Before any more discussion about immigration reform be started, Mexico's policies involving American citizens should the first issue addressed and corrected. Secondly, Mexico should have to round up and return every weapon associated with Pric Holder's "fast&furious" program, and every weapon recipient should be incarcerated in Mexican jails.

I tell you what, before another politician blasts his/her opinion on what a minimum wage should be, said politician should be required to take a business plan used by an existing business and plug in the new wage numbers to existing and future employees, and demonstrate that the said politician can make the existing business to remain profitable with the new wage levels.
---
O-VAmaCare.... Let's get the media and politicians out of the "solution" business. Vouchers to civilian facilities for war-related treatments are not going to work. Civilian hospitals and their staffs are not equipped to handle the unique battlefield caused conditions nor necessarily even be able to identify such. Let's keep cool heads, and focus on restructuring the treatment timelines. Perhaps all VA facilities should have triage qualified personnel in the reception areas to determine and prioritize the urgency of each Veterans medical needs at the time.

Online story: "Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki resigned Friday in a personal meeting with President Barack Obama, shortly after publicly apologizing for deep problems plaguing the agency's health care system that Obama called "totally unacceptable." * Obama said he accepted the retired four-star general's resignation "with considerable regret" during an Oval Office meeting." -- Yep... "with considerable regret".. mainly because one of his appointees is no longer under his thumb ..
---
Not only did Judas 00-Barnum have to axe Shinseki, but Jay Carney is gone as well. Hmmm, but can we believe the White House Press Agent who told us Carney is gone.
---
I'm surprised that Judas 00-Barnum let Jay Carney leave without having him give one more Press Conference. 00-Barnum could come clean via Carney, but since no one would believe Carney was telling the truth, then no one would believe 00-Barnum knew anything.
---
I'm curious... how could Jay Carney announce his resignation and anybody believe him. That's one book soon to hit the market that I'll not bother reading.

---
Did you see the relief on Jay Carney's face knowing he can wake up in the morning and his wife may believe him when he says he loves her and their children.
---
Judas 00-Barnum "jokingly" said "the flak jacket is officially passed to a new generation,Mr. Josh Earnest". You know, if 00-Barnum's spokespersons actually spoke the truth, they wouldn't need a "flak jacket". Of course, they would be long on the job, either.

HuffPost headline: "Pelosi Will Hit The Road To Rally Single Women Voters" -- Huh? What pray tell, does she think she has that appeals to single women? On the other hand, whenever she does hit the road out of Washington, America's working people will have something to rally behind.
---
HuffPost headline: "Hillary Clinton Refuses To Take Part In 'Political Slugfest' Over Benghazi: Report" --Well, at least she's consistent with her actually reaction when it happened.
---
I finally figured out what she meant when she said, "What difference does it make?" She realized at that time, that as long as she dodged responsibility, come November 2016, Democrats are going to vote for her anyway.
---
Online story: "Chili’s and Sonic became the latest national chains to wade into the gun debate on Friday, announcing in apparently coordinated statements that firearms are no longer welcome in their restaurants." -- Hmmm.. Wouldn't restaurants be better off just saying that you are welcome to dine with your gun if you show a valid carry permit at the door?
---
Instant replay: "Chili’s and Sonic became the latest national chains to wade into the gun debate on Friday, announcing in apparently coordinated statements that firearms are no longer welcome in their restaurants." -- While Chili's edict is asinine, Sonic's is actually pretty stupid. Sonic is a drive-in, order-from-your-car business, and carry permits for legal guns owned by non-felons are not even necessary. Good luck with enforcing this one. Me? Just wrote off two more choices to spend money.
---
Online headline: "Banned Clippers owner Donald Sterling to sue NBA for $1 billion in damages" -- You know, Sterling has a valid shot at getting that amount (or more) based on the inconsistencies the NBA has demonstrated in meting out selective penalties. Question: "Do I like Sterling.. no, but I do like his chances.
---
If the NFL and the Players Union want to cut down on concussions, new helmets are not the answer. How about eliminating helmets and watch head butts & spearing disappear.
---
Blob Beckel avowed that he was no longer going to talk about Benghazi. To him, Hillary's new book is the last word on the subject. I disagree, but there sure will be more civil talk about it with Blob Beckel out of the conversation.
---
Now political correctness has gone to far...way to far. Two teens of India ancestry were referred to as Indian-Americans. How confusing to those of us who still have to think about who Native-Americans are.. We'll just have to start referring to our selves as Conservative-Americans. On a local level, I think we need to refer to ourselves as Georgia-Americans as not to be confused with those Alabama-Americans.
---
Why do liberals have more concern, more passion for animals than try do for their fellow man? Liberals will get in your face for enslaving animals in confined environments, and for altering their natural instincts for acquiring food, but campaign and rejoice in public housing and entitlement food programs for people.
---
Online story: "Georgia gun owners can’t take their weapons onto the grounds of public schools or public college campuses when two new laws take effect July 1, Attorney General Sam Olens said Thursday. * A day after gun rights group Georgia Carry publicly said one of two new weapons laws allows people with permits to carry weapons in school zones, Olens released a three-page document that rejected the idea. Locally, school superintendents are applauding Olens’ decision." -- Well, what did you expect? If you were a school superintendent of a failing public school system, would you want parents armed when they ask you what you are going to do to get better scores?
---
Hmmm, Steve Ballmer, former Microsoft CEO has bought the LA Crippers.....How convenient for the Cripper players.. now when they crash in the 4th quarter, they can blame it on the owner's software.
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — A White House report on its energy policy Thursday stressed good news but omitted any discussion of controversial issues such as lifting a ban on oil exports, the long-delayed Keystone pipeline or growing concern about crude oil in railroad tank cars" -- Hmmm, so if he closes his eyes, Judas 00-Barnum thinks no one else can see it either?
---
There's a report out showing a drop in ratings for Fox News Channel. I know I've cut back on watching because of Fox's increase in the amount of dedicated White House spinmeisters allowed into discussions. Alan Colmes, Blob Beckel, Jehmu Greene et al do not bring insight or another viewpoint into the mix. They are there to keep discussions disrupted.
---
L-E headline: "REPORT: CLINTON DEFENDS RESPONSE TO BENGHAZI" -- Good grief... and Nixon claimed he wasn't "a crook".. What difference does it make?
---
L-E story: "SAN FRANCISCO — Medicare can no longer automatically deny coverage requests for sex reassignment surgeries, a federal board ruled Friday in a groundbreaking decision that recognizes the procedures are medically necessary for some people who don't identify with their biological sex." -- Good grief.. does that mean any female without satisfying breast measurements can get a "boob job" because without one, she doesn't feel she can identify with other biological women? Wait a minute... why would Medicare be doing any kind of "sex reassignment" surgeries for 65 and over people?
---
I'm curious... Once a chemical death sentence has been decreed, and a death sentence date has been set, what concern is it of the convicted, his.\/her family or his/her attorney what's in the drug cocktail mixture? Are they afraid the convict might be allergic to something and die. That's the purpose. I still don't know why prisons don't just use cyanide capsules and stop worrying about having to find a good vein to inject stuff.
---
According to the L-E, there was a "grill off" on Broadway in which donations "benefitted St. Francis Hospital Trinity Center for Women. The center works to reduce infant mortality and low birth rate among low-income mothers." Excuse me but isn't this some sort of mixed message? Reducing infant mortality rates is a humane and worthy project, but wouldn't reducing birthrates to low-income mothers be something to work for? All children are gifts from God, but educating people to wait for a stable relationship before getting pregnant would definitely help both causes listed here.
---
L-E story: "The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that overhead wires that provide electricity to the cars are being turned on and will remain energized as tests proceed over the next few weeks. * Officials are warning the public to use caution around the system’s wires and poles, which carry a potentially deadly 750-volt current. * Atlanta Streetcar spokeswoman Sharon Gavin says the power system poses no danger to the average person on the street, but utility workers and movie crews will need to be wary if they use lifts or elevated equipment to do any sort of work." -- Say, didn't Cities rejoice when such street cars (other than San Francisco) rejoice were removed last century? Just the current proliferation of overhead wires (phone/electric/cable) are an eyesore as well as a hindrance during ice and wind storms, so why would Atlanta want more wires in the air? Surely, if some sort of electric street cars could be an improvement, engineers could design some sort of battery run vehicles that recharged via buried cables which are not susceptible to nature's intervention. PS, will somebody go steal the newspaper out of Mayor Obamalinson's front yard before she reads about this?
---
L-E headline/story: "Zuckerberg, wife gift $120M to Calif. schools * The gift comes at a time when critics are still questioning what became of Zuckerberg’s $100 million donation to Newark, New Jersey’s public school system. Four years ago, he announced the donation flanked by then-mayor Cory Booker and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie * While well-intentioned, the money has so far failed to fix the city’s ailing school system. The process lacked meaningful community input and much of the money has been spent on high-paid contractors and consultants. Four years later, the money is nearly gone and a lot of people are angry. The story’s most poignant quote is from Vivian Cox Fraser, president of the Urban League of Essex County, who said “Everybody’s getting paid, but Raheem still can’t read" -- "Raheem still can't read"? Why would liberals/mainstream media think.. er.. "feel" there would be "good results" when it was a given that the gift had "good intentions", and that qualifies as a "success" in liberalese? All in all, I do love iot when libs eat their own. This does go hand-in-hand with the Google announcement yesterday that it was going to work on its "diversity" issue by resorting to "style over substance".
---
L-E story: "“A Devil’s Daily Devotional,” sounds wicked, but the book is certainly not that. * The 17-year-old author Alex Jones has just finished four years as a Columbus High School Blue Devil and said he wrote the nonfiction book to help himself and readers grow in a spiritual relationship with God. * Alex said the book is a reminder that God can do whatever He wants through whomever He wants." -- Hmmm... you don't suppose that the MCSD is gonna jump in and claim any profits since Alex was attending public school when he wrote it, and the MCSD doesn't allow God to do also?

