Online headline/story: "Senate Democrats To Offer Alternative To Sequester * The bill would cut the deficit by $120 billion over 10 years to help replace roughly 10 months' worth of sequestration cuts. Approximately $55 billion would come from revenue hikes and a slightly larger amount than that would come from spending cuts. The rest would be made up of interest savings. " -- Hmmm, $55 Billion in new taxes, and spending/interest cuts of $65 Billion over 10 years. That's not an alternative; it's a joke! The DUMBERats could save $6.5 Billion per year limiting Senators to coach vs 1st Class travel. Close, anyway.

Before you let any liberal source try to convince you pot-US Double-Obama won a mandate last November, here are some election facts to cite: pot-US Double Obama won 26 states and Romney won 24; pot-US Double-Obama won 207 Congressional Districts but Romney won 228 of them; (California actually split Congressional Districts 29-29), and if you took out the popular vote margins of CA & NY, Romney won the popular vote by 500,000+.

Online story: "Michael Mann, a climatologist who directs the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, compared a major storm like Nemo -- or Hurricane Irene or Superstorm Sandy, for that matter -- to a basketball slam-dunk with a lower net. * "If you take the basketball court and raise it a foot, you're going to see more slam-dunks," Mann said. "Not every dunk is due to raising the floor, but you'll start seeing them happen more often then they ought to." -- "If you take the basketball court and raise it a foot, you're going to see more slam-dunks"? Even liberals should see the problem is that government has no concept of the best way to solve a problem. Government thinks of raising the basketball court; private enterprise would simply lower the rim.

Online headline/story: "Spending Cuts Could Drive Pentagon To Reduce Forces, General Martin Dempsey Says * General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said about a third of the cuts would have to come from forces, with the remaining two-thirds taken from spending on modernization, compensation and readiness." -- al Qaida doesn't need a spy network... all it needs to do is read the Internet reports to see when and where to plan an attack.

Online story: "PHOENIX — (Joe Arpaio)The self-proclaimed "America's Toughest Sheriff" joined forces this weekend with action movie star Steven Seagal to train volunteer armed posse members to defend Phoenix-area schools against gunmen. * Arizona Democratic House Minority Leader Chad Campbell called the plan to use Seagal as an instructor "ludicrous." -- Hmmn, "ludicrous" he says.. Wikipedia says otherwise:

Steven Frederic Seagal (born April 10, 1952) is an American action film star, producer, writer, martial artist, guitarist and reserve deputy sheriff. A 7th-dan black belt in Aikido, Seagal began his adult life as an Aikido instructor in Japan. He became the first foreigner to operate an Aikido dojo in Japan. Maybe DUMBERat Campbell should challenge Steven Seagal to an exhibition match on the floor of the Arizona House.

Online headline: "Obama State Of The Union To Refocus On Economy"-- Excuse me? pot-US Double-Obama says he's going to "refocus" on economy? Maybe he means refocus on the "scale of economy" since his first efforts haven't destroyed America as fast as he wanted to do.

Online headline: "Storm Cripples Hundreds Of Cars On Expressway" -- Now we'll find that Double-Obama's ObamaCare has a solution for this. You have to buy health insurance for your car that pays for Government Motors to tow your "crippled" vehicle into on of its Service Bays regardless of what brand you have.

What is the .01% germ nothing seems to kill? Seems like all disinfectants can kill 99.99% of all germs, but I pay double for the product that can get rid of that pesky 00.01%.

Saw an ad for LOreal with some hair colorist who pronounced his name like (phonetically) Kristoffe Roban'. I Googled it and found it actually is Christophe Robin. From now on I will associate him with Winnie, the expensive hair poo.

The IRS is out spinning why there's such a lag this year in getting refunds back to their owners. The " fiscal cliff" delay is getting most of the blame, but tax refunds are based on last year's tax rules which have no connection to the new 2013 rules. What I think is the truth is that the Chinese have decided to impose the same new regulations mortgage companies' now demand from their loan applicants... show them proof of income before getting a new loan approved.

