Weekend Update:

---
Online headline/storyObama pledges new $4 billion US school program * The president announced Saturday that he will ask Congress for a massive expansion of particular classes in every public school. * The president's "Computer Science For All Initiative" would provide $4 billion to states and $100 million to school districts over three years, money that could be used to train teachers, expand course offerings and improve programs that encourage girls and minorities to pursue technology careers." -- Hmmm... as of September of 2014, there are 49,484,181 students in K-12 public schools... let's parse these numbers.. on the surface, $4.1 BILLION sounds huge.. (even though there are 354 American families who can do this and still have over $100,000,000.00 left to live off of), but is it really.. distributing $4.1 BILLION to 49,484,181 students would allow each student an amount of about $83.00 .. a class of 30 students would generate $2,490.00.. and that's for one year, and NERO-bamageddon is spreading this over 3 years. In other words. NERO-bamageddon's "gesture is another one of his "style over substance" moves aimed at getting dumb voters feeling a Democrat is stepping to the plate.

---
Online "headLIE": "David Bowie reportedly left wife Iman half his fortune, rest will go to children and staff" -- Whoa.. what a pipedream.. what about the government and lawyers' cuts?

---
Online headline: "The most respected poll in Iowa just gave Donald Trump some great news" -- Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.... NOT! The voters in Iowa are responding to what they have been missing for years... a candidate that sees "the elephant in the room" .. and talks about it.  Politically Correct politics have about destroyed the future of America as out forefathers dreamed it.

---
From above story: "On the Democratic side of the race, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton led her chief rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), 45% to 43%." -- Hmmm 12% are suddenly either giving Martin O'Malley his 1st rating over 1% or the voters are undecided... Wait .. how can Democrats be undecided about G.I. JILLary at this point? If voters are still holding their noses deciding , then the likelihood is that Socialist Bernie, a Senator from a state that has a total of 625,000 citizens with less than 5% being minorities will get most of those votes. Either way, at this point, the nation has watched JILLary struggle in spite of the DNC's efforts, and that does not bode well for Democrats across the nation.

---
You know, if this was a race in Chicago, it would behoove Bernie Sanders to post guard at all the cemeteries to make sure the DNC  was out recruiting late voter registrations.

---
Online headline/story: "Obama to make first visit to US mosque next week *  At the mosque, the president will "reiterate the importance of staying true to our core values - welcoming our fellow Americans, speaking out against bigotry, rejecting indifference, and protecting our nation's tradition of religious freedom," the official said." -- First,  "we should ask NERO-bamageddon to define ""first visit", but how come he doesn't stand up and protect "our nation's tradition of religious freedom" for Christians?

---
Online headline: "Last two California jail escapees caught in San Francisco after tip" -- How could this be,, I thought San Francisco was a "Sanctuary" city..

---
L-E headline/story: "PAINFUL PREDICTION * They were blunt and painful words to hear Friday from a respected Georgia economist delivering an annual prognostication that essentially sets the tone for the rest of the year. *  “My forecast for Columbus for 2016 is not good,” said Jeff Humphreys, director of the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business." -- "prediction for 2016 is not good"? Well, it's taken 6 years of Mayor TomLYINGson for Humphreys to see what was obvious to a lot of us prior to the 2010 Mayoral election.. Of course, Columbus has a chance to "change it's fate"  in May and November by electing folks that want to reverse the mistakes made in Council and the School Board.

---
From the above story: " One argument is that companies opt to go elsewhere because they know employees will face much higher property taxes initially when they buy a home locally. " -- Good grief.. out of town folks marvel at what their money can buy in a home here compared to other urban communities.. what's "wrong" is the tax rates compared to abutting/competing counties. I sold my Harris County home in 2003 when I bought back in Muscogee County. There was less than $10K in the buy/sell prices, yet even with 12+ years having passed and incremental tax raises being implemented. my former Harris County home is paying 50%  less that what I'm paying here in Muscogee County for each of the past 12+ years!  Keep the freeze! Dump TomLYINGson.

---
You know, Mayor TomLYINGson has been so focused on undoing the tax freeze (which has saved her butt by producing more revenue on homes that decreased in value during her "terms"), and adding more revenue draining facilities, that she has become Columbus', as well as her own, worst enemy.

---
You know, of all the local industries in Columbus that have challenges ahead with the losses of personnel at Ft Benning, rental housing/apts are going to feel the wrath.. and it's not just from soldiers moving out.. it's from CSU overbuilding student dorms.

---
Incredibly dumb and double-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "  Boycotting a debate because you think the moderator is biased against you sounds like something a spoiled child would do. A president must take his job seriously, putting his country’s agenda ahead of his own." -- Whew.. where to begin.. Since when is standing up for what's right the act of a spoiled child? But the second part of this "soundoff" demonstrates .. no .. defines the stupidity of liberalism.. can this lib.. any other lib for that matter, point out one bill or one Executive Order NERO-bamageddon has "penned" that didn't put his agenda before the good of America?