Online story: "President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had lunch at the White House on Thursday, but their meal may have remained a secret if it hadn't been for People Magazine tweeting about it." -- Hmmm, first.. nothing could be that "secret" if a People's Mag has access, but what was discussed.. obvious first thoughts tend to be about Benghazi... guess Judas 00-Barnum and Hillary were comparing "nots" to make sure they are "BeingHazy".
---
HuffPost: "U.S. Economy Shrinks For The First Time In 3 Years" -- "first time in 3 years"? Good grief.. mainstream media tries to make every catastrophe of Judas 00-Barnum's presidency seem like it's a normal cycle that we should be use to by now. Do you ever reckon mainstream media will look back one day and see what fools it has made of itself?
---
HuffPost headline/story: "Heirs To Inherit $36 Trillion For Doing Nothing * A study from the Boston College Center on Wealth and Philanthropy projects that $59 trillion is expected to be passed down to heirs, charities and taxes between 2007 and 2061. * The study said heirs will receive $36 trillion over that period, while federal estate taxes will receive $5.6 trillion" -- "federal estate taxes will receive $5.6 TRILLION dollars... now that's the true entity that inherits for actually doing nothing!
---
Online headline: "BADLY MISMANAGED' Oregon to sue over failed ObamaCare exchange site" -- Hmmm, can we sue Oregon for sending Representatives to Washington who voted "FOR" OObamaCRAP to begin with?
---
Online story: "The steady drip of Detroit's financial woes is turning into a gusher as the city braces to lose one of its most reliable sources of revenue: contracts with surrounding communities for the city's water supply. * For years, Detroit’s water system played the middle man in getting water from Lake Huron to neighboring communities. But the city’s aging water system is of enough concern that the city of Flint has joined with Genesee County and others to build a $300 million pipeline parallel to an existing one to get water directly from the lake, cutting out the Motor City." -- Is this no surprise? Sad thing is that Detroit's water infrastructure is probably in better shape than Atlanta's..
---
Online headline: "Washington mom outraged over 'pay to potty' policy in classroom" -- And "mom" should be.. after all, it was the school that has filled her daughter up with crap.
---
Online story: "- He may have had a twisted spine, but England's King Richard III was no hunchback, according to a new analysis of the medieval king's skeleton. * After the bones of the 15th-century king were discovered under a parking lot in central England in 2012, scientists scanned the remains of Richard III's back and created replicas of each bone to reconstruct his spine. The researchers said while Richard III had a severe case of scoliosis, he was far from the limping "hunchbacked toad" with a withered arm depicted in William Shakespeare's play." -- OK.. then mainstream media needs to be maligned for creating a solid spine for Judas 00-Barnum whom we know has none.
---
L-E story: "Britain's Office of National Statistics said prostitution and the import, manufacture and consumption of illegal drugs will be counted when making the government's quarterly calculations of gross domestic product. * The statistics agency said Friday some of these activities are legal in certain European Union countries, and comparable figures are needed. All member states need the same standard because they are used to assess a member state's contribution to the EU budget" -- Good grief.. Great Britain can put a value figure on its unknown, unreported revenue streams, but our Mayor Obamalinson doesn't have a clue to the value of our property tax data base..
---
Online quote source: "“Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” - Henri Frederic Amiel" -- Hmmm... thankfulness and gratitude.... neither of which is ever demonstrated by the recipients of our entitlement class ... in fact, the entitlement class emulates the effect of what we see when bears, natural examples of independence and pride, become dependent and demeaned by people feeding them.. and when the next person along doesn't feed them, violence occurs.
---
Hmmm..even Senator Al Franken has joined the growing crowd of Democrats calling for Shinseki's firing as head of 0-VAmaCare. Sounds good to me as well, but then, again, I'd be happier if Democrats would ask for Franken plus Reid to resign.
---
Good grief...Speaker Boehner was defending Shinseki on the basis that firing him wouldn't fix the O-VAmaCare problem. Technically, Boehner is right, but more realistically is that the problem will not get fixed if he stays in his job.
---
L-E story: "In a groundbreaking disclosure, Google revealed Wednesday how very white and male its workforce is — just 2 percent of its Google employees are black, 3 percent are Hispanic, and 30 percent are women. About a third of the company's workforce is Asian * the search giant said the transparency about its workforce is an important step toward change. * "Simply put, Google is not where we want to be when it comes to diversity," Google Inc. senior vice president Laszlo Bock wrote in a blog." -- Quick! Sell your stock! Google just announced it was going to concentrate on "style over substance"!
---
Online headline: "Can the President save his reputation?" -- Save what? Frankly, not only has Judas 00-Barnum lived up to his reputation, but far exceeded his capabilities.. Unfortunately, none of his abilities are what we need.
---
Online headline/story: "A Wantagh,New York high school is the latest around the nation to ban backpacks out of fear of bomb threats, and has even taken extra steps including sealing up students' lockers." -- Good grief...what's next..screenings before going to the bathrooms.. OOOOPS, that's already in effect.
---
Donald Trump offered Judas 00-Barnum $5 Million a while back to give him the records of his birth and college records.. 00-Barnum... he don't say nothing.. Recently Trump raised his offer to $50 Million to be spread out to 00-Barnum's choice of charities... 00-Barnum .. he don't say nothing.. Hey, Trump.. offer it all directly to Columbia University to fund several "tenured chairs" in the arts and sociology departments in exchange for those records, and Columbia might just not be able to stand turning its back on $50 Million.
---
You know.. the Department of Education might want to look into Columbia's files to see Judas 00-Barnum's applications as well. Were loans, grants, and scholarships fraudulently applied for?
---------------------
$250K for a RiverWalk toilet. Wouldn't it be cheaper...and safer...to put a port-a-let or two there and have an armed guard on duty from dark to say, 8:00/9:00 PM , and have security cameras run til midnight then shut the RivrrWalk down until the next morning?
---
More detail has come to light about why Mayor Obamalinson's "Royal Flush Throne room" again didn't make it to a vote. Seems three Councilors weren't there for the vote. Guess they were smart enough to go to 'another facility' to conduct other business.
---
You know.. there are more questions that need to be asked AND answered about the DOT grant for the $244K RiverWalk toilet... My understanding of "grants" is that some City official has to submit an application, including specifications for such. Who drew up the grant application and specification?
---
Another question: Why wasn't a grant application simply filed with The Home Depot and Lowe's Foundations for a RiverWalk bathroom facility? There'd be no tax dollars involved, and no government earmarks involved. Sounds good doesn't it.. Hmmm, can you imagine the laughter at Home Depot and Lowe's if either received a grant application wanting $244K to build a single outdoor bathroom facility?
---
You know, Mayor Obamalinson's "Royal Flush Throne room" may never make it to a vote. 5 Councilors have suddenly remembered that they will be up for re-election in 2016, and a "yes" vote will be campaign fodder against them.
---
Forget the $199K "grant" from the state DOT for a RiverWalk toilet facility, we're still gonna spend $45K of local tax dollars that could be spent a lot better.

Online story: "Two entities have filed a legal objection to the joint proposal of the City of Atlanta and Friendship Baptist Church to buy nearly 36 acres of Morris Brown property. * The African Methodist Episcopal Church, the major creditor of Morris Brown College’s debt, is objecting to the $14.6 million sale because it says it holds debt of $18.6 million. * The AME church also is objecting to the fact that the proposed sale does not specify how or when the “net proceeds will be distributed. * The second objection was filed by Clark Atlanta University, which has had a long-standing agreement with Morris Brown College on its “reversionary property rights.” * The property used to belong to Clark Atlanta. Its agreement with Morris Brown was that if the property were to no longer be used for the college, it would revert back to Clark Atlanta." -- C'mom guys.. can't we just all get along? And just think of the debt as a donation to UNCF...
---
L-E story: "The Historic Columbus Foundation has joined the fight to prevent the widening of U.S. 431 through historic downtown Eufaula, Ala. * A coalition working as Save North Eufaula Avenue has been fighting the Alabama Department of Transportation as it develops a proposal to change a roughly one-mile stretch just south of downtown into four lanes." -- South of downtown? .. I think he meant "north, but that's not the issue. I'm betting on my 106 year old Eufaula cousin, Fonnie Strang, still being too tough for the AL DOT to handle.
---
L-E "soundoff" that slipped by Dusty: " Life is not fair. Guys get sixpack abs and iron pecs, and us females get the Michelin man" -- Hmmm.. a subtle dig at dating trends for alternative lifestylers?
---
LIV's L-E soundoff": "Being “intelligent enough to make the right decision” is voting your conscience, which is guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. If you don’t like that, leave." -- Hmmm, but you have to intelligent enough to know there are different.. very different ..levels of intelligence.
---
Another LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The three leading causes of death are legal: tobacco, obesity and alcohol. Drug abuse is number 10, yet we’ve squandered a trillion dollars in the failed drug war" -- Hmm.. bet this guy hasn't considered where death by "drug abuse" would be without the "drug war".
---
And another LIV's L-E "soundoff": "This November when you go vote, remember that the Republicans are for corporations and the Democrats are for the middle class." -- The Democrats must have "duper-sized" the formula of their Kool-Aid.
---
L-E story: " Between May 2013 and May 2014, 113 students who were enrolled in free GED prep courses at Chattahoochee Valley Community College passed the GED examination" -- Well.. this about sums up the problems in education... now you have to go to college to get a high education.
---
L-E story: " Missouri’s attorney general says the state should establish its own laboratory to produce chemicals for use in executions rather than rely on an “uneasy cooperation” with medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies" -- Good grief.. why doesn't Missouri just show us why it refers to itself as the "Show Me State".. Show us some gumption, and just go back to bullets.. every box is marked by manufacturer so that would eliminate nuisance suits by attorneys wanting to know who made the drugs.
---
L-E headline/story: "SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATH * Columbus High ranked No. 2 in state for STEM education * The rankings for Muscogee County’s additional public high schools are: North-side 98, Hardaway 144, Shaw 310, Carver 314, Spencer 361, Jordan 372 and Kendrick 377. The county’s other public high school, Early College Academy of Columbus, isn’t listed in the rankings of 385 Georgia high schools * Muscogee County School District superintendent David Lewis said in an email, “I am obviously very pleased to learn that Columbus High was ranked second in the state for an award that focuses on STEM disciplines" -- Good grief.. there are 385 high schools, and the MCSD, a metro-area education vs rural system, has 5 of its 8 high schools ranked in the bottom quadrant of all the state's high schools. River City.. we have a problem.. and it's much bigger either the MCSD board or the L-E wants to delve into.
---
I usually don't mention much about Phenix City goings-on, but I must.. well, feel compelled, to infer that if the City Manager and Central football coach had been white, and three black council members voted to fire them, I doubt if the race card would have been the first reaction of the local media.
---
L-E headline: "FDA: New warning stickers coming to tanning beds" -- Oooops, my bad... thought the Truth in Advertising Law was going to require tanning beds carry a warning label that there is a discrimination tax of 10% on using them levied by Judas 00-Barnum

