Online headline: "Hillary Clinton Admitted to Hospital" -- "Admitted to Hospital"? Hmmm, that's the only think she has or will ever "admit" to.

---

Online story: "Absent a new bill or an extension of current law, milk prices would revert to rules set in 1949, the last "permanent" farm legislation in the United States. Government price supports would kick in, based on production costs 64 years ago, plus inflation. The potential retail milk price has been estimated at $6.00 to $8.00 a gallon versus current levels near $3.50. * U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, in an interview with CNN taped Friday and aired on Sunday, urged Congress to come up with such a solution, if only an extension of the old law that expired nearly three months ago, lest milk prices start rising after Jan. 1, 2013." -- Hmmm, sounds like the dairy industry has been milking us, as well, for the past 64 years. We've obviously been paying much more than we pay at the check-off counter at Publix, so the dairies' cows aren't thye only thing that's been fattened.

---

Most every elementary school already has school crossing guards on premise for 2 03 3 hours daily, so mark all vehicles/persons that are bringing/dropping-off children or picking them up have ID stickers that allow them on school grounds, then one of those school guards remain on campus daily.

---

Why are DUMBERats so supportive of law abiding citizens being restricted to owning guns (DOH! only the law-abiding honor such laws), versus being adamantly opposed to armed, law-abiding, and well trained personnel being on campus to counter any psycho who runs amok?

---

Online headline: "Al Qaeda In Yemen Offers Bounty For U.S. Ambassador/soldiers" -- Yep, pot-US Obluster, you got al Qaeda shaking in their boots.

---

You know, I'm not really interested in who the Muslim terrorists were who attacked the Benghazi consulate. What I want to know is why our state department didn't respond or protect American citizens, and who loses their job(s). That's the only three questions that need answers.

---

Online headline: "Obama Signs Extension Of Controversial Bush-Era Program" -- Hmmm, a Bush43 extension... how come pot-US Obluster is not getting the same mainstream colonoscopy as Bush got? Things are always different when the libs have to do what's necessary.

---

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "If your taxes go up, blame the GOP. They’re the ones who want the higher income brackets to be exempt from fair share taxes. " -- Another Ron White moment...you can't fix liberals, either.

---

Another liberal's L-E "soundoff": "I’m sure Time magazine won’t miss your subscription. I’m putting in mine at this moment." -- What's he going to do when Time sends him a bill and he finds out there's not a giver-mint program that pays for it?

---

Went to "Les Miserables" with my bride yesterday. It's 'long' from a guy standpoint but a great date with your honey. If it weren't for the 12 years' difference in birth dates, I'd swear that Hugh Jackman and Mel Gibson were twins separated at birth.

Raising the tax rate of long term capital gains will seriously hamper investor confidence and participation. Not every investment skyrockets to millionaire status. In fact no stock is guaranteed to be a winner or have static growth patterns. Many investors, many "venture capitalists' will not be as eager to take the risk on new technology knowing that risk is higher and rewards are lower.

---

Now, owning gun manufacturers stock the day pot-US Oblister was elected have probably paid off big time, though 'investors' had probably best sell their stocks tomorrow to enjoy then profits they have made at this year's tax rate rather than next year's.

---

Online story: "Obama chastised lawmakers in his weekly radio and Internet address for waiting until the last minute to try and avoid a "fiscal cliff," yet said there was still time for an agreement. "We cannot let Washington politics get in the way of America's progress," he said as the hurry-up negotiations unfolded." -- "progress"? "Washington politics get in the way of America's progress"? Politics is ALL that is in the way of America's progress!

---

Wonder what the trial timeline is now for George Zimmerman since those high definition photos of his face following his assault by Trayvon Martin?

---

Why is there so much emphasis on the government debt? Why don't they talk about the government assets? Why not sell all the office buildings (after all, the Capitol and White House have been bought for years) and let realty companies own/manage them, and National Parks, let recreational professionals own/manage those, and sell oil areas back to the states and let states decide on drilling. We have tons of improperly used/managed facilities that private industry would handle better... prisons. And accounting (IRS, CBO,) maybe by H & R Block, Quicken et al. Let's put our assets to work for us!

---

I remember a banker in the early 70's telling me that earning $13,200.00 annually put you solidly in the middle class. That's almost $2000.00 less than what a full time worker on minimum wages earns today. Minimum wage was at $1.60. Today's MW is $7.25, more than 4.5 times higher than 1972's; same percentage of $13,200 in 1972 is over $59,800.00.
---
You know, slow rising wages are not the problem causing poverty... it's the hyper inflation caused by out-of-control government waste and spending, and printing excessive amounts of cash.
---
Online story: "PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Twenty-one tribal policemen believed to have been kidnapped by the Taliban were found shot dead in Pakistan's troubled northwest tribal region early Sunday, government officials said." -- Yep, pot-US Obluster, looks like you've put the Taliban out-of-business.... NOT!
---
Online story: "A lawyer who's asking to sue Connecticut for $100 million on behalf of a 6-year-old Newtown school shooting survivor who heard violence over the school's intercom system says the potential claim is about improving school security, not money." -- Hmmm, both my grandfathers told me that when someone insists it's not about the money... it IS about the money! Why doesn't the lawyer file the suit against the Lanza estate instead?
---
Online story: "PARIS — Embattled French President Francois Hollande suffered a fresh setback Saturday when France's highest court threw out a plan to tax the ultrawealthy at a 75 percent rate, saying it was unfair. * In a stinging rebuke to one of Socialist Hollande's flagship campaign promises, the constitutional council ruled Saturday that the way the highly contentious tax was designed was unconstitutional. It was intended to hit incomes over (EURO)1 million ($1.32 million). -- If even a socialist court thinks specialty taxes on the wealthy is unfair, even unconstitutional, you know it is here in America! ACLU... front and center... you have a job to do NOW!
---
Online story: "Elizabeth Warren is making one last plea to supporters to help retire her campaign debt after her pricey senate race against Republican Scott Brown." -- Why? Why are politicians ALLOWED to go into debt running a campaign? Surely banks aren't allowed to make such loans without ample collateral, and surely individuals other than the candidate him/herself cannot be allowed to 'loan', money to a candidate. What will loan-makers expect back if the candidate loses, and more importantly, what will the loan-makers expect when a candidate wins?
---
As I've brought up a few times since the election was over, pot-US Obluster is still campaigning for more donations when he knows he cannot run again... theses request amount to nothing more than blackmail or bribery.
---
Online story: "President Barack Obama gave a New Year's gift to returning members of Congress, federal workers and Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday, signing an executive order calling for an end to a years-long pay freeze." -- What a horrible example of leadership! It's like a private company giving everyone a raise because the company lost less money than the year before.
---
Online story: "LAHORE, Pakistan -- Authorities are investigating cough syrup believed to have killed 33 people in eastern Pakistan in the past three days, a government official said Saturday, the second time in recent months that suspect medicine is thought to have caused multiple deaths." -- Can't you see this now being advertised on a TV info-mercial as being 'a complete cure for your nagging cough'?
---
WRBL3 story: "Parts of a (GA) tax overhaul will also take effect in the New Year. Starting Jan. 1, manufacturers will be exempt from paying the state sales tax on energy used to produce their goods. The agricultural industry will enjoy a similar tax break." -- Hmmm, look for GA Power and other energy suppliers under the PSC authority to use this new law as a reason to raise rates on residential property energy users.
---
L-E headline: "Obama, GOP make pitch as budget talks start in private" -- Of course, pot-US Obluster's 'limp-wristed pitch' bounced a few times before it got to home plate.
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee County School District nominates 54 students for (state of GA) honors program" -- Hmmmm, 54 out of 32,000... that's 1.6 students per thousand, and that's just nominated and there will be interviews for 2900 students across the state for less than 700 spots. Congrats to the 54 students; the 6,200+/- MCSD employees might need some additional motivation.

