HuffPost story: " The Swedish furniture giant Ikea is raising the minimum wage in all of its U.S. stores, and it's doing so in a way that may raise the bar for American retailers. * According to Ikea, the move will boost the average store minimum wage to $10.76, a 17 percent increase, and bring raises to approximately half of the company's 13,650 U.S. employees" -- Hmmm.... so Ikea is a "good guy" Liberalville? Half its employees are getting a raise to 10.67.... Hmmm... didn't Walmart, the liberals' Satan, and recently vilified by the NY Times, show it already pays its full time hourly employees an average of over $12.00 per hour? Maybe Ikea's money is "greener" than Walmart's...

Online story: "A federal appeals court ruled for the first time Wednesday that gay couples have a constitutional right to marry, extending the movement's legal winning streak and bringing the issue a big step closer to the U.S. Supreme Court. * The three-judge panel in Denver ruled 2-1 that states cannot deprive people of the fundamental right to marry simply because they choose a partner of the same sex." -- And exactly which Constitutional Amendment is this written/guaranteed? The 14th Amendment, Section 1 reads:
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. "
On the other hand, In his dissent, Justice Paul J. Kelly Jr. said the 10th Circuit overstepped its authority and that states should be able to decide who can marry.
Our Constitution does support him:
9th Amendment: "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people"
10th Amendment: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"

Now.. the 14th Amendment's Section 3 does raise issue with whether we should be paying the salary/pension of the Democrats who voted to take over our healthcare system:
"Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

From the "suspicion's confirmed" department - HuffPost story: "Federal employees at the Environmental Protection Agency have been instructed to stop defecating in the hallway of a regional office in Denver, Colo., according to an internal e-mail obtained by Government Executive. * In a staff email earlier this year, Deputy Regional Administrator Howard Cantor warned of "several" inappropriate bathroom "incidents" in the building, including paper towel-clogged toilets and "an individual placing feces in the hallway" outside the restroom." -- Aha! Now we know why roadside bathrooms are dirty no matter when you use one.. the EPA has been setting the standards!

After all the dirt settled.. Charlie Rangel did get more votes than Adriano Espaillat in the New York Democratic primary for the 13th Congressional District. No majority mind you, but Rangel is heading back to Washington. Let's add Rangel along with Biden as the "Poster Boys" for federal term and pension limits.

Trey Radel (R-Fla.), the Associated Press reports. * Clawson easily defeated Democratic rival April Freeman in Tuesday's primary, in addition to Libertarian candidate Ray Netherwood." -- "easily defeated Democratic rival"? The "Democratic rival" got less than 3 of every 10 votes cast.. the Democratic Party offering was decimated!

Online story: "The District of Columbia Council on Tuesday approved a "yoga tax" on gymnasiums and yoga classes that has angered fitness buffs in the U.S. capital. * The Democratic-controlled council voted 12-1 to give final approval to a $10.6 billion budget for 2015 that included a sales tax on gyms, yoga studios and other athletic businesses," -- Hmmm... just how "inclusive" are Democrats? They've taxed white people for indoor tanning, and now they are taxing religious practices of those of Indian descent/following? Looks like a double-dose of discrimination for the Supreme Court to take on.

If hypoxia happened immediately (ala the Payne Stewart situation) how would pilots still be able to 'redirect" the airliners directions/altitude then reset the auto-pilot, and durin the same time, ignore radioing the situation back to the traffic controllers?

You have to wonder if the L-E didn't hire Jay Carney to write spin-stories about the MCSD.

L-E story: "CHICAGO — The Chicago City Council has approved an ordinance that dramatically limits where gun stores can operate and requires them to videotape every purchase to prevent one person from buying a gun for another. * Aldermen voted 48-0 on Wednesday for the law that would prohibit gun shops in most of Chicago." -- Other than if another gun was never sold in Chicago, it still wouldn't remove guns from street thugs.. but what do liberals think this law will accomplish? Have none of the Aldermen considered that people who buy guns for others are not going to step outside the store, away from cameras and turn the gun over to another?

You know.. the recent revival of the activities of CSU's President Mescon might be a catapult to better state employment practices.. how about a law, even a policy, that say when a president of a state college/university or a local school superintendent throws his/her hat into the running for another job, the state or local monitoring body put his/her position up for replacement regardless of the success of the president/superintendent landing another job. He/she has basically said he/she is either too big for the current job or has no interest in the future of this job.
