Online story: "Rep. Janice Hahn (D-Calif.) walked out of the National Day of Prayer event at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, saying she was "outraged" after James Dobson, founder of the conservative Christian advocacy group Focus on the Family, called President Barack Obama the “abortion president.” * Dobson said, “President Obama, before he was elected, made it very clear that he wanted to be the abortion president. He didn’t make any bones about it," -- What is it with libs? When one of their own says something.. truthful of not, they accept it as Gospel, yet when they hear it repeated from another source, it's horrifying. Now why not ask the California Representative whether or not she might agree, with Dodson, that the Lying King's reign has BEEN an abortion? Oh, BTW, Dobson was out of line. This was an opportunity to pray for healing rather than postulation.

Online story: "It's been just 12 years since the Detroit Lions moved to Ford Field, a stadium constructed for the NFL team in downtown Detroit. But the Pontiac Silverdome, the Lions' old haunt, has quickly fallen into disrepair." -- Hmmm.. how'd anybody notice.. it was so well camouflaged amid the ruins of Detrit?
---
Helicopters... Riding on I-185 yesterday morning,, the bride and I saw 4-6 (probably military) helicopters hovering over and about the airport. It was probably just some maneuver exercise, but it looked like there might have been an "incident" in progress.... either that or Mayor Obamalinson was practicing her re-coronation.
---
You know, if the L-E weren't so wrapped up in Mayor Obamalinson, we might find out how bad the crime story is in town. As it is, we have to rely on outside news sources who don't have access to all the details

HuffPost headline/story: "CBS Downplays White House Connection Amid Benghazi Controversy * CBS News President David Rhodes was not involved in editorial discussions on Wednesday about whether “CBS Evening News” should cover a newly released email written by his brother Ben Rhodes, the White House deputy national security adviser, according to a network spokesperson." -- Hmmm, guess it'll be another year before Judicial Watch will be able to get its hands on the Rhodes personal e-mails.
---
HuffPost headline: "Lindsey Graham Blasts White House Officials As 'Scumbags' Over Benghazi" -- Good grief! Having Lindsey Graham as a watchdog is akin to Barney Fife being Secretary of Defense.
---
Online headline/story: "Charles Barkley scolds Magic Johnson for celebrating Mike D’Antoni’s resignation * “Happy days are here again!” Hall of Famer and former Lakers point guard Magic Johnson tweeted. “Mike D’Antoni resigns as the Lakers coach. I couldn’t be happier!”" -- Hold on.. I'm about to complement Charles Barkley... Amidst the effusive hatred rising out of the NBA bashing in LA, Charles Barkley has emerged as levelheaded. The delight, the obvious display of satisfaction of Magic Johnson at the resignation of Laker coach, Mike D'Antoni, undermined any level of acceptance the public should keep for Johnson. His was not the delight of seeing something good rise like a Phoenix from the ashes, Johnson's reaction was in the delight at someone else's expense. Now, why doesn't the NBA office appoint Large Charles to bash Johnson like it did a demented octogenarian idiot?

Online story: "We’re exactly a week away from the start of the 2014 NFL draft, but the Houston Texans apparently know who they want to select with the No. 1 pick, according to general manager Rick Smith. * “I absolutely know who I want,” Smith said in an interview with “Texans Huddle.” “I know the guys we like. The fortunate thing about having the first pick is I’ve got the pick of the litter, so I will know exactly who I want at that point.”" -- "pick of the litter"? Can you imagine the outroar if the Texans were an NBA team?

Soapbox moment: Yesterday, I railed about the inclusion of failing Columbus schools mentioned in the same breath as Columbus High School in a U.S. News & World Report on excellence. A fellow BCer asked why can't the MCSD system take the model that works at Columbus High and implement such at the other schools. That is a good question! No, an important question. I thought about it and responded in conclusion: " (I) hate to say this, but the school system "is afraid". Creating a system wide set of discipline and standards would run more students off (in short run), and the school system doesn't want to break off its revenue sources for state and federal moneys. It's sick. Truth is, the students that stay would improve grade wise (and isn't that the goal we all want?), and some of the students that are pushed out of the system will want to get back in after they find out what it's like to be on the outside, and younger students will have leadership for what's expected of them. Fear? Greed? I honestly believe this is the root of the decline in results.. The GA Legislature needs to devise another method of determining how schools are funded. Just sheer numbers is not working.
---
Oh, talking about one of our schools that did not belong in the U.S. News & World Report's story on excellence, this is from an L-E story: "Police arrested one Kendrick High School student and have issued warrants for another after two boys plotted to lure their robbery victim into a bathroom, according to Columbus police reports. * When the officer found H(_*_)milton (one of the thugs), he said he was supposed to be serving in-school suspension, but had left the room without permission. He was earlier asked to leave campus, but refused, saying he had to call his mother, according to the report. *The officer said Hamilton admitted to being in the bathroom to hide from the assistant principal. Hamilton maintained that he never paid attention to the victim, though he said the victim made a choking sound, which he didn’t investigate.
* Hamilton said he found the victim lying on the floor, and kicked him before running away. He revised his story" -- This is exactly what an earlier comment of mine is about. The school system tries to keep thugs enrolled in order to keep the "per head" state/federal moneys rolling in. This policy is to the detriment of a good and safe education! This is SICK! A new way to distribute money to schools needs, no, MUST be devised!
---
Separate confirmation of above - L-E headline/story: "Kendrick High student's cell phone snatched
A 17-year-old Kendrick High School student reported his cell phone stolen Monday after another student snatched it near a stairwell, according to a Columbus Police report" -- Clean house of thugs!