Thursday, May 29, 2014

Online headline: "U.S. Navy official says 'pings' unlikely from missing Malaysia jet" -- Poor CNN... 24/7 coverage.. endless 24/7 coverage ...of nothing.. business as usual. Wonder if its listener ha been told?
---
Judas 00-Barnum speechified to West Point graduates . He told them they would probably be the first West Point class since 9-11-01 not to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Of course, he didn't bring up Africa, Ukraine or Syria
---
Hmmm, A subject Judas 00-Barnum didn't mention was the West Point Cadets future with military healthcare.
---
If Judas 00-Barnum spoke like he did in last half of his West Point speech , he could have won the Republican nomination in 2008 & 2012.. Guess Karl Rove must have hacked into Judas 00-Barnum's TelePrompTer
---
One thing rather obvious in Judas 00-Barnum's speech is that when he paused for "applause" time, the cadets had to be prompted to respond at all.
---
From the "our education system is in worse trouble than we ever thought" department - Online story: "A demolition crew uncovered a secret underground room after they tore down a building in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. * The deed shows the demolished building went up between 1870-1880. * Theories abound about whether the room was used in the Underground Railroad, or during Prohibition. " -- Excuse me, but has Columbus' Reverend Richard Jessie been visiting Dauphin County, PA recently? He's been pot-stirring about prisoners doing garbage duty being slaves, and slaves building a 20th century school, so with his obsessive slave disorientation, I had to ask, because history tells us the Underground Railroad pretty much dissolved before the building in PA was ever built, and reporters have no clue!

HuffPost headline: "Brad Pitt Assaulted At Film Premiere" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought maybe some movie critic was filming a realistic reality show.
---
HuffPost headline: "Chicago Group Pushing For $15 Minimum Wage" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought the Cubs might be going on strike.
---
HuffPost headline: "California Voters Contemplate Forming New State" -- Hmmm... maybe the new "state" could be called "Reality", and the old one be renamed as the state of "Denial"....
---
HuffPost story: "Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday the United States is setting up a $5 billion "terrorism partnership fund" to help other countries push back against radical extremists." -- Good grief..and just who does Kerry plan to give this money...the leaders who will give most of it to the terrorists groups just to leave them in power?
---
Online headline: "Chicago mayor proposes all gun sales be videotaped" -- How, by street buyers using their stolen ObamaPhones? Good grief.. the gun problems are not caused by legal gun sales to law abiding citizens. At least I graciously assume Mayor Emanuel does consider some Chicagoans to be law abiding.. but..maybe not.
---
Future textbook compilers will really have to make specific decisions when trying to encapsulate the life of Hillary Clinton.. will they write down history or herstory?
---
L-E headline: "Chrysler, others join effort to bar discrimination" -- You know... I'd be happy if Chrysler, GM, too, would first work on barring recallable car defects!
---
You know..I'll bet Walmart's pension plan is fully funded.. no wonder union and education, and government entities hate being looked at closely.
---
Soapbox moment: Let's talk about "grants"... government "grants" in particular..Why... why do otherwise sane... logical people look at "government grants" and think it's "free money". Why do ordinarily prudent and successful citizens think that since "grant money" exists, if we don't take it, some body or some other city/state will take so why not? Other than what the US Treasury prints that's not backed, government does not have any money of its own. Those "grants" are already our money.. government just took it out of our pockets with no idea at the time on how it was going to spend it.. so government devised "earmarks" so government entities could claim it was them who are "good guys" because they give "grants" to whomever they want to do this for. Contact your state and federal reps and demand that all monies taken and redirected to earmarks/grants be immediately returned via tax reductions for those who actually paid taxes.
---
Once again... has anybody heard how the vote on Mayor Obamalinson's "grant driven", River Walk "royal throne room" went? Since the L-E hasn't mentioned it, my guess is that it passed.
---
You know,,, have you ever seen or heard of a "grant" from Congressman Bishop that he wasn't present for the photo-op session of the check presentation? It's like he dipped into his pocket, rather than ours, to make a donation.
---
From the "it doesn't get anymore ironic than this" department - Online story: "Jack in the Box fast food restaurants is among those that fail to see what’s happened elsewhere and decided to repeat the same mistake that others have made. * It all started several weeks ago with an open carry protest in Texas. A number of the protesters, still openly carrying their sidearms then went to a Jack in the Box restaurant to eat. Supposedly it frightened guests and employees who called the police, making a big deal out of nothing illegal. * As a result, Brian Luscomb, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Jack in the Box issued the following statement:“Creating a warm and inviting environment for all of our guests and employees is a top priority for Jack in the Box. The presence of guns inside a restaurant could create an uncomfortable situation for our guests and employees and lead to unintended consequences. While we respect the rights of all our guests, we would prefer that guests not bring their guns inside our restaurants.” * Within 10 days of their announcement, 3 Jack in the Box restaurants were held up at gunpoint." -- Well, Jack-in-the-Box is no longer worthy of my exposing my family to such dangers.
---
You know...there's a pattern to all of the appointed department heads that refuse to step down on their own volition, and at the same time, seem unwarrantedly supported by Judas 00-Barnum. It makes me wonder if there's something going on that may point directly to 00-Barnum as to knowing more than he's admitting. It's the same feeling I got when former Attorney General Janet Reno didn't automatically resign at the end of Bill Clinton's first term and await re-appointment.
---
I've always heard the term "evangelical right" and taken it with a grain of salt, but yesterday, I heard the term "evangelical left". That, at a minimum, is an oxymoron.. At best it would be the atheists.
---
You know..when Judas 00-Barnum starts filling his Presidential Library, he'll be able to fill it quickly and in less space than his predecessors . Since he never learned about anything except from the NY Times, there won't be carton after carton of documents and emails/memos preceding all the scandals.
---
Yesterday, I wrote our Council and asked this question: "How many residential homes/rental homes are in Columbus, and what is the total tax assessed value of such homes in Columbus?" This is the response I got directly from Mayor Obamalinson:
"Hal - According to our Tax Assessors Office, this is not information the city keeps. I special program would have to be written to obtain this type of information. You can make an Open Records Request if you would like a formal response to your inquiry." - Teresa Pike Tomlinson - Mayor ...
You know, literally, without this information available at a moments notice, how can Mayor Obamalinson even know how much tax revenue a single mil will bring in? How can a budget be made? How can Mayor Obamalinson even suggest how lifting the tax freeze would cure her money ills if she has no idea of what such an elimination would do? I would issue a sarcastic "thanks" to all the voters who returned her to office, but they would probably take it as a compliment.
---
From L-E's story on the City Budget proposal:
1 -"Public Works Director Pat Biegler asked for about $81,000 to hire an internal services manager for the recycling center. She also asked to eliminate the need to cut almost $124,000 from her operating by raising fees at animal control/special enforcement. The new hire was declined, but the fee hikes were added to the budget."
2 - District Attorney Julia Slater asked for $17,700 for operations, $41,000 for a juvenile court clerk and $74,200 for a new assistant district attorney. The operations request was denied, but the two positions were added to the budget.
3- Councilor Gary Allen proposed eliminating more than $64,000 in general fund revenue by removing proposed fee increases for youth league teams. The fees were not eliminated and remain in the budge
4- In the end, what started as a $263.1 million budget grew to $263.7 million, an increase of about $615,000. But $484,000 of that was offset by additional revenue, reducing the impact to the reserves to about $131,000.
5 - • Increasing fees at the city’s tennis and golf facilities and at other parks and recreation venues and the Civic Center. Parking violation fines would also increase, as would the garbage collection fee
Good grief... This is how government thinks? No wonder debt is out of control. When the Mayor Obamalinson thinks new fees and raised fees will increase based on previous user figures, it's obvious she's not in touch with how everyday people react to fee/tax increases... users will be down, therefore expected revenue increases will not happen. It's quite apparent that citizens have been overloaded with specialty and state sales taxes, so users haven't been spending as much and revenues have spiraled downward, which means lower revenues produce more debt when spending just keeps on happening.
---
Once again... has anybody heard how the vote on Mayor Obamalinson's River Walk "royal throne room" went? Since the L-E hasn't mentioned it, my guess is that it passed.
---
L-E headline: "COLUMBUS STATE UNIVERSITY * Mescon finalist for top job at Eastern Washington Univ." -- Everybody keep your fingers crossed! I will even go so far as to say, after this blurb, that I will not mention anything that may detract Mescon from consideration.. I may even send EWU a complimentary recommendation (backhanded, of course) encouraging its selection choice. Ask yourself when was the last time you heard him bragging about the CSU enrollment numbers he was so proud of in his first 3 years? On a good note, I will now consider restarting donations back to CSU when he's gone.

