneck on the practically blocked border." -- "groups of frustrated migrants"? When did refugees (illegal aliens) get labeled as "migrants"... even "groups of migrants"? Wonder when the LA gangs will be renamed "frustrated groups"?

---
L-E story: " Carver High School has been named a winner of the AP Champion Award, which recognizes efforts to eliminate barriers that restrict Advanced Placement access. * The news release from the Georgia Department of Education noted other selection criteria: ensuring AP classes reflect the school’s diversity, building and sustaining a positive culture around AP and creatively promoting AP coursework. * Carver more than doubled its number of Pre-AP and AP classes from the 2013-14 school year to 2014-15 and has more students taking AP classes, and more teachers certified to teach them, than ever, principal Chris Lindsey told the Ledger-Enquirer in an email." -- I'm curious.. is this the same Carver of Columbus that failed the Milestone Tests, and could not nominate a S.T.A.R. student a couple of years ago (or even this year if the S.T.A.R. story/announcement in today's L-E is accurate)? If so.. this is good, but it sure sounds contrived. Let's pray that Carver has turned around thoroughly before raising expectations "too high".

---
L-E headline/story: "DELTA DATA AMONG TOP TECH COMPANIES  * Columbus management business named as one of ‘Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies’ *    The Technology Association of Georgia named 25-year-old Delta Data one of the “Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies.” All of the other honorees are located in the Atlanta area." -- Hmmm... and didn't I read wher our local government needs are being contracted to a tech firm in Lagrange? Why.. we have first rate tech firms in Columbus, and none from Lagrange made the top 40.

---
L-E headline: "GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS * Owner of PMB Broadcasting Jimbo Martin inducted into GAB Hall of Fame" -- Well, deserved, friend!

Thursday, February 25, 2016

Online headline/story: "Report: Republican governor being vetted for SCOTUS * One of the candidates the White House is considering as a nominee to replace Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court is the Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval. * "I don't pick the justices, but I know if he were picked, I would support the man," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said in a recent interview * Sandoval's position lines up with the Democrats on several key issues. He's worked to implement the Medicaid expansion in Nevada as part of the Affordable Care Act and supported immigration reform and renewable energy. Most notably, Sandoval is pro-choice." -- GAME ON!  Looks like NERO-bamageddon has thrown up the first balloon... but how "Republican" can a person be who is endorsed by Dingy Harry,, a lib by any other name is still a lib.

---
Online headline: "Self-Proclaimed Trump Supporters Wear KKK Robes at Nevada Caucus" -- Now we know what happened to late Sen. Robert Byrd's (D-WV) wardrobe went after his death...

---
Online headline: "Romney warns of 'bombshell' in 1 candidate's taxes * The 2012 GOP nominee called in to FOX News Wednesday night, demanding to see the tax filings for the top three Republican contenders." -- Good grief.. if Romney showed his teeth like this in 2008 or 2012, he'd have been elected..Now he's continuing to be the RNC lapdog.

---
This GITMO debacle of NERO-bamageddon..you know, in 2009-2010, NERO-bamageddon had super-majority Democrats in both houses of Congress...any plan he wanted could have been.passed...but...Democrats (pardon the pun) "trumped" him by passing a law prohibiting the expenditure of federal funds to move such prisoners into the USA. Let's not let him, any other Dems or mainscream media try to paint the Republicans as obstructionist. In fact.. let's let our Republican Reps KNOW we demand this.

---
Hillary says she's been in the public eye for 25 years and is use to attacks on her ... well, I guess she IS use the personal attacks since she has created them all.

---
Mayor TomLYINGson just fed our Council an overdose of Kool-AID. If her ballot initiative passes she has effectively repealed the Constitutional Amendment and replaced the "freeze" protection with a local ordinance that no longer protects us from a Council change of what has been security gur homeowners.

---
Other Republican candidates keep inferring that Trump can't win because 65% of the voters are choosing other candidates than him. Hmmm..with that logic, then a Republican who gets only 16% of the votes is badically opposed by 84% of the voters. Looks like Trump wins! Any comments, Marco?

---
Rubio just got endorsed by Alan Colmes on Fox...Colmes said Rubio could win with a coalition of other Republican candidates' supporters. Tough luck, Marco.

---
A fellow BCer made an astute observation...the Councilors who voted to put Mayor TomLYINGson's "thaw" initiative on the ballot should have to give up their personal freeze protection on their own homes if the ballot initiative passes in November. If the ones runing for re-election won't promse this, boot'em out in the local elections.

---
That Georgia Organics convention dinner at our Convention & Trade Center..the one being prepared by guest chefs (versus "Ovation")..I really want to see the "healthy" versions of the sauces the chefs make to win customer loyalty at their own restaurants.

---
Online headline/story: "Obama Picked Judge Says That Taxpayers MUST Pay For The Sex Change Of An Imprisoned Murderer  *  The Obama-appointed U.S. District Court Judge Jon Tigar ruled that denying a gender reassignment surgery to 51-year-old Michelle- Lael Norsworthy was a violation of her Constitutional rights." -- Good grief.. exactly what Amendment did our forefathers tuck that into? It's bad enough that NERO-bamageddon ignores the Constitution, but we cannot afford judges who do..

---
Latest e-mail from Hillary: "The differences between Senator Sanders and me" --  what... you thought she had an answer?

---
L-E story: "The Georgia Senate voted to approve a bill on Wednesday that would increase the minimum amount of money doled out to high school graduates through the state’s HOPE scholarship program. * State senators voted 51 to four on the bill, which would set the minimum amount at $2,000 per semester paid out to students through the program. The bill was sponsored by state Sen. Charlie Bethel, R -Dalton." -- Good grief.. all that's been done is insure higher costs for everyone! What needs to be passed is a law making colleges justify the costs per hour for classes.. that and a cap on what professor required books for classes  can be.. One of my daughter's books for this current semester has a "rental" fee of over $400.00 and it's a paper back book.. Surely a standard curriculum book could be the required reading..

L-E story: " Columbus Council debated, discussed and heard presentations concerning the Columbus Aquatic Center for two-and-a-half sometimes tense hours Tuesday night before determining they would need a special-called work session in March to discuss it further." -- Hey Mayor TomLYINGson... why don't you apply the same "logic" as she did about saving $500K by eliminating half the garbage pick ups.. .. by eliminating half the garbage being used to justify the Aquatic Center's existence.. Hey,, why not charge for parking ...and while you;re at it, figure up how much is need to be charged to actual users toi generate the needed break-even revenues... and charge that nmuch!

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Sunny Shah defrauded IRS of $1.3 million, allowing him to make generous political campaign contributions to Congressman Bishop and wife, Sheriff Darr and Marshal Countryman. Shouldn’t these contributions be returned to the IRS?" --  "Shouldn’t these contributions be returned to the IRS"? Hell, no! IRS employees who processed these should be held responsible and accountable.. That was not their money.. it is OURS!

---
L-E "headLIE": "MAN CHARGED IN BURNING DEATH OF MISSISSIPPI WOMAN" -- Good grief.. That was no man.. he's worse than a rabid animal!

