Anthony Weiner...what can you say...what did the NY voters expect... you send a DUMB&DUMBERat weiner to Washington, and it will do exactly what you expect it.

A California school system spent $105,000,000.00 on a new high school building,, but it will not open for the 2011-12 school year because the school system has no money to staff and operate it. Wish I could say this was "an only in California" moment, but we could have the same situation here if the MCSD persists on starting all the projects it crammed into its 'SPLOST' wish list.

L-E headline: "Smaller version of Books-A-Million going into Peachtree Mall" -- Books-A-1000?

If I were the head of another nation, I'd be glad the Republicans voted against raising the "debt ceiling". I'd be glad that someone in America was interested in stopping the out-of-control government spending.

Toyota announces another recall. This time for its Prius line. Seems there can be a steering problem caused by a loose nut. If that's the case, Prius will always be recalled as its primary buyers are liberals, and what looser nuts are there behind a wheel?

L-E headline: "Mayor to court employers during trip to Germany " -- Hmmm, too bad that when any such employers want to visit Columbus, when they go online to book a room, all the hotel/motel sites will steer them to Phenix City or Opelika because of Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson's former law firm.

From a L-E story: "The Sixth Annual One Columbus Unity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, June 23 at Robert Trent Jones Grand National Links Golf Course, Opelika, Ala." -- For the 6th annual time...Huh? Surely this would be of better benefit if it were held in COLUMBUS!

From L-E story: "The U.S. Department of Agriculture is set to unveil a replacement to its much-maligned food pyramid Thursday morning, scrapping the rainbow-striped triangle with a staircase edge in favor of a simple circle designed to evoke a dinner plate. " -- Wonder if there will be 3 'plates' (breakfast, lunch & supper), or whether to plates should be "square" (square meals), or should we be more concerned that the 'triangle' is being replaced by a "pie" chart? Of course what you people should be more concerned about is that 'we people' are paying the salaries for those people to waste our time and money.

L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Face to face at the White House, GOP leaders complained to President Barack Obama on Wednesday that he had not produced a detailed plan of spending cuts and accused him of playing politics over Medicare as the nation careens toward a debt crisis." -- What do the Republicans expect? Emperor O'Bozo hasn't produce a plan about anything other than his golf dates and vacation sites. Pelosi et al wrote out his HELL-thScare; there's been no actually budget in two years, and none of his ideas will benefit (even in his own mind) anyone while he's serving this or next term.

L-E headline: "AP sources: U.S., Pakistan relations are on the mend " -- Hmmm, wonder how much more this is costing us?

There are many ways the City can reduce its budget expenses today that have long term benefits as well. Let's start with the vehicles used by City, Police, Marshal, Sheriff, and Fire Oficials. Why are so many people using their taxpayer funded cars as personal cars? First place to start would be to make it mandatory for city employees who have 'take home cars' to live in Columbus. What benefit is it to the City for City employees to drive to a parking spot just inside Columbus limits, then get in another vehicle to finish the drive home? Secondly, why are City vehicles still issued to most officials as a perk? When the practice started, salaries were somewhat under the private market, but that is generally not true today. Why should City taxpayers be paying for personal expenses of City employees who use their taxpayer provided vehicles to shop, run errands, or transport their kids anywhere?

L-E story: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Beer enthusiasts are toasting the Alabama Legislature for passing a bill that they hope will lead to a resurgence of brew pubs and the opening of more breweries. * “The state will be able to print a beer tour map of the state where people can go from Huntsville to Mobile visiting brew pubs and breweries,” he said. " -- Doh! In most states, people don't need maps to find conveniencestotes and gas stations.
