Interesting fact for those in the Columbus, GA area:
Just compared the proposed budgets passed by Columbus and Atlanta for the next fiscal year. Columbus, with a current population of 200,000 has a new budget of $263.000,000.00. High cost-of-living Atlanta, population of 450,000, has a new budget of $568,000,000.00. Glad we live here...whoa... wait a minute.. the average Columbus expenditure per resident in Columbus is $1.312.00 and Atlanta's average per resident is $1,262.00. Hmmmm, how can that be?
---
Just thinking about the high cost-of-living we conjure up "thinking about" (or in PC vernacular... profiling/stereotyping) Atlanta vs Columbus... my next thought focuses on property taxes.. that's got to be the big difference in the thought process. Surely, with all the complaints Mayor Obamalinson complains about, Columbus is not collecting enough in property taxes. Here we go: Seems Atlanta projects $162,000,000.00 and Columbus projects $98,000,000.00... hmmm...whoa... wait a minute... property taxes in Atlanta are averaging $360.00 per resident, and Columbus residents are paying $490.00 per resident!
---
Above continues.. milage rates.. maybe that's the problem.. we are only paying about 17 mils on our real estate... hmmm.. Atlanta residents are only paying about 10 mils.. We are being lied to about how under taxed we are! Looks like there was an important issue left out of the last election campaign cycle.
---
Hmmm, and 7 of our Councilors feel $244,000.00 for a public bathroom is a wise and affordable use of our tax dollars...

BTW, if you attend "Let's talk with the Mayor" this Thursday, take this
column with you for discussion topics.. Oh, she already has a copy.

From L-E story on Council vote for the $244K bathroom: "After some
discussion, and after deciding that the restroom should be locked at night to
prevent vandalism, * "The nearest public restroom is about a half-mile south, so
citizens visiting the Martin Bridge would have a mile round-trip walk for a
restroom break without the new facilities." -- Hmmm.. so liberals complain about
obesity and school lunch menus, but balk at getting some exercise while out
walking around the RiverWalk.. hmmm sounds like there's a lot od
self-justification being juggled to spend $244K on a bathroom. ... and what are
"they" going to do when "they" go at night and find the bathroom is locked?
Liberals and common sense... and common sensability shall never connect,

Online headline: "Breaking News: Suspected Ringleader in Benghazi Terror
Attack Captured" -- "suspected"? Good grief, he's walked around for the last 21
months bragging about it on US media interviews...
---
HuffPost headline: "Hillary Clinton Responds To Capture Of Benghazi Suspect * "I'm very please" -- At what.. the timing for her book tour, and Fox & CNN interviews? Gosh, the terrorist has walked around hiding in plain sight for the last 21 months until his arrest. Reminds me of when Bill Clinton was offered "Osama bin Laden's "head of a silver platter" back in the middle of his first term of office... and he said "no".

Hmmm, so Hillary now says she is "very pleased"... Well, I'm going to put
her own words back into her face... At this point, what difference does it
make"!

One of the BeenHazy culprits has been arrested, and is being brought to the
US for incarceration..our Mosqued Man says Republicans don't want him in US
Courts because of favorable coverage. BS..Republicans just don't want him
lawyering up and getting the California District Court of Appeals to free him on
a technicality, and the Democrats just want to raise him up a
flagpole.