---
L-E story: "Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel’s conviction for a 1975 murder was the result of a myriad of poor decisions by his trial lawyer, who failed to tell jurors that his brother might have committed the killing, Skakel’s appellate attorney told the Connecticut Supreme Court on Wednesday. *  Skakel, 55, a nephew of Robert F. Kennedy’s widow, Ethel, had been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. But a judge in 2013 ordered a new trial after finding that defense attorney Michael Sherman failed to adequately represent his client." -- Good grief.. how about a compromise.. let's retry Senator Ted Kennedy on the basis that the prosecution "failed to adequately represent his client"... the citizens of Massachusetts and the rest of the US. While we're at it, let's retry OJ on the same prosecutorial  inadequacy.

---
L-E editorial headline/content: "Council sends ‘freeze’ issue to state — again  * Columbus Council did not vote Tuesday night to phase out the Columbus Consolidated Government’s property tax assessment freeze. The city doesn’t have that authority. " -- Is the L-E perhaps waking up to Mayor TomLYINGson's chicanery?  Well, we can hope that's what this is.. either way, she's pretty much gotten what she wanted all along.. an opportunity to repeal the GA Constitutional Amendment that is the only protection homeowners have to contain a "tax & spend" Mayor.. Should the ballot initiative "pass", then  any court could order the dismantling of the "ongoing" existing freeze, as could Council.. with,  as Red McDaniel would be so apt to state..,  6 votes, Council can do about anything it pleases.

---
Hey, Mayor TomLYINGson.. if you need new garbage truck, then set aside that $500K you're saving from the "garbage budget" each year to buy more garbage trucks.. We are already being taxed as well as "fee'd" that much..

---

Recently, the L-E did an interview with our Civic Center Executive Director. There was one question the L-E did not ask that should have been... who did he give free tickets to the Elton John Concert?

Trump wins Nevada.. so did the Republican Party... ..over 75,000 turn out versus 32,000 in 2012. On the other hand.. in the 2016 Democrat Nevada Caucus, only 12,000 showed up,

---
Online headlinestory: "Bernie Sanders: Pope Francis is a socialist  * Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is a big fan of Pope Francis, whom he considers to be a socialist." -- Hmmm an authentic pot/kettle analogy. Hmmm.. maybe Bernie's white hair is tribute to Poop Francis' white hat.

---
Online headline/story: "Newt Gingrich slammed 'Fox & Friends' for giving Donald Trump a massive platform  *
"This time the billionaire is spending the least amount of money and running away with this thing," co-host Brian Kilmeade said, according to Media Matters. It's going to make people...  *  "Well, but that's because of you guys," Gingrich interjected.  * "Donald Trump gets up in the morning, tweets to the entire planet at no cost, picks up the phone, calls you, has a great conversation for about eight minutes, which would have cost him a ton in commercial money and meanwhile his opponents are all out there trying to raise the money to run an ad. Nobody believes the ad." -- You know.. I expected better from Newt.. Fox gave Newt plenty of "free" airtime when he was Speaker of the House and as a presidential candidate. Besides, it's not Trump's "fault" that he can command  "free" airtime.. it demonstrates Trump's grasp of the situation and his ability to market himself without wasting money, and that, mu friends, is the kind of person we need leading this country out of the Socialist quagmire of the Democratic Party.

---
Watched some of the Council meeting last night... our City Manager said that if Council came up with $500K for the Aquatic Center, the problems would be resolved..WRONG! Coming up with $500K would maybe solve the current issue, but what about next year etc. You know.. no specific facility is successful if it doesn't attract enough users who's fees pay for it to stay open.

---
You know, both the City and School System are strained by after school program costs. Perhaps parents who are not employed be responsible for caring for their children after school would help with the care costs for children of working parent(s).

---
NERO-bamageddon says if we close GITMO, we can try, prosecute, and contain terrorists in one of our maximum security jails , and...(there's always an "and" with NERO-bamageddon), if we do it right, there won't be any problems. Hmmm..the key word words here are "if we do it right". What can NERO-banageddon point to that he's ever "done right".

---
Has anybody at CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, or NBC bothered to ask NERO-bamageddon what the affect of putting the 60 worst terrorists in a position to influence/recruit new terrorists from among the worst criminals we have in captivity?

---
It's scary that Hillary has a better than 50% negative opinion nationwide. Even scarier is that only 20% in the poll group had a negative opinion of Bernie,  a self-declared Socialist.

---
Online story: " Monday night Donald Trump made it clear that as President he would prosecute Hillary Clinton. " -- Hmmm--- I just believe Trump has won.. the polls will be overwhelmed in November by folks who haven't had a reason to vote for anyone as a president since Reagan.

---
From the "oxyMORONic" department - Online story: "ATLANTA | A recent law designed to protect children against obscene text messages and emails was termed unconstitutional Monday by an attorney defending a Camden County man awaiting trial. * Mark Bennett, one of the attorneys for Jack Bernard Scott argued before the Georgia Supreme Court that free speech protections allow an adult to talk dirty to a child as long as the child isn’t harmed." -- "as long as the child isn’t harmed"?  I have intentionally included one of the attorneys name.. other clients/potential clients should know what this attorney feels about what might or might not hurt clients own children.

---
Could not believe that Council voted 9-1 on sending a new "freeze attack" edict to our legislators. especially with them not having a copy to read until one day before voting on it.. Anybody running against any of the 9, let me know..except for Bruce Huff.. he will get my full support if anybody runs against him.

---
I also believe we should demand a ballot initiative amendment that if the Mayor gets her "thaw", then the two "LOST" sales taxes be rescinded.. both were passed to address specific revenue shortages which could not be attained under the "freeze".

---
You know... if black communities cooperated with the police, street thugs would not have havens to rule over.. a major problem is "neighbors" who will not "snitch" when not doing so endangers them and their families. "Black Lives Matter" could actually be positively effective if it made it's presence part of crime blighted neighborhoods in cooperation WITH the police.

L-E headline/story: "Georgia Organics comes to Columbus *  The 19th annual Georgia Organics Conference returns to the city — having been here in 2012 as well — for a mix of educational seminars, farm tours, a vendor expo and what is known as a Farmer’s Feast — a meal fit for a safe and healthy diet prepared by top chefs. *  “We wanted to come to Columbus specifically for the growth that we’ve already seen in this movement in Columbus,” said James Carr, communications coordinator with Georgia Organics, the Atlanta-based advocacy organization holding the conference at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center." -- Whoa! I'm curious as how outside caterers are serving food in the Trade Center.. I was under the impression that Aramark did all the food services there, and I was wondering how anyone could get a "healthy" Aramark menu..

From the "kiss-of-death" department - Online headline: "Bob Dole endorses 2016 hopeful" -- Whew... it wasn't Trump.. tough luck Marco.

---
Online headline: "ISIS is losing its most crucial recruiting tool" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought it would be NERO-bamageddon will be leaving within the year, and the next president WILL cross those red lines he drew in the sand.

---
From the "just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Iranian Media Outlets Add To Bounty On Author Salman Rushdie" --  Hmmm... just a subtle reminder for Rushdie to remember why he's paranoid.

---
These deep space probes.. wonder if anyone has thought about whatever is sent out will be obsolete before it gets to where  it's going?