Well, according to Organizing for Action, there will be a State of the Union "Watch Party" this Tuesday at 7:45 at 4000 St Mary's Road. What's there to watch? My guess is DUMBERat spinmeisters will be on hand to explain what pot-US Double-Obama means when he says something opposite of what his voters remember.

L-E headline story: "In summer 2011, (a)17-year-old (high school student) ran a red light and caused a wreck that killed Staff Sgt. Jerome Owens. He tested positive for drugs and was indicted. Eighteen months later, his lawyers say police had no probable cause to investigate. They point to two court cases as precedent" -- How can a lawyer compare the cases of an under-18 minor and adults? GA state laws have specifics for minors that do not apply to adults, and the laws are there for a reason. a good reason. My heart and prayers go out to the student & his family for consequences are tough to deal with, but deal with it they must. They should be more thankful that the 17 year old is alive and will have a future, neither of which the victim or his surviving wife and children have.

Can any organization founded on the principle to "help foster racial harmony and social equality" 42 years ago be considered a success? No, because it would be focusing on a new stated mission if it was.

Just a random thought, but since kayakers can 'put in' almost anywhere along the Chattahoochee Concrete Pond, how safe will the whitewater course be under flood conditions?

Meritous L-E "soundoff": "We need universal background checks for voters. We need to know who we’re entrusting with our country." -- Amen!

Since it's February: Dr A. Seale Harris seems to stay under the scope of Black History, but Dr Harris discovered many of the intricacies of diabetes 90 plus years ago that are still the foundation of today;s diabetes research. Fortunately Dr Harris was elected to the Alabama Med Hall of Fame, but I've always been amazed at his being overlooked. BTW, Dr Harris's family is filled with successful people.

Here's a picture of young Dr Harris when he was a student:

The trouble with relying on Hollywood to be the guardian of history (even literature) is that Hollywood doesn't see the truth as being the best way to present history because without an alternative ending, people would already know it and not come see Hollywood's twisted version.

From L-E's City Manager's Agenda: "HIGH SPEED RAIL FEASIBILITY STUDY: It is requested that council authorize the negotiation of a contract with HNTB Corporation (Atlanta) for a High Speed Rail Feasibility Study in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the Federal Rail Administration. * The study will consist of eight main components designed to assess the feasibility of developing High Speed Rail along the Atlanta — Columbus corridor: Public Participation Program, Scenario Development, Service Demand and Revenue Estimation, Capital Cost Estimation, Operating and Maintenance Cost Estimation, Corridor, Network and System Connections Comparative Financial Analysis, Societal Impacts Estimation and System Planning, Development, Assessment and Implementation. " -- Arrggghhhh!!!!! Ain't nothing high speed about research unless ypu consider how fast Mayor Obamalinson can waste our money.

---

Another item on the City Manager's Agenda is the Veterans Parkway Streetscape Improvement Phase 111. Nowhere is there contemplation of putting in some sort of irrigation system to prevent drought conditions for killing of the trees and sod being used. One only has to look at the disaster of Phase 1 plantings to see the death count (25 this past season) of the trees planted along the road side to make the area look nice. Dead trees hardly make any area look inviting.

---

Another item on the CM's Agenda: "Travel Request for Councilor Bruce Huff to attend the 2013 ACCG Annual Meeting in Savannah, Ga., for an estimated cost of $1,603. " -- $1,603.00 for a 540 mile roundtrip by car meeting? How about a few details on other expenses than 25-30 (or less) gallons of gas.

Is it just me or does anyone else see that the more DUMBERats talk about man's effect on global warming, that God sends a message of snow & ice to remind them that He is still in charge. DUMBERats better be glad they aren't talking about global cooling, as God has already shown what fire & brimstone can do.

Online quote source: " People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society.” -- Vince Lombardi - Hmmm, no wonder pot-US Double-Obama would have to think about letting his non-existent son play football.
