Online headline/story: "23 Countries Identified As 'Not Doing Enough' To Combat Slavery * According to a report by ABC News' Kirit Radia, the State Department's newly-released annual Trafficking in Persons report faults 23 countries for "not doing enough" to fight modern slavery. This is almost double last year's total of 13 countries, and could lead to sanctions from the U.S. * “One of the innovations when I became Secretary was we were going to also analyze and rank ourselves," (Hilary) Clinton said. "I don’t think it’s fair for us to rank others if we don’t look hard at who we are and what we’re doing.”" -- Yeah, but it looks like Hilary has only looked at the 'physical acts' of slavery; the DUMD&DUMBERats have enslaved more people 'mentally' in this country by nannyism programs that leave too many people impoverished and hopeless to do something about it for themselves.

From a diatribe of Jesse Jackson: "There is nothing about an economic crisis that should allow a states' rights ideology to suspend democracy by stripping an elected mayor and city council of authority and then empowering an unaccountable and unelected czar to nullify worker contracts and sell off assets. * In Michigan, a state devastated by misguided corporate trade policies that undermined U.S. manufacturing, Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has made himself the tribune of a corporate shuttering of the democracy. Snyder passed a law -- Emergency Financial Manager Law Public Act 4 -- that added extensive powers for state-appointed emergency financial managers to rule over communities or school districts in financial distress. * . And it is not surprising that these emergency financial managers are being foisted disproportionately on cities and school districts with the poorest people and the highest numbers of minorities." -- Wow! Jesse Jackson finally admitting the state of incompetent leadership in D&D majority inner city areas. One only has to look at Atlanta and Birmingham and Washington, DC to know how deep the problem is.

Follow up thought: How can the IRS issue and support a 501 (c) 3 designation to an entity that's as openly political as MediaMatters.com? IRS threatens churches that they will lose their exemption if they are politically active from the pulpit (unless Jesse Jackson or Jeremiah Wright happen to occupy the pulpity).

While he's not really worth attention, Blagojevich acts stunned by the jury verdicts, it is onlybecause the price of rigging a jury in Illinois has gone up wher he couldn't afford the price.
---
From the 'huh' department - A judge has ruled against part of Georgia's new immigration law partly because the government of Mexico is upset......

Saw local celebrity lawyers who happen to be involved in the local tabloid case of prominent local siblings having lunch together (cha-ching on both sibs billing statements). Could only wonder if they were discussing which of them would get the use of the UGA football tickets for which games this season.

Online headline: "John Allen, General Named To Head U.S. Afghanistan Force, Endorses Obama's Drawdown Plan " -- Doh! Did anyone think the Emperor O'Bozo would appoint a general who didn't agree with him?
---
From L-E story: "Among the first steps will be adopting an ordinance requiring prior approval for any city worker’s opening a bank account using Columbus’ tax-exempt ID number, she (Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson) said. Councilors have a draft of the law and now are discussing whether such accounts can be established with the permission of the city manager and finance director, or whether council should be the final authority." -- Huh? How can such authority even be considered to be given to the City Manager? Hugley has been involved as eithe a Deputy City Mamager or City Manager for the whole 8 year crime spree, and still says (ala Sgt Schultz), "I don't know nuthing".
---
Oh, BTW, I happen to agree with Mayor Mother Teresa Obamalinson on the issue that Hugley has one foot in the fire and the other in the frying pan (wonder if he bought the frying pan in China). He should be fired if he knew anything about what was going on, or he should resign (or be fired) if he can stand there and convince Council he was so incomptent that he didn't know what was going on

L-E headline: "Civic Center audit reveals former director exceeded use of complimentary tickets, approved his own pay" -- I can see tomorrow's headline..."City Manager says (I don't know nuthing".
---
L-E story: "ATLANTA — A federal appeals panel handed Georgia a victory Tuesday by finding metro Atlanta can legally tap a reservoir that provides water to roughly 3 million of its residents and tossed aside a lower court order that would have severely restricted access to that water starting next summer." -- Now we just need a federal appeals panel to make Atlanta to fix its sewer system/waste dispersion before it take any more water out of the Chattahoochee.
---
L-E story: "ATLANTA — Six young illegal immigrants were arrested Tuesday after they sat down and blocked traffic near the Georgia state Capitol to publicly declare their status and to protest state policies targeting illegal immigrants, the latest in a string of such “coming out” events in Georgia and other parts of the country. * “It’s time to stand up and let the world know that we need to fight for what we believe in,” said Nataly Ibarra , a 16-year-old high school student. " -- As opposed to American citizens standing up for what we believe in... like our Constitution?
---
L-E headline: "Birmingham condemns new immigration law" -- Wow! Now a city that has shown itself to be fiscally bankrupt now declares it's morally bankrupt as well.