---
Good grief.. First there should be forensic audit on all garbage related costs versus revenues assigned from the budget plus the fees added to our water bills. Next, there should be an audit of the savings aspect Mayor TomLYINGson stated would happen when pick-ups were halved, and third, there should be an audit on the fuel usage/savings since fuel has plummeted in costs the past 8 months, and last, but not least, there should be an audit of why it's now taking four days of garbage runs to make once a week pick ups when 4 days was enough to pick garbage up twice before this.

---
L-E headline: "City may conduct special audit of aging garbage truck fleet" -- Good grief..

---
Good grief...the liberal analysts are stumbling all over themselves trying to spin the small Nevada turnout. The truth simply that Hillary has lost her base, and Reid cannot produce the numbers in his own state.

---
Brown University students are protesting that having to do homework stresses them out because it takes time away from their social activism. Maybe parents should yank them out of school and save what's left of their retirement account.

---
Apple needs to step up to the plate and help the FBI against terrorism. Apple has pretty much admitted it has the capabilities already, and refusing to help basically looks like a marketing ploy to encourage terrorists to use more iPhones.. Hmm.. you know there is a solution to make Apple rethink about whether or not it wants to be patriotic.. the feds could have TSA confiscate all iPhones at flight check ins based on the possibility that they are being used to transfer terrorist messages.

---
Finally..the Republican politicos are rethinking Trump.. Both McCarthy and Priebus are saying they will fully support whomever wins the nomination because the Republicans' majorities in Congress cannot change things for the better unless they can work with the White House. Doh! Then let's see the RNC start guiding Republican congressional/senate candidates to start talking like Trump.

---
Nicorette Minis...how would popping a nicotine"lozenge" help you quit smoking? All.it does is keep feeding your nicotine addiction and making it harder to "man up" and beat that addiction. I mean, what do you do if you run out of Nicorette lozenges...bum a cigarette while you go to the store at 3:00 AM to buy some more?

---
We're halfway home.. the GA Senate passed a bill giving pastors the right to not perform same sex marriages, and the the First Amendment Defense Act which protects the constitutional rights of individuals and faith-based organizations without taking away from same-sex couples or members of the LGBT community. Per Sen. Greg Kirk, R-Americus, "It is a live and let live bill." In short, it allows and protects all points of view but keeps any group from forcing it's point of view on another group..

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I am one of the ignorant masses. I feel that the political candidates fall into one of three categories: worst, worser and worstest." -- Hmmm looks more like this person is a victim of a public Common CRAP curriculum education.. I'm beginning to see why public education is no longer teaching kids cursive writing.. looks like they will only be able to sign their names by printing a "x" on the line.

---
From the L-E's "Today in history" feature: " Five years ago, in a major policy reversal, the Obama administration said it would no longer defend the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, a federal law banning recognition of same-sex marriage."  - Excuse me, but what Constitutional Amendment gives NERO-bamageddon... any president for that matter, the power to usurp the Constitution?

---
NERO-bamageddon is living another lie this week.. he's going to Cuba.. it wasn't that long ago that he promised he would not go there until there were appreciable improvements in individual Cubans' freedoms initiated.

---

From the "we're doomed" department - L-E story: "ALBANY, N.Y. — The mayor (now 28) eof Ithaca wants his city in upstate New York to host the nation’s first supervised injection facility, enabling heroin users to shoot illegal drugs into their bodies under the care of a nurse without getting arrested by police."  -- I think the mayor needs to be the first injectee, and the syringe be loaded with an overdose quantity.  Once this happens, the whole idea can be scrapped and the mayor can be the "poster child" for doing so. Do you think the mayor even considered the liability law-abiding citizens would face? Hmmm, do you think the mayor is even old enough to care about law-abiding citizens' concerns?

Monday, February 22, 2016

Wanna see if Hillary CAN tell the truth? Then ask her if today is George "I cannot tell a lie"  Washington's birthday.

---
Online headline: "Chick-Fil-A Banned From The University of Nebraska Because CEO Supports Traditional Marriage" -- So Nebraska defines "freedom of speech" as not speaking freely of your beliefs. yet doesn't prohibit protests by those speaking freely of their discontent at the 1st Amendment rights of all people. Isn't the definition of a university as being a place of higher learning and exploring all knowledge?

---
Online headline/story: "Governor John Kasich signs Ohio bill to cut Planned Parenthood funding  *  State and federal laws already prohibit taxpayer dollars from going to fund abortions, with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. *  Planned Parenthood immediately fired back to the news, as the organization's president Cecile Richards claimed the bill will "have devastating consequences for women across Ohio." -- Hmmm.. if "State and federal laws already prohibit taxpayer dollars from going to fund abortions, with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother", then what is Planned Parenthood's argument.. that Kasich and the Ohio legislature don't think Ohio taxpayers should be forced to contribute to the salaries of Planned Parenthood's executives, lobbyists, fund raisers, and paid protesters?

---
From the "how do we rewrite history as it happens" department - On line story: "Fending off an unexpectedly strong challenge from Bernie Sanders, Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton notched a narrow but momentum-building victory in the Nevada caucuses on Saturday, averting a second consecutive loss to the progressive insurgent and boosting her campaign's hopes that the tide will turn in her favor as Democrats in demographically diverse states have their say." -- "unexpectedly strong challenge from Bernie Sanders"? In other words: Democrat voters would like to vote "yes or no" on Hillary.

---
Incredibly ignorant LIV's (or City employee's/GA DOT connected) L-E "soundoff": "Sorry to disappoint one of the perpetual doomsayers, but folks are doing just fine with roundabouts. Maybe those folks in Green Island or speeding down River Road can’t handle change." -- Hmmm... how about naming one other roundabout that has to handle top-heavy logging trucks braking down from 45 MPH into as "un" or "reverse banked" S-curve and having to accelerate while making a right turn while it's load is centrifugally going the opposite way.

"momentum-building victory in the Nevada caucuses on Saturday, averting a second consecutive loss"? -- Good grief.. now "they" are trying to spin that Hilary won Iowa.. Give the 700 or so votes that DEmocrats gave O'Malley because they didn't like either Hillary or Bernie, toss out the "coin tosses", and Hillary becomes 1 & 2 against "anybody but Hillary". Additionally, who wants to take the Las Vegas odds that Reid was using "loaded dice" to get Hillary a win in the Nevada "Crap Shoot"?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline": "Democratic candidate wins Nevada" -- Good grief..like there was a Republican in there race? Sorta reminds me of a joke of the 60's. Russia challenged the US to a one-on-one car race to determine who made the best and fastest car. Of course, the US car set a course record and the Russian car sputtered at the start line and dies. THe next days Moscow headlines read: "Russia comes in second; the USA finishes next to last"

---
I'm going to have to look closely at next years "Girl Scout Cookies" ingredients before I buy any.. The boxes of "Peanut Butter Patties" read "Crispy vanilla cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolaty coating".. "chocolaty"? And the "Thin Mints"..remember that rich dark cholate coating? Well, no more.. it's a "chocolaty" coating as well.. now it looks like "powder coat brown".

---
You know, with all the coverage of every aspect, of every nook and cranny being searched for some kind of story, has anyone seen a mainscream media reporting about how black voters perceive Dr Ben Carson?