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Obama would not have used 9/11 as an excuse to start a 10-year, trillion dollar war with the wrong leader of the wrong country." -- "would not have used 9/11 as an excuse"? Bush used 9/11 as an "excuse"? Truth is, Judas 00-Barnum would have responded by drawing a red line in front of the right side of the House and Senate Chambers and dared terrorists to cross that line.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "In regard to the shootings in California, Republicans ask, “When are we going to cure mental illness?” Right after we cure cancer." -- Good grief.. if mental illness could be cured, we wouldn'y have Democratic Party politicians!

Online story: "A new political party is being built in the United States to turn Muslims in America into an Islamic voting block. They’ve set their sights on the 2016 elections. * Ten Muslim groups have banded together to form the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, a coalition that will “unify the approach, agenda and vision of the Muslim community” in America according to Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). * As reported by The Washington Post: "The council plans to advocate for issues important to American Muslims and to boost their voter registration. Awad said, 'Muslim Voters have the potential to be swing voters in 2016.' -- "swing voters"? You have to think that a voter group would actually consider a conservative candidate to feel such a group shold be in the "swing voters" category. This will just be another further left wing of the Democrats.

The State Bar of Georgia just finished its essay contest based on "American Democracy and the Rule of Law: Why Every Vote Matters,". Next year, I'd like to see the theme be either, "American Democracy and the Rule of Law: Why Voter ID Matters" or "American Democracy and the Rule of Law: Why Voters Knowledge of the US Constitution Matters".

Online headline: "Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Death Row Inmates Who Have Low IQs" -- In other words, the US Supreme Court just penalized everyone, prisoners or not, who don't have low IQ's. To me, an IQ test, like any other test, is only valid in determining the upper limits of a person's mental capability. If a smart person is capable to make a high score, he/she is also capable of making an intentionally low score.
---
Hmmm, the Supreme Court now says you can not be put to death based on your IQ numbers, but you can vote regardless...

---
Online story: "Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling responded to the NBA's attempt to oust him * According to the response, obtained and posted by USA Today, Sterling says V. Stiviano recorded him without his knowledge and thus the recording was illegal under California law. He also said he could not have "willfully" damaged the league because he did not know it would be made public. * "A jealous rant to a lover never intended to be published cannot offend the NBA rules," the response says. * Sterling also notes the disparity between his lifetime ban and $2.5 million fine and previous NBA punishments, including the $100,000 fine levied on Kobe Bryant when he was caught referring to a referee by a homosexual slur, and the 72-game suspension of Ron Artest for punching a fan." -- Hmmm.. the NBA... "Hmmm, sorta like "the Crone Deranger hoisted by the NBA's Silver bully"? Let the games begin.
---
From the "it's not one world" department - Online story: "LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) - A pregnant woman was stoned to death Tuesday by her own family outside a courthouse in the Pakistani city of Lahore for marrying the man she loved. * I killed my daughter as she had insulted all of our family by marrying a man without our consent, and I have no regret over it," Mujahid, the police investigator, quoted the father as saying." -- For a nation where courts and Congress are doing their best to deny Christianity, why are we fighting, and for what, in the Muslim world?
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama To Keep 9,800 Troops In Afghanistan After 2014" -- Hmm, wonder if any will be Christians...and why? Who knew being a Christian might be grounds for not serving in a Muslim country?
---
Online story: "WASHINGTON (AP) -- First lady Michelle Obama is striking back at House Republicans who are trying to weaken healthier school meal standards, saying any effort to roll back the guidelines is "unacceptable." -- Good grief... what a maniacal ego.. the FLOTUS is so focused on her image she will not, can not, see what's on her own plate.. She'd rather see children starve than eat
---
HuffPost headline: "Up To 200,000 Somali Children Could Die From Malnutrition" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought this was about another of Michelle's school food failures.
---
Online story: "LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Nevada rancher whose dispute with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management drew national attention is no longer a Republican. * Cliven Bundy has switched his affiliation to the Independent American Party." -- Hmmm, so this hero-to-zero went from fighting the Democratic Party to basically supporting it. What's he going to do.. vote for a splinter candidate or just not vote? Either way, he's supporting the Democratic Party which was what he was standing up against all along.
---
Did you see the "ceremonial first pitch" thrown by 50 Cent at the Mets' game? He almost clipped a cameraman standing in the 1st Base on-deck area.. on the first bounce..Judas 00-Barnum must have gotten to him, because what 50 Cent threw up would make Judas 00-Barnum look like a starter.

Online story: "Five rare white tiger cubs made their debut at the White Zoo in Kernhof, Austria over the weekend, ABC News reports. According The Guardian, the cuddly little Bengal cubs, born back on April 25, are believed to be Europe's first quintuplet of white tiger cubs. * The adorable litter is made up four females and one male, WPTV notes, adding that the girl cubs were all given rather typical names -- Lali, Lela, Lila, and Lulu. But it's the lone boy cub who was given the memorable moniker of 'Obama.' -- Hmm whatta misnomer.. Judas 00-Barnum is certainly not part tiger.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation Tuesday to raise the state's minimum wage by 25 percent gradually over the next four years to $9.25 an hour, as Republicans controlling the state government moved to head off a November ballot measure that could have raised pay even more." -- "head off a November ballot measure that could have raised pay"? -- Good grief.. why not give voters a ballot initiative asking them if they want to decide how much they want to pay for a GM car , or how much they want to pay for a McDonald's hamburger? Pretty soon, there could be a ballot initiative to eliminate the governor's office. Inmates are truly in control of the asylum.
---
Online story: "GENEVA, May 26 (Reuters) - Carbon dioxide levels throughout the northern hemisphere hit 400 parts per million (ppm) for the first time in human history in April, an ominous threshold for climate change, the World Meteorological Organization said on Monday. * The 400 ppm level in the atmosphere, up 40 percent since wide use of fossil fuels began with the Industrial Revolution," -- Excuse me, but with what documentation does the WMO base it's finding compared to the Industrial Revolution, which, I do believe is defined as " from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840"? Scientists can't even define the Industrial Revolution any closer than 20 years.

HuffPost headline: "White House Blows CIA Official's Cover" -- Hmmm, and why should the CIA be exempted from White House ineptness?
---
Hmmm.. anybody remember Valerie Plame? Seems Bush was vilified by the mainstream media for her being exposed as a CIA agent..
---
Online headline: "Newspaper praised for having the 'most accurate Kimye wedding coverage'" -- Good grief.. What do they call it it.. "the B*llSh*tzer Prize"?
---
Online quote source: "“Being forced to work, and forced to do your best, will breed in you temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle will never know.” - Charles Kingsley " -- How come no one alive and working in Education, Congress or the Entitlement program can come up with words of wisdom like these?
---
From a head's up from a fellow BCer: Recently, the American Girl Corporation announced it was cutting a number of stock dolls from it's basic inventory. They were very slow movers and the money saved will help American Girl stay open. Unfortunately, the models being eliminated are Asian and black based dolls. The "PC Police" are now yelling "racism". What BS.. American Girl reached out to all races and cultures, and some did not support American Girl's efforts. In addition, American Girl will still make custom dolls any way any customer wants (within manufacturing capabilities). This is a "worst case scenario of race baiters.. shout them down for their intolerances!

L-E story: "After weeks of negotiations, presentations and meetings, Columbus Council appears poised to approve Mayor Teresa Tomlinson’s proposed budget of about $24.8 million for the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office. * That’s about $2 million less than Sheriff John Darr had originally requested. But city Finance Director Pam Hodge told councilors she met with Darr last Thursday and Friday and found about $1 million in savings in his budget, lowering the gap between his proposal and the mayor’s to about $1 million." -- Here we go again.. a budget with controllable expense centers is one thing, but one that is controlled by federal mandates is another. How can Mayor Obamalinson want others to control the uncontrollable while she has a free rein at spending money on fluff projects? PS - Let Pam Hodge's budget make up for any errors in her miscalculations of the savings she said she found.
-----------------------------
Ironic or moronic....Mayor Obamalinson tried to cut back garbage collection to once a week saying it would save us about $250K annually, then shows us what she would do with such savings by wanting to build a $250K crapper on the RiverWalk.

Online headline/story: "Oprah Says That All White Racists Must Die To Fix America * Oprah Winfrey made some shocking comments in a recent interview with BBC, when she alluded that the only reason someone wouldn’t like President Barack Obama is if they were a racist. * “There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism,” Oprah said, “and they just have to die.” *That’s right, according to Oprah, when everyone who ever had a racist ancestor dies, America will be set free from all of its problems." -- Wish the reporter had asked her if she had ever had a hate thought thought about any white person... or if she thinks she's been denied achievement by any white person...Oh, and why didn't the reporter ask why she has accumulated so much personal wealth rather than distributing it to others... In my book, only a racist is so adamant about others being racist.
---
WTVM9 headline/story: "Feeding the Valley receives $83,000 contribution from Walmart * "Walmart is very excited to continue supporting Feeding the Valley and dedicated to helping the communities we serve," said Glen Wilkins, director of public affairs and government relations at Walmart. "The grant will help the organization reach its 10-year growth plan to more than double the number of people it feeds on an annual basis." -- "help the organization reach its 10-year growth plan to more than double the number of people it feeds on an annual basis"? Huh? Shouldn't the goal of any charitable organization.. in fact any charitable donation, be in anticipation of eliminating, not doubling, the problem?

