Interesting tidbit found along the way: In 1975, over 70% of our Congress Representatives/Senators were serving or had served in our military, At the beginning of the 113th Congress (January 2013), there were 108 Members (20% of the total membership) who had served or were serving in the military. I think it's obviously clear why our veterans' health needs are not getting the attention they deserve.

Online story: "President Obama made a rare and surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday for a Memorial Day weekend rally with U.S. troops." -- Hmmm, of course, your guess is as good as mine as to why.. did he want to be among his friends.. or our troops? Either that or to sneak in another round of golf.

Instant replay: "President Obama made a rare and surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday for a Memorial Day weekend rally with U.S. troops." -- Hmmm, guess this was one way to avoid going to Arlington National Cemetery where people would wonder whether he was there to pay homage to our soldiers or to inventory the plots to see if there was enough space to take care of the vets who haven't been taken care of by the VA.

Online story: "If you live in San Francisco, be on the lookout for some mysterious white envelopes -- they may contain $100 bills. * An anonymous person is going around the city, dropping off sums of money in a project called "Hidden Cash," and tweeting hints about the locations. * The anonymous donor told the Bold Italic that the cash deposits are a "social experiment," and said they're worried about staggering wealth inequality in the city. * “I’ve made millions of dollars the last few years, more than I ever imagined, and yet many friends of mine, and people who work for me, cannot afford to buy a modest home in the Bay Area,” the person said * After each money drop, a tweet goes out from @HiddenCash with hints about the location of the envelope. @HiddenCash also requests that the lucky recipients tweet photos of their discovery. " -- Sounds to me that this person is more of a "big twit" seeking attention than an "anonymous philanthropist", and it sounds like the "big twit" is will create a bigger problem by playing on the desperation of people's personal desperations.

Online headline: "UCSB Shooting Victim's Father Blames 'Craven' Politicians, NRA For Son's Death" -- Again, I was not going to invade the family young man, but this "D(_*_)D" is a liberal who immediately emulated the Judas 00-Barnum tactic of pointing "the finger of blame" at people who had nothing to do with his son's problems.
---
HuffPost headline: "Early Exit Polls In Ukraine Show Chocolate Magnate In Lead" -- Hmmm, wonder if former NYC Mayor (and ongoing flake) Michael Bloomberg will campaign to try to limit the size of candy bars available on the streets of Kiev?
---
Online story: " Europe's moves to rein in Google — including a court ruling this month ordering the search giant to give people a say in what pops up when someone searches their name — may be seen in Brussels as striking a blow for the little guy." -- "Blow for the little guy"? Yeah ... right.. what does the
little guy" have to hide? Now, on the other hand, it's perfect for the politicians to erase investigations, scandals, and indiscretions.

L-E story: " United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley will allocate the $5.2 million raised during the 2013 campaign to 50 local programs administered by 26 agencies in the community, the organization announced this week. * The local United Way serves residents of Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Stewart, Talbot and Taylor counties in Georgia and Russell County in Alabama. The organization raised a total of $7,030,034 during the 2013 campaign, which surpassed its $7 million goal * But not all the money raised during the annual campaigns are allocated to agencies. * “We never collect 100 percent of the dollars pledged. People change jobs, stop their pledges, etc.,” said Ferguson. “So based upon past history we set aside 9.25 percent of the total dollars raised knowing we will not collect it, which is standard practice. And the remainder is our operating budget which is actually down a little bit this year.” -- Hmmm, you know.. for all the ballyhooing about raising over $7 Million but distributing "only" $5.2 Million (that's a 25+% in "shrinkage"), I do think the public needs a little more detail about the difference... say like how much was lost by pledge default?.. how much is held in-house for salaries and benefits? ... how much is spent on expenses/campaigning?

L-E headline: "Runners complete 260-mile Run Across Georgia downtown" -- Whether it was for a purpose or just the satisfaction, running across the state of GA is quite a feat. Raising money for the "House of Heroes" is the cherry on top! Oh, I do wish the runners might adopt a uniform policy of wearing shirts.. at least when they are running within the city limits. Hmmm, is there a women's (goose/gander) rights issue in here?