---
Online headline: "Donald Trump viciously attacks Obama for missing Scalia's funeral" -- and people wonder why Trump has the American ear.... Mainscream media and the Democrat Party candidates should have been the loudest in protesting NERO-bamageddon's snub. It's not like NERO-bamageddon had anything more pressing.. his excuse about reviewing replacement resumes was BS.. in fact, he should have made an issue of buying Justice Scalia before he was going to discuss/analyze any options.

---
Once again. Trump wins... have any of the naysayers even though to consider how many votes Trump could get if he spent as much money as his fellow Republican candidates do? Guess the difference is Trump is spending his own money and the rest are doing all they know how to do.. spend other people's money.. and throwing good money at a problem thinking it will actually change reality.

---
Online headline/story: "Ancient flower discovered in 30-million-year-old amber * Asterids are particularly notable on that count, as among the celebrated members of its sort, such as coffee and tomatoes, lurk the deadly flowers that yield strychnine and curare. * A flower found in up to 30-million-year-old fossilized amber has been confirmed as a unique Asterid species, as well as its oldest known member. *  Researchers are also rather confident the well-preserved bloom was poisonous and belongs to the notoriously fatal Strychnos genus. * Scientists involved in the study believe the transformation from benign, delicate flower to stealthy killer was likely motivated by the need for self-preservation." -- "motivated by the need for self-preservation"? Good grief.. and we are to believe "scientists" can explain "climate change" and "the Big Bang" better than God? These "scientists" are basically saying that this asterid must have "thought" it needed a defense mechanism, and passed this "thought" on to successive generations.

---
Hey, Mayor TomLYINGson.. I had to pay for parking at the Civic Center when I attended Disney on Ice Saturday.. how come you're not charging for parking when people use the Aquatics Center?

---
Congressman Bishop's letter is the absolute pits! His calling the crime "Operating an Illegal Check Cashing Operation" just demonstrates how out of touch Bishop is with reality.. The felon was scamming the tax payers through an IRS fraud scheme> Of course, Bishop also "feels" that when he presents those oversized photo-op taxpayer backed checks to private organizations that the money is coming out of his own personal wallet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Online headline: "Edward Snowden will return to US if guaranteed 'fair trial'"  -- "guaranteed 'fair trial'"? By who's definition?  Or does he really mean "guaranteed favorable verdict"? You know.. Snowden's act was not selfless... a lot of people and their families were endangered... and no jury should be required/expected to overlook his actions.

---
Online headline: "Hillary: 'I don't believe' I've lied" -- Good grief.. Hillary can't even.. well, won't, tell the truth about lying..Listening to a NERO-bamageddon "State of the Union" speech was agonizing, but having to listen to a Hillary "State of the Union " speech would be intolerable!

---
Within minutes of Jeb Bush dropping out of the presidential race Saturday night, some of his donors were preparing to throw their financial support behind Marco Rubio, who has emerged as the strongest candidate among the establishment wing of the party. * "Jeb's network is already naturally migrating to Marco," said Gaylord Hughey, a top Bush fundraiser from Texas, echoing what four other top donors told Reuters. "It's the clear path. * "It's a stampede," added another donor" -- You know.. one of the reasons Jeb donors would "stamped" to Rubio is that Trump won't take their money or give them influence...I wish "they" would take their money, instead,  to the market place and create more jobs for non-political candidates.

---
Hillary is feeling "the Bern", but more importantly, Hillary is really feeling "the burn". She is unexpectedly "burning" through her campaign funds during the primaries, and collateral damages will be that traditional Democrat/Socialist donors are feeling Hillary is not the "shoo in" they thought a year ago.

---
L-E headline/story: "Rep. Rogers to be challenged by Larry DiChiara  *  Rogers, 57, touts his experience while DiChiara, 58, points to 34 years as an educator, fixing troubled school districts. * DiChiara said he had just finished an assignment from the State Department of Education at Selma City School District when he was approached by a group to run for Congress. *  “They know I’ve shown courage, I have integrity"  -- I rarely coment on Alabama stuff, But I have a different ideal of courage and integrity...If I'd been a school superintendent, and a school board didn't agree with what I knew was needing to be done,. I'd have left without demanding a contract buy out.

---
Speaking of recent Alabama displays of DiChiara "courage and integrity", that former Alabama State coach who signed to coach at Carver here in Columbus, but then stated he would abandon that job if he was offered one at a Montgomery, AL school.. what's the situation with our school boar and him? I hope to see where he's been fired regardless of his status with the Montgomery school.

---
On the other hand, I'd fully support Phenix City's Mayor Eddie Lowe moving to Columbus and running for mayor here...

---
A Hillary's Legacy incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Every speech that Hillary receives pay for, she gives those proceeds to charities, unlike her Republican counterparts." -- Good grief! What the Clinton's do is have the check for their speaking engagements go directly to one of their foundations which makes paying them a tax deductible donation for the corporations, and eliminates income tax on the Clintons. Heck, even Bernie will have a hard time trying to get his clutches on that money Ask her how much money from the foundation pays for her living/travel expenses (with no tax responsibility for her) versus how much actually gets to a child in need.

---
Triple-double stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Once again, as usual, gun lobbyists, gun worshippers, and the puppets they placed in government are at odds with law enforcement. That’s understandable, since the gun lobby is the criminal’s best friend." -- Good grief.. the gun=using criminals' bets friend is the American Bar Association members who work hard at getting them back on the street through plea bargains and trail technicalities.

---
From the "wisdom that has never graced the walls of a Clinton office" department - L-E's " Thought for Today":  “It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.” — President George Washington (1732-1799)." -- No further explanation needed.

---
L-E headline: "Pope to Catholic leaders: Don’t allow executions this year" -- Good grief.. what's Poop Francis trying to do.. get all death row murderers to convert to Catholicism?

---
L-E headline: "Rubio, Cruz jostle for ‘alternative-to-Trump’ vote" -- You know.. even if one of these two could.. should ..overtake Trump and win the nomination, they will have a hard time getting Trump supporters to go to the polls in November.. no one likes it when many people gang-up on one person.  Besides, it's Trump that's bringing record numbers of voters out to the Republican primaries as it is. Personally, I think Rubio and Cruz should be trying to win support away from Trump, not trying to bash him, if either wants to win in November.
You know, a Trump supporter who doesn't go to the polls in November essentially casts a vote for Hillary.

---
While referencing an opinion of mine the Columbus L-E's Tim Chitwood writes: "Get a job, Charlie Brown, and you'll know why some of us complete assignments by deadlines." -- :"compete assignments by deadlines"?  -- Good grief.. straight from the "horses mouth  (well or another part of his anatamy ) No wonder the L-E stories are so inferior,, it prints stories based on a time schedule rather than whether they are complete and or factual.. Oh, and he should be REAL careful to proof read how the L-E spells his name.. .because the L-E is always in too much of a hurry to get it to the  printer.

---
The following illustrates how the Republican Party has lost touch with the needs of America's working voters.. What we are seeing is how the Republican Party has disappointed conservatives .. the REpublicam Party must think coming in second is "winning" as the Republican Party feels the primaries are about whether it's Rubio or Cruz that finishes second to Trump.

