HuffPost headline: "Obama On Bergdahl Swap: 'Something That I Would Do Again'" -- DOH! Like this was something new.. original? Judas 00-Barnum started selling out America's prestige when he scheduled his first apology tour.
---
HuffPost headline: "Taliban: Bowe Bergdahl Was Treated Well In Captivity" -- Well, I guess when you let someone have run of the camp and can move around the countryside unfettered, that would be being treated well in Taliban country. The fact he wasn't killed when he "escaped" a few times is testament to his Taliban conversion.

Online story: "California Chrome and jockey Victor Espinoza lost the 1 1/2-mile race on a hot day at Belmont Park, where tens of thousands of fans were packed in hoping to see history. It was not to be, leaving Affirmed as the most recent Triple Crown winner in 1978. * "I thought he was gaining ground, but he didn't have it in him, apparently," owner Steve Coburn said immediately after the race. He complained that some of the horses sat out some races, and were entered just to knock out California Chrome. "It's all or nothing. This is not fair to these horses and to the people that believe in them. This is the coward's way out." -- "complained ...some of the horses sat out some races, and were entered just to knock out California Chrome"? Huh? Good grief.. somebody should have put a feed bag on the owner's face to muzzle him. It's OK for horses to whinny, but rather obnoxious when an owner is whiney. Pass the man some cheese.

Online headline: "Hershey Sues Edible Marijuana Company" -- Ooooops, my bad... thought maybe Hershey also owned "Hashey", too.
---
Online headline: "MIAMI (AP) — President Barack Obama is moving ahead with his push to close the Guantanamo Bay prison despite the uproar over the exchange of five Taliban prisoners for a captured American soldier, an administration official said Thursday. * The government has been working to reduce a backlog of prisoners already approved after a security review for transfer to their homeland or repatriation elsewhere * The U.S. holds 149 men at Guantanamo * Among the total are 78 who have been cleared for transfer to their homeland or repatriation to another country" -- Hmmm, wonder if the priority ratings are on whether any of them play golf? On the other hand, when Obama promised he'd bypass Congress with his "pen and phone" to get his stuff done, we didn't know was talking about the "pen" at Gitmo, and using his "terrorist cell" phone.
---
From the"it's beginning to make sense" department: It's beginning to look like Judas 00-Barnum traded for Tali-Bergd(_*)hl, but not U.S.M.C. Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, because Tahmooressi is an American soldier and patriot.
---
Hmmm, Hunter Biden, son of Bleep Veep, is working for a Ukraine company trying to reduce Ukraine's dependence on Russian gas and oil, a goal that parallels U.S. efforts to aid Ukraine's energy industry. while his father and others in the Obama administration attempt to influence energy policies and other issues of the new government, which is gripped in a struggle with Russia and pro-Russian separatists to control the county." Hmmm, sounds like a definite conflict of ethics, if not interest, with a bit of nepotism/bribery on the side. Somebody should have to step down,, I vote for Joe.. that way Judas 00-Barnum won't feel as safe with people knowing someone other than Joe Biden is next in line.
---
Online story: "Washington Democrats on Saturday announced the names the of U.S. cities that have submitted official bids to host their 2016 national convention -- Cleveland, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Birmingham, Ala., and Columbus, Ohio." -- Can you not imagine the unfettered guffaw of Debbie Washerwoman Schultz when she opened the bids and saw Birmingham, Cleveland, Phoenix, Philly, and Columbus, OH on the list?
---
Online headline/story: "Macon Officials Say New Gun Law Is Driving Performers Away From Public Venues * Officials in Macon say at least one performer is threatening to pull out of an upcoming concert at one of two city-owned venues because there could be guns in the crowd." -- Hmmm.. how about making Macon "officials" name the name(s) of such claims.. my guess is that it's "Minnie Moore". Besides, the rest of the entertainers booked shouldn't have to feel like people think it could be them.
---
Watched a little dirt bike games on ESPN yesterday..was killing time before my nephew's wedding. Those boys were "wow".. Wait a minute....those " boys" aren't boys at all , just men who haven't grown up. Why are they role models/ examples for preteen boys?
---
Online story: "Multimillionaire director Michael Moore, who regularly rails against the rich, is in a nasty battle with his estranged wife over their pending divorce settlement. * In court filings, Moore claims his wife “unilaterally wasted a large percentage of the marital funds” * While the couple’s combined net worth has not been made public, Moore’s estimated net worth alone stands at $50 million. …this is a guy who has railed against wealth in America for years: “fat-cat corporations,” “one-percenters,” “rich Republicans,” on and on." -- So Moore is complaining his wife "unilaterally wasted a large percentage of the marital funds", she can counter sue that Michael has "unilaterally WAISTED a large percentage of the marital funds.
---
Online headline: "Pope Francis Shakes Up Vatican Financial Watchdog Board By Firing... Everybody" -- Hmmm, think we can get the Pope to visit our IRS, DOJ, and White House next month?
---
Well, what's it going to be.. Real reports have our economy shrinking, unemployment filers up, but government says more jobs are being created. Who do you believe... surely not anyone associated with the White House...
---
From an L-E story on the purchase of the RiverMill Events Centre: "...RiverMill being connected to downtown via the River-Walk and rubber-tire trams. That way if someone wants to stay at either end, there will be transportation without having to drive or use a bicycle. It could include corporate guests at the hotel or convention-goers looking for something fun to do." -- Motorized vehicles using the RiverWalk? Well, why don't "we" just open up the "bicycle trails for them as well. Good ideas,, like the Chattahoochee Restoration need to have a point where "more" is not good. Instead of a natural river again, we have an amusement park. Adding motorized trams will leave the door open for motorcycles, or Mayor Obamalinson to set up a high-speed train to run on the RiverWalk, too.
---
L-E headline: "Police seek man who allegedly shot at girlfriend, hit her new boyfriend instead" -- Deja vu... the police need not waste its time catching or jailing or processing him. Remember back in the 90's when a person was shot in car leaving the Government Center? Well, the person killed was not the one the shooter was trying to kill, so a jury found him "not guilty" of first degree murder.
---
L-E story: "A man charged with dousing a homeless man with kerosene and setting him ablaze pleaded not guilty to the assault charge in Columbus Recorder’s Court on Saturday. * Steve Blake is accused of burning a 48-year-old man at the tent city campsite near the downtown exit off J.R. Allen Parkway late Tuesday. Judge Julius Hunter ordered Blake, who surrendered to police held on $100,000 bond and bound the aggravated assault charge over to Muscogee County Superior Court. * (Police detective Jason) Brown said the victim and a woman were at the campsite drinking beer when the victim was splashed with kerosene and burned." -- How about the success of Mayor Obamalinson's "Ridding the Homeless in 10 Years Committee/Commission? Liberals "know" no one can make successful choices for other people, yet, as long as they are spending other people's money on what libs feel are 'good intentions', the problem didn't get solved because "we" just didn't spend enough money or the wrong people were in charge. And what about setting a "bond" for $100,000.00? Did the courts think he'd make a bond set at $5.00?