Online story: "DETROIT (AP) — Removing blighted residential properties and small commercial structures that have plagued Detroit neighborhoods for decades would cost $850 million, with perhaps $1 billion more needed to tackle the bankrupt city's larger commercial and industrial property, a task force said Tuesday. * Nearly one in three structures need some form of "intervention," including demolition or rehabilitation, the task force said. About 150 people were hired to inventory all of the city's 380,000 real estate parcels last winter . * Overall, it found nearly 85,000 blighted parcels, of which 73,000 are residential structures. * The city also aims to strengthen ordinance enforcement, with a particular focus on absent owners, and require a $15,000 cash payment per structure from banks that transfer titles of properties for the intervention required to rehabilitate or remove structures. " -- First, valuing 85,000 blighted parcels for $1 Billion dollars would be an average value of about $11,800.00 each. Right off, we know $1 Billion is not going to do the job, especially in "Unionville, USA" and nobody is going to pay the $15,000.00 title transfer fees. You think the OObamaCRAP rollout was a fiasco.. get ready to bendover backwards into a pretzel.
--
Online story: " California lawmakers on Tuesday proposed expanded restraining orders and new law enforcement procedures to deter the type of violent rampages that left six young people dead over the weekend near the University of California, Santa Barbara. * Two Assembly members proposed legislation that would create a gun violence restraining order that could be sought from a judge by law enforcement at the request of family members and friends. * “When someone is in crisis, the people closest to them are often the first to spot the warning signs but almost nothing can now be done to get back their guns or prevent them from buying more,” said Democratic Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner of Berkeley, who sponsored the measure with Das Williams, D-Santa Barbara." -- Good grief.. first, no new law is being proposed abut knives being used to kill, but secondly, we, even California, have existing laws about mentally dysfunctional people owning guns.. sharp instruments such as knives as well, it's just that even a California law is not going to be honored by a dysfunctional;l person regardless of his/her mental state. Why is common sense not demonstrated, much less understood, by Democrats?
---
Why are the police being blamed for the shooter's actions out in California? It's standard police procedure not to arrest someone BEFORE they commit a crime. It's easy to point fingers, but you know it, too, that if the police had incarcerated that director's son, the director/father, and probably the ACLU, would have been all in police department's business.
---
Soapbox moment - Online story: "President Barack Obama’s administration has quietly suggested it is willing to create a two-tier race-based legal system in Hawaii, where one set of taxes, spending and law enforcement will govern one race, and the second set of laws will govern every other race." -- Good grief... it's apparent Judas 00-Barnum already enforcing multiple sets of laws and taxes on the rest of the country. Some states are exempt from marijuana enforcement, some states are exempt from voter intimidation control, some state aren't allowed to define marriages, some states can't control their borders, no state can ask for citizenship proof for taxpayer funded government services, white people pay an indoor tanning tax, black people cannot be charged with racism or "hate crimes", Christians cannot practice publicly what other religions are allowed, homosexuals can demonstrate in parades what straight people would get arrested for doing.. my question is, "Why is Judas 00-Barnum just now allowing such in Hawaii?
---
Online story: "FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Fort Lauderdale police believe hundreds of young people made their way to the beach for one reason this Memorial Day, to cause trouble. * Police said around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, hundreds of young people made their way to the beach for one reason this Memorial Day, to cause trouble. * Fort Lauderdale Police officials said a group of young people came to the beach to fight and when police quickly broke it up, they scattered through the streets." -- Hmmm, seems like CBS has left out a couple of pertinent facts in this story.. seems all the unruly young people were black, and that they used social media/twitter accounts to organize this riot. Maybe this is another of Judas 00-Batrnum's separate rules/laws for his two-tiered race-based system of government.
---
Just for the record 10 of 14 SEC teams are going to the NCAA baseball regionals. Auburn an UGA will be joined watching from afar by Mizzu and Tennessee as well.
---
Just thinking about that tidbit that the Coast Guard stopping $9.5 Million in drugs every day, and how much that is annually. Say, what if the Coast Guard did sell it back to the dealers/countries ? We could eliminate the National Debt in a few years, and pretty much fund most of our National Budget which would pretty much eliminate income and sales taxes which would be a terrific shot in the arm for our economy.
---
You know, if there is another gun law that doesn't already exist, it should be one that removes someone permanently off the street if they are caught with a gun, and an ID check reveals they have been previously incarcerated for any other felonious crime. Make apply to hunting as well as personal protection situations as well.
---
There have been three reports of atrocities committed to two 12 year olds (1 boy, 1 girl) and a 6 year old girl in Columbus recently. No names are mentioned. I know it's a sensitive issue when friends/family are involved, but it doesn't change what's happened to the children, but is society being helped by not reporting the perpetrators, even if just alleged?
---
More and more I hear the comment from reporters/analysts that they don't know who is in charge at the White House. I'm more concerned at who is RESPONSIBLE in the White House.
---
L-E headline: "Analysis: Endorsements not key in mayor's election, vote tallies show" -- Wait a minute.. when the endorsements go out on a flyer two nights before an election with bloc voting instructions, it really does matter.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "DIffERENT ERA At the time of the American Revolution, guns were a necessary way of life just to survive. However, they are not today. You’re comparing apples to steamships." -- Hmmm, wish this guy would make his argument at the next gang vs gang meeting, or with a robber who is trying to hijack his car containing his wife and children, or with a group trying to crash through the front door of his home.
---
L-E's " Thought for Today": “Time does not become sacred to us until we have lived it, until it has passed over us and taken with it a part of ourselves.” — John Burroughs, American author and naturalist (1837-1921)." -- Hmmm .. hope the LIV above who wrote the "soundoff" gets to " live" for a few moments with the barrel of an assailant's gun waving in his children's faces, before he/she writes anything else so stupid.
---
I'm just thinking.. How come the IOC awarded Rio de Janeiro the 2016 Summer Games? The summer months south of the equator are their winter months and August is equivalent to our February.
---
L-E editorial headline: "In PC, obvious questions merit straight answers" -- Well, for that matter, the L-E doesn't even ask the obvious questions they should to the Mayor or School District here in Columbus

Online story: "The CIA’s top officer in Kabul was exposed Saturday by the White House when his name was inadvertently included on a list provided to news organizations of senior U.S. officials participating in President Obama’s surprise visit with U.S. troops." -- Guess Judas 00-Barnum was trying to make a statement to Putin that he didn't need Edward Snowden to get American secrets, so extradite Snowden back.
---
Instant replay: "The CIA’s top officer in Kabul was exposed Saturday by the White House when his name was inadvertently included on a list provided to news organizations of senior U.S. officials participating in President Obama’s surprise visit with U.S. troops." -- Hmmm, now Judas 00-Barnum decides to be 'transparent'....
---
Another instant replay: "The CIA’s top officer in Kabul was exposed Saturday by the White House when his name was inadvertently included on a list provided to news organizations of senior U.S. officials participating in President Obama’s surprise visit with U.S. troops." -- Hmmm, how did Judas 00-Barnum even know... the NY TImes isn't even available for Afghanistan delivery
---
Online headline: "CNN: Dems Have Been Privately Uttering 'Scathing' Criticisms of President Obama For Some Time" -- Hmmm, too bad it was on CNN... not even liberals tune in to watch CNN to see what other liberals are feeling...
---
Well, Judas 00-Barnum did make an appearance at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Did have to wonder whether he was there trying to get voter registration info.
---
It was strange enough watching Judas 00-Barnum using the civilian salute during the National Anyem, but it was terrible to watch him use tat salute during "Taps" honoring the soldiers after laying the wreath. You know, since the president is the Commander in Chief of out entire military, shouldn't he use the military salute?
---
Judas OO-Barnum showing up at Arlington was bad enough, but under current circumstances, did Gen Shinseki really need to be openly there?
---
You know..while watching the service at Arlington National Cemetery, I wondered why it was necessary for there to be an announcer on the PA system to announce the arrival of Judas 00-Barnum. Where did 00-Barnum think he was, teeing off at Augusta?
---
Curiosity makes me wonder why Chuck Hagel had to introduce Judas 00-Barnum at the Memorial Day observances at Arlington National. If he simply held regular meeting with the military leaders, they would know him by sight.
---
You know..Judas 00-Barnum's speech writers put some good words upnonhis TelePrompTers yesterday. Too bad they don't do so when he's talking about the children's lives that have been ruined by government entitlement programs
---
What a wonderful prayer was offered following Judas 00-Barnum's speech. Wonder if next year he will have an atheist chaplain give the benediction but to whom would the chaplain offer praise?
---
HuffPost headline: "Why are mass killers so hard to predict?" -- Hmmm, probably because most have been coddled by liberalism to the point they feel they are victims and are not responsible for their actions? Hey.. this is a lot closer to a truism than what mainstream media will try to convince themselves otherwise.
---
Listening to the parents of those killed in the latest California shooting outburst was sad. Now, if we could just persuade them to vote for politicians and judges and DAs that will push hard for death sentences and the quick execution of those instead of Democrats.....
---
Online story: "Chocolate maker Cadbury Malaysia, a part of Mondelez International Inc , on Monday recalled two chocolate products after they tested positive for traces of pork DNA, the Nikkei Asian Review website reported." -- Hmmm, Cadbury might as well close shop. Now our liberal elite will focus on Cadbury being responsible for the actions of Muslim terrorism, and that the ones at Gitmo were not responsible for their actions.
---
HuffPost headline: "Calif. Mass Murder Suspect Convinced Cops He Was Not A Threat" -- Yeah... probably more like the police figured some judge would release the (_*_) anyway so why bother....
---
Online story: "Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries said because of a 77 percent drop in profits, the company will introduce a number of radical changes to win back teens. He said, "Abercrombie and Fitch is targeted to its customer, its customer is changing, and we're ready to change with her and him." -- Stop! the A&F CEO has found his problem and solution... like Judas 00-Barnum, he's leading from behind.. no store can survive if it doesn't lead its customers rather than wait for others to come up with new ideas to try to copy.
---
You know... the current A&F scavenged the name of the old A&F which lost its way as well.
---
Online story: "DAYTONA BEACH —€” In letters from jail, a central Florida man, a former member of the Latin Kings gang, accused of killing his wife and her two children writes cryptically about sending three boxes to Texas and asks his mother-in-law for pictures of the missing family." -- Good grief... why is this man still alive to harass his in-laws? The death penalty need new teeth... new focus... if its going to be effective in being a deterrent to future criminals and for easing overcrowding in jails.
---
Online quote source: " “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” _ Charles Dickens" -- Here's another bit of wisdom that shall never be repeated in a Democratic campaign speech or by an entitlement office employee.
---
Soapbox moment: "Building "fluff" rather than "tough" is how liberals destroy from within..look at Detroit, St Paul-Minnapolis, for that matter any large metro city... when the elitist are offered beautiful arenas and enteratinment facilitiesthat fulfill their personal interests at public expense, their eyes gloss over for seeing how it effects what's really important to society. Such extravagance has always brought down civilzations.. look at Rome, look at Egypt, look the Ottoman and Russian Empires. Government cannot build such if the users don't bear the weight of paying for the ongoing maintenance and expenses. Let's revist the Whitewater project. No taxes are collected, the "fee" for those using the retailers equipment will never generate revenue to get back "our investment", and the project would never have gotten past the original restoration plan if the retailer had to "build out" his "store". Now, do you think the Atlanta investor will ever feel guilt to reinvest in Columbus' infrastructure? Whitewater is nothing more than a liberal welfare project. Look at out Natatorium and bike trail. Neither will collect the expenses from the users that the users themselves generate. If you had a store, and didn't make a profit , you'd have to close., but not government when it can find another way to generate more revenue by taking it out of the pockets of even those who don't need/want to use such facilities.
---
L-E headline: "PUBLIC LOOKS FOR ANSWERS AFTER PHENIX CITY FIRINGS" -- Hmmm, wouldn't that be even sweeter if it said "Columbus Firings" or "DOJ Firings" or "VA Firings" or "IRS Firings", or School Administration Firings"?
---
L-E story: "The short stretch of County Line Road near Central Church Road remains closed due to a failed culvert running beneath it, but some drivers are apparently not respecting that status, according to city Pubic Works Director Pat Biegler. * Biegler said some drivers are apparently moving barricades aside to avoid taking the 10-mile detour. They’re doing it at great risk to themselves, she said. * “We closed the road for good reason,” Biegler said. “That road is going to collapse at some point, and we’re worried someone is going to get hurt.” -- Excuse me, but if the road is so vital, why isn't it the number 1 priority to have already have been repaired? Surely a "temporary bypass road" around the would be a better solution than sending people an extra 10 miles out of their way?
---
Naive L-E "soundoff": "When front page news is a story about gossip at the barber shop and a water problem behind a house, there is something wrong. There are newsworthy things happening outside the barber shop in Mayberry." -- Hey.. it's was election week, and the L-E didn't want to put crime news on the front page since Mayor Obamalinson says we don't have a crime problem..
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I agree — without guns there would be no United States. Why, every American should be allowed to have a gun. As long as it’s an exact replica of the guns that existed during the Revolution." -- OK.. then let's go back to the exact entitlement programs that existed during the Revolution as well..
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " The NRA is nothing but a front for laundering the billion-dollar gun and drug trafficking trade and for deregulating any criminal deterring legislation" -- Hmm... close, by liberal standards, but the writer was dyslexic and used the acronym "NRA" instead of "DOJ".
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " How do you know that our Founding Fathers began every meeting with a public Christian prayer? Are you a vampire?" -- Hmmm... let me see.. it was recorded and passed along by historians until the last 30 or so years when school systems kicked God out of the schools. Either that or the writer wasn't taught how to read to begin with.
---
L-E's " Thought for Today": “Sixty years ago I knew everything; now I know nothing; education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.” — Will Durant, American historian (1885-1981)." -- Hmm.. "progressive discovery of our own ignorance"? Maybe then, but now it's more like a "discovery of Progressive's ignorance"..
---
Wow! 10 SEC teams are invited to the NCAA Div 1 baseball tournament.. 10 out of 12! Here's the list.. on second thought, just naming UGA and Auburn as to only ones not going will save time and costs.