--
At a congregational meeting at our church yesterday, the facilitator suggested that if you were told you were going on a trip, you'd probably ask "where to" so you would know what to pack.. he threw out destinations of either Chicago or Miami.. Hey, I think I'd be "packing" the same gun to either place.

---
L-E headline: "Toyota follows Cup title with first Daytona 500 victory" -- Whoa.. Toyota won a NASCAR race.. man, that would have upset the whole country music industry if that happened in the 60s/70s.

Could you see Robert Mitchum driving a Toyota in "Thunder Road"?

Hey, Mayor TomLYINGson...looking for more tax revenue? How about looking under your nose.. THe old Swift Denim Mill... the one at 1506 6th Avenue... it's assessed at over $4.3 MILLION , no homestead exemption, but only pays $3979.30 in property taxes. That's less than 1/1088 of assessed value. If my home were taxed at that percent, my taxes would be only $319.00 instead of $5,196.92. I guess it's because we aren't buddies..

Soapbox Moment:

Online story: "You can trick your whip all you want, but GM says that car is still theirs, no matter what you’ve paid. In a hearing this week, General Motors attorney Harry Lightsey said that purchasing and paying off your GM vehicle is a license agreement and not ownership. * The U.S Copyright Office is holding a hearing on whether anyone other than the vehicle’s manufacturer has the right to alter the that car’s copyrighted software. With modern design being what it is, this means almost altering anything about the vehicle. * Mechanics and private owners are saying they need to be allowed to make repairs on their vehicles to keep them running or maintain their business. But GM is saying that anyone unauthorized altering anything about the vehicle could create problems with the software and endanger the driver. This sounds more like a business ploy on the part of GM to hold a monopoly on vehicle repairs.

GM says you may own your car, but you don’t own the software, so don’t touch it!

GM’s claim is all about copyright and software code, and it’s the same claim John Deere is making about their tractors. The TL;DR version of the argument goes something like this:

Cars work because software tells all the parts how to operate
The software that tells all the parts to operate is customized code
That code is subject to copyright
GM owns the copyright on that code and that software
A modern car cannot run without that software; it is integral to all systems
Therefore, the purchase or use of that car is a licensing agreement
And since it is subject to a licensing agreement, GM is the owner and can allow/disallow certain uses or access."

This sounds pretty much like what Mercedes-Benz does..I bought a Mercedes vehicle for my bride in 2004..After the warranty ran out, there was very little my preferred private mechanics could do to repair/service it. I abhorred the local dealership's service department attitude. I vowed not to buy another MB. Just bought my bride a new  non-Mercedes vehilce.. glad I didn't buy one from GM.. I'm looking for one myself as wee.. it will not be a MB nor GM vehicle.. such policies will run independent mechanics.. you know.. the guy you trust with your safety, out of business...and end up a "number" working in a dealership service department. Oh... and I just "tossed" my John Deere hat and t-shirt..

---
It's been announced that NERO-bamageddon will not attend Justice Scalia's funeral today.. of course, first assumptions were that he had a golf game.. Not true... it's worse.. While the preists are conducting the service and comforting his family and the nation, NERO-bamageddon will be reading "poop" on who he will nominate to replace him.. Hey, NERO-bamageddon.. this could wait until the good man is actually buried.. in two words, "No Class"....or in one word, "Pathetic".

---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton: 'I don't believe' I have ever lied" -- Only Hillary would answer a question about her lying.. with a lie.. Reminds me of a 3rd grader telling her teacher "my dog ate my homework", or a politician telling us she'd never e-mailed classified info via her personal server.

---
In an interview with Scott Pelley of CBS, Hillary was asked if she always told the truth. She responded that "I tried to". Good grief...you either do or you don't, but in Hillary's case, she'd been better off saying she lied all the time..so no one would believe her.

---
Yesterday morning, a Fox anchor cited an article/opinion from "The Onion". Good grief..fire her!

---
Online headline: "Trump calls for boycott until Apple unlocks shooter's phone" -- He's right.. if Apple can do this, then Apple should.. All Apple is doing now is using the "privacy" issue to hide that Apple can do this, and it means that Apple could already be doing this to anybody's iPhone, and that there is no privacy if an employee (or Democratic Party operative) decides to go rogue. Apple could be more invasive than the NSA!

---
Online headline: "President Obama jokes: 'We know it is Black History Month when ... " -- I know.. I know! When NERO-bamageddon reads about it in the newspaper!

---
'Online headline: "Otregon set to have highest minimum wage in country * Lawmakers passed a rate hike Thursday that would raise the minimum wage from $9.25 to $14.75 an hour by 2022." -- Hmmm.. and by 2012, Oregon will have the biggest unemployment/welfare figures in the country.. industry will be creating automated solutions, and slackers will be moving into Oregon by droves.

---
Online headline: "Sanders slams GOP for racism" -- Good grief.. this coming from a guy who wants to confiscate all the working people's incomes to pay fro the "free" stuff he's promising voters, yet panders to Al Sharlatan in spite that Sharlatan owes over $4 MILLION in back taxes. Whatta hypocrite!

---
I like Sheriff Darr...I believe he has handled the jail/Sheriff's duties admirably, and I will vote for him in his re-election bid in November.. I do not understand why he would publicly support a convicted tax fraud  in sentencing. I also don't understand why Marshal Countryman or either Congressman Bishop or his wife, Muni Court Clerk Vivian, did either, but I hope the Democrat voters treat all 4 the same in November.. bet they won't, but we'll see..

---
Obviously a Common CRAP curriculum graduate LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Can you tell me one thing that the Republicans like or support? Just one thing." -- In two words, "Our Constitution". In two more words, "Your Freedoms"!

---
L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD * SMALLMAN WON’T SEEK RE-ELECTION *     Smallman and her husband, Ernie, are real estate brokers with Coldwell Banker Kennon, Parker, Duncan & Davis. Smallman also manages the investments for her husband’s corporation, Whitewater Realty, which does commercial and residential business. *  Smallman and her husband own property in three of the four originally proposed TADs the Columbus Council has considered, she said. After researching the law and speaking to attorneys, she determined her position could be a conflict of interest." -- "speaking to attorneys"? Good grief.. this sorta explains why we have so little confidence in an elected school board.. who but a politician needs to consult an attorney about common sense and "doing  the right thing"?

You know.. I can find large SUVs in abundance, but finding a large sedan in nigh impossible unless you're going to spend 6-figures on one. Why don't American manufacturers learn they "can kill 2 birds with one stone" by making large sized sedans. It would reduce the number of large SUV's being sold to people who just want some room in their vehicle for their families to be comfortable.. and at the same time, a large sedan should get better mileage than a large SUV which would help them meet or exceed government MPG standards.

Online story: "Pope Francis on Thursday suggested using artificial contraception in countries afflicted with the Zika virus would be OK for women worried with how the disease is linked to rare birth defects.
Calling it a "lesser of two evils," Francis indicated that choosing to avoid pregnancy altogether would be the better alternative to abortion." -- "lesser of two evils"? Poop Francis has now determined God is "OK" with the "lesser of two evils"? Where'd he find that passage.... in the Quran?