In 2012, we finally discovered the real name of the Whitewater project committee; "The Committee to PAVE the Chattahoochee". Follow this link to see for ypourself:
---
Let's keep John Phillips on as permanent interim Superintendent! Why, because he will have to work most of the time at about $8,500 a month, so why pay big money to someone else who will do no better (or worse) that what we have?
---
Bowl season is almost here! Forget what you' read about other so-called bowl games; the bowl season starts tomorrow when the first of 9 games gegin with SEC teams involved. There are 16 games and 9 of them involve SEC teams and all 9 are favorites.
Let the cow bell ring!
---
Rumors that the New Year's Ball in Times Square is actually Dick Clark's Mausoleum are probably not true.... probably.

Online story: "Twenty-two high schools in Philadelphia will have something new when the kids return to class — condom dispensers. They are being installed over the winter break inside the nurse’s office for each school. The plan is to promote safer sex among teenagers. The chosen schools have the highest rates of sexually transmitted disease in the city. The condoms will be free to any student whose parent didn’t opt them out of the program" --"parents didn't opt them out"? Why do parents put up with this? What if the schools offered live sex exhibits in sex-ed with only an "opt-out" exclusion? Do schools think the kids would take and present such a form to their parents? Close to 100% of underclassmen are minors, and should be protected from such options from non-parental adults, especially their teachers!

---

Online story: "NEW YORK -- Stocks are dropping again on Wall Street as investors lose hope that Washington will meet a self-imposed deadline for reaching a budget deal by year-end." -- What's evident to Wall Street is that pot-US Obluster is not interested in extending the existing tax rates for anyone. Even if the Senate passes the House bill, Obluster would veto it. Why is this such a problem for mainstream media to understand?

---

The ACLU prides itself for defending the rights of the minorities affected by issues protecting the individuals rights. Therefore, why isn't the ACLU jumping into the fray against the government's attempt to single out the top few percent of taxpayers for increased taxes?

---

I don't understand why Republican pundits are still confused about why/how pot-US Obluster got re-elected. Two things made the difference: Woman are not going to vote for Republicans until Republicans stop acting like they want to control them, and the extended voting periods that allow activist groups to round up voters and take them to the polls van-fulls at a time.

---

pot-US Obluster doesn't want a deal. His demand to tax the wealthy is just a ploy to paint Republicans as guardians of the elite at the expense of the masses. The total taxes of punishing the wealthy would operate the government about 8 days so what pot-US Obluster really wants is to tap into the wallets of mainstream Americans.
---

A government issued photo ID is required to get on a plane, to register for school, to open a bank account, to test drive a car or rent one, to be admitted into a hospital, to buy cigarettes or alcohol, and yet the one Constitutional service guaranteed to American citizens, the right, the privilege, to vote in too many states is not covered by the incessant plea of government to be able to identify yourself.
---
A port strike on Eastern and Gulf ports has been delayed 30 days to work out details. One union leader brought up the fact that the recent West Coast port strike cost that area over $1 billion dollars a day..and was gleeful about it. The union leaders have no interests other than their own financial interests.

500.... That's the figure for murders in Chicago so far this year. That's the first time in 4 years that 500 have occurred, but only 12 short of the Chicago record. So much for strict gun laws.
---
Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Either it hasn’t dawned on Republicans that what’s good for the country is good for the party, or their plan is to sacrifice the country for the two percent in corporate America. " -- Ron White's absolutely right when it comes to liberals; stupidity... you just CAN'T fix it! This one has no idea of what is about to happen to him in 2013.
---
Another liberal's L-E "soundoff": "At seven percent, unemployment is the lowest in four years and home sales are the highest in three years. New car sales are up and gas prices are falling. Fox News forgot to report these things. " -- As Reagan would oft say to Carter during the debates, "Well, there you go again,". If this liberal would watch Fox for even a hour per day, he'd know none of the 'facts' he's citing have any validity. Ron White makes a living on these people.
---
L-E headline: "Thousands still without power in Arkansas" -- And where was pot-US Obluster... Hawaii? Guess he has no need for photo-ops since the election is over.
---
L-E story: " Columbus police arrested an 18-year-old woman Thursday for allegedly threatening to kill a 23-year-old man with scissors to his neck." -- Hmmm, were those scissors automatic or semi-automatic?
---
L-E story: "During a preliminary hearing Friday, Columbus Recorder’s Court Judge Michael Cielinski ordered 19-year-old Marco A. Dunlap held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling $27,500 on charges of stealing a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property." -- What a condemnation of the poverty environment, maybe not created by government programs, but surely enabled, conditioned, by such. This guy is 19! Already a convicted felon BEFORE this arrest, why was he even back on the streets?
---
L-E story: "Nebraska football fans don’t seem to be real excited about the matchup with Georgia in the Capital One Bowl as the school sold few tickets." -- Hmmm, perhaps it's 'the economy", but more than likely it's just the overall lackluster bowl pairings. Besides, what fans get excited to travel to an also-ran bowl when their team is the underdog against a SEC team?
---
Hmmm, the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South high school football game is being played today at Columbus' A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium. Of note is that there are NO Columbus high school players participating. Surely some were invited, but opted out, but I can only assume that as there's no qualification of this inn the L-E story. Regardless, how embarrassing.

Harry Reid..... What a sorry politician, even for a DUMBERat. He's chastising Republicans for spending time with their families and not being in Washington. Funny thing is why would he even want them there. The House has sent him bills and budgets that he won't even bring up on the floor of the Senate, so why do they need to be back this week?