Monday, May 26, 2014

Interesting tidbit found along the way: In 1975, over 70% of our Congress Representatives/Senators were serving or had served in our military, At the beginning of the 113th Congress (January 2013), there were 108 Members (20% of the total membership) who had served or were serving in the military. I think it's obviously clear why our veterans' health needs are not getting the attention they deserve.
---
Online story: "President Obama made a rare and surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday for a Memorial Day weekend rally with U.S. troops." -- Hmmm, of course, your guess is as good as mine as to why.. did he want to be among his friends.. or our troops? Either that or to sneak in another round of golf.
---
Instant replay: "President Obama made a rare and surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday for a Memorial Day weekend rally with U.S. troops." -- Hmmm, guess this was one way to avoid going to Arlington National Cemetery where people would wonder whether he was there to pay homage to our soldiers or to inventory the plots to see if there was enough space to take care of the vets who haven't been taken care of by the VA.
---
Online story: "If you live in San Francisco, be on the lookout for some mysterious white envelopes -- they may contain $100 bills. * An anonymous person is going around the city, dropping off sums of money in a project called "Hidden Cash," and tweeting hints about the locations. * The anonymous donor told the Bold Italic that the cash deposits are a "social experiment," and said they're worried about staggering wealth inequality in the city. * “I’ve made millions of dollars the last few years, more than I ever imagined, and yet many friends of mine, and people who work for me, cannot afford to buy a modest home in the Bay Area,” the person said * After each money drop, a tweet goes out from @HiddenCash with hints about the location of the envelope. @HiddenCash also requests that the lucky recipients tweet photos of their discovery. " -- Sounds to me that this person is more of a "big twit" seeking attention than an "anonymous philanthropist", and it sounds like the "big twit" is will create a bigger problem by playing on the desperation of people's personal desperations.
---
Online headline: "UCSB Shooting Victim's Father Blames 'Craven' Politicians, NRA For Son's Death" -- Again, I was not going to invade the family young man, but this "D(_*_)D" is a liberal who immediately emulated the Judas 00-Barnum tactic of pointing "the finger of blame" at people who had nothing to do with his son's problems.
---
HuffPost headline: "Early Exit Polls In Ukraine Show Chocolate Magnate In Lead" -- Hmmm, wonder if former NYC Mayor (and ongoing flake) Michael Bloomberg will campaign to try to limit the size of candy bars available on the streets of Kiev?

Online story: " Europe's moves to rein in Google — including a court ruling this month ordering the search giant to give people a say in what pops up when someone searches their name — may be seen in Brussels as striking a blow for the little guy." -- "Blow for the little guy"? Yeah ... right.. what does the
little guy" have to hide? Now, on the other hand, it's perfect for the politicians to erase investigations, scandals, and indiscretions.
---
L-E story: " United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley will allocate the $5.2 million raised during the 2013 campaign to 50 local programs administered by 26 agencies in the community, the organization announced this week. * The local United Way serves residents of Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Stewart, Talbot and Taylor counties in Georgia and Russell County in Alabama. The organization raised a total of $7,030,034 during the 2013 campaign, which surpassed its $7 million goal * But not all the money raised during the annual campaigns are allocated to agencies. * “We never collect 100 percent of the dollars pledged. People change jobs, stop their pledges, etc.,” said Ferguson. “So based upon past history we set aside 9.25 percent of the total dollars raised knowing we will not collect it, which is standard practice. And the remainder is our operating budget which is actually down a little bit this year.” -- Hmmm, you know.. for all the ballyhooing about raising over $7 Million but distributing "only" $5.2 Million (that's a 25+% in "shrinkage"), I do think the public needs a little more detail about the difference... say like how much was lost by pledge default?.. how much is held in-house for salaries and benefits? ... how much is spent on expenses/campaigning?
---
L-E headline: "Runners complete 260-mile Run Across Georgia downtown" -- Whether it was for a purpose or just the satisfaction, running across the state of GA is quite a feat. Raising money for the "House of Heroes" is the cherry on top! Oh, I do wish the runners might adopt a uniform policy of wearing shirts.. at least when they are running within the city limits. Hmmm, is there a women's (goose/gander) rights issue in here?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Southern states scrape the bottom in educational and socioeconomic rankings, but we reign supreme in per capita gun deaths. In fact, our average is three times that of those wimpy liberal gun control Northeastern states!" -- The L-E should have its license to publish revoked by the FCC. In GA for 2013, there were 442+/- gun related deaths.. in 2012 inChicago, there were over 500 such deaths, and Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world.. but unfortunately Chicago thugs don't read/obey them.. hmmm, of course, it may be that Chicago thugs just never learned to read if the record of Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan of Chicago is any indicator.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " For years now we have been waiting on the GOP’s health care plan for America. Quit criticizing the Democrats’ plan and detail your plan for us" -- Is idiocy a requirement of the LIV.. or is it something that one catches listening to mainstream media and Democratic Campaign rhetoric? Prior to OObamaCRAP, the US had the BEST healthcare in the world! Will we be able to say that if OObamaCRAP is allowed to take over the whole industry?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " In Tuesday’s Republican primaries, every tea party candidate was defeated. Good riddance and rest in peace." -- Well, another lie by another liberal. First, the "Tea Party" is not a
party".. it's a "movement", and it's been very instrumental in getting the Republican Party back on track.
---
From a L-E story on military facts:
1 - " Franklin Roosevelt waited 22 minutes before reacting to the news of the bombing of Pearl Harbor." -- Obviously FDR got his NY Times delivered quicker than Judas 00-Barnum so he could knew about it faster than 00-Barnum knew about the IRS, Benghazi, "fast&furious", and the VA scandal.
2 - "U.S. secret agents abandoned plans, approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to drop live bats from airplanes to frighten the Japanese during WWII because the bats froze at high altitudes before they could be released." -- Other than this reminds me of the "I thought turkeys could fly" helicopter scene in a classic "WKRP Cincinnati" show, where was PETA?
3 - "The Coast Guard seizes 169 pounds of marijuana and 306 pounds of cocaine, worth over $9.5 million, every day." -- Hmm, if the Coast Guard sold that back to the rest of the world, we could eliminate the Nationial Debt in less than 5 years!
4 - "The Department of Defense employs about 1.8 million people on active duty. It is the largest employer in the U.S., with more employees than Exxon, Mobil, Ford, General Motors and GE combined." -- Hmmm, it's rather obvious that Walmart, with 1.4 MILLION US employees was left out of the mix. BTW, Walmart has 2.2 MILLION employed world-wide, and since Walmart sells guns, Walmart has the capability to arm the biggest militia in the country should the need arise.. no wonder Democrats want to shut Walmart down!
---
L-E's " Thought for Today": “The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.” — Elizabeth Cady Stanton, American feminist (1815-1902)." -- Wow! A woman.. over 100 years ago, exposed today's Democratic Party's whole campaign platform and strategy, and we didn't listen. Bet this quote is nowhere to be found in public school history books.
---
Once again there's proliferation of judges declaring that other states must abide by laws enacted by other states. This is ridiculous and a separate civil rights issue for the states that haven't adopted same sex marriages! How can a judge rule that the majority of states must accept the minority of states actions? Forget the same sex laws, and concentrate on the recreational marijuana laws passed by Colorado and Washington State voters. In Colorado, only 1.4 Million out of 3.6 Million registered voters passed its law, and in Washington State, only 1.7 Million voters out of 3.9 Million registered voters passed its law, yet by lower federal court judges' opinions, they could rule every state has to allow recreational marijuans despite there's a federal law prohibiting the possession, use, selling of marijuana. Our US Supreme Court needs to step up to the plate and say that no law that hasn't been passed by a 51% majority (or even convincingly, a 2/3rds majority) can be inflicted on the other states.