---
Poop Francis says Trump cannot be Christian because he wants to build a wall to keep people out. Let me get this straight..Poop Francis lives in a completely walled compound! Guess Poop Francis isn't so much a Christian since doesn't even keep his gates open, much less considers tearing down the walls.

---
Hey, Poop Francis, are illegal aliens who cross borders and violate the 10 Commandments Christians?

---
From the "see what happens when you put your foot down" department - Online story: "North Carolina has joined a growing list of states that have spent huge sums of money to drug test welfare recipients in order to make sure they weren't wasting government money on drugs -- only to find out that they rarely use drugs." -- You know, when people wanting handouts understand the consequences of their actions, they will alter their behavior. It's time we make extensive changes to the death sentence being used quickly and a lot more often when thugs use guns in street crimes. I;m pretty sure there'd be a huge drop in gun related street deaths.

---
A body guard for Geraldo Rivera was arrested in Baltimore last May for not having a Maryland issued gun carry permit... and is still in jail.  Hmmm..then how come were there rioters/protesters/criminals on the streets during the insurrection?

---
Whatta conflict of interest..a guy couple standing outside a San Francisco Apple Store holding up a sign saying "No Backdoor"

---
Good grief...Yesterday afternoon, I got a robo-call from the Columbus Consolidated Government asking me to go online and register/update my warning/alert info. DOH! I answered the phone...my phone..guess it didn't register that if I answered this phone that obviously my info IS up-to-date! Looks like Mayor TomLYINGson has found another wat=y to waste our taxdollars!

---
A Marco Rubio ad says he "outsmarted" the Democrats on Obamacare..huh? How...? I really want to know how Rubio thinks he thinks he "outsmarted" anybody but himself?

---
Online story: "There will be no vote on forming a city government on St. Simons Island and Sea Island this year after state Rep. Jeff Jones, R-St. Simons, withdrew his support for a bill that would establish a November referendum on a city charter.  * Jones said in a release, “...it is abundantly clear that the legislation is so onerous and has so many problems that I have withdrawn my support for the legislation at this time." -- Hmmm... sounds a whole lot like the situation Mayor TomLYINGson has created... Columbus citizens.. contact your State Reps and Senators and end her madness!

---*
I have questions about a purported Republican based poll that says 39% of Republicans would not vote for Trump under any circumstance... The poll is being misinterpreted.. What it actually says is on 39% support another Republican candidate 100%, while 61% like Trump.

---
Gov Haley has endorsed Rubio.. I question her judgement for endorsing any candidate, but since when does the endorsement by a 1st term governor for a first Senator really matter... especially a governor who supports McCain and Graham.

---
Online story: "Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), a superdelegate, is asking voters to help him decide which presidential candidate to back.  * The liberal firebrand, who’s running for Florida's open Senate seat, is holding an online poll where supporters can decide whether he should support Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders at the party convention in July." -- Good grief.. what a disgrace.. even for a Democrat.. an (_*_) who has to see which way the wind is blowing BEFORE he climbs up on the fence!

---
Online headline: "Footage of Bernie Sanders' arrest allegedly found * Newspaper reports from 1963 reveal the senator of Vermont was arrested as a student, and now a film company claims it has found video of the incident." -- Hallelujah!  Now maybe Hillary will finally "fess up" so she'll have more arrests than Bernie to brag about...

---
How about that soccer referee in Argentina being killed by a player for "red carding" him? Guess during the  in the future, after the ref kicks a few shins in the pre-game inspections, the ref might also kick a few players in the crotch to see if they are "carrying".

---
L-E headline/story: "Group discusses race in Columbus * Hundreds show up for community discussion, play *  As moderator of a conversation at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, Dr. Robert Wright asked panelists to imagine what it was like for blacks living in the Jim Crow South. *  The first scenario that he presented was of a cross burning in a woman’s yard. * In the play, actor Tarantino Smith dramatized Richard Wright’s journey from childhood innocence to adulthood in the Jim Crow South. *  About 100 people showed up for the discussion, and 425 for the play. Though a few white people attended, it was mostly a black audience" -- " a few white people attended"? Good grief.. when the black community is ready to talk about the future and solutions, the white community will respond en masse, but when it looks like the conversation is only going to bash their ancestors, the white community is not going to be a part of it. This just continues the parade of black speakers that have been brought in recently that include this and a preacher from a church that gave us the Reverend Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright, and Fractured-Historian Sheila Jackson Lee. You do not solve problems by keeping your eye on the stumbling blocks behind us.. all that does is insure we want see the same stumbling blocks that are in front of us.

---
Stunningly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   The Aquatic Center is definitely an investment in our children. Along with facilitating children’s swim teams, they’re teaching swimming lessons to underprivileged MCSD students. If it saves one child from drowning, it’s worth the investment." -- ""if it saves one child from drowning"? Good grief.. haven't the entitlement seekers learned anything about government inefficiency?  What loving parents would trust a government employee to teach their children how to swim?

---
Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff:: "It is an insult to the American people when the Republicans put down everything that our elected commander-in-chief has to decide upon." -- Good grief.. the Republicans, and patriotic taxpayers are all the soldiers have who stand up for them! There's not a Democrat who would cut an entitlement program to spend more money on the needs of our soldiers and veterans.

---
You know.. the Climate Change faction has cried "AlGORE" too many times for any more credibility to be given.

---
L-E headline/story: "Bill creating 2 marriage licenses clears Kentucky Senate  *  Democratic Sen. Morgan McGarvey attempted to amend the bill so the state would only have one form. *  He said having just one form would save money and would treat everyone equally." -- "treat everyone equally"? How.. by disrespecting the heterosexuals   by removing mention of the "bride & groom titles" or by disrepecting homosexuals by making them label themselves? No what the Democrats want disrespects everyone.

---
L-E headline/story: "Alva James-Johnson: A broader view of black history  *  Sometimes when Black History Month rolls around, I ask this simple question. "What percentage of African slaves actually landed in North America?" * Some people guess 20, 30, 40, 50 percent. When I tell them the answer is closer to 5 percent, they look puzzled. "If 5 percent landed in North America, what happened to the other 95 percent?" they ask.
*  That's when I inform them that 40 percent of the slaves went to the Caribbean islands, 40 percent went to Brazil and the rest ended up in other South and Central American countries." -- Hmmm... well... how about that. some Black History Month info that is factual for a change,,,all that needs to be added is that most African slaves entered the trafficking aspect by being sold to slavers by other African tribes..

---
L-E  story: "The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation has raised enough money to send 11 MCSD teachers to Project Zero Classroom, July 18-22, at Harvard's Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Mass. *  It costs about $5,000, including expenses, for each MCSD teacher to attend the program," -- Hmmmm... wouldn't it be a better use of money to give each of these teachers a $2,500.00 stipend and another $2,500.00 account to buy needed teaching tools/supplies and send them into schools that don't perform as well as the ones they are currently assigned?

---
In a "Letter to the Editor" a writer with self-interests in the Aquatic Center writes: "I have written to the paper previously about the Columbus Aquatic Center. The problem which seems to never go away is the cost of operating the center for the full 89 hour schedule, or having to cut that time frame in half due to budgeting restraints. * The bottom line, and what appears to be the council's stubborn opinion, is the city has no money available, and therefore passes the buck back to Parks and Recreation Director James Worsley. * Why build an aquatic center if the city had no idea how much it was going to cost to operate it? -- Hmmm.. No, Mr Writer, you should be the one paying adequate fees to keep the Aquatic Center open all the hours that are convenient to YOU! If the Aquatic Center was of true interest to more citizens, use fees would pay for it being open at the times that YOU want for your own interests. Man -up,, and pay what it takes to keep it open.. or shut up.