---

Online story: "The Senate rejected three attempts Thursday to add oversight and privacy safeguards to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) amendments that authorize the warrantless wiretapping program begun under President George W. Bush, but delayed a final vote on the measure until Friday. * The program, which the Bush administration started without congressional authorization shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks, collects intelligence on Americans who are communicating abroad with foreign "targets" designated by spy agencies like the CIA and National Security Agency * While conceding that the bill could use some oversight improvements, Sen. Dianne Feinsten (D-Calif.), the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, urged passage of the bill without alteration to avoid prompting both a fight with the House of Representatives, which has already passed a "clean," unamended version of the bill, and also the program's expiration. * Feinstein did not elaborate on how the program, which authorizes year-long searches, would be interrupted by expiration. But pointing to a long list of interrupted terror plots since 9/11, she added that "There is a view of some that this country no longer needs to fear attack. I don't share that view." -- Hmmm, "There is a view of some that this country no longer needs to fear attack"...wonder if the "some" work in the White House and State Department? Either way, it looks like we would be safer if Harry Reid had stayed home and played with his family than come back to Washington early.

---

The above demonstrates how contrary Senator Reid and the DUMBERats are. The FISA bill the DUMBERats just voted down is the verbatim bill that they voted for last time. Guess they 'proudly' stand up and say they were 'for' the bill before they were 'against' the bill. Of course, chance are that none of them actually read the bill before voting.

---

Online headline: "Clinton To Return To Work Next Week" -- She shouldn't be allowed to step foot in her office or advise on policy without a written note from her doctor, and only after testifying in the Benghazi hearings.

---

Bentley, owned by Volkswagen since 1998, just fired its chaplain for fear of alienating its non-Christian customers. --- Well, with marketing primarily to the 1% (plus overpaid Hollywooders and professional sports stars), Bentley might better rehire that priest to pray that pot-US Obluster doesn't collapse that market.

---

Nearly 9 million people collected SS Disability checks in December... another new record for pot-US Obluster's legacy. SSI is not what Seniors paid into and collect.

---

350,000 new unemployment filings. Lower than expected, but still on an 18 million annual rate. Oooops! Then a disclaimer was mentioned. Seems Monday was a Fed (and many states followed suit) holiday, and a lot of those were not reporting... Why wasn't this tidbit the emphasis of the report?

---

Where does Harry Reid get off telling anyone else that John Boehner is putting his own career ahead of the rest of the country? Reid has intentionally tabled all the House bills on the economy, and has yet to.produce a budget in the last 3+ years.

---

We don't have "foxes guarding the henhouse", we have " gluttons guarding the refrigerator". Not my analogy ( a Fox News guy), but It's worthy to pass on.

---

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is blasting the thought of putting armed guards in the schools, yet he sends his children to a school that already employs armed guards. There's something about DUMBERat leaders just not wanting their voters to have the same equality.

---

Remember reading "Animal Farm" in high school? "ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS." Hmmm, guess the DUMBERat leaders are 'donkeys' and their minions are 'jackasses'.

---

Made another error when I said at least one of the State Department 4 was still getting paid... ALL 4 are still working and still on the payroll! This already happens in the NYC school system when a teacher is laid off; wouldn't be a bit surprised to see GM adopt the same policy for all their union workers.

---

Looks like the DUMBERats have backed themselves right into Br'er Rabbit's briarpatch. For years they have loathed the tax cuts pushed through by Bush43, and now they can blame Republicans if they expire. Hmmm, tears... well, crocodile tears at best.

---

Clegg's Fireworks.....didn't know we had a choice other than the "Bang-Bang" & "Boom-Boom" wimmin. Happy New Year!

---

So much for the TV volume "spikes" going away. Several cable channels seem to have lowered their broadcast volume for shows which means when the show cuts to ads the ad volume is already "up" and blaring.

---

Is it any wonder that by government creating inner city poverty centers with entitlement programs that the drug culture has thrived?

---

Justice Sotomayor just denied a Christian organization its right to exercise its religious rights concerning birth control by contradicting her stand concerning a Muslim prisoner's right to have a Ramadan meal served in prison.

---

Signed up for "Inaugural Updates" at barackobama.com, and dang if the guy is still asking for campaign donations. Does he ever turn off his campaign mode?

---

Online story: "Breaking with past practice, and changing the financial rules he, (Warren Buffett) laid down, Berkshire is buying back its own stock -- and plans to keep buying back its stock at any price up to and including 1.2 times "book value." * Remember, Berkshire's biggest "problem" most years is figuring out what to do with all its money. The company is sitting on $47.8 billion in cash right now. With banks paying 0.1 percent interest, he can't afford just to sit on it, though. He's got to invest it in something." -- Hmmm he's gotta invest it in "something"..... isn't this the same guy that feels he doesn't pay enough in taxes? pot-US Obluster wants him to "invest" in government spending by paying more in taxes, so will pot-US Obluster look at this as Buffett abandoning the ship? Anyway, looks like Buffett has just told the world, he's satisfied with what he owns, and doesn't see anything else out there to spend $47.8 Billion to acquire.

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON, Dec 27 (Reuters) - The United States said on Thursday it was suspending operations at its embassy in the Central African Republic as rebels appeared poised to move on the capital of the impoverished but resource-rich nation.

Central African Republic

In this Sunday, April 29, 2012 file photo, the town of Obo is seen from the air in the Central African Republic. (AP Photo/Ben Curtis, File) -- We have American tax dollars paying for an Embassy building here? The Ambassador must really be on pot-US Obluster's and Clinton's "s**t list".

---

Not really a Hollywood insider, but this struck me sober:

HuffPost story: "Jennifer Lopez got some bad news just in time for the new year. * A judge has sided with Lopez’s onetime chauffeur Hakob Manoukian, who started the legal battle when he sued the 43-year-old singer for wrongful termination and breach of contract. Manoukian claimed he'd been forced out of the job after Lopez's manager Benny Medina berated him in public and stripped him of certain responsibilities. * In turn, Lopez countersued, claiming that Manoukian had tried to extort her for $2.8 million or he would go public with confidential information about the singer that could have her criminally prosecuted." -- Whoa! Looks like J.Lo has let her own cat out of the bag. Hope the Hollywood and Federal DA's have taken note of her confession.

---

L-E story: "The part-time Muscogee County School District security officer who allegedly was driving an MCSD pickup truck that killed a pedestrian and sent another to the hospital Dec. 15 has been charged with second-degree homicide by vehicle and failure to maintain lane, Columbus police Lt. Tony Danford said Thursday. * Muscogee County School District communications director Valerie Fuller said Dec. 18 that Johnson was working a scheduled shift from midnight to 8 a.m. at the time of the accident, but his departure point and destination are unclear. She also said Johnson still was working in the district’s security office but not in a “mobile capacity.” -- Hmm, Johnson was a "part-time" employee driving a 2012 MCSD truck at 6:35 AM on a Saturday, and the MCSD has no idea where he was leaving from or going to, and the MCSD still has him part-time employed answering the phone in the MCSD Security office? This as worse than the State Department handling of their employees involved with Benghazi.

