Online headline: "George Zimmerman Denied Delay Of Trayvon Martin Trial" -- Why hasn't the DA dropped this case... after unedited tapes and photos have been released totally supporting Zimmerman, it's no doubt the DA's office was obviously pressured into filing any murder charges.

Now DUMBERats want to make legal gun owners buy specific liability insurance for them. Most gun owners already have insurance through their homeowners insurance. On the other hand, how many people who illegally possess/use a gun would buy liability insurance? The same amount of those that could legally buy one.

---

Online story: "California parks employees told investigators last year it was common to hide money in their budget because they were afraid the state Department of Finance would otherwise cut their funding." -- Employees 'in the know' should be fired, even charged with misuse of public funds, and IRS should audit them to see if any were using that money for personal use.

Was downtown yesterday to have lunch with my bride. After great sandwiches at Brother's General Store, I walked over to the new bakery on 10th Street. Was shocked to see it already closed and the building up for sale.

---

Walked into the new "Den" yesterday, too. I knew the Rankin Quarter had closed rather than absorb the cost of updating, especially the bathrooms at the bottom of the steep stairs, to A.D.A. requirements. The front door wasn't A.D.A. nor was there any noticeable way for a handicapped customer to access the bathrooms at the bottom of the steep staircase. Guess the college is exempt from observing laws the private sector is required to meet.

Remember that story about Whitewater last weekend? Rick Bishop insinuated that the wave shaper was operating at the minimum GPS that the dam releases for routine water & electricity generation needs of the community. Went down to see it today at noonish, and there wasn't any water flowing in that part if the river and the wave shaper was above the water surface. Someone in the local media needs to question facts coming from the Committee to Pave the Chattahoochee.

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": "I support President Franklin Roosevelt’s Second Bill of Rights: Right to a productive job, quality health care and a good education." --- Hmmm, another of those low-info voters as well. Pssst... hey you, you already have the right to "a productive job, quality health care and a good education." , all you have to do is apply your self towards those and earn'em!

---

L-E story: "Representatives from the Georgia Department of Transportation delivered a check to the Columbus Consolidated Government for $1.38 million Wednesday as the city's share of state motor fuel tax proceeds. * The funds, administered through the state's Local Maintenance and Improvements Grant program, will go toward three road projects on the north and east ends of town: The approximately 2.4 miles of Upatoi Lane between its two intersections with Macon Road/U.S. 80 -- $768,000." -- Whoa! Granted there are two more projects other than this that are worthy, but Macon Road and U.S. 80 are one and the same. Upatoi Lane is simply a parallel business access road which would only increase truck traffic for the few personal residences on it.

---

Another lying liberal L-E "soundoff": "I have hunted often and love target shooting. But a serious gun enthusiast being totally against any regulation no matter the cost is like a serious car enthusiast defending reckless driving and cheap, dangerous cars." -- This person is no hunter/skeet shooter (unless pot-US Obluster has sent this in) so the analogy is warped. We'll never get reckless drivers or cheap, dangerous cars out of society either. Heck, criminals of DUI/Suspended License cases get to keep their cars whether it's legal for them to drive during their sentence time, and those are in much more dangerous hands.

---

L-E story: "IRVING, Texas — The Boy Scouts of America decided Wednesday to put off a decision on whether to lift a national ban of gay members and leaders, saying the issue of sexual orientation was too complex and needed more time for study." -- What BS! The board was inundated with calls/letters/e-mails supporting the beliefs that Scouts have upheld for 103 years, and the board was planning on weakening those beliefs. If a board member is wavering, he should be resigning.

---

L-E story: "FAIRFIELD, Conn. — John and Ann Betar weren’t supposed to get married. Her father had arranged for her to wed another man, but she and John fled Bridgeport and eloped in New York. * That was more than 80 years ago." -- Wow! 80 years... the only thing missing here is Paul Harvey's voice denoting such an honor. We miss yoo Paul!

---

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — President Obama on Wednesday nominated Sally Jewell, a former oil engineer and banker, and current chief executive at a national outdoor retailer, to lead the Interior Department * The president and CEO for Recreational Equipment Inc., Jewell has no government and little public policy experience, and she’s spent her career far from Washington" -- pot-US Obluster's plans are taking shape... With Kerry already in place, and Hagel hoisted high, pot-US now has another inexperienced foil in play keep from having to open up new drilling/pipelines.

---

Hey, how come the MainStream Media isn't blaming pot-US Obluster for using an Executive Order to shut down the Super Bowl lighting? The last time a disaster hit New Orleans, the MSM blamed POTUS Bush43 for ordering Katrina to hit there.

---

From L-E -editorial: "Georgia Trend magazine isn’t the first place the word “renaissance” has been applied to Columbus. It’s a word that comes readily to mind for anybody who’s watched the evolution of this city over the last 20-plus years * The article mentions some of the most prominent and familiar attractions: the new urban whitewater course and the RiverWalk (what local leaders call “paddle to pedal” appeal); the cultural and historic draw of the Columbus Museum, the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center and the Rainey and McCullers homes; the global business anchors of TSYS, Aflac and Synovus." -- How did the Rainey & McCullers homes on this list, but the Civil War Museum and other important sites got no mention?

---

L-E story: " Know what’s divine? * Spelling the spelling bee winner’s name incorrectly . * Seems it has been a problem at the Muscogee County School District’s spelling bee. * This year’s winner, Pooja Prabakaran, won the honor Wednesday. Unfortunately her last name was misspelled on the program and her name tag. * What’s a spelling bee without some errors?" -- How pitiful...but at the same time demonstrates the lack of personal interest in students versus federal directives.

---

Congrats to all the honorees nominated for Teacher of the Year! Glad to claim some are personal friends of mine and well deserve this honor. I'm sure I can say the same about those I haven't met yet. PS: Hope the MCSD nor the L-E misspelled any of their names.

---

L-E story: "LOS ANGELES — “The Ricki Lake Show” is a casualty of the daytime talker surplus. * Twentieth Television, the show’s distributor, will not renew the syndicated gabfest for the 2013-14 season" -- Just goes to show that just because one is a Hollywood star/cause that you don't have anything to say/add that most people want to hear. Hey, MSM, take a hint the next time you cover an Sen. Al Franken story or a wannabe-Sen. Ashley Judd announcement.

That Reuben Foster fellow... the AU tattooed one that signed with Alabama instead... me thinks some one should really watch who pays for that 'tat' removal.
