Online story: "James Comey, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said Monday the agency is "grappling with the question" of how to amend its hiring policies that exclude anyone who has smoked pot in the previous three years from being considered for a job." Huh? Good grief.. It's still against the law nationally in spite of what the voters in Colorado and Washington voted for.. What's the issue?

HuffPost headline: "Palin: 'Hillary's Brain Is Off-Limits' But My Personal History Wasn't" -- She's absolutely right,, but she's absolutely Pail, too.

HuffPost story: "Once again, the world hit record heat levels. The average global temperature last month tied the hottest April on record four years ago. * The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Tuesday say last month's average temperature was 58.1 degrees Fahrenheit (14.5 degrees Celsius). That was 1.39 degrees F (0.77 C) warmer than the average last century." -- Good grief... 1.39 degrees higher than the average of the past 100 years.. Chicken Little is alive and well! To boot, something as simple as the change of placement sites of measuring devices, and what time of day the measurements were taken could make up that difference. Shoot, just not accounting for the creation of "Daylight Savings Time" would skew this average up.
---
From above story: "NOAA scientist Jessica Blunden said April's heat was driven especially by Siberia and Eurasia. She said the United States and Canada were the few exceptions. Canada was a bit cooler than normal and the United States was a tad warmer than normal." -- Hmmm, like we "ugly Americans" have anything to do with the weather in Russia or Canada. Besides, one of the causes of pattern changes is the "jet stream", and there;s good data saying the HAARP program could very well have some effect on the "jet stream", and that is something that could be changed.

On the local election scene: Last night, a little after 10:00 PM, a story in the online version of the Columbus L-E reported 100% of the Muscogee County precincts had been counted and reported, while the local TV were still saying only 3% of them had been. Something just doesn't add up.. Must be the "Common CRAP" math program in the Muscogee County School System.