---
L-E headline from movie reviews: "No surprises in ‘Risen’" -- Good grief.. it's about time Hollywood stopped revising the events of the Bible to suit their own tastes..it's also nice that a reviewer has actually read the Bible.

Online headline: "White House: Obama will not attend Justice Scalia's funeral" -- In two words, "No Class".

---
Online headline: "Obama to make historic trip to Cuba in coming weeks, official says" -- In two words, "No Class".

---
You know what's wrong with public education.....the concept has been corrupted. What started out as an opportunity for all children to get a quality "free education"  has become little more than an exercise in blanket distribution of "free" diplomas.

---
You know, I do not think Apple is standing up for our rights..if Apple has the ability to get into its product line's storage, it should share this with the government as a show of unity against terrorism. The "big brother" defense is awkward, at best, because if this is something Apple can do, then there's no protection for us that Apple, or a rogue Apple employee, or an outside hacker can and will do this at some time to any of us.

---
I didn't ride by there yesterday but this is truly on my mind: Whittlesey Road....what is going on? It's already a year behind schedule, and yet this past Tuesday, a day when the sun shown brightly, and the temperature was in the mid-60s, not one man or machine was on the job trying to finish this debacle of government efficiency. Why doesn't someone on our Council stand up and demand to know why this hasn't been finished?

---
Jeb Bush needs to pack it in.. he claims that no one can "insult" their way into the White House. We know he was making inferences towards Trump, but both Bernie and Hillary do nothing but insult working Americans by promising to make us pay for their campaign give-away promises.

---
I just listened to Bush waste an interview talking about why he doesn't feel Trump is qualified versus why he is better qualified to be president.

---
The Westminster "Best in Show" was on Fox and Friends.. Steve Doucy had the sound man play Hillary's barking like a dog clip. The Westminster "Best in Show" jumped up like he'd heard a "bitch in heat" calling..The dog's smart, too.

---
L-E headline: "POPE URGES LEADERS TO RETHINK IMMIGRATION" -- Hey, Poop Francis.. why don't you open the walled fortress of Vatican City and take them all in! Do something with the church's money other than buy silk slippers.

---
The other day, when some version of the crime rates in Columbus, GA were published, some thug justified the number of auto thefts by saying that it would be lower if people didn't leave their cars running with the doors unlocked. Excuse me, leaving your car running with the doors unlocked is not a crime.. getting into someone else's car that's running and stealing it is a crime. Control yourself!

---
Beyond incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " President Obama has the authority of selecting the next Supreme Court Justice, not Mitch McConnell. Appoint one who protects Americans’ rights, not corporations and Wall Street." -- Hmm like Sotomayor or Kagan? Good grief.. all the Republicans want is someone who protects the rights our founding fathers took the time to write out in our Constitution...

---
Ignorant LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Two generals. One commanded the Army of the Confederacy. One commanded the Union Army and went on to become president. Would you like to guess which one opposed slavery and which one actually owned slaves?" -- I guess this is a trick question.. Both Grant and Lee owned slaves. Now, what was the issue?

---
Stupid.. incredibly stupid, LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Thomas Jefferson said the downfall of our nation would be led by someone draped in the flag carrying the Constitution in one hand and Bible in the other. Wake up, conservative Republicans." -- If someone draped themselves in our flag and waved both the Constitution and the Bible and caused the downfall of this country.. it would be a Socialist Democrat.. open your eyes to Obama and Hillary or Bernie...  but would the writer please cite the Jefferson "quote"... this sounds more like a Biblical warning for false prophets...

---
There's a lot of conversation about the Flint, MI water pipes in the news, but we sure have a lot of water/sewer pipe issues going on in Columbus.. We were informed about the 11th Strret issue, but  there's huge activity near the intersection of 13th /Linwood/17th. I remember the CWW blackmailing us to the tune of $67+/- Million dollars in the mid-90's that was to fix "all the issues".

---
L-E headline: "Michael Brown’s family pushes for Missouri body camera bill" -- Yeah. right.. I wish more than tem that Officer Wilson had been equipped with a camera..we all saw the tape of Michael stealig cigars and pummeling the shop owner.

---
L-E editorial content: "The University System of Georgia Board of Regents had some very good news Tuesday for tens of thousands of Georgia college students and their families: For the first time in 14 years, tuition will not be increased at the state’s 29 public colleges and universities." -- Good news? Good grief.. Tuition has become a minor piece of the total costs of a freshman year away.. I use the "freshman year away " because out of town freshmen are required to stay in a campus owned/approved dorm. hose dorm rooms are usually about 300 sq ft and have two person living in them.. At my daughter's GA university, her dorm costs $2,900.00 per 4 months.. required food plans cost %1500-$1900 for 4 months, there's an additional "mandatory fee schedule" that ads another $1,000.00 foir the 4 months and then there's "books". If the GA Legislature wanted to hold down costs, freezing "tuition" is a minor part of it.. For the most part, the University System rapes parents more on the cost of educating their children by the "other costs". How about protecting us on those.

---
L-E headline: "CSU to offer dance minor starting in the fall" -- Hmmm... now that will be impressive on a McDonald's job application.... NOT!

---
L-E story: "Columbus Police said they found urine, feces, bugs and trash throughout the Eagles Trace apartment Crystal Grace Clark and Hakeem Ali Webster shared with their three children for about two years.
 * Clark, 26, pleaded not guilty today in Columbus Recorder's Court to three counts of cruelty to children related to the incident. Authorities are still searching for 28-year-old Webster, a 5-foot-7 tall black man who was issued arrest warrants for the same charges."-- Hey, "Black Lives Matter". put thos in your pipe and smoke it.. this is what.. and where... you should protesting!

L-E headline: "Carver football coach Reggie Barlow says he will accept Sidney Lanier job if offered" -- Coaching.. teaching.. is about commitment.. Hey, MCSD.. why wasn't he fired immediately upon notifying you!

Online story: "The woman who accused Eliot Spitzer of choking her at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on Saturday recanted and apologized in an email before flying back to her native Russia, according to the former governor's lawyer" -- Wonder how much Spitzer paid for that plane ticket...

---
From the "oxymoron development office of the department of government intelligence" department - Online story: "The Department of Energy (DOE) announced Monday it will provide $7 million in technical support for solar power to Native Alaskan tribes, especially those in the far north. *  The parts of Alaska where the DOE intends to spend the cash have nearly 24 hours of darkness in the winter, which is precisely when Alaskans need the most electricity. Alaska has nearly 24 hours of sunlight during the summer, but that’s when demand for power is at its lowest point as there’s no need to crank up the heat. Alaska’s harsh winters make the state’s per capita energy consumption the third highest in the nation." -- any other words aren't necessary....