With graduation season just ending.. wonder how many cellphones went off during the ceremonies and if the MCSD evicted the owners?
---
Is it just me, or are there more crimes being reported after the election than the weeks before? Wait a minute, I "must" be dreaming.. Mayor Obamalinson says we don't have crime in Columbus.

Sunday, May 25, 2014

Online story: "SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) -- A 16-year-old who believed he was being ripped off shot and killed a northeastern Pennsylvania cab driver who refused to take his shortcuts, police said * A(_*_)zis R******** was charged with murder Friday night, hours after police said he shot 47-year-old Vincent Darbenzio twice in the head." -- 16 years old.. armed and calling for a cab... It's an obvious hate crime caused by the cultural erosion of an entitlement community on drugs. Judas 00-Barnum has failed the inner cities.. There is no "Hope or Change" he campaigned on.
---
HuffPost headline: 'Stung By Criticism, Obama Preps Sweeping Defense Of His Foreign Policy" -- "Stung by criticism"? How about stung by ineptitude....
---
HuffPost headline: "UCSB Shooting Victim's Father Blames 'Craven' Politicians, NRA For Son's Death" -- Good grief.. I wasn't even going to broach this subject before seeing this headline.. the son has left messages that he was a frustrated young man because women were attracted TO him. Shame on this "father" for making such a political statement at a time like this. Besides, this probably encapsulates why the son was so screwed up...
---
HuffPost headline: "VA Mental Health Care Delays, Staff Shortages, Plague Veterans" -- Hmmm.. probably because of the cut backs in the military budget of Judas 00-Barnum.
---
L-E story: "Two top recruits for Senate races — Michelle Nunn in Georgia and Alison Lundergan Grimes in Kentucky — won't say how they would have voted when the Senate passed the bill in 2010. Their refusals are overshadowing their endorsements of individual parts of the law that are more popular than the law itself." -- Good grief.. don't we have too many Democrats in the Senate to begin with. wasn't that why OObamaCRAP & O-VAmaCRAP came into being?
---
I'm curious.. has anyone seen an atheist organized drive to feed or care for the homeless? Even if there ever was one,, who did the homeless thank.... dog?
---
Online quote source: "“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” - John F. Kennedy" -- Hmmm.. and how did Judas 00-Barnum interpret this to come up with his "Apology Tour" idea?
---
WTVM9 headline: "Redskins to senators: Team's name is 'respectful' -- You know... Washington has already changed the name of one sports team in an effort for better fan support.. The baseball team dropped the name "Senators" to become the Nationals. Seems like it was a good decision.
---
The new X-Men movie is very good ! Timely, too.. touches on a president with drone capability.
---
Why would Chuck Hagel stand up and tell us the public has a obligation to tend to our veterans? The public knows this. What the public and veterans alike don't know is why government is so inefficient, so lacking in prioritizing care for our vets. The problem is, simply, that government spends too much on entitlement programs for people who are healthy or illegally here.
---
You know, all these scandals plus the Mexican incarceration of one if our Marines show us two things about Judas00-Barnum.. first he's very busy juggling problems.. second, he's not very effective at solving them.
---
Personally, I think all the "scientists" who believe/claim that if Global Warming/Climate Change melted Antarctica and the Arctic that the water would rise 8-12 feet should be stripped of their diplomas and ability to apply for government grants. Truth is, that if all that ice did melt, the water level would decrease. Ice/icebergs actually displace water like anything else that floats. Fill a tub with ice then fill it with water to the brim. Ice will actually extend above the brim, but as the ice melts, the water level will drop. The ice, whether above or below the waterline contains an abundance of air trapped in it that gives the frozen water natural buoyancy to float.
---
L-E story: " In terms of the mayoral race, (Rev. Johnny) Flakes (IV), who supported Tomlinson during the election, said he thinks the mayor won because she has proven her ability to address the needs of residents across the city." -- Good grief.. neither Johnny Flakes, III or IV has ever been concerned about any citizen's needs outside their own area.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Which foreigners are most like Americans? Canadians? Australians? British? Japanese? Yet Americans are five, 10, 41 and 175 times more likely to be killed by guns. It’s the laws, not the culture." -- Hmmm, and if you eliminate the major cities in the US which have the strictest guns laws.. i.e. New York, Chicago, Washington, DC, LA , the nation's average dun deaths drop dramatically. Libs have "feelings" (You know "Factless Emotional Eruptions Lacking INteGrity) about things that just don't pan out when facts are added.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Education of the common man is a dangerous thing for the rich and powerful. Muscogee County just fired 31 teachers." -- Hmmm... wasn't it last year when about this many teachers were singled out as potential layoffs from the teacher pool of less than adequate teachers? Weremn't they kept on when more money became available? The question that should be addressed is that why were teachers identified as inadequate kept on last year? That would have saved almost $2,000,000.00 this current years as well as in ongoing years.
---
L-E story: "A Columbus teen was taken to Midtown Medical Center Friday afternoon after he was struck in the face with a brick on West Park Drive, police said. * The 15-year-old boy was in good condition after the 7 p.m. armed robbery and assault. He was treated for swelling to the face, police said. * Two boys were charged with one count each of aggravated assault and armed robbery in connection with the theft of a Bluetooth speaker valued at $10" -- Another crime caused by cultural erosion. When kids have no role models of hard work because of government give-away programs, they see no "Hope or Change", and look to their peers as "roll models".
---
From above story - How much did the taxpayers put out in answering the call, and treating the victim over a $10.00 cellphone speaker?
---
Hmmm, was glad to see the L-E finally post precinct recaps of Tuesday's election results. Guess some of them are closet Breakfast Club readers. Found it interesting, no, revealing, that North Columbus is a lot better at voting for candidates that are black than South Columbus is for voting for candidates who are white.
---
Another interesting find in reviewing poll numbers is that early voters are nearly 60% Democrat.
---
L-E's "Columbus Council Agenda" feature: "Georgia Department Of Transportation, High Priority Project Funding For Construction Restrooms On The RiverWalk: Authorization is requested to enter into an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to accept a High Priority Project grant for $195,088.80 with a 20 percent local match of $48,772.80 for total grant amount of $243,861.60 for construction of restrooms on the RiverWalk under the Martin Memorial Bridge. Item delayed from March 11 agenda. There is a need for additional restrooms to serve the general public utilizing the RiverWalk and the Martin Pedestrian Bridge." -- Good grief.. just a week after the election, and the first thing the City Manager wants to talk about is a $243, 861.60 crap processor. Haven't we already had our fill of crap this week?
---
Claflin School, Extension of Ownership: Authorization is requested to retain ownership of the Claflin School property, located on Fifth Avenue, for an additional six-month period to allow the public to pursue development of a viable redevelopment opportunity that is consistent with the deed restrictions on property. All proposals would be required to be submitted to the city manager’s office no later than Nov. 26." -- Good grief... that building has been rotting for years. How about making it a condition of extension only if Rev Jessie has the building weathered in before the Council addresses this request.
---
Another questional agenda item for the City Manager: " Accg Civic Affairs Foundation Gcip Grant, Planning Department: Authorization is requested to submit an application and, if approved, accept $2,173 or as otherwise awarded from the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia Civic Affairs Foundation for the Planning Department to hire an intern to update forms used in the Records Management System for a 10 week period, fall 2014. There is no local match required" -- Hmmm, a "grant" for a 10-week intern for $2,173.00.. That's not even the old minimum wage, much less Judas 00-Barnum's newly decreedgovernment work related decree. On top of that. an intern generally works under someone, so that means we'll be paying another person beside the intern, and by the time that person trains the intern, the regular employee could probably have finished the project and taxpayers would save the $2,173.00.
---
From above L-E feature: "Opening bid dates: "May 28: South Commons Park Memorial Wall — Work under this contract will include installation of three free standing brick walls to include precast concrete caps; installation of plastic script lettering; and installation of four aluminum plaques with bronze finish." Memorial Wall for what? There's already a Viet Nam Memorial Wall at Lawyers Lane & Buena Vista Rods.. what is this one for?
---
Another "round-a-bout" is opening for bids.. The only thing to really be accomplished is that Mayor Obamalinson goes "around-a-lot" to waste tax dollars on things that don't need fixing.
---
And another Council Agenda item: " Application of Elizabeth Hurst to temporarily close the 1000 block of Broadway from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., in connection with the “Uptown Group Bike Ride” on the following Tuesdays: May 27, June 3, June 10, June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, Aug. 5, Aug. 12, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26, 2014." -- You know.. if bicycles are under the same regulations as cars and trucks, why aren't cars and trucks given equal time to ride around Broadway without having bicycles hamper their way?
---
L-E's " Thought for Today": “There is nothing final about a mistake, except its being taken as final.” — Phyllis Bottome, English author (1884-1963). " -- Hmmm, maybe there will be justice in the future to get rid of OObamaCRAP and )-VAmaCare.