Columbus Council: "City Attorney's Agenda -
First readings:
"An ordinance adopting an operating budget for the fiscal year 2015 beginning July 1, 2014, and ending June 30, 2015, for certain funds of the Consolidated Government of Columbus and appropriating the amounts shown in each budget. (Budget Review Committee)" --- Hmmm, how about an ordinance that requires a budget to be fully funded by revenue stream (court mandates being the only exception)?
" An ordinance amending Article VII of Chapter 13 of the Columbus Code Solid Waste Collection and Disposal by increasing the monthly residential garbage fee; updating the guidelines for an offset to the residential rate for low-income households; and for other purposes. (Budget Review Committee)" -- Mayor Obamalinson wants to talk trash and raise the cost of such. Guess she thinks her trash is more valuable after re-election.
" An ordinance amending Sections 5-9 (G) and (H) of the Columbus Code so as to increase registration costs for all domestic dogs and cats in Muscogee County; to allow for an increase in the handling cost licensed veterinarians can charge for the handling of these registrations; to establish a fee for euthanasia services provided for county or municipal agencies from outside of Muscogee County; providing an effective date of July 1, 2014; and for other purposes. (Budget Review Committee)" -- Hmmm, how about if we all just let'em loose into the feral population and somebody else will take care of them for free?
" An ordinance amending Article XI of Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code so as to redefine the position of executive director of the Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission so as to make it a position of Division Chief in the Department of Public Works; and for other purposes." -- You know, Mayor Obamalinson rails about the funding of the Civil War Museum, yet wants to fund another private foundation?
" Authorizing 911 charges of $1.50 per billable telephone per month, e911 charges of $1 per month and prepaid wireless 911 charges of $0.75 per month, all as authorized by OCGA. (Budget Review Committee)" -- Hmm, does that include those Obamaphones?
" TAXPAYER BILL OF RIGHTS PUBLIC HEARING:
9 a.m. The budget tentatively adopted by the Consolidated Government of Columbus requires a millage rate higher than the rollback millage rate. Therefore, before the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, may finalize the tentative budget and set a final millage rate, Georgia Law requires that three public hearings be held to allow the public an opportunity to express their opinions on this increase." -- This is giving taxpayers' the right to say "no"? I don't think so.. Just keep up with the next election cycle in two years and remember who's voting to ignore your voice.
CITY MANAGER’S AGENDA
"Georgia Department Of Transportation, High Priority Project Funding For Construction Restrooms On The RiverWalk: Authorization is requested to enter into an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to accept a High Priority Project grant for $195,088.80 with a 20 percent local match of $48,772.80 for total grant amount of $243,861.60. Authorization is also being requested to accept a $10,000 grant from Uptown Columbus for this project, which will leave a remaining balance of $38,772.20 for construction of restrooms on the RiverWalk under the Martin Memorial Bridge." -- Has anyone actually seen these plans for a $244K public bathroom? Is there an example existing we can see and compare it to?
