HuffPOOPOO story: ""The only thing I wasn't No. 1 on: personality. Can you believe it? They said I'm not a nice person," Donald Trump said at a recent Iowa rally. *  According to The Huffington Post's aggregate favorable rating, a little more than 55 percent view him negatively.  *  But has that really translated to anything? The answer looks like a resounding "no." Even when you throw in Trump's latest loss in Iowa, he still managed to pull in more than 24 percent of the vote from Republicans." -- You know.. when 55% of a HuffPOOPOO poll views a Republican "negatively", then the Republican needs to be listened to by the rest of the country.

---
From the HuffPOOPOO story above: "Hillary Clinton's numbers. Her unfavorable aggregate is at 52.5 percent, not too far from Trump's. And yet, nationally she's currently pulling in 51.6 percent in the fight for the Democratic nomination." -- After 25 years of being groomed for this moment as "the smartest woman in the world", G.I. JILLary is not in very good shape since barely half of liberals prefer her to an old white socialist man from a state that has only 625,000 in population. Still think we haven't heard the last of Biden..

---
Online story: "Ted Cruz released a statement Tuesday apologizing to Ben Carson after his campaign spread a rumor that Carson suspended his campaign. Cruz says his team took a CNN story about Carson heading to Florida after the caucuses as news that the neurosurgeon was dropping out." -- Grab on to something and hold on tight.. If Cruz in on the Republican ticket, liberals will be blasting him as racist!

---
Online headline: "Georgia executes 72-year-old inmate for 1979 killing during robbery" -- What an injustice!   The taxpayers of GA paid for the upkeep and legal representation of a killer for 37 years ... and the lawyers walked away.

From the "another way government gets to stick its hands in hard working people's pockets" department - Online story: "This week, Super Bowl 50 and all its accompanying fanfare has descended into the city of Santa Clara, as the AFC champion Denver Broncos get set to do battle with the NFC champion Carolina Panthers. Blood will be bled and tears will be shed, as these two teams clash for the right to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. But it all might pale in comparison to the pain some of the athletes feel when they receive their game checks for the world's biggest sporting spectacle, thanks to the "jock tax." * The jock tax stipulates that anyone who earns income outside of the state in which they file their taxes is potentially subject to additional state and local taxes for the amount of time spent working in a particular jurisdiction. For athletes, this includes games, practices, and team meetings. * So this week, as Peyton Manning's Broncos and Cam Newton's Panthers practice, watch film, and even trudge through media day, they're earning their keep in the state of California, and will have to pay tax on their income for those days worked in the state. * "Athletes are targeted for a jock tax for a couple reasons. They're high profile, high salary, and easy to track. It's big business," he explained. "In 2013, California collected more than $229 million in income tax from athletes. It's an opportunity for states to replenish their coffers. A number of states and cities have an occasional entry rule, where if you spend less than 10 or 12 days in a city, you don't have to pay tax, but athletes are almost always excluded in these instances.  * For the days the team works in California on Super Bowl week, many will be subject to the state's 13.3 percent tax threshold on individuals who earn over one million dollars: the highest rate in the nation. Athletes do get relief from their home state for days they trigger the jock tax, but when the threshold is as high as California's, they still come out on the losing end." -- Good grief.. the NFL, knowing this, still consigned  "SuperBowl L" to California.. and San Francisco at that.. tax collectors and certain taxpayers alike will be wanting to get into players' "jocks".

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Learn from the past to manage Syria refugee crisis in a smart way" -- Yeah... redirect them to Saudi Arabia.

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "Environmentalists are hailing the Canadian government's landmark deal to protect 85 percent of the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia from logging and development -- an area more than twice the size of Belgium." -- Good grief.. why would anyone use Belgium as the comparison measure? Children in our public schools probably have no clue where Belgium is, much less how big it is.. While it's probably true of our states, too, why not say Canada shut down timber jobs in an area about the size of West Virginia.. (or half the size of Louisiana...though fractions are probably more confusing).

Online story: "In a startling twist that only Bernie Sanders could explain, the fine anti-capitalists of the University of Oregon’s Campbell House are having some financial difficulties. It turns out that they keep attracting the kind of tenants who are so anti-capitalistic that they keep running off without paying their rent."   -- Eureka! we've located the 21st Century's breeding ground for libera;s! Hmmm.. you know, a guidance error to a military missile test could accidentally wipe out Nike AND the U of Oregon and "nip this in the bud"!

---
From above story: "As revealed in the article, the anti-capitalists in charge are even motivated to consider renting to capitalists. * “Our major hurdle has been to be more accepting of people who we’re not sure would function well in our community instead of just trying to pre-judge,” Wood told the Emerald. “If we need to, we can ask them to leave later.” -- "ask them to leave later"? Obviously amateur libs.. those with their MBAs or Phds would simply reach into the capitalists back pockets when they turn to leave and just grab the wallets from their back pockets.

Oh... Target is obviously trying to cash in on Common Crap Math graduates.. here's a "special" sign on M&M bags of candy.. As you can see, Target wants to move more bags of M&Ms so they are offering the $2.99 bags in a two-fer price of $5.98! Wow, that's a savings of.... ZERO.. 2 X $2.99 is $5.98! Glad they didn't teach Common Crap Math in my day.