Now, 6 more IRS executives are claiming all their e-mails are irretrievably
lost.. how convenient is that? Hey, next April.. before you e-file your tax
returns, especially if you owe more, send an e-mail saying your e-file is
attached, and when IRS sends you a snail-mail letter claiming it wasn't, send
them back a snail-mail saying your computer crashed, and you need the copy you
attached to the e-mail IRS must have "irretrievably lost".
---
That Mosqued Man is sending 275 Marines in to protect the US Embassy in
Baghdad. He's parsed the order to claim he hasn't sent "Combat Troops" but do
you think the Marines, especially the 275, have a different take on the
situation?
---
Remember 20 years ago when you heard the LA Police Department was
reportedly trying to stop a slow white Bronco on the expressway...and you
thought about Denver QB John Elway?
---
You know, under the circumstances in the Mid-East, isn't it time for our
Mosqued Man write an Executive Order to round up every illegal alien from the
Mid-East here on an expired Visa?
---
You know, it's good we have video records of the campaign rhetoric/promises
of the Man of Steal. Otherwise he could say he claimed his administration would
be the most "transgendered' rather than the most " transparent" administration
in history.
---
Wonder if the NCAA has even thought about what allowing college athletes to
unionize? Can't you see high profile high schools, and middle schools, too,
sports "mills" booster clubs recruiting & paying coaches high 6-figure, even
7-figure salaries while most schools sports programs operate
traditionally?
---
You know... players could have a way to go to school and play football and
get paid..Just make achieved (and maintained) academic scholarships separate
from athletic skills scholarships. Universities could then pay all academically
superior students to either play football or go to classes. Base the "salary" on
a GPA 'curve' from a 3.8-to-4.0 GPA. Oh, confine such scholarships to medical
and other science curricula.
---
Online story: "President Obama on Tuesday announced plans to create what
could be the largest marine preserve in the world, an initiative that aims to
protect "pristine" Pacific Ocean environments but could run into opposition from
the fishing industry and lawmakers worried about the president's use of
executive power." -- Good grief...does the Student Loan Ranger think he's Moses
and can separate the radiation contaminated Japanese waters from the rest of the
Pacific?
---
Online quote site: "“True courage is being afraid, and going ahead and
doing your job anyhow, that's what courage is.” - Norman Schwarzkopf" -- Hmmm,
wonder if that Mosqued Man thinks about this during crises as he heads to either
a round of golf or a DNC fundraiser?
---
Online headline/story: "Harry Reid Pledges to Boycott Washington Redskins
Games * This is personal for me. I represent 27 tribes as the Senator from
Nevada and have worked to protect their homelands and their sovereignty. I have
a duty to ensure that the United States uphold centuries-old treaty and trust
obligations towards Native Americans, and I take this responsibility very
seriously. *I will not stand idly by while a professional sports team promotes a
racial slur as a team name and disparages the American people." -- Huh? and he's
been "serving" 27 Nevada tribes in Congress since 1987, and now he says
something? Wanna bet he hasn't ever attended a football game in his life..and
probably thinks the Redskins is a soccer team in the World Cup?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The most unlikely classification for an American
citizen would have to be gay minority working class female Republican. That
would be a short list indeed." -- AHA! The uber-lib revealed him/herself!
Another claim without substantiating facts.. Everyone knows that if there's a
"gay minority working class female" (BTW, I thought "gay" was a male), she would
be voting Republican to lower the .
taxes Democrats would want her to pay to support the non-working ones
---
L-E headline/story: "HEPATITIS DRUG * $1,000-a-pill Sovaldi jolts U.S.
health care system * Your money or your life? * Sovaldi, a new pill for
hepatitis C, cures the liver-wasting disease in 9 of 10 patients, but treatment
can cost more than $90,000." -- Hmmm so a 90 treatment solution can save 9
out-of-10 lives.. you know, that's probably a bargain to the current cost of
trying to do the same but with more failures. Of course, there should be a big..
no HUGE condition attached to being given treatment.. that no patient can ingest
any substances that contributed to the decline in health for the rest of that
patient's life. Failure to do so should require the patient to reimburse any
third party payer. Failure to do so should require the patient to reimburse any
third party payer.
---
L-E headline/story: "Obama to meet with top lawmakers as he weighs Iraq
airstrikes * Obama will discuss foreign policy with Senate Majority Leader Harry
Reid, House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi at the White House." -- Hmmm, sounds like
that Mosqued man is more interested in sharing the blame than finding a
coalition solution.. why doesn't he either include 4 leaders the American
citizens have confidence in.. or add Kerry & Clinton to the mix so the rate
of failure will be 100%.
---
Finally... all those "trailers" (well, the school system referred to them
as "modular classrooms so it could justify the higher prices it was paying for
them) at our schools are being removed. Now, if there is any salvage money
gained, it should be retained and put in an account that allows it only to be
spent on material to maintain current existing buildings.
---
L-E headline: "GROUPS SUE OVER PRISON CONDITIONS IN ALABAMA" -- Ooops, my
bad.. thought citizens had gotten fed up with cable TV in the jails.
---
Hey, CSU.. Penn State "acting Athletic Director", David Joyner is
available, and you shouldn't need a recruiter to get him/.. That's about a $50K
savings to a 'headhunter" you could use towards a good salary.
---
L-E headline: "OBAMA SEEKS TO DRAW ATTENTION TO MANUFACTURING" -- Hmmm..
did someone actually tell him what a "job" actually is?