---

A previous Council and Mayor should be charged with aiding and abetting the death of Mrs Williams. Huh, you say? Look at the pictures and note that the sidewalks are basically only extensions of the roadway as there aren't any curbs separating the road from the sidewalk. Unfortunately, there are scores of similar sites throughout Columbus.

---

L-E headline: "Top L-E stories of 2012 Online * LITTLE LEAGUE FIGHT IS NO. 1" -- With all the turmoil of local lawyers being found violating their oaths, with all the drug-related crimes/busts/deaths, and with the 'revelation' that the MCSD SPLOST shortages will be a nightmare for the future, two adults acting badly at a Little League game topped the L-E priority list of problems in Columbus. Pitiful!

---

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "How many teachers would have to be put on permanent leave to finance armed guards in our schools?" -- Liberals only think of themselves, and for the moment... The question should be how important is it that our schools are safe for teachers as well as students. One armed guard per school would only work a daily 8-hour shift, 5 days a week for 36 weeks a year. Of course his Obamacare cost could make that less affordable, but safety is the issue. Of course, a better solution would be for teachers to be trained and armed and that wouldn't cost extra.

---

Another L-E "soundoff" of note: "The liberals want to get rid of the Second Amendment by using the First Amendment." -- Yep... without the 2nd Amendment, government could easily void the rest of the 1st Amendment... they've pretty well eliminated Christians from exercising their rights to live by their religion.

---

Another liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Isn’t it strange that Republicans who support guns everywhere for everyone didn’t allow guns in their last two national conventions? " -- Hmmm, bet the Republicans had armed and trained non-government security throughout the facility so individual guns were not necessary.

---

From the L-E's "Today in history" feature: "In 1987, a mass killing came to light as the bodies of 14 relatives of Ronald Gene Simmons were found at his home near Dover, Ark., after Simmons shot and killed two other people in Russellville. (Simmons was executed in 1990.) " -- All murders should be executed as quickly (or even quicker) as this one so the death sentence is actually a deterrent to prevent others from doing the same.

---

L-E story: "PHOENIX — Military-style semi-automatic rifles have been used in at least four high-profile shootings in the past year. Bushmaster variations of the weapon have been used in two recent attacks, including the Newtown, Conn., school shootings and the Christmas Eve ambush slayings of two New York firefighters. While commonly called the AR-15, Colt and Armalite have been the only companies to make weapons by that specific name. Many other manufacturers, however, now sell similar versions of the rifle largely styled after the military’s fully automatic M-16." -- Note that these are "military-style semi-automatic rifles", not automatic military rifles. I guess libs think buying a Cobra kit car package designed to cover a VW frame makes the result a fully functional Shelby Cobra.

---

L-E story: "A surge in jobs last month, combined with a decline in new unemployment claims, helped put a dent in the Columbus metro area’s jobless rate in November. * The Georgia Department of Labor reported Thursday that the local rate in November was 8.3 percent, down from 8.7 percent in October. That’s also lower than the 8.5 percent rate posted in November a year ago." -- Government spinmeisters are the worst at telling the truth... any surge in November and December hiring rates are mainly the part-time holiday related jobs that mainly disappear in the January figures. Reporting such an indicator of an improving economy id pure folly.

---

Is it just me, but didn't the Georhgia cities with the highest November unemployment percentages all vote for pot-US Obluster... again?

---

L-E story: "LONDON — Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition calling for British CNN host Piers Morgan to be deported from the U.S. over his gun control views. * Morgan has taken an aggressive stand for tighter U.S. gun laws in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Last week, he called a gun advocate appearing on his “Piers Morgan Tonight” show an “unbelievably stupid man.” * The petition has already hit the 25,000 signature threshold to get a White House response. By Monday, it had 31,813 signatures. Morgan seemed unfazed — and even amused — by the movement . * “If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?” he wrote." -- If a petition will work for doing this, why not petitions to obliterate Chicago, LA, New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, Atlanta which would really put a dent in the number of murders.

As we speak, XPOTUS Bush41 is still in the hospital and has been moved into ICU for more specialized care. Please pray for him and his family.

Online story: "NYPD data shows that as of this last weekend, 414 people in New York City had fallen victim to homicide in 2012, an 18.5% drop from 2011, when a total of 515 people were murdered. * For even more perspective: In 1990, 2,245 people were murdered in New York City * Overall crime for 2012, however, is on pace to increase in all five boroughs, The Wall Street Journal reports, an uptick the city hasn't experienced in 20 years." -- Murder down, but other crimes up.... must be either the cost of bullets or .... or.... the murders have moved to Chicago and found work there.

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON — Hobby Lobby Stores and a sister company, Mardel Inc., sued the government, claiming the mandate violates the religious beliefs of its owners. * Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Wednesday denied a request to block part of the federal health care law that requires employee health-care plans to provide insurance coverage for the morning-after pill and similar emergency contraception pills." -- Judge Sotomayor, appointee of pot-US Obluster, says the government can control religion in spite of the US Constitution. Either that or the new Egyptian Constitution overrules ours in her mind.

---

Online headline: "Geithner: Debt Ceiling Will Be Reached Monday" -- How appropiate... that's New Year's Eve. Hmmmm, how about cutting off government credit cards, travel allowances, and expense accounts! Wait a sec, maybe this explains why pot-US Obluster left Hawaii early.

---

Online story: "Hawaii Democrats picked U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, Schatz and Department of Land and Natural Resources Deputy Director Esther Kiaaina as final nominees for the open U.S. Senate seat. Hawaii Gov. * After fighting respiratory complications, Inouye passed away December 17 at the age of 88. The day Inouye died, he sent a letter to Abercrombie asking him to appoint Hanabusa to his seat. * Neil Abercrombie announced Schatz as Inouye's replacement Wednesday evening." -- Hmmm, maybe the others couldn't come up with a birth certificate...

---

Online story: "The federal minimum wage remains $7.25 per hour, with no cost-of-living adjustment, and prevails in 31 states that do not mandate a higher state minimum wage. The last raise to the federal minimum came in 2009, after a series of increases signed into law by President George W. Bush. * President Barack Obama, while campaigning in 2008, pledged to hike the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour and index it by the end of 2011, "to make sure that full-time workers can earn a living wage," as he said on his transition website. * Last year, Democrats in the Senate and the House of Representatives introduced legislation known as the Fair Minimum Wage Act, which would have raised the federal minimum wage to $9.80 per hour after three years and indexed it to inflation. * the minimum wage for restaurant servers and other tipped employees has been separated from the standard minimum wage, with many servers still being paid $2.13 per hour before tips, a rate that hasn't changed in two decades, as HuffPost previously reported. The Fair Minimum Wage Act would raise this "tipped minimum wage" as well, pegging it to 70 percent of the standard minimum wage." -- The gist of the story was actually about 10 states who are raising their own minimum wage on January 1st, but the interesting part was another broken promise by pot-US Obluster and the Congressional DUMBERats who COULD have easily passed such during the first and/or second tears of Obluster's presidency. On the other hand, pot-US Obluster has raised non-workers/unemployed to higher levels of government entitlement, and those probably couldn't afford a pay cut to the new minimum wages.

