The Supreme Court decision on forcing private companies not to have to provide abortive birth control methods didn't go far enough. OObamaCRAP should not require such, nor forced maternity coverage. These are personal options. I mean why should my wife or myself be forced to carry maternity, much less birth control coverage on ourselves . I'm 67 and she's in the next lower decade.

A liberal, trying to be "humorous" (but in vain, as the first symptom of catching liberalism is the loss of such), asked what I would call Hillary should she become president. He made a few failed attempts at suggesting a few choices, so I replied to him.. first, I told him I didn't think that was going to happen, but since he was interested, I'd show him the difference between humor and what he thought was humorous. The fact that the CSU "Foundation" footed the $50K dollars ($45K guarantee plus at least $5K for "expenses' ) to find an AD within a two hour drive time should be, no, probably is, disheartening to joyous donors to the Foundation over the years. Spending $50K for basically hiring a fund raiser with the title of Athletic Director at a higher salary than the previous hands-on and successful Athletic Directors just doesn't look like CSU is being a good ward of its resources.

There is a picture in the L-E taken from a "march" to save the "Garrard Center" of Girl's, Inc which is scheduled to close for lack of funding. Young girls are carrying signs of various content. Those signs would look a bit more sincere if they'd been hand-lettered by the kids.. it would also show that the powers that be were a bit more concerned about the expenses.

China has banned Hillary's book "Hard Choices" two different ways.. no publisher has bought the rights to translate/publish it in Chinese languages, but China has also has prohibited the sale of it in English. Guess for the Chinese, they were "easy choices", and so much for her effectiveness as a political representative of the US in the future as well. Wow... in comparison, , the Chinese preferred Nixon to Hillary...

You know...it really bothers me that our school system tries to meet the average scores.. gets excited if student scores are within a few points of average. I was raised under the pretense that average is not a goal. Average means you're the same as the worst of the best or the best if the worst. Neither of those is satisfactory as a goal.

It can also be about adventuring with friends or watching the sun rise over a blocky ocean. It’s pretty. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary than pretty. You can also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea.

Online story: "WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a 35-foot protest-free zone outside abortion clinics in Massachusetts. * The justices were unanimous in ruling that extending a buffer zone 35 feet from clinic entrances violates the First Amendment rights of protesters." -- "the Justices were unanimous"? Good grief.. have there been any other unanimous decisions on anything by this panel? You know, this panel would contradict itself on issues of whether transgenderists have the right to pick whether to use the men's or women's bathrooms.

The Supreme Court just endorsed mediocrity and squashed the entrepreneurial spirit of America. The SC ruled against a small company who had the idea of pulling free broadcast TV signals from a strong reception area, and rebroadcasting them via the I-net to people in areas that get weak or bad reception. If the Supreme Court is going to protect the major TV networks, the Supreme Court needs to order the major networks to provide good/strong reception to 100% of Americans. Another thing this ruling does is put more Americans under the thumb of cable companies. Network broadcasters have no incentive to improve their signal strength as long as cable is buying the rights to rebroadcast, and cable companies benefit because citizens in weak reception areas have no other choice.

Neal Cavuto was interviewing a Democratic Party Congressman who wants to raise the gas taxes 81% (18.4¢ to 33.4¢) to pay for more bridge & road repair. Cavuto asked if $120 Billion wasn't enough. The Congressman said, of course it's enough, but it's not meeting our needs...Cavuto flustered him by asking if he could account where the money was spent, and he had no clue. Half its employees are getting a raise to 10.67.... Hmmm... didn't Walmart, the liberals' Satan, and recently vilified by the NY Times, show it already pays its full time hourly employees an average of over $12.00 per hour? Maybe Ikea's money is "greener" than Walmart's...

No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. On the other hand, In his dissent, Justice Paul J. Kelly Jr. said the 10th Circuit overstepped its authority and that states should be able to decide who can marry.
Our Constitution does support him:
9th Amendment: "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people"
10th Amendment: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"

Now.. the 14th Amendment's Section 3 does raise issue with whether we should be paying the salary/pension of the Democrats who voted to take over our healthcare system:

You know.. the recent revival of the activities of CSU's President Mescon might be a catapult to better state employment practices.. how about a law, even a policy, that say when a president of a state college/university or a local school superintendent throws his/her hat into the running for another job, the state or local monitoring body put his/her position up for replacement regardless of the success of the president/superintendent landing another job. He/she has basically said he/she is either too big for the current job or has no interest in the future of this job.

One of the biggest questions asked about the IRS scandal has been why does it seem that mainstream American's are not interested. I don't think that's a fair question . Half of Americans only contact with IRS is through their tax preparer, and half of Americans get refunds from having either overpaid during the year, or qualify for child or tax credits given to lower income workers, so they have no clue as to the invasive nature of IRS.

Should the military ban recruits with exposed tattoos? Do tattoos affect a soldiers performance? On first look, the answer to both is probably a "no", but there are issues bigger than personal tastes. Does the military just put out a list of unacceptable tattoos and take its chances on fending off lawsuits for discrimination, or just say " no" to all skin art that just detracts from the "professional image" the American soldier. I just have the vivid image of Trayvon Martin's dad's gang identifying neck tattoo that he had modified for TV appearances when ha had to appear as a concerned "dad".

That NY Democrat Primary race between Rangel and Espaillat appears to be too close to call at this point. Rangel went on stage to say he wanted "to sweat it out" with his supporters. Moments later, the stage buckled under the weight of the congressman and more than a dozen elected officials who wanted to stand near him. The name Fred Gordy, Jr... He was inner circle with the Clinton's during their reign in the Arkansas governors' mansion. Now, 1992 comes into play. Our family had planned a family reunion for August that year, but it got "scrapped" due to various reasons , but our local group did plan to have one small get-together. Fred knew this, even though he wasn't going to be able to attend in person. Fast forward to the Saturday after the Democrat National Convention. The older Columbus clan was gathered at my Dad's. The phone rang. It was Fred. Fred asked to be put on the speakerphone..once he was, he asked if everybody was sitting down. The other entrance will be closed indefinitely. * There is currently security screening at the entrance of Council Chambers at the City Services Center, but the bill says the security checkpoint must be at the entrance of the building in order for the building to disallow concealed carry weapons" -- What kind of "service building" shuts down its entrances to law abiding citizens? In 2013, 7,578 online donations were made by Columbus residents through Blackbaud, for a total amount of $686,667. That's about $3,537 per 1,000 people." -- First, who/what is "Blackbaud"? As a foundation officer, I can safely say none of us have ever heard or used "Blackbaud", and will never use such a clearing house. Secondly, it's an insult to every tithe maker, ever donor, every local foundation to insinuate the depth of the collective pockets is so shallow, yet grand enough to be ranked as a top giving city. What's "rank" is "BlackBaud" taking the spotlight.

Remember when the Lone Ranger said, "looks like we are going to die, Tonto? and Tonto said, "what do you mean, "we", white man"? Well, I doubt seriously that Phenix City considers its new hotel a "we" project, and feel very certain that Phenix City id not planning to share the accommodation taxes on the rooms. Especially in light of what's happening with the fees from Whitewater rafters.
