Online headline: "Mitt Romney On Climate Change: 'The World Is Getting Warmer... Humans Have Contributed' -- Talk about shooting oneself in the foot and a lot of other places, what's Romney's campaign slogan going to be, "Algore was right"?

From a fellow BCer: "Judge Rules Gay League Can Limit Number of Heterosexual Players * The ruling was announced after three bisexual men claimed they were kicked out of the Gay Softball World Series for not being gay enough and filed a lawsuit in Washington state against the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Association * The men claim they were "summoned to a hearing room to answer questions about their sexual interests or attractions," according to the Courthouse News Service. * The men said they were told that "this is the Gay World Series, not the Bisexual World Series. * U.S. District Court Judge John Coughenour struck down the lawsuit. *"Plaintiffs have failed to argue that there is a compelling state interest in allowing heterosexuals to play gay softball," Coughenour wrote, according to the Courthouse News Service. * "It is not the role of the courts to scrutinize the content of an organization's chosen expression." --
Bet you wonder if the same judge would rule that Boy Scouts of America have the same scrutinization rights?

In response to one of my comments in yesterday's blog concerning the option of raising the garbage fee $6.00 A YEAR, here is Mayor Obamalinson's direct response,

"Because properly managed and prioritized, we have enough money coming into the city government to handle what our level of service should be. Two days a week pick up is excessive. I'm surprised you of all people are for raising fees for excessive service."

My response back, "I do not find twice a week service excessive... Besides what's excessive is for you to want to keep the same fees for less service when, by your own accounting, when another .50 cents a month would cover it."

Mayor Obamalinson's response back, "Difference of opinion obviously. I guess the point is, the fees we are collecting don't cover the service offered. We can cut the service to the rate of revenue or increase fees. I don't want to increase fees, as I feel we should live by our means. "

My response back, "Well, I guess we will disagree. I can not see value in eliminating a neighborhood plus that runs into 8 digits for revenue needs when a $6.00 per year fee addition (a gallon and a half worth of gasoline) will cover the difference in not having the neighborhood plus service. I'm sure than are many more opportunities to save $331,000.00 by simply tweaking salaries and wages as private industry has to do to keep within budget restraints."

Br'er Mayor Obamalinson, she don't say nuthin' else.

Online headline: "Jack Kevorkian Dead: Assisted Suicide Advocate Dies At Age 83 " -- Hmmm, would loved to have seen his confrontation with St Peter.

Online headline: "Barack Obama, John Boehner To Play Golf Together" -- Wish I could say, and believe, that Boehner "was taking one for the team" in that golfing with the Emperor O'Bozo would keep him from signing any executive orders for at least 4 hours, but having learned the Emperor can sign anything, any time via his automated "robo-pen", we are never safe.

L-E headline/story: "Disgraced Attorney Elliott J. Vogt working on possible plea deal *
“His life has been ruined,” (Defense attorney Neal J.) Callahan said. “I’m not sure what society would gain from putting him in jail.” -- How about 1 less crook on the streets?

L-E headline/story: "Columbus City Manager Isaiah Hugley to travel to China to teach officials * Hugley is one of several civil service employees who will be making the trip, which is being funded by the Vinson Institute and the Chinese government, according to the University of Georgia." -- Hmmm, now here's a dual opportunity.. Columbus can cut the budget by deducting his salary while he's away from Columbus, but Hugley can make up for it by getting a great deal on a Char-Broil grill at the Chinese outlet store.