Online story: "A week after the Newtown massacre, The Journal News published an interactive Google Map with the names and addresses of gun permit owners in select New York cities. * The bold move has escalated into a transparency arms race, after a Connecticut lawyer posted the phone number and addresses of the Journal‘s staff, including a Google Maps satellite Image of the Publisher’s home. “I don’t know whether the Journal’s publisher Janet Hasson is a permit holder herself, but here’s how to find her to ask,” read Christopher Fountain’s blog post." -- Hmmm, bet crime in the permit holders neighborhood dropped and the crime rate will rise in the journalists' abodes.

Online headline/story: "White House Delays Life-Saving Law * White House Dragging Feet On Car Tech Known For Saving Kids * Backup cameras save lives, but automakers squawking over costs * Congress passed the measure with strong bipartisan backing, and Republican President George W. Bush signed it in 2008. * But almost five years later, the standards have yet to be mandated because of delays by the U.S. Department of Transportation, which faced a Feb. 28, 2011, deadline to issue the new guidelines for car manufacturers. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has pushed back that deadline three times - promising in February that the rules would be issued by year's end. * NHTSA has estimated that making rear cameras standard on every car would add $58 to $88 to the price of vehicles already equipped with dashboard display screens and $159 to $203 for those without them. * The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a lobbying group that represents automakers, puts the total cost to the industry at about $2 billion a year that would largely be passed on to consumers." -- "cost to the industry at about $2 billion a year that would largely be passed on to consumers"? "Largely"? Largely my DEMOCRAT mascot! And where did the NHTSA come up with those figures for costs? Prior to the bailout, UAW members in Detroit were getting an average of $78.00 per hour alone for labor.. add that into the cost of the actual electronic devices PLUS the manufacturers' and dealers' mark-ups, and the cost to consumers will probably be another THOUSAND per car (and probably more with a color camera... Oh! then the mainstream media will blame it all on BUSH43.

---

Online headline: "Here Are The New Cars That Hold Their Value Best" -- Aha! Gotcha! I have a Brooklyn Bridge to sell, also.

---

Today, I received an unsolicited e-mail from Christian Mingle... I already had issues with the Christian Mingle advertising claims, but to send this e-mail out indiscriminately to married people is definitely not very 'Christian'.

---

At least one of those Benghazi related resignations is still on the taxpayers' expense. Seems he only "resigned" from the " appointed' aspect of his job, but is still getting paid and will be allowed to return to the payroll aspect that he is now on paid administrative leave. We don't need any more laws banning guns, we need laws banning such government shenanigans!

---

NBC's David Gregory was in violation of Washington, DC gun laws for holding/showing a bullet magazine that had the capacity to hold more than 10 bullets. What other laws can be passed that would be more restrictive?

---

From a fellow BCer:

“The Israelis have it right. A psychopath would have to be crazy indeed to attack a school where everybody knows that the people are armed’’ “We could easily do what the Israelis are doing. How about some good old-fashioned American volunteerism?’’ * “It seems that the Israeli’s have got the mass school thing figured out. After all when’s the last time you heard of a mass shooting of Israeli school children?’’ -- or an EL AL air plane being hijacked and flown into a building?

---

Major question... why is the L-E sitting on the MCSD story that involved and employee driving a MCSD truck into people walking on a sidewalk at 6:35 AM on a Saturday? The event happened on a Saturday, was not mentioned until Tuesday (with additional info on Wednesday that should have been available for Tuesday's excerpt) but details are still being withheld?

---

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Middle-class Americans will pay over $2,000 more in taxes if the one percent gets an additional tax cut. " -- Hmmm, so if 3,150,000 people get a 1% tax cut, the other 311,850,000 people will pay $2,000.00 more? Hmmm $623,700,000,000. more in taxes.... that would only cover half of the debt pot-US Obluster will add onto the $6 Trillion he's already borrowed and spent buying the votes of 51% of those who voted for him. The 1% don't have that kind of money combined!

---

L-E story: "Columbus Technical College is now an official Achieving The Dream institute. Achieving The Dream is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping more community college students, particularly low-income students and students of color, stay in school and earn a college certificate and/or degree. * ATD uses data collected from its participating colleges — 168 nationwide — to evaluate strengths and weaknesses. Columbus Tech uses the information gathered to help students overcome common obstacles like financial burdens, transportation issues and even childcare challenges. It’s all about the college being open and forthright in order to improve their students’ chances at success. " -- Did I miss something? Sounds like the ATD is all about keeping as many teachers employed rather than finding work for others.

---

Another L-E story: "Columbus State University paleontologist David Schwimmer recently had an article describing an extinct species of fish published in a leading science journal. * Schwimmer, a longtime professor of geology at CSU, is the third of six co-authors of the article, The Giant Cretaceous Coelacanth (Actinistia, Sarcopterygii) Megalocoelacanthus dobiei Schwimmer, Stewart & Williams, 1994, and Its Bearing on Latimerioidei Interrelationships, published Nov. 27 in PLOS ONE, referring to the web-based, open-access Public Library of Science. * Schwimmer and his colleages present a fresh description of Megalocoelacanthus dobiei, a giant fossil coelacanth fish based on more recent fossil discoveries." -- " a fresh description of Megalocoelacanthus dobiei, a giant fossil coelacanth fish"? In the big picture, in the big scheme of everything.. does anyone of you know what this guy is talking about or care? Will it make a difference to solving lowering the cost of education and improving job opportunities awaiting graduates? Just another fish story that's beginning to smell.

---

L-E's "Thought for Today": “I’m not young enough to know everything.” — Sir James Matthew Barrie, Scottish dramatist-author (1860-1937). -- Hmmm, maybe we've been doing the education thing backwards. When students become teenagers, maybe we should send them out into the world to live on their own, and when they get 21... let'em back into the schools to learn what the found oit they didn't know...

---

L-E picture:

Rep. Anne Kaiser, D-Montgomery, an openly gay member of the Maryland General Assembly, hold N______ V______, 10 MONTHS, the daughter of a member of Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley's staff, after O'Malley signed the Civil Marriage Protection Act -- Whomever placed that shirt on a 10 MONTH old, and allowed her to be openly held by a non-family family professed lesbian, should have her motherhood rights recalled.