HuffPost headline: "Kerry makes waffling decision on whether to testify on Benghazi" -- And whats new?

---
HuffPost headline: "McDonald's Workers Protesting For Better Pay" -- You know.. if McDonald's workers worked as hard on the job as they do on the picket line, better pay wouldn't be an issue.
---
Online story: "Taxpayers paid more than $5 million to create climate change games, including voicemails from the future warning that “neo-luddites” will kill global warming enthusiasts by 2035. * Columbia University’s Climate Center has received $5.7 million from the National Science Foundation for the university’s “PoLAR Climate Change Education Partnership,” to “engage adult learners and inform public understanding and response to climate change.” -- Hmmm.. Columbia University is the recipient of a nearly $6 Million dollar earmark. Columbia U.. where Judas 00-Barnum purportedly went to undergraduate school. Columbia U.. where no release of Judas 00-Barnum's transcripts or application will be made... Columbia U... where no one seems to remember attending classes with him... perhaps a little palm-greasing just took place.
---
Online story: "A judge on Friday ordered that a serial rapist be released to live in a Los Angeles County community in spite of a host of vocal protests. * Hubbart has acknowledged raping and assaulting about 40 women between 1971 and 1982, when he was sentenced to 16 years in prison. He was paroled in 1990, but arrested in a new attack just two months later and returned to prison until 1996. * When his term ended, he was deemed a sexually violent predator and confined to a state mental hospital. Doctors at the hospital recently concluded he was fit for release" -- Good grief.. how can any court or, for that matter, a doctor at a mental hospital feel a twice convicted recidivist serial rapist has any right to be released back into society? Before there was OObamaCRAP, there was CaliforniaCRAP.
---
Judicial activism in the lower courts has gotten out of hand. With the latest rush to some states to accept same sex marriages performed in other states, it's become apparent that most of theses judges are appointees of eith Judas 00-Barnum or Bill Clinton and are not so much interested in teaching law as in preaching it. Why doesn't the ACLU take the issue of this to the US Supreme Court.. and the issue being that no state be forced to accept another states legislation unless a majority of states' voters have adopted such a law. Until then, the majority of states/voters are being discriminated against by the minority and the courts.
---
Hitler would flourish today in this atmosphere of political correctness and alternative lifestyle tolerances. He would probably be granted "victim" status. Wonder if federal judges would make other states accept his doctrines if 1 or two states voters passed laws protecting genocide?
---
Online story: "SPRINGFIELD, IL --- A House panel today advanced a proposal backed by House Speaker Michael Madigan that would ask voters this fall whether they support the idea of an extra 3-percentage-point tax on those earning more than $1 million a year. * The question would appear on the Nov. 4 statewide ballot, but would be advisory only and not have the force of law." -- What is it with Democrats? Just like this past week's GA Democratic Primary ballot carrying non-binding referenda to stir up class warfare, Illinois Democrats are doing the same but in the General Election. Asking voters if they its OK to tax the successful more is like 10 wolves and 2 sheep to vote on "what's for dinner, roadkill or mutton chops"?
---
Soapbox moment: "Your past consists either of building blocks or stumbling blocks.. your choice"
---
Online quote source: "“Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A 'you can do it' when things are tough.” - Richard M. DeVos" -- "You can do it".. words the poverty stricken will never hear at an entitlement office or a Democrat's campaign speech.
---
Dr Ben Carson.. hmmm, after watching Nate Sanders, former local NAACP president, go down in flames trying to be an good role model as a conservative black leader running for political office as a Republican, I surmise that the black voters will shun Dr. Carson as well should he campaign as a Republican. Dr Carson does have a great message and is a sparkling role model for impoverished students of today, but he will have a better chance to cause effect if he works within the Democratic Party.
---
No wonder Democrats like unions. Unions are the most communistic entities we have in the US. Members get paid a equal collective wage that doesn't reward individuals who surpass the average...and some members, such as organizers, are more equal than others, and get more for bargaining than the actual workers get for working. Hardly fair, is it?
---
Sam's Club gets the "Truth in Signage" Award this month. Went to the restroom, and there was a "Caution - Wet Floor" sign in the doorway. Sure enough, the floor around the urinals was soaking wet.
---
From an online story about the self-censure pf mainstream media concerning Judas 00-Barnum's usurping our Constitution: "Allen Drury’s bleak and dystopian 1973 Cold War novel Come Nineveh, Come Tyre envisioned a weak, wishful thinking-driven, fondly Leftist U.S. President, Ted Jason, as given to fantasy-based policymaking as the present incumbent, presiding over the bloodless surrender of the United States to the Soviet Union. The media adores President Jason, cheerleads for him energetically, defames and denigrates his foes relentlessly, and does everything it can to make him look good, right up until the point when a few of them realize that the freedom of speech is gone, and they have outlived their usefulness." -- Who would have thought that Drury's "Come Nineveh, Come Tyre" and Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" two non-fiction blockbusters of their era, would become such accurate predictions of today? What's the next surprise..Damon Knight's "To Serve Man" will become a reality show on The Food Network?
---
Someone has donated a $1,000,000.00 to the University of GA to educate students about alcohol. From what I hear, the students have pretty well mastered that one, so why not get ahead of the curve and re-direct the money towards educating students about the myth of marijuana being safer than alcohol.
---
Online headline/story: "Detroit motorists under siege in 'Carjack City' * When they pull up to a gas station these days, Detroit drivers are looking beyond the price per gallon at a far more threatening concern: carjackers. * The armed auto thieves have become so common here that parts of the bankrupt metropolis are referred to as "Carjack City," and many motorists fear getting out of their vehicles even for a few moments to fill a tank. * So gas stations are taking steps to protect customers, and the city has formed a special police team to go after suspects" -- Hmm, maybe I was too quick in getting my daughter's 2006 Saturn fixed. Should have just taken it to Detroit for a fill-up, and collect the insurance when it got stolen.
---
Online story: "In Miami, a hub of Cuban and Venezuelan exiles, about the most politically lethal thing a lawmaker can do is to speak about Communism in a positive way. * But that is what U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, a Democrat, did Tuesday night during a Google Hangout about immigration and crimes along the U.S.-Mexico border. * In a discussion about the issue, the Cuban-American noted that El Paso, Texas, known as being one of the country’s safest cities, is directly across from Juarez, Mexico, one of the most dangerous in the hemisphere. * And then he added: “It happens to be across the border from the most dangerous city in the Americas, which is Juarez, right? And two of the safest cities in America, two of them are on the border with Mexico. And of course, the reason is we’ve proved that Communism works.” *“If you give everybody a good, government job, there’s no crime,” Garcia said" -- Good grief...Florida has actually elected a liberal who feels that the only reason communism fails is that the right people haven't been in charge yet.
---
Speaking of Democrats.. we have one here in Columbus who claims that in 1958, slaves built a school that's now abandoned. He also claims using prisoners to work on the back of garbage trucks is slavery. What we need to do is get him talking about all the slaves the Democrat entitlement programs have created.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Yes, a few vets died awaiting VA medical care, but don’t blame Obama. You are old enough to know you needed insurance before Obamacare was even started." -- How can anybody vote for a Democrat politician who values slothfulness over patriotism, or self-service versus service to our country and sacrificing veterans needs to buy entitlement voters?
---
L-E headline/story: "JURY FINDS ‘BULLY’ GUILTY IN 1999 COLD CASE MURDER * The jury believed it, deliberating only about an hour Friday before finding M***** guilty of murder, using a firearm to commit a crime and two counts of threatening a witness.* In his closing argument Friday, defense attorney Robert Wadkins Jr. decried the prosecution’s case for having “not one piece of credible evidence, not one credible witness.” -- Hmmm.. looks like the jury found the witnesses more credible than either the criminal OR his attorney.
---
L-E headline: "Former foe endorses incumbent John Wells in school board runoff" -- Aside from why anyone would run against an incumbent then endorse him later is a mystery, but.. even when you combine Wells' and Morales' combined votes, less than 4 of 10 voters wanted anything to do with either one. Now we know why..
---
L-E story: "The city has temporarily closed a short section of the Fall Line Trace walking/biking trail where it intersects with Miller Road. * The closure started Monday and is expected to last until the second week in June. The project is intended to realign the way the trail crosses Millerfor safety reasons, said Donna Newman, the city’s director of engineering." -- You know.. all the re-alignments in the world will not making bicycling any safer if bicycle riders do not learn and observe the laws and rules of the road. This is just spending good tax dollars on a bad idea.
---
L-E headline: "Sec. Hagel : Accountability needed in VA system" -- Well, golly gee... We could use some accountability in the White House, the IRS, the DOJand the offices of the Secretaries of Homeland Security, Education, Defense, State et al as well.
---
Excuse me, but why would Michelle Nunn marry and not take her husbands surname... at least with a hyphen. It's not like she had a professional degree and career where changing her name might effect her identity.
---
I think it's hysterical that Donald Sterling has given his wife his interest in the LA Crippers. They're still married, but in doing so, he's dodged a bullet with IRS on long term capital gains, and put the NBA in a battle of civil rights with a woman owner who has never been accused or cited for any racial outbursts. Checkmate!
