Wow... Eric Cantor. GOP House Majority Leader, next in line as House Speaker, was beaten in the Virginia primary. GOP.... are you listening?

---
From the :did you know" department - Online story: "Robert Kardashian , one of OJ's defense attorneys, died in 2003 from esophageal cancer." -- Hmmm.. and Johnnie Cochran died too, of brain cancer. When you think about this, it's almost post-prophetic/ironic.

There's a new poll out listing the "10 Most Corrupt States". * They were chosen based on certain aspects. Researchers also found that spending in these states was different than their less corrupt counterparts. According to the report, “states with higher levels of corruption are likely to favor construction, salaries, borrowing, correction, and police protection at the expense of social sectors such as education, health and hospitals.” .....Hmmmm, Interestingly, the State of Illinois wasn't #1.. in fact, it was ranked #4. Interesting, too, is the "format" seemed to punish states that voted Republican, states that put job creation ahead of entitlement programs, Most interesting were some states that didn't make the Top 10... among them are NJ and California, and the worst omission seems to the Washington, DC, the state of Decay.

HuffPost headline: "Jon Stewart Is A More Trusted News Source Than MSNBC, Study Says" -- And? Your point? Jay Carney was more trusted than MSNBC....
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama: Why US should be ashamed" -- Hmmm.. maybe because our level of education has decayed so much that there are enough voters to elect Judas 00-Barnum twice?
---
Instant repeat with story - "Obama: Why US should be ashamed * Obama says his biggest frustration so far as president is that American society hasn't been willing to take steps to strengthen gun control." -- Yeah, and for good reason.. there are still enough of us out here with some common sense and a premonition that Judas 00-Barnum might be interested in rewriting the 22nd Amendment as well and run again.
---
Online headline: "Obama pulls a fast one on White House reporters" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought he had slipped something trithful by them they didn't catch.
---
Online story: " A first-of-its-kind court ruling that concluded California's union-backed teacher tenure, layoff and dismissal laws infringe on students' rights to an equal public education adds fire to a debate over whether the job protections afforded professional educators are partly to blame for what ails the nation's schools, experts said." -- Wow.. you know how bad teacher tenure has become when a California court stands up for a basic tenet of what's right. You know, easily 90+ percent of teachers do not need such tenure protection to feel secure in their work, but the ones protected have been a serious blight on education and the teacher profession. Now, maybe some of those big city unionized school systems will boot the teachers who have been sent to day centers after they were removed from classrooms but had "tenure" and "couldn't" be fired before. Of course, don't get your hopes up too much; California's 9th Distric Court of Appeals will side with the teachers' union

From the "tale of two cities" department: L-E story: "FLINT, MICH. — A jury has awarded a woman $183,000 after she said she was unfairly fired from Hurley Medical Center after accessing a family member's medial files. * (Her) attorney, Glen L******, says the case shows that privacy rules "while laudable in principle, can sometimes be used by hospitals to unfairly fire employees." * The hospital argued that Larry violated federal privacy rules when she accessed the medical files of a family member receiving treatment at the hospital. Hurley spokeswoman Ilene Cantor says the hospital takes matters of patient privacy very seriously" -- Good grief... the woman's job title was "Assistant Patient Representative". Why did she even have access to the area where such files are kept, and why have privacy rules for employees?