The Merry Minuet... sung by the Kingston Trio (watch out for rewritten versions of political correctness now showing up in Google searches):

They're rioting in Africa.

they're starving in Spain.

there's hurricanes in Florida

and Texas needs rain.

The whole world is festering

with unhappy souls.
the French hate the Germans.

the Germans hate the Poles.
Italians hate Yugoslavs.

South Africans hate the Dutch

and I don't like anybody very much!

But we can be tranquil and thankful and proud

for man's been endowed with a mushroom shaped cloud.
And we know for certain that some lovely day

someone will set the spark off and we will all be blown away.

They're rioting in Africa. there's strife in Iran.

what nature doesn't do to us

will be done by our fellow man.
-- It could have been written yesterday or tomorrow.

L-E 'headlie'/story?: "Shoplifting suspect arrested again for violating Macy’s lifetime ban * A 19-year-old who was arrested Dec. 15 for allegedly shoplifting at Dillard’s was arrested again Monday for violating his lifetime ban from all of the company’s stores." -- Last I heard was that Macy's and Dillard's were two different companies...

The ACLU has been popping up in the news defending who knows what so more people can be inconvenienced by "inaneness". If the ACLU wants to HELP lots of people, how about taking up the cause of the taxpayers who are taxed at higher rates than other paypers?

It's the day after Christmas... are you getting ready to pack up everything about it in a box and put it back in the attic until next year, or are you going to take what you experienced and go out into the world and share it until next year when you get a new battery charge?

---

Online headline: "Killer Used Same Weapon as Lanza" -- This was about the psycho who killed the foremen answering a call trap call in Webster, NY.. Again, media saturation giving one psycho national exposure has brought another out of the woodwork. Perhaps the media should issue a statement declaring how many 1000s of Bushmaster rifles have never been used to kill people indiscriminately.

---

My nominee for thr 'politically correct product/lie of the year' - One of my daughters git a wallet for Christmas that a hang tag proudly declares that it is made of "Shiraleah Veggan Leather" and it is in compliance with California Proposition 65 consumer protection law. A closer exam of the tag reveals that "veggan leather" (that's 'meatless' for those of you who were educated in the California school system) is actually a polyurethane material... PLASTIC.... which I guess is a pretty accurate description for California liberals.

---

L-E story: "ATLANTA — Three Atlanta-area counties have filed a lawsuit claiming that British bank HSBC cost them hundreds of millions of dollars in extra expenses and damage to their tax bases by aggressively signing minorities to housing loans that were likely to fail. * Fulton, DeKalb and Cobb counties say in their lawsuit, which was filed in October, that the housing foreclosure crisis was the “foreseeable and inevitable result” of big banks, such as HSBC and its American subsidiaries, aggressively pushing irresponsible loans or loans that were destined to fail. The counties say that crisis has caused them tremendous damage." -- Hmm, unusual tactic, but the suit might be aimed at suing the 1979 & 1992Congress, Xpot-US Clinton and XPOTUS Carter for passing/signing legislation that made banks/mortgage firms comply with giving
unqualified minority buyers carte blanche on housing loans.
---
How insensitive .... The L-E ran its normal Tuesday "Foreclosure Section" on Christmas day. Would it have hurt to either skip it or run it on another day this week?
---
L-E "soundoff" of note: "We live in the day of the smart phone and stupid people. " -- How true, but there's another mix that can be used to shorten this to one word... Obamaphone.
---
The SEC has nine teams playing in Bowl games this season... what's even more astounding is that all nine, including Vanderbilt, are favored by the bookies.
---
L-E story: "Around 9:45 p.m., police were called to the Macy's store in reference to a theft. A Macy's employee said he saw Scottie Dunlap take three pairs of blue jeans (total value $174) and conceal them in a bag from another store, according to the police report. Mall security apprehended Dunlap, 17, whose residence wasn't listed. He was charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting." -- "misdemeanor theft by taking"? If a store loses $174.00 worth of merchandise to shop lifting, that store will have to sell an additional $5,800.00 JUST to make up for the $174.00 that was stolen (at a 3% profit basis). That means the store is basically not going to make any profit of about $6,000.00 worth of merchandise that leaves the store. Ain't nothing 'misdemeanor' about that!

Merry Christmas!
Today's edition is short as we need to be spending this time with our families.
I feel cheated this year...there was no Christmas episode of "Bones", and the previous, Christmas episodes have been some of the best of any show.
---
Thanks to a fellow BCer, it has been brought to my attention that the Canadian eagle video of a child be snatched was a college assignment hoax. Still, the intent was one probably designed to did the park of families so the homeless and 'Occupiers' would have a place to sleep/protest.
---
I don't know why Republicans are so skittish about standing strong on the Bush43 tax rates, and holding firm on the debt ceiling. Republicans are not going to get government workers, union leadership officials, long term unemployed, or permanent welfare votes no matter what they do, so they should do something to help future generations.
---
Egyptian president Morsi claims his new constitution will protect democracy... Huh? What part of sharia law allows for anything democracy stands for?
---
Chuck Hagel's name has been thrown out as the next Sec of Defense... talk about trying to float a lead balloon...

From the "words one wishes he hadn't uttered" department: NRA President Wayne LaPierre, "if....., then call me crazy".

Fox News is spinning its wheels getting Sen Lindsey Graham, R-SC, to complain about pot-US Obluster's universally failed budget proposals. Fox News should be calling Sen Harry Reid, D-MC, instead, and if Reid won't cooperate/comment, then Fox News should make that the focus of its story.

Christmas....if it brings out the best in you, you're on the right track. If not, you're celebrating for the wrong reason.

---

I just watched an incredibly scary video of a Golden Eagle swooping down and snatching a toddler off the ground (in Montreal, Canada), and attempting to fly off with it before dropping it a few feet later. Canada will probably put a bounty out for Golden Eagles, but if that had happened in the USA, liberal eco-groups would be trying to ban taking babies to our parks so our eagles wouldn't be lured into such situations.

---

I cannot endorse the national ASPC. It runs some high powered, soulful, tear jerker ads, but some how I cannot believe the ASPC really runs any adoption facility or boards any pets at the main headquarters. PAWS, on the other hand, does.

---

Well, well, well... a bicyclist is complaining about the rough condition of the brick roads in the Historic District of Downtown. Hate to tell him but those brick roads have been like that for generations (BTW, it's a great test area to check out any new car you're thinking about buying because it will reveal any squeaks etc you'll find out about later), but I guess the bicyclist didn't notice until he stopped illegally riding on the sidewalks.

---

Speaking of riding on the sidewalks, where are the "No Bicycle Riding on Sidewalks" signs promised for Broadway by Mayor Obamalinson?

---

And speaking of brick roads, when will the state ban the dump trucks from using 2nd Avenue? Asphalt has been laid over the old brick road beds, and the dump trucks tear it up as soon as it gets any attention/repairs.

