In the late 50s, the Kingston Trio captured the world in song:
They're rioting in Africa
They're starving in Spain
There's hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain.
The whole world is festering
with unhappy souls.
The French hate the Germans
The Germans hate the Poles.
Italians hate Yugoslavs,
South Africans hate the Dutch.
And I don't like
anybody very much!
But! We can be thankful
and tranquil and proud
that man's been endowed
with a mushroom-shaped cloud.
And we know for certain
That some lovely day
Someone will set the spark off
and we will all be blown away!
They're rioting in Africa
There's strife in Iran.
What nature doesn't do to us Clinton is encouraging companies to train and hire young people
Will be done by our fellow man.

One of the biggest questions asked about the IRS scandal has been why does
it seem that mainstream American's are not interested. I don't think that's a
fair question . Half of Americans only contact with IRS is through their tax
preparer, and half of Americans get refunds from having either overpaid during
the year, or qualify for child or tax credits given to lower income workers, so
they have no clue as to the invasive nature of IRS.

HuffPost headline: "Hillary Clinton to announce youth jobs" -- Poof! The
problem is solved!
---
Instant replay: "HuffPost headline: "Hillary Clinton to announce youth jobs
* Hillary Rodham Clinton is encouraging companies to train and hire young
people, offering a new jobs pitch during her family's annual domestic policy
summit as she considers another presidential campaign. * 10 companies, including
The Gap, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Marriott, Corning, Ernst & Young,
Lifeway Foods, MDC Partners, Salesforce.com and Symantec." -- "Clinton is
encouraging companies to train and hire young people"? Good grief.. Hillary
Clinton has zero-zip-nada influence nor impact on these companies hiring anyone
for a job.. it's what these companies DO! Besides, what does Hillary even know
about jobs?

A Home Owners Association in Florida has filed a $100.00 per day fine
against a veteran who is displaying an American flag in a flower pot on his
front porch. The HOA has even filed a lien against him to collect the fine. When
I first read it, I went and checked my HOA covenants.. it could happen....

Online quote source: " “The past is the past. Don't let it kill you. Get
over the bad things that happened. It's gone. People change. Memories remain.
But it's time to move on.” - Unknown " -- Hmmm.. bet this will not be cited
doing a Black History Month lesson.

Online story: "Nancy Pelosi lashed out at San Francisco Archbishop
Salvatore Cordileone for wanting to attend the March for Marriage event in DC.
* Pelosi harshly lectured Archbishop Cordileone over his attending the event.
She in fact called the March for Marriage event the Archbishop was attending
“venom masquerading as virtue.” She also saw fit to include in her criticism her
belief that some of the March for Marriage attendees show “disdain and hate
toward LGBT persons.” She quoted Pope Francis, the current pope, to the
Archbishop: “If someone is gay and is searching for the Lord and has good will,
then who am I to judge him?” * Bill Donohue (President of the Catholic League),
who called Pelosi a “rabid foe” of the Catholic Church’s teachings on abortion,
contraception, and marriage, stated: "When gays go naked in the streets of San
Francisco, and mock Catholicism in patently obscene ways, Pelosi is never
offended. What offends her is her archbishop’s public defense of the Church’s
teachings on marriage. Nice to know what her moral compass looks like." --
Hmmm, looks like Pelosi puts the Democratic Party mantra above the Catholic
Church, but what's new?

Online story: "During the regular "Inside Politics" segment of Tuesday's
New Day on CNN, Ron Fournier of the National Journal declared that he was
"naive" last year in giving the Obama administration the "benefit of the doubt"
over the IRS scandal, and called for an independent prosecutor to investigate as
he reacted to the recent congressional testimony of IRS commissioner John
Koskinen * The one thing both these scandals have in common is, for a party that
wants to establish the fact that good government can do good things, they're now
giving the public two choices. One, either we're incredibly incompetent, both
the the IRS and with the V.A. scandal, or we're crooked. Pick your poison. It's
not a good place to be. * " -- Whoa! Be still my heart!

Online headline: "Obama goes to Chipotle in Denver" -- Hmmm, and with a
complete entourage of Secret Service agents... hmmm, wait a minute... didn't
Chipotle just make a big to-do about posting it's "NO GUNS Allowed"
policy?
---
You know... Around October 10, the Republicans should propose a bill that
strips the IRS of its power to enforce OObamaCRAP enrollment. Let the Democrats
vote against it just prior to the elections.

Should the military ban recruits with exposed tattoos? Do tattoos affect a
soldiers performance? On first look, the answer to both is probably a "no", but
there are issues bigger than personal tastes. Does the military just put out a
list of unacceptable tattoos and take its chances on fending off lawsuits for
discrimination, or just say " no" to all skin art that just detracts from the
"professional image" the American soldier. I just have the vivid image of
Trayvon Martin's dad's gang identifying neck tattoo that he had modified for TV
appearances when ha had to appear as a concerned "dad".

Online story: "Vice President Joe Biden plans on relying solely on
taxpayers to fund his retirement. * Biden declared on Monday that he had neither
a savings account, nor any stocks to pay off his golden years. * “I have no
savings account, but I have a great pension and a great salary,” Biden told the
crowd at the White House Summit on Working Families." -- Good grief..neither our
president nor VP has any experience at creating a real job for themselves or
anyone else (other than appointments)..No wonder they are so glad to support a
higher minimum wage and OObamaCRAP and mandatory perks for entry level
employees.
---
Doesn't Joe Biden need to be the Poster Child" for term limits and
Congressional pension reform?

