Online headline: "Democrats Disappointed With Obama's Afghanistan Speech" -- Wow, there can be bi=partisan support and aisle crossing in Washington!

Yesterday, I received two different robo calls on my business cell phone from the same person using two different names (once he was "Dave" then he was "John" but the voice was unmistakably the same) trying to offer "guaranteed" life insurance. The next time he calls, I will stay on the line until a person comes on, and then I will give him a few new names of my own! Do the same, and try to get his phone number and turn it into the BBB and the DoNotCall.gov website.

Algore is at it again....believing he is Dog ( hey, it's obvious that Algore has a monumental case of dyslexia) again, that is. Now he's increasing his concept that the world is overpopulated, and that women must take control of when, where, and how many children they should have ("fertility management"). Excuse me.... God has the power to bring conception to women through immaculate conception, and gift babies to the previously infertile in spite of us trying to manipulate our lives to suit our, versus God's, plan for us. I know God, and you. Algore, are not God.

Online story: "BOSTON, MA (WCVB/CNN) - Boston's mayor wants Nike to remove controversial T-shirts from the city's store fronts because he believes the slogans on the shirts promote drug use. * For decades, Nike's Just Do It slogan has inspired athletes, but a new campaign featuring different phrases, out on display at Nike Town on Newbury, is riling some shoppers and the mayor. * "The fine line between edgy and stupid. They put their sneakers on and ran right over that," Mayor Thomas Menino said. * One shirt says "dope" with what appears to be a red pill bottle. Another says "get high." -- Wow, a D&D politico doing the right thing for the right reasons! Incredible! Hope we all take a measure and let our local Nike retailers hear our objections in words and at the cash register.

Online headline:Al Gore Blasts Obama On Climate Change For Failing To Take 'Bold Action' " -- Heh heh heh! Algore has finally re-emerged! What he hasn't noticed is since he's been out of the public light licking his marital wounds instead of flapping his lips, global warming has stopped, so in effect, Emperor O'Bozo has done something about climate change. Go away, again, Algore! You're winning!

One aspect of the MCSD's summer feeding program not being addressed, or does it desire to discuss, is the long term damage this program is doing to the future of the children and their future families.
Damage, you say?
Yes. The MCSD's feeding program is exposing children to go to school instead of the kitchen to get their food. They are learning that their parents are not forced (or encouraged) to be responsible for providing food items; therefore the parents can/will spend the money on other than food items lessening the chance that there will be food in the kitchen when schools are not open to feed them. This is a formula guaranteed to keep and grow the vicious cycle of government intervention into families private lives.
Of course, the defense the MCSD (et al) will turn to is, "It's for the children." Peering into the crystal ball of the future growth of government nannyism, all I can say is, "Is it?". What value is any educational program that does not teach children to be independent?
---
I guess the fact that reading scores of the MCSD CRCT testing is the best category means that once the students learn how to read, they find out their other subject books are not worth reading.

Overall, the freeze has been good for Columbus, as it keeps Council at bay from running even further amok with unneeded spending. I do agree that there should be a 'minimum' fee for city services, but at the same time, there should be a maximum property tax for residences. Many homeowners (not me, BTW) have a property tax liability exceeding $10,000.00 and most of theses houses are not in areas that can get good fire and police response/coverage.

Oh! Ran into a woman at the grocery store who stopped me to tell me she appreciated and supported my view in the Letters to the Editor concerning the L-E story on the Lumpkins.... then she added that she worked at the L-E. There is "HOPE" for "CHANGE"!
---

L-E headline: "Investigators probe cover-up claim in Atlanta schools cheating scandal" -- Speaking of CRCT cover-ups, what ever happened to the former (and celebrated) principal at Rigdon Road School?
