Online headline/story: "Ramzi Yousef, 1993 World Trade Center Bombing Culprit, Sues To Get Out Of Solitary Confinement * The terrorist, serving a sentence of life plus 240 years for the explosion that killed six and injured more than 1,000, is suing to be released from solitary confinement, the Los Angeles Times reported. * Confining him to a 7-by-11-foot cell for nearly 24 hours a day for the past 15 years, despite a record of good behavior, is unconstitutional, according to documents he submitted in federal court." -- A 7x11 foot cell is too good for him as it is; how about a 9x11x01 foot cell instead!

You would think the MCSD board would have gotten the message to get back to a truly traditional school year calendar, but n-o-o-o-o-o-o-o, it still wants to start school in the hottest period of summer when GA Power is its most greedy & needy time. What is wrong with starting schools after Labor Day?

---

WRBL3 news story: "Families from Beijing, China are in town visiting local schools in hopes that their children will one day be students here. * It’s all part of a student exchange program designed to provide top-quality education to Chinese students." -- "exchange program...to provide top-quality education to Chinese students"? Ooops, my bad. Thought for a minute they were going to attend a MCSD school.

Pistorius... I can't remember the last time I heard of someone unknown to me breaking into my house and running to the bathroom and locking him/herself in it. If that were to happen, though, I do believe I could keep him/her contained until police arrived.

Online headline/story: "Newtown Shooter Wanted To Top Breivik Death Toll, According To CBS Report * The man who shot dead 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school wanted to kill more people than the 77 slain by a Norwegian man in a 2011 rampage, CBS News reported on Monday, citing unnamed law enforcement sources. * "There is no basis to the CBS story. We have not established a motive. It's inaccurate," Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance said in a statement read on CNN." -- Has CBS decided to follow CNN by competing for the Entertainment Tonight and TMZ audience? Was Dan Rather seen near the mike?

So Tiger played 18 holes with pot-US 00-Bama, but 00-Bama played another 9 holes without Tiger. Hmmm, Tiger must have run home to check out the new rules of golf wagering pot-US 00-Bama issued by Executive Order.

McClatchy Online commentary:

No one for Black History Month should view kindly the economic degradation that African-Americans still face. * President Barack Obama didn’t touch the subject in his State of the Union address. But a new study shows equality is still a dream 50 years after Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous March on Washington speech." -- And a new study 50 years from now will show the same UNLESS black leaders decide to unhitch their future from the DUMBERat Party and the federal government teat.

A $10K Rolex wasn't good enough for Jesse Jackson, III, so.. he bought one for $43K. Wonder if he even knew the difference?

---

Online story: "Students at University of Missouri don’t need to cram for exams that fall on Wiccan and Pagan holidays, now that the school has put them on par with Christmas, Thanksgiving and Hanukah." -- Hmmm, while Easter was not mentioned, nor Ramadan, give Mizzou students a semester or two, and every fringe religious holiday will be on the calendar, and new fringe religions will be created to take care of any days not previously designated a religious holiday. No tests! What a recruiting tool! How soon will all SEC schools follow to compete in recruiting football players?

---

Online story: "As stranded Carnival Cruise passengers began finally disembarking in Mobile, Alabama, late Thursday evening, MSNBC had NBC News correspondent Mark Potter on the scene to speak with them. * One young lady during her over three minute interview tried to cite a Bible verse that helped her get through the ordeal, but Potter pulled his microphone away and quickly ended the discussion" -- Hmmm, a reporter who's company's existence is protected by the freedom of speech wouldn't allow such to an individual.....guess NBC has changed its acronym to "No Bible Citing".

Makers Mark just blew the perfect defense for cutting the alcohol (thus cost) in its product. It could have used the patriotic defense on sacrificing some of its use of corn so bourbon drinkers wouldn't have to suffer high gas costs.

---

If someone is going to carry the ball to get the mainstream media to pay any attention to the Benghazi scandal/coverup then someone other than Senators McCain and Graham needs to do it.

---

How many times have you and your spouse taken separate vacations when you had children? How many times did you do that after you had just made a speech concerning being a good father/family man?

---

Online story: " At a hearing of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee in July, Lumbee Tribal Chairman Paul Brooks said Congress’ refusal to grant federal recognition makes the tribe ineligible for all federal benefits given to other Indians. Lumbees have fought in every U.S. conflict since the Revolutionary War, he said, adding that the Constitution includes “no delineation or classification” of tribes and that all of them should be treated equally. * “Our elders are dying waiting for health benefits and our children struggle to become educated while waiting for benefits available to other tribes by federal statutes,” Brooks said." -- "elders are dying waiting", "children struggle.... while waiting for benefits"---- what a condemnation of the government's entitlement programs... period! We have too many people so trained to wait for government hand-outs that they have either forgotten how to do things or never learned how to do things for themselves.

L-E headline: "McClatchy wins a Polk award for its coverage of Syria" -- Hmmm, wouldn't it have been more important, more prestigious, and more pertinent if McClatchy won an award for uncovering DUMBERat vote fraud in the states that don't have required photo IDs?
---
Low-info liberal's L-E "soundoff": "The Republican PR manual lists any legislation helping the rich as capitalism, and any legislation for the middle class as socialism." -- Since when is being on the government assistance considered middle-class, and since when is being proud to be on government assistance become acceptable? Government programs were intended to be a 'hand-up', not hand-outs.
---
Another low-info liberal's L-E "soundoff": "When over 60 percent of corporations don’t pay income taxes, yet the GOP message is “no revenue,” the best way to sell air time is to drink water." -- Aside from no corporation should even be taxed, what in the hell does this lib see when even feeling 60% of corporations don't pay taxes? If, as suggested by this low-info voter, 60% of corporations do not pay taxes, then this economy and job market are even worse than previously thought.

Dang... Singer Smokey Robinson is 73 today... I thought he was old when I was younger.