---
From.. "say huh... hold on a minute" department - Online headline/story: "Sanders accused of using dirty trick against Clinton  * A new report has emerged that suggests Bernie Sanders' camp may be trying rob Hillary Clinton of supporters with a sneaky move. * Bernie Sanders' supporters are urging Iowa caucus-goers to back Martin O'Malley as part of a strategy—after Sanders' camp bashed Hillary Clinton's campaign for using the same political tactic. * The strategy aims to make O'Malley a "viable" candidate in Iowa precincts where Clinton is set to earn the majority of delegates, thus robbing her of delegates that would help her take the state, and leaving an opening for Sanders to eventually win the most delegates. Clinton's campaign is trying to do the same thing: rob Sanders of the votes he needs to win in Iowa by making O'Malley a "viable" candidate in certain precincts." -- "Clinton's campaign is trying to do the same thing: rob Sanders of the votes he needs to win in Iowa by making O'Malley a "viable" candidate in certain precincts."?  Bernie is given the "bully" title even though G.I. JILLary is doing the same thing? Good grief.. JILLary has practiced every sneaky, dirty trick up hers and Slick Willie's shirt sleeves.. probably even invented a few of them, but Bernie is the bad  boy... Gimmee a break.

---
Online story: " A 26-year-old former campaign staffer for Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has accused the campaign of sex discrimination, the New York Times reported on Sunday.  * E******* M** D*******, who worked as an organizer in Iowa for the New York businessman, filed a complaint with the Davenport, Iowa, Civil Rights Commission, claiming female staffers were paid less than male staffers, according to the report." -- Good grief.. what an obvious attempt by the "you're fired" former employee looking for a big payday and 15 minutes of fame. Why is this news... Oh.. we KNOW why this is news.

---
From above story: "Ms. D*******, who was fired on Jan. 14, and her lawyer Dorothy O'Brien did not respond to requests for comment." -- Gimmee a break.. the lawyer is a "well known" labor lawyer.. all you legal eagles out there.. would you be able to properly prepare court filings with less than two weeks to investigate/gather/prepare evidence to present to a court? Especially just to get it on the books before an election event? This is a conspiratal sham.

---
Online headline: "Trump's star on Hollywood Walk of Fame defaced with swastika" -- Hmmm... obviously a liberal "hate" crime...yeah, obviously since liberals want government to have the same kind of dictatorial socialist government that Trump campaigns against.

---
Online headline/story: "Hundreds turn out for debate over Massachusetts high school mascot *  The Redman mascot has come under attack before, but the battle this time around has drawn passionate arguments." -- Good grief.. the Washington Redskin name just was upheld by  a federal appeals court which struck down part of a law Tuesday that let the government reject trademarks it deemed offensive or disparaging to others. On the other hand, parents of the Tewksbury, MA players on the girls' team would probably have a good "gender bias" case.. wonder what they are called now.. "The Lady Tewksbury Redmen"?

---
L-E headline/story: "Inquirer: Like them or not, get used to more roundabouts  *  State and federal regulations require a city to do an engineering study and prove that a roundabout won't work before it can get a permit to install a new signal intersection, ( Donna) Newman (the city's director of engineering.) said." --
You know.. if a "roundabout" can work in a low moderate-to-high traffic area where passenger vehicles are the rule, I can see them as an alternative to control/monitor traffic,, Whether there is a long term cost savings over a 2-or-4-way "STOP" sign, we'll just have to see.. Now.. Roundabouts on multi-road intersections involving higher speed vehicles, passenger cars mixed with logging trucks.semi's, and school buses will be a different story, and that cost Millions of dollars is a different story.. Intersections that have roadbed elevations that have 10'-15 ' are not going to able to be "fixed" for $350-$400,000. In fact , two years ago, using models discussed with Councilman Davis, "estimates" for the River Road wer above $1.2 Million.. and those "samples"  were no where as big as the recent "staked out" layout at River Road/Bradley Park, Cascade Rd, and Green Island Drive. It was huge!  Sad thing is that a one lane add to the northern side of River Roadof a couple of hundred yards would pretty much solve the AM congestion., bur according to Davis, the GA DOT doesn't want simole solutions. it wants big and flamoyant..not to mention COSTLY.. improvements. From the "you can't make this stuff up" department - L-E story: " An attorney says a Colorado Department of Corrections officer fired his gun during a weekend brawl at a Denver motorcycle show that left one dead and seven others injured. * Attorneys for two biker groups are blaming each other for instigating the Saturday afternoon clash. Whitfield says the officer was a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club, which is made up mostly of police and military." -- Good grief.. since when do motorcycle gangs settle beefs via attorneys? What happened to brawling, chains, a few bruises, a few mssing teeth. then getting back on their bikes and moving on?