Take the time to read this... it explains the difference of being humane and being a liberal:

Political Analyst? Why are they even given time, much less thought, about voicing their views? A huge record number, some 182,000 Iowans participated in the Republican Caucuses. "Analysts" attribute it to so many Republican candidates...BS! Iowans turned out because they are fed up with how our country's respect has been neutered by liberal governance, and the refusal of establishment Republicans to challenge NERO-bamageddon, and Trump, especially Trump, and Cruz raised their hopes, passions, and expectations for a change.. a true change.

---
Reince Priebus, The Chair of the RNC still doesn't understand what happened in Iowa...he was on Fox talking about how strong the performance was for "the Party" instead of what it means to the country and the future. The RNC better not screw this up.

---
L-E headline: "COMPANIES COMPETING TO PUT HAMPTON INN DOWNTOWN" -- Hmmm... well, it still won't change the reality that the hotel built on the Phenix City side with a full river view will book up before any other rooms are "sold" in Columbus..and you have to wonder how standard Hampton Inn architecture will pass muster with the Historic District Committee.. Hampton doesn't have "the pass" CSU buildings get.  Oh, and what about parking.. how tall will the garage be?

---
Incredibly dense LIV's L-E "soundoff": " The Columbus economic forecast is disheartening. Let’s get former mayors, successful business leaders, Mayor Tomlinson, Isaiah Hugley and young innovative professionals together to find ways to beat this forecast and make Columbus even better." -- What's wrong with this suggested committee? Obviously, including Mayor TomLYINGson amd the City Manager... after so much decline in the economy/employment in Columbus under their guidance, a committee would be better off without their input. Once again.. Hey L-E, how about screening all "soundoffs" originating from TomLYINGson's e-mail list.

---
From the "Democrats will.. no, DO.. lie about everything" department: "Republicans are cheering for Bernie Sanders because he is the Democrats’ nightmare candidate; as a Democrat I am crossing over to vote for John Kasich because he is the best Republican candidate." -- You know.. if he/she could be trusted, I might even support Kasich if it will keep Democrats from voting for either Bernie or Hillary in November... but you know that ain't gonna happen.

---
L-E's " Thought for Today" “Your friend will argue with you.” - Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Russian writer (1918-2008)" -- Very true... also explains why Democrats throw out the "political correct trump card" anytime  conversations appear to approach reasonable solutions to obvious problems.

---
L-E headline/story: "ROAD AMERICA CLOSING CALL CENTER * 200 full-time jobs lost *  Nearly a decade after arriving in Columbus and opening a 24-hour response center for travelers, Road America is preparing to leave Columbus, with about 200 full-time employees losing their jobs. *  The company, which fielded its first call in Columbus on May 15, 2006, said it is assisting workers with career counseling and is encouraging them to consider other jobs within Road America." -- "encouraging them to consider other jobs within Road America"? Hmm.. well, I guess after 6 years under Mayor TomLYINGson rule, Road America executives have had enough and are at least offering employees a way to go with them..

---
L-E headline/story: "DOUBLE CHURCHES ROAD CONSTRUCTION * Both lanes closing for six hours on Thursday * Drivers might want to avoid the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Double Churches Road on Thursday. * The eastbound lane of Double Churches between Veterans and Fortson Road/Northlake Drive has been closed for a couple of weeks and will remain closed for another three weeks for improvements. On Thursday, the westbound lane in that section will also be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for work related to the railroad crossing there" -- Good grief.. why is the GA DOT wanting to impeded 2 of the 3 arteries divers have access to from Bradley Park to get to Veteran Parkway commercial locations?  Yeah, I know, if the GA DOT had been staying on top of the Whittlesey Road project, this wouldn't matter.. but they didn't.. aren't now, and probably won't in future months.. how does a 2 year project get pushed out about 2 more years?
Oh.. please tell me tere's a different company handling Double Churches Rd  than Whittlesesy Road..I certainly am not going to go in that area to see for myself.

L-E story: "New Carver football coach Reggie Barlow met with members of his new team on Tuesday in the school’s auditorium. In a short message to the 60-plus students and parents in attendance, he spoke about the things people can control. * They can’t control when they’re born, he said, or when they die. But it’s the time between — the dash — that he focused on and said he wanted his new players to focus on, as well.
 * The dash was an acronym: D.A.S.H.H. He claimed the extra ‘h’ was there because he was from Alabama, earning some laughter from the crowd. The acronym stands for discipline, attitude, sacrifice, habits and heart." -- Here's hoping success at Carver.. and in hoping the principal will also adopt "D.A.S.H.H" as the educational goal in the classrooms!

---
L-E story: "Columbus Police are trying identify any possible suspects linked to the overnight Sentry Street shooting that left one man wounded, according to an incident report. * Authorities said they were called to the 4900 block of Sentry Street around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the 25-year-old victim suffering from two gunshot wounds to the back. He was transported to Midtown Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition." -- Hmmm... if he dies, we'll learn his name and he becomes a statistic the L-E will eport.. if he doesn't die.. the L-E will not tell us how many more gun shot victims he joins in Columbus's crime records.

There's an L-E story, with pictures, of a man stealing a TV off the wall at a Phenix City, AL residence.. The thief looks right at the camera as the TV down.. is it dumbness that if a thief is into stealing quick selling electronics that he should also find the computer that is recording his crime and have both another item to sell, as well as get rid of the evidence that will jail him?