Online quote site: "“The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.” - Jim Rohn " -- Hmmm... guess this doesn't translate well when lawyers are in political leadership positions like president or mayor..
---
Online story: "Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accuses Israel of being an occupying force in her new memoir Hard Choices and claims that the Jewish state denies “dignity and self determination” to Palestinians in the West Bank." -- Once again I ask.. why does the Jewish voter bloc continue to sniff Jackasses?
---
Online headline/story: "Harry Reid Calls Udall Challenger a ‘Loser’ * Reid was recorded at a campaign event in support of Kentucky Secretary of State and Alison Lundergan Grimes, who is mounting a campaign against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.). * “Each day that goes by, Mark Udall is ahead by more in Colorado because this guy he’s running against is a real loser,” Reid said, to some laughter from the Democratic donor audience * Sen. Mark Udall (D., Colo.), who is facing a tough reelection fight from Gardner, claimed he had not heard about Reid’s remark and declined to comment, " -- Good grief... do all Democrats "know nothing" until they read about it in the newspaper the next day?
---
L-E story: "Once again, City Manager Isaiah Hugley had to pull from Columbus Council’s agenda a proposal to partner with the state to put a public restroom under the eastern end of the Frank Martin Memorial Bridge. And once again, absent councilors were the reason." -- Guess Red finally realized that the Council chamber is not a proper place "to dump" on the taxpayers of Columbus...bet if you ask Mayor Obamalinson if she has a method to prevent Councilors from excusing themselves prior to the vote next week, she will respond... "Depends"...
---
Online headline: "Shooting At Oregon High School Is 74th School Shooting In US Since Sandy Hook" -- Hmmm.... and the shooters were armed in a "No Tolerance For Weapons School Zone".
---
Online story: "The Obama administration only finalized the exchange of the last remaining U.S. prisoner of war in Afghanistan for five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo a day before the swap, a top Democratic lawmaker said Tuesday. He said American officials didn't learn the pickup location for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl until an hour ahead of time. * Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the Senate's No. 2-ranked Democrat, presented the timeline as an explanation for why President Barack Obama didn't inform Congress 30 days before the May 31 prisoner trade. Republicans and some Democrats have sharply criticized the president for failing to notify them and contend he broke the law. Obama says he acted legally." -- Two things stand out here... 1 - the top ranking Democrat in the Senate wasn't going to touch this with a 10 foot croupier's stick, and 2 - to quote Hillary.. "what difference does it make" when Judas 00-Barnum made the trade... he was still suppose to inform certain Congressional committee leaders of his intent 30 days, not 1 nor 29, ahead of 'the transaction", and 00-Barnum didn't.

Online story: "In a lightning advance, Sunni militants who overran the northern Iraqi city of Mosul to deal a stunning strategic blow against the government have pressed south toward Baghdad and occupied facilities in the key oil refining town of Baiji, spreading alarm in the Iraqi capital itself, according to security officials and residents on Wednesday. * Citizens in the refining center of Baiji, 110 miles south of Mosul, awoke Wednesday to find government checkpoints abandoned after insurgents, in a column of 60 vehicles, took control of the city of 200,000 people without firing a shot" -- Hmmm, no Rose Garden press conference to announce this, Judas 00-Barnum?
---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton clarifies poverty quip: 'Everything in life has to be put into context' - Washington Times" -- "Put into context"? How about another 'big one' in the "lie" column.
---
Online story: 'Princeton University Professor Peter Singer, speaking on a panel at the abortion and contraception activist conference “Women Deliver,” suggested a frightening fix to the imminent “environmental catastrophes” facing our planet – take away women’s reproductive choices. * Remarking that women have more children because of their “ideological or religious views,” Singer discussed the idea of reducing the world’s population to save the environment" -- You know.. kooks like this should not be given a forum unless their mothers chose abortion for them.....
---
Online story: "‘A Coney Island principal has put the kibosh on patriotism — again. * Greta Hawkins caused a furor when she barred her PS 90 kindergartners from singing “God Bless the USA” at their graduation ceremony in 2012. * Now she has stopped pre-K kids from singing “Stand Up for the Red, White and Blue” at their June 19 moving-up ceremony. * A class of 4-year-olds was rehearsing the song — which they would belt out while marching into the auditorium waving mini-American flags — when Hawkins halted the patriotic parade. * “You didn’t ask permission to do it,” Hawkins scolded the teachers" -- "didn't ask permission"? Well, she could have granted it on the spot since it was a rehearsal, so that isn't what she believes in, so...why is this person responsible for teaching American children about patriotism?

