Roundabouts are just the current "toy" of the GA DOT.. some politician, probably with an in-law in the road building business,  figured out it was a good way to spend lots of money whether a long term solution was found or not..

There are simple, less expensive solutions, but those will not be considered as they aren't  "dramatic" enough or as expensive to interest the political aspect of the GA DOT. Widening River Road north of the intersection up to the Jordan Office Park so a through lane AND a left turn lane are available at Bradley Park so the morning back up caused by School Buses stopping along River Road and the egress to Brookstone School is one. Another would be to redirect all thru-trucks, particularly the logging trucks onto either I-185, J,R Allen, or Veterans Parkway.

The one thing that escapes scrutiny when this roundabout is "presented on paper (2-dimension)  is the elevation changes that effect turns of River Road.. There is a 10-foot elevation change from Bradley Park Dr, and a 6-8-foot elevation higher than River Road..those curves will be extreme for tractor-trailer trucks and loads are going to shift dangerously.

What the heck is Fox doing? Setting up it's "News Room" in New Hampshire, versus the normalcy of it's studio is following the story a little to closely for objectivity. And bringing in John Sununu as a
