Online story: "A draft of the Texas Republican Party's new platform embraces gay conversion therapy, arguing that it is a viable option for "patients who are seeking escape from the homosexual lifestyle."-- Good grief, Texas, back off. You're adding fuel to a fire that can't be legislated. The moral sins of all are things that each must deal with God on an individual basis. Limit legislating to control crimes as in the Commandments, Our faith gives us strength and insight. We have nothing to win in a battle of nanny-nanny-poo-poo.

On the other hand, same sex couples will not get acceptance until, until they practice restraint of PDAs like heterosexual couples should as well.

L-E story: "The parents of a Columbus teenager killed in a drunken driving crash two years ago have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against two businesses that allegedly sold alcohol to their daughter’s 17-year-old boyfriend on the evening she died. * The suit outlines how Q^^^^^ allegedly purchased alcohol that night with an altered driver’s license. Circle K sold a 30-pack of Keystone Light beer to Q^^^^^, who was 17 at time. * The suit claims that Q^^^^^ presented a fake ID that did not have his photo on it, and clearly stated “under 21” until April 18, 2013." -- There are electronic license readers, (you've seen them when you vote) , and while a few states aren't on the system, it would be a great way to circumvent most fake driver's licenses. Make them mandatory to use at all places that sell alcohol.

Yesterday, the Mayor Obamalinson announced some pretty good savings on our jail medical care contract with Columbus Regional. I applaud that... today.. but what about tomorrow? Why will we continue to give Columbus Regional over 1/6th of our city property taxes for indigent care? Isn't OObamaCRAP suppose to give everyone insurance and shouldn't that mean there are no more indigent patients? In a way, the City will be giving 1/6th of our property taxes to Columbus Regional while Columbus Regional will be taking payments from individuals' insurers, and that includes tax money we've paid to government for Medicaid and state children's programs. Sounds a bit like Columbus Regional will be double-dipping on their neighbors,.. US!

One other "item" in the above story sticks out as you digest it.."Tomlinson said the difference between three mills on the entire tax digest versus applying it only to taxes collected will be a drop from $13.4 million to $12.9 million in fiscal 2015." -- If the City will "save" $500K by not have to pay for property taxes not collected, then there's another $2,500,000.00 the City is not collecting on the other 5/6ths of the property taxes assessed. Seems it would behoove, and benefit us, if the City aggressively collected those uncollected taxes.

Well, it looks like our local murder totals have reached double digits on everybody's tally sheets. It'd would be wonderful if it was zero, but it isn't and looks like it will jump last years amount. Of course, in an analytical world, 10/11 murders is only a weekend's worth in Chicago which has unconstitutional gun control laws.

LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Whether sincere or political, I don’t care. Thanks, John Wells, for at least trying to keep my wife from becoming one of David Lewis’ sacrificial lambs. You earned my vote." -- Good grief.. After 28 years "hands on" financial management he claims, don't you think our finances would be in great shape so situations like this would not be occurring? Chances are, with good management, many duplicitous jobs would not have been on the books all these years, and those savings could have been used more wisely.

From the L-E's "Today in History" feature: "On this date: In 1769, frontiersman Daniel Boone first began to explore present-day Kentucky." -- Hmmm, well, in 1750, 19 years prior to Boone, Dr Thomas Walker built the first cabin in Kentucky. A replica of it has been reconstructed in Dr. Thomas Walker State Park in Barbourville, KY. FTR, Dr Walker is my one of my ggggg-grandfathers.

L-E headline: "OBAMA, PUTIN MEET FOR FIRST TIME SINCE CRISIS IN UKRAINE" -- Hmmm, after seeing Putin shirtless, and Judas 00-Barnum's latest 'work out video', do you imagine Putin sorta laughing? It reminder me of the old Saturday Night Live skit with Hans and Fritz wanting "to pump you up". Wonder if Putin called 00-Barnum a "girlie boy'?

L-E story: " WASHINGTON — Consumers revved up their borrowing in April, with growth in credit card debt accelerating at the fastest pace in more than a dozen years. * The result was fueled by autos and student loans, which rose by $18 billion, and credit card debt, which was up $8.8 billion. The upswing in credit card debt represented a 12.3 percent gain" -- Whoa.. let's not go overboard with excitement.. Debt is debt, but long term debt of depreciable cars, and imaginary assets like a future job put these debts in a different class, and not nearly as desirable as home purchases. Student loan debt already exceeded $1 Trillion dollars before this, and there aren't anymore jobs getting filled.
---
L-E headline: "JOBS REPORT SENDS STOCKS HIGHER" -- Slow down.. the news needs a bit of parsing.. a couple of hundred thousand jobs is about half of the amount of people claiming first time unemployment benefits, and the "steady" 6.3 "unemployment rate" just means that there are still way too many people who aren't working are also not looking for work.
---
L-E story: "A Vermont gun importer is blaming the White House for its laying off of 41 workers because the government blocked its plan to bring nearly $30 million worth of antique, American-made military rifles home from South Korea. * The White House’s refusal to allow Century International Arms, of Fairfax, to re-import the World War II-era M1 Garand rifles is an apparent result of new rules set up last summer concerning requests to ship military-grade firearms back into the U.S. * President Barack Obama’s administration said the policy is intended to keep “military-grade firearms” off the streets." -- 70 year old M1 rifles are considered "street guns"? If there's anything laughable about this is that the entire New England Congressional entourage helped eliminate jobs for 41 of the citizens of New England when they supported Judas 00-Barnum's executive order.
---
Online headline: "Hillary Clinton team blasts NYTimes for unfair treatment" -- Good grief , how much longer did she think they would give her a complete pass?
---
From the "did you know" department - Hmmm, Florida has Department of Agriculture Law Enforcement pursuit vehicles. Why? Do you want an agriculture desk official chasing down a semi? Wouldn't it be better, safer if whoever was examining trucks just radioed ahead to the State Patrol to pull a truck over?

FTR, Judas 00-Barnum has accomplished exactly what he wanted in trading Taliban for Bergd(_*_)hl.. Benghazi/BeingHazy, and IRS, are off the conservative sites front pages, and the VA will soon follow. Even Hannity's focus group show was all about this trade.

Subject line of e-mail from www.barackobama/organizingfor action.com : "Hal, whose side are you on?" --I cannot stop laughing to continue.