---
Monday L-E headlines/stories from weekend:
"Phenix City man dies following incident at Columbus bar"
"Shots fired at home on Winston Road"
"Man shot on Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard"
"Man shot on Midtown Drive"
"Police investigating report of armed robbery on Howard Avenue"
"Robbery on Donahue Drive where two armed men approached a man and woman",

With all this going on, the CPD nor the Columbus L-E "feels" it necessary to keep figures on people shot/accosted by guns who weren't killed.. Just because an expensive taxpayers paid trip to an emergency room keeps someone from being a murder statistic does not make not keeping up with the stats acceptable.

---
L-E story: " A metro Atlanta high school’s new reliance on iPads for classroom work is raising concerns among some parents that students without the technology could get left behind. * Walton High School is directing parents of its nearly 2,600 students to buy i-Pads for their children to use in classroom assignments starting this month, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported." -- Good grief..  what schools need is a "No Whine Zone"!  I'm willing to bet that every high school student has a cellphone and plan that costs more than a iPad.. Trade'em in.. perhaps even student grades will improve when you take away their cellphones.

---
Wow.. Barbies for everyone.. can you not see that when some girls have a "sleepover" and
play Barbie", that their skinny Barbie Dolls are gonna humiliate and bully the "chubby Barbie Dolls"?

---
Mainscream media is out of control...reporting the news is no longer enough..now media wants to shape and control it.

---
Have you seen that Motel 6 has taken over the old motel on Veterans across from the Waffle House?  Guess the sign means differently than what it meant when it was first put up.. Motel 6 actually had rooms that were available for $6.00 a night.. Now, $6.00 won't pay the hotel/sales taxes on a room for a night.. In fact, Motel 6 cannot even keep "the light on for you" for $6.00 a night.

---
One thing about having Mayor TomLYINGson here is that G.I. JILLary won't look very attractive claiming being a woman attorney makes you a good leader.

---
G.I. JILLary is blaming Republicans for the FBI/Department of State investigation of her e-mail problem.. Last I heard was that the head of the FBI and Department of State were appointed by NERO-bamageddon

---
I think the next question Chris Matthews needs to ask G.I. JILLary is, "If elected, and you get a call at 3:00 AM, will you know where your husband is?"

---
Unbelievable! G.I. JILLary's current "rally call" is,  "We've got to keep the PROGRESS going!". Good grief..even yellow-dog Democrats should shudder at the thought of her winning and fulfilling NERO-bamageddon's agenda to transform America .

---
From the "didn't you already know he was lying?" department: Hmmm NERO-bamageddon said he learned about G.I. JILLary using an unsecured personal server from mainscream media sources..well, now we find out he sent at least 18 e-mails (that weren't deleted) directly to her server.

---
Good grief...Oral Roberts University is going to require students to wear a "Fit Bit" and be required to log in 10,000 steps daily. Huh? Talk about despotism!

---
You know, before any anyone throws his/her name into the pot to be considered as a candidate for president, said persons should be required to submit documentation of eligibility to be president to a committee of the Federal Election Commission assembled by the US Supreme Court.

---
Was watching "America's Book if Secrets", and it was about presidential assassination conspiracies. One such mentions Lincoln's VP Andrew Johnson...well guess what, Johnson was a Democrat..Elections then did not vote on a t a pres/vp on the ballot as a team..and it isn't the only time we've see a Democrat VP named Johnson gain the office following an assassination.

---
Based on withholding Wednesday stories that embarrass Mayor TomLYINGson until Saturday, it seems the L-E has adopted NERO-bamageddon's policy of "policy/data dumps" on Weekends.

---
One of those "weekend dump" stories talked about how slick and craftily Mayor TomLYINGson's ballot initiative wording was.. ypu know, local politicians who love their community should strive to make any.. all.. referendum/ballot initiatives as transparent as they can.. anything less is basically a crime.

---

Online story: "A special 1 percent sales tax used to fund a variety of greenspace, transportation, public safety and other projects across Cobb has collected almost $39 million more than projected thanks to a recovering economy, county officials said this week.  * As of November, the 2011 SPLOST has collected more than $519 million over the past four years, coming in above the projected revenue of $492 million. Collection ended in December, 2015 and the final numbers should be in this week, according to Finance Director Jim Pehrson. He estimated that the final month of collection, once tallied, could bring in another $11 million." -- Hmmm.. sorta really exposes our Mayor TomLYINGson's imeptness at getting Columbus back on track economic wise. It also means, I want a refund for the taxes I paid for purchases in Marietta in November and December! SPLOSTs don't allow the originators to have "windfall revenue over what was voted on.