Online story RE: Hillary's ABC interview: "Hillary Clinton repeatedly deflected criticism over the Benghazi terror attack as she set out on a round of interviews promoting her new memoir -- while also tackling topics, like Monica Lewinsky, that the potential presidential candidate rarely discusses publicly. * In an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer, the former secretary of state was repeatedly challenged on the events of Sept. 11, 2012, when four Americans died in the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi. * Asked if she missed the moment to prevent the attack, she said: "No." * She acknowledged cables warning about security problems at the compound, but said they were "never brought to me." -- "Not brought to me?" She's probably parsing"brought" so it's treated different from being 'copied" "forwarded" or "texted". Equally disturbing is now she'd prefer to talk about someone else's blown mistake..... q;-)

Online headline: "Driverless carriage horse runs loose in Central Park" -- Wait a minute.. that was Mayor de Blasio at the reins!
---
"Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday that she and former President Bill Clinton "fully appreciate how hard life is for so many Americans," seeking to refine remarks she made about the pair being "dead broke" when they left the White House. * In an interview on the day her book "Hard Choices" was being released, Clinton told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she and her husband left the White House roughly $12 million in debt at the end of his second term in early 2001" -- Guess we can all be thankful that Newt Gingrich was keeping the US budget balanced and not the Clintons as they claim.
---
Clinton's Senate financial disclosure forms, filed for 2000, show assets between $781,000 and almost $1.8 million. The forms allow senators to report assets in broad ranges. The same form, however, showed that the Clintons owed between $2.3 million and $10.6 million in legal bills to four firms. -- Hmmm, makes me real curious if the Clinton's can produce receipts for the legal bills they've paid.
---
Online story: "Former President Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, have sent $28,000 worth of household goods back to Washington after questions arose over whether the items were intended as personal gifts or donations to the White House." -- Hmmm, guess she'll campaign on wanting visitation rights beginning in 2016... Add thief to her resume... too.
---
Online story: "Now the White House says Hagel made final call on Bergdahl as criticism of Obama over prisoner swap mounts * Congress learned on Monday that Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel gave final approval for the prisoner exchange that freed Sgt. Bowe (Tali-Bergdahl) * Last week, Hagel said the swap was a unanimous decision made by senior officials. -- Hmmm, guess space under the bus has become to filled to throw Hagel, so Judas 00-Barnum threw him under a MRAP for emphasis...
---
Online headline: "GOP struggles to recruit black voters, candidates" -- Yeah... and it's not the Republicans' fault.. Look at our last election results.. the black vote shunned not only white candidates with successful leadership jobs, but successful black candidates as well that ran with conservative leanings.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "So many VA critics, and none volunteering to head the VA to fix what they are criticizing." -- What makes this LIV even feel, much less "think" that Judas 00-Barnum wants a solution to the VA problem? He has the power of appointment and you see who he's appointed in every other aspect of government failure.
---
L-E story: "Fifteen CIA employees were found to have committed sexual, racial or other types of harassment last year, including a supervisor who was removed from the job after engaging in “bullying, hostile behavior” -- Huh? Aren't those characteristics an integral part of their job descriptions?
---
Is it just my imagination or are there more "gun incidents" placed in the L-E now that the local elections are over... or is it just that the L-E has ended the censorship?
---
L-E story: "A metro Atlanta college has reached a settlement with a former student who accused the school of discriminating against her because she’s HIV positive. * Officials from the U.S. Attorney’s office said Tuesday that the settlement stems from a former Gwinnett College student being kicked out of the school’s medical assistant program because she was considered a safety risk to others. * Officials say Gwinnett College has agreed to remove questions about HIV and AIDS from applications, and train employees on the Americans with Disabilities Act. * The school also agreed to pay the ex-student $23,000 for part of her student loans, emotional distress and pain and suffering." -- "remove questions about HIV and AIDS"? "pay....emotional distress and pain and suffering"? Good grief... patients/ co-workers/other students have more reason to be distressed, and subjected to the emotional stress and pain & suffering" of having this student eliminating the safe guards of getting new employees and students into school.

The Haskins Award has named Stanford's Patrick Rodgers as it's recipient for 2014. What a history follows the path of the Haskins Award as the best collegiate golfer in this country. Former winners have racked up 28 Majors and some 260 pro tournament wins. It's quite a legacy for two men of vision.. - two time Southeastern Amateur Champion (1933 & 1935) and protege of Fred Haskins, Dupont Kirven, Jr, and Nelson Ross, former golf coach at Columbus College (now Columbus State University) who created the legacy. Sadly, neither one is recognized in the history of the Fred Haskins website. These were/are special men.. one is my late father, and the other is a lifetime friend ... and Breakfast Club member.
