I really hate to see school board candidates campaigning on "for the children". The children have 6,000 plus employees on salary to take care of there needs. What we need in a school board candidate is some one, preferably 9 some ones, who know their job is to monitor the school system use of tax dollars, and be good stewards of how the school systems spends the taxpayers' money.

Mayor Obamalinson is very confusing in her definitions of finding new sources of revenues while not wanting to raise any taxes (other than our property taxes..DOH) . what confuses me is how she'll raise other revenues. She has a bad habit of spending big dollars on pet projects that have ongoing maintenance expenses, but those services produce zero income or user fees that to cover ongoing expenses. With no more expenses regarding Whitewater , all the fees expected over the 60 years will go to fix the banks of the river that were damaged by construction, the natatorium user fees are way negative, there are no fees for the bike trails or doggie playground, the golf courses eke by, and there seems to be nothing but raising fees (which are defacto indirect taxes) on businesses and parking tickets. Oh. and let's not forget the money of METRA.