HuffPost headline: "Federal Judge Strikes Down Gay Marriage Ban In 14th State" -- How can the same federal court system strike down the laws the citizens of individual states enact that aren't contrary any federal law, yet allow Colorado and Washington State to enact marijuana laws that ARE in conflict with existing federal law? Our US Supreme Court needs to stop this judicial activism trend immediately.
---
Of course the lawyers are all in favor of same-sex marriages.. it's adding more potential divorce cases to the pot.
---
Online story: "On the eve of a critical Senate vote and under court order, the Obama administration signaled it will publicly reveal a secret memo describing its legal justification for using drones to kill U.S. citizens suspected of terrorism overseas. * Two administration officials told The Associated Press that the Justice Department has decided not to appeal a Court of Appeals ruling requiring disclosure of a redacted version of the memo under the Freedom of Information Act * The decision to release the documents comes as the Senate is to vote Wednesday on advancing President Barack Obama's nomination of the memo's author, Harvard professor and former Justice Department official David Barron, to sit on the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston" -- Mainstream media will treat whatever is in this "memo" with the same acceptance of the 'birth certificate" Judas 00-Barnum fim=nally released, so that is not the issue I think the Senate should focus on.. what the Senate should be wary of is that Barron worked for Pric Holder, and may become an influence in any charges Holder may be subjected to in the future.
---
To the above story: Besides, why would the Judicial system benefit from someone tainted by working in the Justice Department that ignored enforcing laws of the books. That in itself was judicial activism.
---
Online headline: "Pat Sajak Says People Concerned About Climate Change Are 'Unpatriotic Racists'" -- This should end all discussions of the liberals. Pat Sajak is the consummate person to read "the writing on the Wall"! He even has an assistant to "fill-in-the-blanks spaces".
---
Online quote source: " “You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.” - Jim Rohn" -- You know.. this is another inspirational quote from a self-made man.. this will not be entered into a conversation by a Democrat.
---
Online headline/story: "Florida high school charging $200 for best seats at graduation * According to the Bradenton Herald, Manatee High School charged parents $200 for prime seating at the May 31 graduation ceremony at the school's Hawkins Stadium * best seats at graduation * According to the Bradenton Herald, Manatee High School charged parents $200 for prime seating at the May 31 graduation ceremony at the school's Hawkins Stadium. * The school said this year's graduation will cost about $12,000. The school district usually gives the school about $3,000 to pay for the event, but this year the district will not be offering the money, the paper reported" -- This must be the results of the "Common CRAP" math program.. Let me get this straight.. the school is using its own facility and graduation costs are $12,000.00? Something tells me that the school has not looked at a single cost factor and eliminated waste. I can visualize a graduation ceremony being basically "cost free" if using an outdoor taxpayer paid facility during daylight hours. Maybe a sound system would be necessary, but doesn't the school already own one? Students, parents, and taxpayers are getting shafted at Manatee High School.
---
Online story: "An Ohio teachers union is suing the school district in a Cleveland suburb for the names, addresses and phone numbers of hundreds of teachers who crossed the picket line during an acrimonious strike last year." -- Good grief! The taxpayers should revolt and disband the local teachers' union, and bar members of such from ever teaching again. What a horrible role model for students!
---
Well how about this...Mississippi State's football stadium will surpass the searing capacity at Ole Miss this season. Go, State, Go!
---
Yesterday, I mentioned that Illinois was paying $1166.00 a piece to fly "prairie chickens" back into Illinois. My second thought was that wouldn't birds just fly into Illinois on their own if they wanted to be there. Another BCer summed up the situation succinctly, "The state bird of Illinois should be the "Jail Bird." - Amen!
---
You know, the VA "wait list" scandal is even worse that we initially imagined. Judas 00-Barnum has been knowledgeable of the situations all along, yet says he just heard about it in mainstream media stories. Is there anything the mainstream media will not believe that this "man" utters?
---
On the local front elections: 72.44 % of District 2 voters voted against Wells.. Good Show, District 2 voters! Stay focused in the runoff.
---
You know.. our legislative delegation really did us wrong when they basically stuck Columbus voters with local elections being decided during the primary races rather than in the November General Election. The leadership is being decided by less than 25% the registered voters because there is not enough interest generated to get voters motivated. The fact that 35+ % of the total votes cast were not done on election day demonstrates this breakdown.
---
Once again, culturism raised its ugly head. Nate Sanderson, a stalwart member of the community, the recent leader of the local NAACP, was rejected by the black community because he was supported and endorsed by Republicans. Not since 1990, when another intensely popular and driven member of the local black leadership, Margaret Jenkins, ran for a state Representative seat as a Republican has this been so obviously apparent. When will the black community shake the yoke the Democrats so gladly control it with?
---
L-E story: "The reelection win for Tomlinson makes her 2-0 in political races. She's the first mayor since consolidation in 1973 to be reelected facing opposition. Mayor Bobby Peters is the only other post-consolidation mayor to be reelected, but he did so without opposition." -- This just accents why we need to get our local elections tied into the General Election.. It wouldn't have ,mattered with Mayor, now Judge, Peters because there wasn't enough discord for anyone to challenge the job he was doing. There was enough discord for a great many voters wanting a change in leadership this time.
---
Hopefully, Council members will look closer at this and see that Mayor Obamalinson's "vision" is not universally accepted. Politics aside.. Council's children/grandchildren will be stuck with some of these programs and maintaining such which do not generate revenue to do so on their own.
---
Worthy of repeating L-E "soundoff": "You forgot to include the Ledger-Enquirer when you wrote about the divide of Columbus and Macon Road." -- The bias of mainstream media is the biggest hurdle that the community has to clear to join together.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “If you want to be free, there is but one way; it is to guarantee an equally full measure of liberty to all your neighbors. There is no other.” - Carl Schurz, American politician (1829-1906)" -- Hmmm, bet there were no "thought police" around in 1906, and mainstream media probably applauded such wisdom.
---
There's a story about a Texas teen's possible sentence framework if convicted of baking brownies with marijuana and hash oil. Where do you define his crime.. of all the things wrong, the most wrong is that these brownies could be unknowing consumed by children.. for that matter by anyone who just thought theu were brownies. Sure, the brownies were in his apartment, but something brought the police there to begin with.
---
L-E headline: "Thailand’s army declares martial law, denies coup" -- Hmmm, bet this gives Judas 00-Barnum nightmares.. His basic line/lie of not knowing about it until he reads about it in the newspaper won't wash when his Homeland Security Army does the same.
---
There's a letter in the L-E today expressing disdain for the numerous potholes in Columbus Streets and the seemingly lack of concern by the City to maintain the streets and the potholes. Nowhere is this more evident than 2nd Avenue heading south from 32nd/33rd Streets. The under base of 2nd Avenue is brick from a era long past. Just putting asphalt over it was "OK" when 2nd Avenue ended at 45th Street (now Manchester Expressway) because it was primarily a local access road from Bibb City to downtown Columbus. NOw, with it being the connector exit/entry to the J.R. Allen Parkway, 2nd Avenue has become the primary gateway from Phenix City which has increased traffic many times, but it also has become the raceway for dumptrucks from the northern quarries. For some reason, the dumptrucks find it easier to move south 2nd Avenue rather than the stop and go traffic lights that proliferate the Veterans Parkway route. As a reslut. there 2-40 ton behemoths (with loads) put extreme pressure of an unstable road bed and the rsults are self-evident. Council needs to work with our legislative branch to get these dumptrucks rerouted south via Veterans or I-185.

I know the MCSD schools are not paying for these full page ads og the graduating classes, but theses ads are not inexpensive, and the school's parents who pay this could use that same money to mske their children's schools better.

L-E story: "(The reverend Richard) Jessie, who was once a certified general contractor, said a plumber, electrician and roofer will be among those touring the building Wednesday. He said he would like to see black contractors in the community work together on the project, and hopes it will lead to the restoration of other black landmarks such as the Liberty District. * “The Claflin School was built by former slaves,” he said. “It would be great if the sons of former slaves could restore the building.” -- Claflin School... built by firmer slaves? BS! Double BS! The Reverend Jesse is full of his own BS! CLAFLIN School was built in 1958. Jessie has a "slave mentality overload, and is doing this community zero good in overcoming discord.
---
L-E story: "— A group of professors say a policy blocking health systems from hiring smokers may have a disproportionate impact on certain employees. * Al.com   reported Tuesday that a report written in part by UAB professors in the Journal of the Association of Medical Colleges says bans at health facilities could impact lower-skilled and lower-paid workers, especially at urban facilities. They say lower income people and those without college degrees make up a large share of the adult smoking population." -- Heh heh heh.. don't you know that pot smokers (and their lawyers) are looking at this with much anticipation... especially those that failed drug screens ?

What is that drives people to think a full scholarship (and great medical coverage) to a major university is not sufficient compensation for participating in sports? When it comes down to it, it's the non-sports students that keep the university financially viable when they pay their own tuition, and later contribute back from the wealth they've accumulated by having a great education.