---

You could say that gun banning laws do work....... for the criminals. Communities with the toughest gun laws make it easier for criminals to ply their trade. Criminals, by nature of their designation, do not obey the laws, and the law-abiding community is unable to defend/protect itself.

---

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "So you want the poor to pay their “fair share,” too. How selfish can you be? What is the fair share of nothing? " -- Hmmm... don't liberals at least remember the stories in the Bible when they were young that addressed this... such as the Lord helps those who help themselves, the Lord loves a cheerful giver, and Jesus applauded and blessed the woman who gave but her two coins versus those who gave less than they could afford?

---

Yesterday, the Columbus L-E ran a story penned by Richard Hyatt about 'Christmas past' in Columbus, GA. The mechanical Christmas windows initiated by my dad in 1948 were the impetus of the article. I'm including a link for the BCers locally and world wide to tap into. It's personal, but think you will enjoy it. http://digital.olivesoftware.com/Olive/ODE/LedgerEnquirer/LandingPage/LandingPage.aspx?href=Q0xFLzIwMTIvMTIvMjM.&pageno=MQ..&entity=QXIwMDExMA..&view=ZW50aXR5

Online headline: "Obama Gave Warning to Boehner" -- Well, well, well... pot-US Obluster must be feeling some heat... that's the first thing Obluster has given any Republican in four years!

---

Story from above: "Online story: "Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn't reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault." -- DOH? Even if he's not blaming Bush43 or the Republicans in general, his spinmeisters and media minions are doing it for him. Do you really think he's not going to blame them anyway. Look what he did to the Supreme Court a couple of years back, and how the media chastised Joe Wilson for stating the obvious, "You LIE!".

---

Online headline/story: "Madonna Threatens To Cancel Show Because Of Smokers In Crowd In Santiago, Chile * * The singer was soundchecking when she noticed that some in the crowd had lit cigarrettes. After suddenly cutting off her performance of "Human Nature," she began berating the crowd. * There are people smoking right now," she said. "No smoking. If you're going to smoke cigarettes, I'm not doing a show. You don't care about me, I don't care about you. All right? Are we going to play that game? I'm not kidding. I can't sing if you smoke ... You're looking right at me and smoking cigarettes, like I'm a stupid f---ing idiot," Madonna said, then stormed off the stage." -- Huh? After years of smoking on stage in front of our children, strutting arouns in lingerie, and finding ways to use the "f-word" as often and as a noun, verb, adjective, and adverb, she has the gall to get upset when her fans mimic her? Well, she got one thing right, she is " like a stupid 'f---ing idiot'! May her children find copies of her book, "Sex", and present them to her to autograph on some futuire "Mother's Day"..

---

There's a Hollywood catch-word floating about... "reality star". I guess it's a way to title performers on some of those stupid 'reality shows'. Since there is nothing truly 'real' about a 'reality show', I guess being a 'reality star' is about as oxymoronic as it gets.

---

Online headline/story: "Suzy Favor Hamilton fallout: Disney distances itself from admitted call girl * Hamilton, a three-time member of the U.S. Olympic track team and a 44-year-old mother, admitted Thursday to working as a $600-an-hour escort. News of her admission to being a sex worker set of a flurry of questions and flood of controversy." -- I guess because she was straight it creates a problem for Disney. With what Disney shows on ABC Family, it sure can't be worried about her not being family fare.
---
WRBL3 story: "Georgians in 46 (of 159) counties will soon be paying higher sales taxes in order to pay for better roads. * The extra penny-per-dollar tax for transportation projects was rejected by voters in most of the state last July. But three of the 12 regions that approved it will be paying the new tax starting New Year's Day. * State officials estimate the tax will generate $152 million in its first year and $1.8 billion over 10 years to widen highways, install new traffic lights and repair aging bridges. * The money will go to 13 east Georgia counties including the city of Augusta, and a 16-county region in west Georgia that includes Columbus and Americus. The third region covers 17 southeast Georgia counties that include the cities of Dublin, Vidalia and Jesup." -- Hmmm, you know, this is sorta like building an unconnected chain from 3 different starting points. Since they'll never get connected to anything else; what's the improvement or point here?
---
We can blame Obama voters for the T-SPLOST tax... no voter for Obama thinks any tax is going to affect them personally, and they might get a share of it, so they'll vote for any tax that comes up for vote.
---
Online headline: "Court Blocks Calif. Law Banning Gay Conversion Therapy" -- seems California can't make up it's mind... but I guess that's what the issue is about.
---
L-E headline/story: "CONSUMER SPENDING ROSE 0.4 PERCENT IN NOVEMBER * WASHINGTON — Consumers spent and earned more in November, reflecting a rebound from the disruptions caused by Superstorm Sandy. " -- That sounds pretty weak to me considering how much merchandise Sandy-affected people had to buy to replace the destroyed and missing elements of their lives.
---
L-E headline: "Stocks sink after Republicans cancel budget vote" -- What did the major brokerage houses expect after supporting pot-US Obluster? I just hope they are 'long' versus 'short' in the market....Unfortunately, deep-down, we know the brokerages are set to profit from a fall.
---
L-E headline: "Kerry has overcome some political disappointments" -- The defeat to Bush43 and snub by pot-US Obluster appointing Hillary as Sec of State in the first term not withstanding, I'm nominating his getting caught and 'outed' mooring his new yacht in Rhode Island for about six months so he would avoid the heavier taxes that he would have to pay if he brought it into Massachusetts earlier than the 6 months is his biggest disappointment, well, second biggest. He still wakes up next to Teresa....
---
Hmmmm, an honest liberal's L-E "soundoff": " My comedy channel is Fox News. My news channel is Comedy Central." -- Hey, finding a honest liberal is not an easy task.
---
Hollywood's defense of it's violence in movies/video games is that they use prop guns, blanks, fake machetes, fake body parts, computer graphics and disclaimers. What they can't deny is that those "visual aids" are just as impacting, just as desensitizing as a first hand exposure to the real thing, and even worse when you see it over and over.
---
We have a rampant, a violent subculture that pulls out guns to settle things, and it's killing us...literally. It's time we address the root cause and confiscate current models and ban all future sales oh Nike Air-Jordans.