Yesterday, I made some observations about the Manchester Expressway
overlay. I thought of a couple of more things that "the committee" must have
overlooked. How about requiring the CFD & CPD get permission before turning
on lights and sirens, and access gates to keep nonresidential traffic to a
minimum?

That NY Democrat Primary race between Rangel and Espaillat appears to be
too close to call at this point. Rangel went on stage to say he wanted "to sweat
it out" with his supporters. Moments later, the stage buckled under the weight
of the congressman and more than a dozen elected officials who wanted to stand
near him. Maybe that was an omen.....maybe we're just wishfully thinking there's
"Hope and Change" in the Democratic Party heirarchy.
---
Did you see what happened in the Mississippi Republican Senate runoff? Even
though the challenger got more votes in the primary, not enough turned out
during the runoff, and the incumbent won.. again. Columbusites.. make sure you
get out and vote July 22nd for John Thomas in his runoff with Wells.

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "When you compare G.W. Bush to George Washington’s
war service, remember that George Washington did not join the National Guard,
avoid the war and then skip the Guard meetings." -- If a LIV wants to talk about
the military experiences (or lack of such) of our presidents, then he should
start on Clinton and the Mosgued man.. in fact, that should occupy his time
until his death.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Would the Ledger-Enquirer’s management/editors
please write an editorial stating professional journalism’s theory and practice
to explain the wisdom of featuring almost daily crime stories on the front
page?" -- Hmmm, wonder which of Mayor Obamalinson's staff sent this one
in?
---
You know.. Mayor Obamalinson will probably be out soon blaming HB60 for the
expense of having to move the security check point from outside her Council
Chamber to the front doors. Sorry, but that expense will be solely on her as
it's her choice to do this. The sad thing is that no security check point is
going to stop anyone with a sick motive to bring a gun into the Service Center.
No security guards are "ready" for a sicko on a mission who already expects to
be challenged.
---
From the L-E's "Today in History" feature: " In 2009, death claimed Michael
Jackson, the “King of Pop,” in Los Angeles at age 50 and actress Farrah Fawcett
in Santa Monica, California, at age 62." -- Hmmm.. poor Farrah Fawcett... she'll
always play second fiddle.. be the "plus 1", when it comes to commemorating
deaths on June 25th.
---
L-E headline: "SCHWOB MEMORIAL LIBRARY * Columbus State’s library expands
digital access to journals * Approximately 14,000 online scholarly journals
available to students, faculty" -- Hmmm.. and why aren't all Georgians granted
access to the source? Should not all taxpayers be able to access what we pay
for? To cite Hillary, "what difference does it make" whether you're enrolled in
or employed by a state institution?
---
Whoa! Remember the sob story about the little girl who's face was mangled
by her grandfather's pit bull being asked to leave a KFC restaurant? New
evidence seems to point at the story was a scam, a hoax perpetrated by the
girl's family to extract sympathy and money. Seems the family has a donation
website they wanted to spur traffic onto. Restaurant videos can show no time she
was at the KFC as her grandmother claims. Let's pray for the little girl and her
family.. pray the girl gets all she deserves .. and pray extra hard that the
grandmother gets MORE than she deserves!

L-E story: "Jay Leno no longer has “The Tonight Show,” but he’ll soon have
a new honor to add to his resume. On Wednesday, the John F. Kennedy Center for
the Performing Arts announced that the comedian will receive the 17th annual
Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. * “Like Mark Twain, Jay Leno has offered us
a lifetime’s worth of humorous commentary on American daily life,” said Kennedy
Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein in the announcement. “For both men, no one
was too high or too low to escape their wit, and we are all the better for it."
-- Whoa! Is this not as hypocritical as liberalism can get? Mark Twain...the man
who wrote "Tom Sawyer" & "Huckleberry Finn" classics which public schools
no longer want to put on the shelves of their libraries has an award named for
him and it's presented by one of the most liberal institutions in the world.
Fact is, if the Kennedy Center announced is was giving Mark Twain his own award
posthumously, every wacko group, every Rutgers' faculty member, and the
Democratic Party would be out in protest.

Online story: "The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and
ex-secretary of state Hillary Clinton explained in a new interview why she left
lucrative professions and opted for working with her family’s philanthropic
foundation. ‘I was curious if I could care about (money) on some fundamental
level, and I couldn’t,’ she said. * Comparing her experience to the average
millennial, the 34-year-old former first daughter defended jumping around to
different careers — from consulting to a hedge fund to academia to journalism —
before finding her true calling working with her parents." -- Good grief..
Chelsea probably believes her parents aren't well-off, too. Chelsea lives in a
$10 Million dollar apartment, had a $2-$3 Million dollar wedding, accepts $600K
from NBC as a part time second job to her work at her parents "tax shelter
foundation" which let's them channel money to her in the form of a salary rather
than paying the higher gift tax on just handing it over to her. and she "doesn't
care about money"? She's a Clinton, and the only money she doesn't care about is
the "other people's money" her parents have spent as they pleased.