---
Are the establishment Republicans trying to blow this election by wanting to make 2016 a "referendum" year for whom nominates a new Supreme Court Justice? Idiots! Making this an issue will motivate more fringe voters than either Hillary OR Bernie. Besides, the, no..our Constitution is very clear about the process, so Republicans just need to show it will follow the guidelines set by our founding fathers and prove Republicans support our Constitution every day... and  in every way.

---
When Jeb Bush talked about his mom during the debate, and how she was so great.. I agreed with him.. so did Trump.. Trump even suggested she should run instead of Jeb.. I'd vote for her...

---
I tell you what.. if Bernie doesn't win the Democratic Party nomination and the White House, then he surel will have Drew Carey worried about his job on "The Price Is Right". Carey's an amateur at offering people "free stuff".

---
HufPOOPOO headline/story: "The Bernie Sanders rally at Morehouse College on Tuesday evening was electric. *  Almost 5,000 people attended the event at the historically black, all-male school in Atlanta, and many chanted “Feel the Bern, feel the Bern” as the Democratic presidential candidate addressed the crowd." -- "historically black, all-male school"? Good grief.. is there no shame in the Liberalville? One only has to look into neighboring South Carolina at the discrimination suits filed against The Citadel... for being an all-male military academy...in past history..

---
You know, if NERO-bamageddon wants to attack Trump, Trump should post his personal economic growth since NERO-bamageddon took office and compare his bottom line to the increase in the National Debt NERO-bamageddon has inflicted on.thus nation.

---
Online headline: "If you’re legally blind, you can carry a weapon in Georgia" -- You know.. this is not near as scary as seeing the braille buttons on a drive-thru ATM.

---
What is it about getting excited about finishing 2nd or 3rd in a Republican primary?

---
Online story: "The Empire State has long been known for its pro-abortion laws, but the latest bill passed by the NY House takes it to a whole new level. * AB 6221 passed the State Assembly 94-49, and would expand the leniency for third trimester abortions. * If AB 6221 passes the Senate and becomes law, the wording of the abortion statute will allow full-term abortions as long as it’s“relevant to the well-being of the patient.” *  Reasons included under the new language would be, emotional, familial, age, physical, or psychological. So for example, if a potential mother feels she’s not “emotionally stable” to handle a baby two weeks before birth, New York will allow her to have an abortion. In addition, it would allow these procedures to be performed by non-doctors who would inject poison into the full-term fetuses heart to stop it." -- And Gloria Steinem feels confiscation of guns is justified if it saves the life of a single baby.. but late/full term abortions are "OK" if it’s“relevant to the well-being of the patient.” Good grief.. at 9 months, isn't the baby inside as much of a patient as the mother?

---
Buick has got to be the next GM division to "go under"... Remember when Olds started the ad campaign
This is not your father's Oldsmobile"?  Buick is basically doing the same thing.. but in truth Olds then, and Buick now, needs more fathers to be buying them.

---
Soapbox Moment: You know..there's celebration now, but there are sad things to consider as well.  The saddest thing about the new Arts Academy is that there will be so much politicking for admission.. with only 500+/- spots for K-12, children with exceptional talents will be left out based on diversity issues, and children with late blooming potential will be excluded from later entry, not to mention the students purely admitted because someone-knows-someone.  Oh, and let's not forget the crushed spirits of children who get "kicked out" if their work skills do not advance...and that will be decided by the politics of a teacher or committee.

No where in MCSD history has "be careful what you wish for" become so prophetic.

---
L-E headline: "United Way sets fundraising record * Organization celebrates reaching $7.1 million total in 2015" -- Certainly congratulations are in order for the community being so generous during tough times, but there are other matters that need to be addressed.. first is how many of the pledges will go unfulfilled, and secondly, will there be bonuses and raises paid to UW staff before moneys are distributed?

---
L-E headline: "1,130 cast ballots in Columbus’ first week of early voting" -- You know.. why is there "early voting" for private primaries? It's an unnecessary expense to the taxpayers of Columbus as we are not actually electing any candidates. The Republican and Democratic Parties's should be paying for the entire primary costs...

---
L-E headline: "RESIDENTS SEEK HELP AFTER RASH OF CRIMES IN WINDSOR PARK * About 125 question mayor, other officials at meeting" -- Hmmm. obviously Windsor Park residents.like most neighborhoods, don't believe the "pab" released about crimes rates being lower in Columbus this past year.

---
From above story: "Over the last two months, Assistant Columbus Police Chief Lem Miller said the neighborhood has experienced 24 crimes, and the entire area covering nearby neighborhoods in police beat 31 had 118 total offenses reported. Miller said auto break-ins were the top crimes occurring in the neighborhood that pushed residents to seek help from Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and police. *Before the month ends, Miller said the department hopes to have its $2.5 million records management system up and running to help police track crimes." -- "the department hopes to have its $2.5 million records management system up and running to help police track crimes"? Hmmm.. well, we can hope such a system will keep a record of the total number of people shot and do not die as well as the fatal ones. While the CPD is at it, I hope they will keep track of the tax dollars spent patching up wounded people at the Emergency Room.. that way. a bill can be sent to ObamaCRAP since they are supposed to be insured.

---
Incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I would love to have Hillary on the sales team at my company. She could sell a blind man a race car." -- Good grief.. this idiot would be out of a job and company shut down within the year.. Hillary is not a salesperson, she's a shill for a give-away scam.

---
Another stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " You can’t say we are the richest nation in the world and with the same mouth say we can’t afford a single-payer health care plan. Either we are or we aren’t." -- Good grief.. we are the wealthiest nation BECAUSE we don't have "government pay" healthcare as the primary system, but that's changing as healthcare providers/insurance companies realize that they no longer have to try to keep their costs down to be competitive. It won't be long before we have healthcare systems that look like the British, French and Canadian ones.

---
Triple-double stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Mayor Tomlinson and City Manager Hugley, as a taxpayer I would rather invest my money in the children of Columbus than in the swimming pool that will still leave you in debt." -- Hey, Dumbo, Mayor TomLYINGson and Hugley are not investing their money.. and you aren't either.. The City should be using tax dollars to  provide basic community services to keep us safe and clean.. not taking care of our children.. that's the parents' job.

---
L-E headline: "Still barking, Uno remains the most popular Westminster pooch" -- Hmmm... wonder if Uno should be running against Hillary in the rest of the primaries?

---
You know conservatives are in for a struggle because liberal writers have now started complimenting Scalia now that he's dead when they crucified him before. It must be their celebratory dance awaiting another liberal appointment by NERO-bamageddon.

---
L-E's "Online comment of the day : “It would be great to get all of them off the streets. Spending countless hour Uptown for over thirty years you can’t help but get to know faces. Some of them look so lost and some look to be very engaged in the life they have found. I see new faces in Uptown McDonalds weekly.” — From Mike Culpepper on “Chuck Williams: Is Columbus homelessness on the decline?” -- You know,, when you've gotten to "know... to recognize.. the faces" then not much has really changed.. just more "pab"...

---

L-E headline: "NO TUITION HIKE * First year without an increase since 2002" -- Good grief.. the universities know that there is limited "HOPE Scholarship " money available, and the universities also know they get away with raising dorm rates, mandatory student fees, and book costs whenever they "feel like it" without the legislature or media raising an eyebrow..