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Southern states scrape the bottom in educational and socioeconomic rankings, but we reign supreme in per capita gun deaths. In fact, our average is three times that of those wimpy liberal gun control Northeastern states!" -- The L-E should have its license to publish revoked by the FCC. In GA for 2013, there were 442+/- gun related deaths.. in 2012 inChicago, there were over 500 such deaths, and Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world.. but unfortunately Chicago thugs don't read/obey them.. hmmm, of course, it may be that Chicago thugs just never learned to read if the record of Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan of Chicago is any indicator.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " For years now we have been waiting on the GOP’s health care plan for America. Quit criticizing the Democrats’ plan and detail your plan for us" -- Is idiocy a requirement of the LIV.. or is it something that one catches listening to mainstream media and Democratic Campaign rhetoric? Prior to OObamaCRAP, the US had the BEST healthcare in the world! Will we be able to say that if OObamaCRAP is allowed to take over the whole industry?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " In Tuesday’s Republican primaries, every tea party candidate was defeated. Good riddance and rest in peace." -- Well, another lie by another liberal. First, the "Tea Party" is not a
party".. it's a "movement", and it's been very instrumental in getting the Republican Party back on track.

From a L-E story on military facts:
1 - " Franklin Roosevelt waited 22 minutes before reacting to the news of the bombing of Pearl Harbor." -- Obviously FDR got his NY Times delivered quicker than Judas 00-Barnum so he could knew about it faster than 00-Barnum knew about the IRS, Benghazi, "fast&furious", and the VA scandal.
2 - "U.S. secret agents abandoned plans, approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to drop live bats from airplanes to frighten the Japanese during WWII because the bats froze at high altitudes before they could be released." -- Other than this reminds me of the "I thought turkeys could fly" helicopter scene in a classic "WKRP Cincinnati" show, where was PETA?
3 - "The Coast Guard seizes 169 pounds of marijuana and 306 pounds of cocaine, worth over $9.5 million, every day." -- Hmm, if the Coast Guard sold that back to the rest of the world, we could eliminate the Nationial Debt in less than 5 years!
4 - "The Department of Defense employs about 1.8 million people on active duty. It is the largest employer in the U.S., with more employees than Exxon, Mobil, Ford, General Motors and GE combined." -- Hmmm, it's rather obvious that Walmart, with 1.4 MILLION US employees was left out of the mix. BTW, Walmart has 2.2 MILLION employed world-wide, and since Walmart sells guns, Walmart has the capability to arm the biggest militia in the country should the need arise.. no wonder Democrats want to shut Walmart down!

L-E's " Thought for Today": “The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.” — Elizabeth Cady Stanton, American feminist (1815-1902)." -- Wow! A woman.. over 100 years ago, exposed today's Democratic Party's whole campaign platform and strategy, and we didn't listen. Bet this quote is nowhere to be found in public school history books.

Once again there's proliferation of judges declaring that other states must abide by laws enacted by other states. This is ridiculous and a separate civil rights issue for the states that haven't adopted same sex marriages! How can a judge rule that the majority of states must accept the minority of states actions? Forget the same sex laws, and concentrate on the recreational marijuana laws passed by Colorado and Washington State voters. In Colorado, only 1.4 Million out of 3.6 Million registered voters passed its law, and in Washington State, only 1.7 Million voters out of 3.9 Million registered voters passed its law, yet by lower federal court judges' opinions, they could rule every state has to allow recreational marijuans despite there's a federal law prohibiting the possession, use, selling of marijuana. Our US Supreme Court needs to step up to the plate and say that no law that hasn't been passed by a 51% majority (or even convincingly, a 2/3rds majority) can be inflicted on the other states.

With graduation season just ending.. wonder how many cellphones went off during the ceremonies and if the MCSD evicted the owners?

Is it just me, or are there more crimes being reported after the election than the weeks before? Wait a minute, I "must" be dreaming.. Mayor Obamalinson says we don't have crime in Columbus.
