Online story: "Raul Castro said, "I was not chosen to be president to
restore capitalism to Cuba. I was elected to defend, maintain and continue to
perfect socialism, not destroy it." -- Hmmm, "to perfect socialism"? Let's see,
Cuba's GDP per person is less than $10,000.00. On the other hand, the USA's GDP
per person is almost $50,000, and that includes 1-in-6 persons on food stamps
that would qualify as wealthy in Cuba. That's perfection, alright...

Online headline: "Afghan President Orders US Troops To Leave" -- Yeah,
right. Remember about 50 years ago when a disaster hit southeast Asia... and the
US Department of State announced we were sending 7 huge cargo ships of rice to
help? Well, Russia quickly sent in a small ship of rice in a few days ahead of
us, and told the people, that 'more is on the way'. Guess who the distraught
wanted to thank when the US shipment arrived?

Hmmm, "Django Unchained" got an Oscar for "Best Original Screenplay". Some
screen play.. looks like the writer stole the action from Chicago street
warfare, and the script from various rappers.
---
Chrisopher Waltz, playing Dr King Schultz, won an Oscar for Best Supporting
Actor for setting up lines like this in "Django Unchained":
"Dr. King Schultz: How do you like the bounty-hunting business?
Django: Kill white people and get paid for it? What's not to like?" -- Wow,
I can't wait to buy the DVD so I can gather my children and grandchildren in
front of then TV for a family night movie event. Of course, I could save $20
bucks or so by waitinhg until next month and watch it on the "ABC
Family" channel.

From the "another myth shot down" department - Online headline: "Police Name Prime Suspect In Vegas Strip Shooting" -- There's no truth in the saying, 'What's goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas".

As far as charging people $1.00 per hour to park downtown, how about doing
it only after 6:00 PM so the extra cost of policing will be paid for.

Very low-info liberal's L-E "soundoff": "Why are Republicans pushing the sequester to cut 1
million jobs and tank the economy again, rather than reduce defense spending and
close tax loopholes? " -- And to think I had to take time out of my day to get
to the polls to make sure I offset this lib's vote. No wonder conservative
voters get discouraged from wanting to go to the voting sites.
---
Another very low-info liberal L-E
"soundoff": "Middle-class taxes increased
because Republicans raised taxes to $450,000 a year, rather than $250,000 a year
as proposed by Obama. When the rich get additional tax cuts and loopholes, the
middle class pays more." -- I sure hope this is the same lib as above, because I
can only offset 1 lib per election!

story: "Fort Service Learning Magnet Academy
will host a Black History Month Celebration from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Thursday. The
event will honor African-American male role models who are prominent educators
in our community." -- Wouldn't highlighting role models of all races/genders be
a better standard to demonstrate to children of all races? This segregationist
attitude is a throwback to 50+ years ago.

L-E
story: "WASHINGTON — One of the key players in
a special Democratic congressional primary Tuesday in Chicago is from New York.
* That city’s mayor, Michael R.
Bloomberg, is using his vast wealth to challenge a candidate running on a gun
rights platform in the first election since the school shooting in New-town,
Conn. It’s part of his crusade to be a political counterweight to the
NationalRifle Association." --
Here is the perfect argument against people being allowed to donate to
candidates they cannot actually vote 'for (or against for that matter) in an
election.

L-E headline/story: "Savannah’s iconic bridge may swap Talmadge name for
one more generic * Savannah Mayor Edna Jackson
told the Savannah Morning News that she favors getting Talmadge’s name off the
bridge, which she always calls “the new bridge.” * “I’ve never referred to it as the Talmadge Bridge
because that’s an insult to the African-American community. I came up through
the civil rights era, and I know how we were referred to by Talmadge.” --
What's that old saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"? Well, until
people learn to 'get over' things, they'll never be able to 'move forward". As
far as Talmadge is concerned, I don't think many whites actually liked him, he
controlled by fear of what people thought he was capable of doing. Ttying to
eradicate his name actually revives his name.