---

If you haven't contacted your Congresspersons, think about these people who would be on the Washington, DC Senatorial candidates' list: former Mayor Marion Berry, current Washington, DC Mayor Vincent Gray, the Rev-er-end Jesse Jackson, ex-Congresman Weiner, ex-Congressman Frank, former Senator Chris Dodd, or heaven forbid, former Secretaries of State Powell and Clinton.....or Xpot-US Clinton himself! Imagine both Clinton's winning Senate seats.....uggggggggggggggggggggggggh.
---
How come Mark Shelnutt's name is on the lawsuit filed against local elected officials? Wasn't he banned for Columbus for the next couple of tears or so? Maybe a judge will rush this case to court real soon, and Shelnutt could be picked up for some sort of parole/sentence violation. Just like the image perceived of Michael Curry's rage scene, Shelnutt will just not go away.
---
L-E headline/story: "Boeing engineers use spuds to improve in-air Wi-Fi * Engineers at Chicago-based Boeing Co. used sacks of potatoes as stand-ins for passengers as they worked to eliminate weak spots in in-flight wireless signals. They needed full planes to get accurate results during signal testing, but they couldn't ask people to sit motionless for days while data was gathered. * It turns out that potatoes - because of their water content and chemistry - absorb and reflect radio wave signals much the same way as the human body does, making them suitable substitutes for airline passengers." -- Wow! Who'da thunk that the phrase "couch potato" was so accurate?
--
If Congress wants effective gun control, Congress only has to adapt rules on the books, and work with the Court system to do so. Simply pass a new law that if a criminal fires a gun not legally obtained/owned by said criminal while committing any felony crime, make it an unappealable death sentence that gets carried out the same day as the verdict.
---
l-E picture depicting Egyptian voters:
Hmmm... aside from obviously praying (which is probably banned here) for Allah's guidance, notice they have removed their shoes. If that was a custom here, it would be like using chemical warfare to run voters off from polling places.

L-E headline: "Annual bird counts give scientists climate clues " -- "clues"? What kind of "bird counts' are we talking about... the ones liberals give when real scientists pooh-pooh such claims?

Pop test: Do you recognize these two people:

Wrong, first is a Tim Burton character, and the second is Wreck it Ralph! Who says movies and video games don't affect people?

---

Online headline: "Fiscal Cliff: Obama Calls On Congress To Pass Scaled-Down Package" -- pot-US Obluster wants a 'scaled-down package'? Obluster is the one person who has the capability to 'scale down', and the culpability for not 'scaling down' spending for the past 4 years.

---

Online story: "(NYC Mayor) Bloomberg has long called for stricter gun control laws. He says Friday's press conference by the nation's largest gun lobby group was "a shameful evasion of the crisis facing our country." -- Before calling anything someone else says/does 'shameful', Mayor Bloomberg should look into the mirror at what his priorities have been, like banning 16+ ounce sodas, triple cheeseburgers, salt, trans-fats, smoking, mom&pop liquor stores, and Mayoral term limits in Nannyville. What? Bloomberg hasn't banned Fox News..give him time.

---

There seems to be a lot of interest in obtaining the rights to the Hostess iconic products. With this much interest, it wasn't a bad product or reputation that bankrupted the company, just out of control union demands that crippled the company's efficiency.

---

Online headline: "FBI Gun Background Check Database Missing Millions Of Records On Mentally Ill" -- Anybody checked pot-US Obluster's birth certificate/college records lockbox?

---

Repeat headline/story: "FBI Gun Background Check Database Missing Millions Of Records On Mentally Ill * Despite improvements in recent years, state governments are failing to submit records to the Federal Bureau of Investigations of people with mental illnesses who have been institutionalized or otherwise deemed by authorities to be dangerous to themselves or others, The New York Times reported Friday. The Times cited a 2011 study by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a coalition of more than 700 city officials that is co-chaired by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I), an outspoken proponent of stricter gun control laws." -- Well, well, well... the libs have outsmarted (is that actually possible?) themselves. Privacy laws on health matters that libs have fought for keep such info unavailable unless the individual authorizes it has come back to bite'em on their butts, and since the mentally ill are already mentally ill, they cannot be deemed of sufficient metal health to authorize such info. Joseph Heller, author of "Catch 22" was right, government is a complete SNAFU in the hands of liberals.

---

Online story: "WASHINGTON — Congress sent President Barack Obama a $633 billion defense bill for next year that would tighten penalties on Iran to thwart its nuclear ambitions and bulk up security at diplomatic missions worldwide after the deadly Sept. 11 raid in Libya. * The Senate voted 81-14 on Friday for the massive policy measure that covers the cost of ships, aircraft, weapons and military personnel. The vote came less than 24 hours after the House passed the bill, 315-107." -- Hmmm, it's funny...NOT!...that no immediate roll call vote tally is available to see the 14 DSenators and 107 House members who voted against the bill, but I would take odds on 900+ % being DUMBERats.

---

Online headline from the department of "Huh?": "Margaret Thatcher In Hospital After Operation" -- I guess we can only hope she in the hospital BEFORE and DURING the operation as well.

WTVM9 headline: "CSO to present stirring war time music" -- That ought to have the staff at the Schwob School of Music and father Roy Bourgeois up in arms...

Mark Zuckerberg isn't getting caught up in the new higher income tax battle, he's just going to take a $1.00 annual salary. Smoke on that pot-US Obluster.

It's bad enough that a Bronx health clinic is using a video of "Santa" giving away condoms and clean needles, but I have a question: clean needles may correct passing/catching diseases, but will clean needles will not stop an overdose?

Until Republicans convince women they aren't try to control/invade their private lives/issues, women are not going to care whether DUMBERats lie or Republicans tell the truth. The past election proved my theory.

Online headline: "Police Arrest Men With Machetes In French 'Doomsday' Village" -- Hmmm, wonder if the media is wondering they were automatic, semi-automatic or manual versions?

Hammar is back now.. guess the Mexican government realized that Hammar was a Marine, and fellow Marines just might remake that trip to 'the halls of Montezuma' and show Mexico the Marine version of "It's HAMMAR-time".
---
Boehner has had a tough time, but it's been his own fault. He's chosen to play a public game of "chicken" with the media's favorite "rooster", rather than just stand firm on good legislative presentations.
---
I hate to even mention Geraldo Rivera's name, but he's grandstanding again. On Fox & Friends, he salubriously held up his NRA membership card and proclaimed he would come back on and "shred" it if the NRA president didn't call for banning semi-automatic rifles. Guess Geraldo is trying to get onto the Hollywood A-list.
---
That death involving a MCSD employee being out at 6:35 AM on a Saturday and running down several women (including one death) was bad enough, but the situation showed that past Council action to spend money on style versus substance has come back to haunt it. The SPLOST sidewalk program funding was inadequate for all the projects that each Councilor wanted in his/her district so Council stretched the money out by building sidewalks along high traffic roads but didn't build curbs (which would at least alert drivers that were drifting out of the lanes) because it would have cost more money and meant less sidewalks. That and the cost of having to put storm sewer openings along the curbd to take care of excess rain water. The rub is that there are many other places similar sidewalks were installed that have worse possibilities of death for pedestrians.

That fight between 13 and 15 year old girls at Richards Jr High... I thought Richards was a IB magnet school. At 15, she is one grade behind her age group so why /how does a 15 year old get admitted there?