You know, university liberals say they are effectively bringing enlightenment to student lives. Hmmm, wouldn't it be more effective if students were being enlightened by reality?

Online story: "Seattle Mayor Ed Murray announced a plan on Thursday to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour over the next three to seven years. It is the first major U.S. city to make a commitment to such a high base wage." -- ARRGGGHHHH!!!!! Lincoln once said, more or less, God loves the poor.. it's why he made so many of us. OK. then why did God make so many liberals.. love surely has nothing to do with it..
You know, I think it would behoove our Chamber of Commerce to open a branch office in Seattle. Businesses there will be wanting avenies of escape, so why not get our share? I'm not talking about service industry jobs alone.. I'm talking about being ready to get the Boeing business.. While $15.00 doesn't shake up the pay levels at Boeing, $15.00 per hour at McDonald's will effect the living standards of Boeing employees. Businesses that close because of such a minimum wage would affect the standard of living for Boeing employees even more. We already know that Boeing is grumbling, looking for alternative, so why not Columbus?

Have you seen Al Franken's petition? He says corporations are not people? Doh! Then how come Franken thinks non-people should be paying taxes?
---
There was an interview with Tommy Veitor, a NSC/Judas 00-Barnum spinmeister, about his memory of the Benghazi massacre.. His stock answer was "it was 2 years ago".. he can't be expected to remember..Well, my experiences suggest that if you told the truth, you can remember pretty good. If you haven't, it's pretty tough to remember which lie you told to whom..

Online story: "The head of Oklahoma's Department of Corrections told Gov. Mary Fallin on Thursday that he needs more oversight of execution procedures and said it took officials 51 minutes to find a suitable vein before the botched execution earlier this week" -- Huh! Justice was served! It doesn't get any better than when the scumbag who wreaked hell on other families goes through some hell in his final minutes. This should be "The STANDARD", not an accident.
---
Online story: "Many of the young people who packed auditoriums to cheer on Democratic candidates in the last election cycle may sit out the upcoming midterms, according to a new poll." -- Hmm, could it be that now they are simply confused? Could it be that they realize they would have to choose between voting for a Republican they've been conditioned to hate or voting for a Democrat 1-percenter they've also been conditioned to hate?
---
Online story: "If the 1968 federal minimum wage had kept pace with inflation it would be $10.75 today. But it is only $7.25, an amount so low that many full-time workers need government assistance such as food stamps, Medicare, etc., just to get by." -- This is the Democratic postulation. Combating inflation all along would have been better for entry level jobs than raising the minimum wage. Fact is, raising the minimum wage has an escalation factor ON inflation that negates any potential gain.

Undeniable fact: Jay Carney is not going to tell the truth. That's not his job..sad but true.. pathetic even, but his job is to parrot Judas 00-Barnum. The White House Press Corps should stand and turn around and face the back wall whenever Carney enters the room.

Another BCer has succinctly and accurately summed up the Jameis Winston saga: "FSU... Free Seafood University" _ Hey if you cannot laugh, no, guffaw at this, you are an incurable liberal. If you are offended as well, sorry for your plight. I know I'll never look at my nephews' t-shirts again with out thinking about this.

The e-edition of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer is not running... again.. 2nd thime this week. I don't know what aggravates me the most of about this... whether I regret being uninformed or misinformed.. but, either way, I do miss the bountiful "set ups" I get for my blog comments.

Standing "O" for the 57 MCSD's nominees as "Teacher of the Year". I'm glad to see good news be printed in the L-E. Picture, too.....but, the picture is revealing what may be part of the problem. When "we" were in school.. all teachers dressed in more professional attire. Even male coaches in high school were required to wear a dress shirt/tie when teaching classes other than gym. I'm sorry, but teachers who dress like, and blend in with the students just aren't acceptable. Students need to know, and need to be able to quickly identify who their authority figures are... at all times.

Sick LIV's L-E "soundoff": "When a politician tells you he will "protect" you from Obamacare, he has just told you he would again give insurance providers complete control over your health care and would leave you at their mercy." -- Good grief! Democrat voters must drink Kool-Aid by the gallon! When a politician tells you he feels the government NEEDS, and is equipped, to protect you from everything, including your guaranteed Constitutional rights, everyone is in deep do-do!
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": ""Martin's use of Darr and Countryman to politicize public safety is irresponsible and unprofessional and undermines public trust." -- No, it just means that the Chief of the CPD cannot join in their support because he's serving at the whim of Mayor Obamalinson.
